"No. It's a deal or I get up and walk out of here right now and do it behind your back when the time comes." Kita told him crossing her arms over her stomach. She turned her head, looking away from him.
She had to stick to a yes or no from him. If she fell for the answer he gave to her he would never let it happen.
"If I don't guess it right then I will drop the idea altogether." She then looked quickly back at him and pointed her finger at him. "But you can't lie about it if I guess it right."

The fox fell silent again and then stood up, looking outside at the wet scenery. Kita waited, resolute. Finally, Gin sighed and sat down again. He stared deeply into her eyes and then nodded once. "I can't let you do whatever you're scheming alone, so I will agree to this. You have one guess, dearie." |

Kita nodded. "Well I know about Rangiku and the Hougyoku. That's a given since I was the one he gave the Hougyoku to." She looked at Gin and deep into his eyes. Her head tilting slightly as her hand rose, the tip of her thumb now in her mouth. Silence covered them for several seconds. Finally Kita sighed and shifted where she was sitting, her hands now resting in her lap.
"Aizen doesn't want to wait for your return back to Las Noche so he told..." she paused shaking her head. "No, he ordered you to let him have me when he returned tomorrow."

Gin's silence was enough of a reply. He should have tried to discuss something else before she started her coercion. Next time ... if there was a next time, he would use a different tactic.
"What are you planning, Kita?" he asked directly after the stillness between them was getting to be too much. |

Kita hung her head, his tone less than enthused that she got the right answer, but she knew Aizen's plans. She knew he was not going to wait for the seraph's return since the Hougyoku was finally awaken.
"I am going back--" She did not even get to finish when Gin cut her off. She looked up at him, her eyes and tone firm. "I am going back to Las Noches with Aizen tomorrow. Like it or not."

Kita avoided the direct question. "If Aizen ordered you to turn me over to him and you don't you know as well as me that he will send one of the espada after me. Maybe even hurt or kill you for disobeying him." She shook her head a sadness settling in her eyes as she looked at him. "Aizen may not send someone that day, it may not even be the day after, but he will send one, and you know there is going be a fight and someone will get hurt. Why not skip a step and just let him have me?"
She could see in Gin's eyes he did not like this. She gave him a weak smile and rested her hand to his. "I will be fine. Don't worry about me, I am strong. Remember. I can do this one thing without you to hold me up."

Gin held her hand in his, looking at her small, white fingers. "Would you change your mind if you were separated from me?" he asked barely above a whisper. He looked back into her blue eyes. "Aizen has threatened to make you a clean slate after he extracts the seraph from you. I don't know if it was a part of his 'lesson' for me or if that is his actual plan now. Either way, he wants to break the connection between you and I, that which Sumi kept at great lengths."

Kita's heart skipped a beat as her eyes closed and she lowered her head. The thought of losing everything scared her. She fought back the tears and looked back up at Gin. "Do you have a better idea? An idea that will not cost someone their life?" She sighed.
"Right now--and I know this sounds cruel--I only care about what might happen to you if I don't go back. I don't want to lose you. To me right now I only have two people in my life that mean a lot to me. You and Vacanze." A tear trickled down her cheek. "And I know both of you will protect me to the extent of your life. The thought of losing either of you scares me more than anything."

Gin frowned and wiped the tear away. "I have a plan that should settle any doubts my master has about whether I am still willing to follow him," he murmured. When she looked inquisitively at him, he shook his head. "No, I am not going to tell you what that is, only that it will certainly destroy any of my ties here. It might shift his focus from you enough that if you do one thing-
He looked back at her sharply. "If you wish to avoid bloodshed, save yourself from becoming erased. and you truly wish to follow me," she nodded quickly and he brought his lips to her ear, "then give yourself over to Aizen," he whispered. "Walk up to him of your free will and do not refute his claim over you." He pulled back, sighing as she shivered. "Tell him you are tired of running from your fate."
"But what about you?"
"You will ask him if you can continue to be my pet." |

"So you want me to bow to Aizen? Be his servant and at his beck and call whenever he feels the need to call on me?" She looked at Gin. "You know what that means for me since I am only human? He has no other use for me other than that and the seraph."
She shivered at the thought of him touching her as the thought of her being in his bed turned her stomach.

Gin embraced her. "If he erases you, it will amount to the same thing. By becoming obedient, you may gain enough freedom that you can come to me and the Septima when he has no need of you." He paused. "He may spare your life when he takes the seraph from you."

Kita trembled in his embrace as he held her close. "But if I were still your pet wouldn't he send me back to you or wait for you to come get me when he was finished with me? Bow to him won't mean I have to stay with him all the time would it?"
She looked up at him still not sure about this. "And won't me going with him freely show him that I am willing to follow him?"

"It could be that way," he answered in the same low voice. "I may be the one who fetches you and takes you away." Gin stayed silent on the other way it could turn out. She already knew the opposite meaning. Pulling back, he cupped her face. "Your going to him will be the first step, not the whole ordeal. He will test this change."

"Of course he will!" Kita exclaimed softly. "The first test will be to walk away from you!" Kita shook her head. "I can't pull that act off. I can't!" She fell into him wrapping her arms around him. "I love you too much to pull that act off."
She buried her face in his shoulder.
