Sitting at the other end of the table Kisuke rubbed his chin in thought. "So that's what was going on that day she disappeared all day and the three of you came in at like four in the morning." He looked to Ichigo and Vacanze and grinned.
"She was still drunk when you got her to the shop and snuck her into her room; wasn't she?"
The two boys looked at one another their faces blank of expression. "Why didn't you tell me what happen with her?" He then looked to Renji, "and you will be telling me who gave her the sake. That's not a request; just so you know."

As many people at the table were either rubbing their heads or smirking wickedly, Yumiko decided to change the subject. She had a surprise and she could sense others’ energy nearing. Setting a hand on her zanpakuto - which she had had Juushiro secret away - she unsheathed it just enough and closed her eyes.
Suddenly the table and yard were covered with transparent golden butterflies. Their wings opened and closed a few times, and suddenly a golden net appeared stretched out around them. Just as abruptly, the butterflies faded. Many crimson roses bloomed on the balls wrapped around the bouquets around chairs and on fenceposts. Slowly, they unwound, filling the area with crimson light. They burst, and the carefully controlled Shakaho bolts spread confetti over the guests.
Sojiro grinned. “Vale told me there would be fireworks.”

Post by Captain Tsukiro Ashimitsu on May 29, 2015 19:50:21 GMT -6
Tsukiro finally getting off duty, stepped from the gate as it closed behind him. He was still in uniform. He blamed it on being too excited with his birthday present for Kita. He wanted to be there for dinner, but the Gotei came first and Kita always understood that. Something he always loved about her. He walked into the Kurosaki home smiling from ear to ear. Music was playing softly in the background outside in the back yard where everyone had gathered chatting and laughing. He was sure dinner was almost over, if not over. It was already eight o’clock.
Stopping in living room his eyes caught Kita walking across the yard over to another table. His heart leapt in his chest seeing her. She was so beautiful, her hair pulled up and pinned to the back of her head, as the blue of her dress made her eyes dance with a more brilliant blue then normal. She was radiant; almost glowing. As his heart and excitement settled, Tsukiro noticed something different. An old much too familiar reiatsu. His eyes narrowed as he scanned the house once more.
Where is he?
Still looking around not finding him, he gave up looking, Tsukiro took a deep breath, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword where it rested, his other hand tightening around a small gift box in his other hand. It had been six years. Six long years and over that time, Kita had welcomed him back into her life. Forgiving him of his misgivings and fowl words toward the Snake, Sumi and her friends. It was a forgiveness he believed would never come, however; it did and with it they built a new relationship between them, it was only a friendship, but it was more then he thought he would get from her after his actions. He wanted it to continue, never stop and if the Snake were awake, Tsukiro knew he would put a stop to it quickly.
Walking outside and stepping up behind Kita, Juushiro and Yumiko looked around her at him. When they pointed behind her she turned.
Kita tossed her arms in the air and hugged his neck tightly, “Tsuki! You made it!”
He wrapped his arms around her hugging her back as he softly kissed her neck. He tried to relax taking a deep breath. He was just waiting for Gin to step in and rip them apart like he did eight years ago. Stepping back from her, he held up one finger, tilting her head at him she watched what he was doing. Slowly he lifted the hand with the small gift box. Stopping her as he rested the tip of his finger over her lips when she went to speak.
“I want to thank you; I know I have been a jerk. Even at times a total asshole, and even when you hated me, you still welcomed me back when all I did was come around and make you cry again. Now today after six years, we have rebuilt what I have destroyed between us. A friendship I believed was gone forever, but I am glad I swallowed my pride with you and traveled that road to fix what I so selfishly destroyed because I was too hurt.” He opened the box he had in his hand and presented it to her. “Kita Miyamoto. As a sign of your growing friendship, I would like you to have this. Happy Birthday, Baby.”
He reached forward cupping the back of her head pulling her forward as he softly pressed his lips to her forehead.

Kita lifted the silver band from the box as she looked at the ring. It looked like a small crown, on the inside of the band an engraving, but she could not make it out, it was like it was cut in half. She lifted the ring and before she could ask, Tsukiro lifted his hand and removed the exact same ring from his right pinky finger. He took the twin and placed them together, handing her the full ring back. She looked at both of them holding them together as she read the engraving.
Best Friends Forever...
She looked to Tsukiro and smiled then looked back to the rings. She was still smiling as she took them apart and handed him back his half. Looking in his eyes she tiptoed up and kissed his cheek tenderly.
"I love it, Tsuki. Thank you, I will cherish it always."
Tsukiro pulled her into a hug squeezing her tightly as he whispered in her ear. "Please, Kita. Don't let him rip us apart again."
Kita pulled back from the hug and looked into his eyes. "Tsuki. It was never his intent to come between us in the first place..."
Tsukiro shook his head taking the ring from her hand and slid it on her finger. "Please. Don't ever take it off."
Kita smiled as she watched him slide it on the ring finger of her right hand. "You know I can't promise you that." She looked up into his eyes again. "But I will wear it as long as I can, and if it just so happens to be forever." She smiled brightly. "Then so be it."
Tsukiro smiled brightly at her kissing her cheek once more wishing her Happy Birthday once more.

Eyes guarded behind his silver bangs, Gin watched from the exchange from the sidelines, tensing a few times when Tsukiro moved near her but staying in his place when the kiss remained only friendly. He would let them have their moment. A wry smirk flitted over his features, strangely pleased that their friendship had been repaired. With the young captain's approach, when he had first entered, Gin had sensed the concealed rage and desperation in his energy, but it had faded. Leaving the sweetness that Kita had unlocked.
But how long would it last?
When Tsukiro leaned down to give her another kiss, he moved to join them.
He halted when Sojiro tugged Yumiko over to Tsuki to boast about her fireworks.
Moving forwards again but staying silent, he wrapped his arms around Kita, letting his son talk to the brat.

Kita looked over her shoulder at Gin as he looked at her. Softly she pressed her lips to his, pulling back she lifted her right hand and showed Gin the ring. "See the friendship token Tsuki gave me. Isn't it pretty?"
Gin chuckled. "It is indeed a fitting piece, part one of the set, and the other one stands on the finger of your friend - a token he will support you in everything."
She turned in his arms letting her hands rest to his shoulders. "How are you holding up?" Kita asked him, he was looking a little tired. "Please don't push yourself on my account. If you get tired we can go. I know they will understand."
Gin smirked. "I'm fine. There's nothing strenuous and it's good exercise." He kissed the hand caressing his cheek. "Don't stop on my account, dearie~"
Kita titled her head and gave him a questioning look. "You promise to tell me though if you get tired?"
Tsukiro looked up from Sojiro as he heard someone yell out that it was time to light the candles, and sing Happy Birthday. Turning seeing Kita in Gin's arms he took a deep breath, reached over and took Kita by the arm pulling her from him. "Sorry Snake. She is needed." He tugged her up to walk beside him as his arm slid around her waist his hand resting to her hip. He led her over to the cake table as Karin and Yuzu stood on either side of the covered cake.
Kita slightly pulled from Tsukiro as she looked at him her eyes holding a glare. "Tsuki, I was talking to Gin and I would appropriate you not calling him Snake. You know his name. Please use it."

As they neared the table, Gin slid his arm around Kita from the other side and deftly led Kita back against his side. “I think there’s no need to apologize, dearie~ I am Snake to him. And to me, he will always be,” he smirked, “Brat. Sounds fair, Tsukiro~?”
Tsukiro narrowed his eyes at him gritting his teeth as his jaw clenched tightly. "Go fuck yourself, Snake." Feeling his rage growing his hand clamped around the hilt of his sword. Seeing the look on Kita's face and in her eyes Tsukiro growled low in his chest withdrawing as he turned quickly away from them both. He started walking away as he told Gin. "Go back to Hell where you belong, Snake."
Kita went to reach out for him as he walked away, but quickly drew back her hand. She turned looking at Gin a frown on her face. She buried her face in his chest her hand clenching at his kimono. "Why does he do this? Just when I think he is fine he proves me wrong."
Gin pulled her closed. "I will fix it, my love," he whispered. "I promise. Today, he showed promise. I am sure he will face me again, and next time... I will meet him. And this feud will end." As Kita started shaking her head, he kissed her forehead. "Trust me, Kita. The man that has come to be such a close friend is not gone. It is something else that brings out his hatred with me. And I will meet it."

Kita looked up into his eyes her head still shaking. "I don't want either of you hurt, Gin. And Tsuki has been foolish enough to threaten your life to my face." She looked Tsukiro's way and sighed.
"And with you just waking up..." she looked back to Gin. "He may be a friend of mine, but that is not overriding his hatred for you. I am scared he might be fool enough to attack you here tonight. Sojiro, Kenji and Evita are here. I will never forgive him if he does. The children do not need to be around that. Please promise me if he does, you take it away from here, for the children's sake."

Gin nodded and continued to hold her close for a moment longer. “If there is that opportunity, I will. Even if I have to grab him up like some damsel in distress. I will do what I can, I promise,” he whispered. Pulling away, he grinned. “Now look at that tasty cake, say thank you, and make a wish, dearie~”

Kita looked at the cake and smiled brightly. Looking to Yuzu and Karin she bowed slightly to them both. "Thank you so much for all this. You two are amazing friends for doing all this for me." She looked at all the smiling faces that had gathered tonight in her honor. "Thank you all. You're the best family and friends a girl could ask for."
When she finished talking she heard them all telling her to blow out the candles, make and wish. At that point Karin lit the last candle and Yuzu started them off singing Happy Birthday. Kita started to become choked up and cover her mouth with her hands wiping away the couple of tears that escaped her eyes. She looked to Gin and smiled as Sojiro pushed his way up to his mother and father through the crowed. He tugged on her hand as she looked down at him and smiled.
"Make a wish, mom."
Kita looked from Sojiro back to Gin then to Sojiro again. Her eyes drifted to the cake as she closed her eyes and leaned forward. She took a deep breath and made her wish.
I want us to always be as happy as we are today.
"You know that is not possible, Kita." Sumi's voice rang out in her head.
Kita stood up straight her eyes opening quickly.
"You don't talk to me for years and that is the nicest thing you have to say? You can go back to your silent treatment if that is the case."
Sumi chuckled lightly. "There was no need for me to interfere."
Kita looked around the yard quickly, she did not feel an odd reiatsu's. No hollow energies, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
"Stop panicking Kita." Sumi told her.
Kita drew her hand to her head and step away from the crowed around the table. She needed air and to sit down.

Gin saw her her hand go to her head and told Soji to get Juushiro. The little man rushed off into the crowd. Gin turned to the matter at hand. Walking over to Kita as she tried to politely excuse herself, his eyes narrowed and he swept her off her feet, looking at her closely. She had tears in her eyes and her cheeks had paled. She looked like she had had a fright. Gin grinned as some in the crowd called after her. “We will be back shortly. Kurosaki, I am borrowing your living room.”
He held her gently to him as he strode back into the shaded house, setting her down on the couch and kneeling before her. “Kita….. “ he murmured, eyes sharp, asking her to tell him what had happened outside. He chuckled a moment later. “Are you the one needing rest, dearest?”

Kita giggled softly shaking her head. "No. Sumi just put a scare into me. She has not talked to me in years and today of all days she decided to say something when I made my wish." She cupped his cheek leaning forward and kissing his lips softly. Pulling back she rested her forehead to his. "I will be alright." A tear trickled down her cheek as Sumi's words echoed in her mind again.
You know that is not possible...
Kita looked into his eyes. "Promise me something?"
"If I can," Gin replied. He raised an eyebrow. "It has to be within reason considering our location, though~"
"Never give up. No matter how bad things seem to be. Never give up." She shook her head, "and I promise I will do the same."

Before Gin could answer her Kisuke and Vacanze walked in the living room. Kisuke and Vacanze both holding two pieces of Yuzu's amazing cake. Kisuke handed one to Gin and Vacanze handed one of his to Kita.
"No sad faces at your birthday party." Kisuke told Kita. He then looked to Vacanze motioning with his head for him to get Kita out with the others. As Vacanze lead Kita back outside Kisuke helped Gin to a stand.

As he was walking out with Kita, Renji approached them.

"Hey birthday girl." Renji walked up with a saucer of sake and handed it to her then kissed her cheek. Kita took the saucer and quickly lifted it drinking it down as Vacanze went to reach for it. She and Vacanze dropped their hands pretty much at the same time. Vacanze a slight growl in his chest.
Giving Vacanze an odd look Renji tilted his head. "What was that all about?"
