As Kisuke led the way, Raelin followed with Ichigo and Kita taking the back. Kita’s hand clutched his, probably in worry and anticipation. Ichigo smiled and squeezed back. “Breathe, Kita, breathe. Your best hope is now here. So don’t you dare go falling apart now. Okay?” “I’m trying,” Kita whispered in turn. “I am. It’s just….” she looked at her childhood friend with wide trembling blue eyes. “I miss him SO so much, Ichi. He’s been gone too long. Every moment aches.”
Ichigo nodded. “But he’s not gone, Kita. He’s still here. Alive. Immortal. He can come back. We’ll find a way. Even if we have to take baby steps. Right?” Kita nodded.
Ichigo grinned and led her down the hall where Kisuke and Raelin were standing in the deadline. And shielded his eyes as her wings appeared in a blinding fluid moment. This is going to take some work…. Ichigo muttered to himself. Moved

"Sneaking For The Cause": (continued) Once at the Miyamoto home Yoruichi opened the door and stepped inside stepping out of her shoes. "Shoes off boys or Kita will have your heads hanging on her walls." The two boys looked to one another and blinked and stepped out of their shoes following Yoruichi into the main room. She stopped in the middle of the main room her hands on her hips as she looked around. "Where did everyone go?" She looked toward the steps hearing a floorboard creak under someones feet. "They must be back upstairs."

Mitsuo looked around the beautiful home. It was very roomy and set up like a traditional Japanese home with only a few of the modern extras. Now he knew why Sojiro was the way he was. His family was more traditional then modern.
His mother must be very strict and she probably has to be with who Sojiro's father is. He has heard too many of the people in Soul Society that knows Sojiro personal say he reminds them of his father.
Hearing foot steps he turned looking toward another room. The dinning room he imagined since he saw a table with chairs peeking from around the wall.

Yuzu peaked out from around the corner, her arms full with a bowl of steaming muffins and wrapped in an apron. “Ah, Yoruichi, Kisuke’s upstairs with Kita. They’re seeing if she-” She paused. “Oh, company. Who’d you bring with you?”
“Don’t know,” Yoruichi shrugged. “Friends from Soji’s school. Didn’t get their names.”
Yuzu smiled widely. “You were worried? That’s so sweet!” She walked over and held out the bowl. “Here, have a muffin to tide you over before it’s dinnertime. I am still cooking that. But there should be enough. And Soji should be down soon!”

Riku's face lit up as he took a muffin from the bowl. The woman was very pretty and smelled like baked goods. "Thank you~" He bit into the muffin. He hummed in delight. "So good~ It's warm."
He looked around the living room, admiring the architecture and the interior design. He ate his muffin, trying hard not to drop crumbs, as he walked around. He had just finished the treat when he spotted something on a wall that peaked his interest. His eyes flashed with curiosity. He trotted up to the spot on the wall, finding that it was a very old and masterfully crafted katana. It sat in its pedestal on the wall.
"Beautiful~" Riku cooed, his eyes examining every detail in the sword. His hand raised up to touch it with a finger tip when his other hand shot up and grabbed his wrist. He pulled his hand down to his side.
No. This is Soji-kun's family home. If I touch something of theirs, even out of curiosity, they'll think I'm stealing. Just like everyone else, they'll think I want to steal everything I lay my hands on. I can't let that happen. Not with Soji-kun's family.
Riku laced his hands in front of him and walked back over towards the entrance to the kitchen, staying far away from anything he thought had any sort of value.

Taking a muffin himself Mitsuo stayed in place unlike Riku. When he saw him reach for the katana on the wall he held his breath his eyes wide. Don't you dare Riku. I will kick your ass myself. When Riku grabbed his own wrist and lowered his hands Mitsuo exhaled softly and finished eating his muffin.
He looked to girl which offered it to him and smiled warmly. "Beautiful and a great cook. May I have another?"

Yuzu’s smile grew. “Go ahead,” she replied, holding the bowl out. “Just please save room for dinner. I am making a big meal, including miso soup, yakitori-” Something in the kitchen beeped. “Woops. That would be the egg rolls, Soji’s favorite.” She spun around and tripped on a rug.
But Mitsuo caught her. “Thank you,” she murmured, blushing beet red. “You saved the muffins.”

Mitsuo's smiled widened. "It was not the muffins I was thinking of when I caught you. I would hate to see a single bump, bruise or scrape on you. You are much too pretty to wear such nasty things."
He helped her to a stand his arm still around her waist the muffins in his free hand. As he looked into her beautiful eyes the bowl of muffins lifted from his hand. He turned to see Sojiro standing there beside him. "DUDE!!" He released Yuzu giving Sojiro a playful punch in the chest.
"You had us worried sick about you. What the hell?"

Soji smiled quietly, his face still pale from nearly a week of little sleep. “Sorry, guys, I-” He halted as Riku slammed into him and hugged him tight.
“SOJI-KUNNNNNNN!!!”
Soji patted him on the head while still holding onto the muffins with his free arm. “Sorry, Riku, I….” he paused as Yuzu took the muffins from him again and nodded to her. Turning back to Riku and missing Mitsuo setting a hand on her waist again. “I was needed here…. and kind of forgot about everything else. I didn’t mean to worry you.”
He looked over to Mitsuo, raising an eyebrow at the position of his hand. “Any of you. Sorry." He looked away towards the stairs. "It was important...."

Riku shook his head with a smile. "No, don't be sorry. So long as you're okay, that's all that matters. Family is important. That comes first. We just wanted to know that you were okay."
Soji nodded, putting effort into a wider smile. "I am. It's just been rough."
"It's okay. Whatever happened that brought you here will get better, I'm sure of it. And I know you probably can't talk about whatever it was that happened, but we're here for you anyway. Bottling things up will only make it worse."

Mitsuo looked beside him seeing that Yuzu had walked away. He sighed and looked back to Sojiro combing his fingers through his hair. He smiled at his friend. "Yeah family first then the rest later. I know Makino will be happy to hear your alright." He sighed, "Especially after what happen the other day."
Mitsuo shook his head. "Let me warn you now. If she wants to do something and you try to stop her. Look out! She gets pretty mean."

Soji blinked. “What did you do?”
“Why did I have to do something?” Sojiro raised his eyebrows. Mitsuo rubbed the back of his neck. “I was innocent this time. She got mad at your aunt.”
“Yumi?” Soji exclaimed, looking around, making sure she was still up with his mother. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, Daichi peaking out from his shirt. He rubbed him under his chin and took a seat. “Will you tell me what happened?” Daichi bit his ear and he picked up a muffin, breaking a piece up for his partner before taking a bite himself.

Riku looked at the floor, frowning. "We were in Kido class, and when Makino found out who our teacher was, she realized that it was the woman who killed her father." He sighed and shook his head. "She was fine for a while, but she got angry and left. I tried to stop her, but she just started yelling. It was terrible."

Soji dropped his head, hiding his eyes. “Why does she think Yumiko killed her father?” he asked, voice low. Riku shook his head. "Only rumors I think. Apparently that was the word going around, and she believed it. I'm sorry. Rumors and gossip are nasty things. They can ruin people irreparably."
"Yeah..." Soji muttered, his eyes clouding with irritation, "they can." He set the muffin on the table and stood, walking over to the katana Riku had been staring at. He lifted it down from its place and held it out. "Here, you wanted to look at this, didn't you?" he murmured, trying to keep his tone free of emotion. Panic filled Riku's eyes and he held up his hands, shaking his head. "N-no! No, it's okay. I don't want to. It's very beautiful, but thank you anyway."
He saw me looking at it. Does he think I wanted to take it? ... No. Sojiro knows I would never steal from him or his family. I would never take something from a dear friend.
Riku clasped his hands behind his back, squeezing them together until his knuckles were white and his joints ached.
"Stop being an idiot," Sojiro snapped. "You're my friend, aren't you? And you're not stupid. So stop it." He pushed the katana at Riku. He looked down, the blue in his eyes dimming. "Just admire it like you usually would, okay?"
Riku blinked as Sojiro put the katana underneath his nose. At Sojiro's words, he relaxed and gently took the katana from him. He looked up at his best friend then down at the sword. He gingerly pulled it out of its sheath and held it out, turning it so the light glinted off of the blade. Riku found his breath leave his chest in a whoosh of air.
"Incredible. The craftsmanship is flawless. Even the sheath is priceless. Is this your sword, Soji-kun?" He ran his finger tips over the blade, holding it up vertically.
