Shiori’s face lit up at his words, her gaze softening. "Captain Hitsugaya, if that’s a request for my presence at your division, I would be honored to come and speak with your squad," she replied, a gentle smile touching her lips. "Sometimes, people don’t realize they’re carrying more than they should. They bear burdens in silence until it becomes too heavy to hold alone. It’s like a weight they didn’t even know they were carrying until it’s right there, placed before them."
She tilted her head thoughtfully. "Spiritual healing is often neglected, even among us Soul Reapers, because we’re always focused on our duty, on protecting others. But… even those who protect need to be protected in some way. And sometimes, a bit of healing or a moment of peace is all it takes to renew one's strength."
She folded her hands in front of her, inclining her head respectfully. "So, if it would help, I’d gladly offer my time to your division. To bring even a bit of comfort to those who serve alongside you—that would be a privilege."
As she lifted her gaze back to him, she continued, her voice soft but steady. "And for you as well, Captain. I know it's not easy to accept help, especially when you’re used to giving it. But as you said… things are not the same. There’s no shame in seeking strength from those around you. Even if that strength is only found in moments of stillness or reflection."
She met his eyes, letting the words hang between them. "Thank you for trusting me, Captain. I won’t let that trust go unheeded."

Toshiro gave a soft chuckle at her enthusiasm and nodded. "I know you won't. You are as dedicated to your duty as I am to mine." He let the silence hang between them for a moment as he gathered his thoughts. He felt lighter. As if some of the weight that had hung heavy on his shoulders had lessened. Finally, he bowed deeply to her, speaking, "Thank you again, Miss Miyazaki. I look forward to seeing you again."
The beaming smile on her face as she waved and bid him goodbye brough a smile to his own face. She reminded him of Momo just a bit. But even so, there was something different about her. Something wise and clear minded. Not that Momo hadn't been wise, but her mind and judgement had been clouded long before she died. She had improved after the aftermath of the Winter War had settled, but he could see that deep down sometimes she thought that maybe Aizen had something good in him. He both hated and admired that determination of hers. That blind faith.
But Shiori... she felt different. And it wasn't just the lack of a familial bond--adoptive or otherwise. There was something about her that ceased all worry. That said she thought for herself and saw not just the good in people, but the truth. And that was truly something to admire. Someone who could see things for what they were and act on them, good or bad.
The thought of Shiori Miyazaki stuck with him long after he had left the shrine. -END- "Shaped By Time"
