Kenji nodded. "I should be used to a lot all at once, yeah? To be honest, I think that I may be having a hard time because everything was so chaotic and for so long...And, now...still chaotic." His parent chuckled. "But far less so...I think I just don't have much to distract me. Reopening the shop helped. And, the sudden jolt of no longer doing that..." Kenji sighed.
"I'll be okay." he was quiet for a moment. "You know what..." Kenji put on a playful grin. "I think I'm going to take a vacation. Like a real break. Just lie around and do nothing."
Kenji watched as his mother poured tea for the three of them. Kenji raised his cup. "To...To doing nothing! And, doing it well!"
"To a new home and beginning..."
"Here here!"
Kenji smiled wide. All the tension he had felt just moments ago was gone. All his worries were gone, at least for now. Kenji thought about how much he wanted to share this moment with his sister and Tessai. But he would invite them over another time. There was also Vale...Seto. And, Ide. He wouldn't mind sharing this moment with them too. Seto would show up on his own, he was sure of that. And, considering their last conversation, Kita would come if invited.
Glancing at the photos pinned to the cork board behind his father, Kenji smiled. This was a start...Good, bad, overwhelming, easy...It was a start.
