"Kita!? What are you doing?!" Izuru narrowed his eyes at the man as he took Kita's hand in his. "She belongs here! With Ichimaru! Not you, Tervaden!" His fists clenched at his sides as he glared at the man.
"Kita belongs where ever she wishes." answered Vale. "And, right now, it is with me. If you disapprove, please...Feel free to stop me, Izuru Kira. But, pray the collar you wear kills you before I do."
Izuru growled, his hands clenching tighter. he knew he could not take on Vale with the collar on, even with it off would be a long shot, but at least he would have some kind of fighting chance. So he directed his pleas at Kita. "Kita! Don't do this! Gin needs you!" His fisted hands whitened the tighter they became.

"And, when she needed him," replied Vale. "He was busy fucking Ryouma. Now, go heal him before he dies!" Vale's eyes fell to the boy and his ferret standing across the room. Vale smiled, as he gently nudged Kita, leading her out of the room.
Waiting until Kita had left the room, Vale addressed the Ichimaru child. "Do not worry, Stray. Your mother is safe. More safe with me than she is with your father."

Sojiro stayed quiet as Daichi's tail wrapped around him, highly agitated. Finally, he took a step forward, walking closer to Tervaden. Daichi hissing in his ear. But Sojiro ignored him. His other guardian would probably have a few choice words to say, too. "My mother," he stated quietly, "is safe because of her own strength. It's not because she's with you. And I am not, and never will be, a stray. It doesn't matter where I go. My family will still be there."

Vale smiled, patted the Ichimaru child on the head. As his hand rested on top of his head, a long charm tied to his wrist fell to the boys shoulder. It tapped the ferret resting on his shoulder. When the charm came in contact with the ferret, it glowed drawing a loud hiss from the ferret.
Chuckling, Vale grabbed the ferret. "Well, now." The ferret turned its head quickly, biting Vale's hand. Vale's grasp only tightened on the ferret. The charm continued to glow, as Vale shook his arm allowing the long bracelet to fall around the ferret.
"Aeronite, Stray. Even your demi-god is subject to it." With a wordless Kido, Vale trapped the ferret in a ball of light. The Ichimaru child growled as his hand fell to the hilt of his blade. In an instant, the sphere around the ferret shrank.
"I suggest you stand down, Stray. Both your mother and your friend are coming with me."

Sojiro's eyes narrowed as his head started to throb. "Mother won't stand for that, so let Daichi go," he murmured. He stepped forwards, pausing as the sphere shrunk around Daichi again and his furry friend's voice echoed in his head.
"Wait a second, Soji. We don't know what this thing will do to me, and you just woke up from the last blast."
Soji halted, glaring violet daggers at the man before him.

Izuru growled storming toward Vale, "That's enough!! Give the boy back his ferret you can't have them both!!"
As Vale's gaze turned to the on coming Izuru, Kita stepped in the door of the room once more. Izuru stopped in his path as he looked to her, Sojiro's eyes going to his mother as well as his feet quickly brought him to her side.
"Mom, Vale says he's taking Daichi," Sojiro told her.
"Kita, stop this man. He is being difficult," Izuru announced as his look darted to Vale then back to Kita.

Kita lifted her left hand combing her fingers through her son's silver hair, the stones in the ring now glowing a soft blue as her eyes caught them, slowly growing more vibrant she lowered her hand to her side not sure what was causing them to glow the way they were. Her attention then turned to Vale.
"Vale, please. Leave Daichi with Sojiro. Separating them does nothing but hurt them both."
Before Vale replied, Kita heard Gin growling from the bathroom.

“Kita, don’t you dare let him bully Soji," Gin hollered. His eyes narrowed as the world spun around him again and then forced himself to continue. "And even if you are going to leave with that fucking bastard, get back in here and stop the bleeding first,” he snapped. He ground his teeth, hating to ask in front of others. “Sumi can’t leave your side like the last time this was done, dearie. And you know it!"

A confused look crossed Kita's face with Gin's words. The last time this happened? Suddenly Kita remembered where the blade of Chinmoku was pointed when she left the bathroom. Her eyes widened as she looked quickly to Vale, he only smirked at her. Kita quickly rushed past the group to the bathroom finding Gin in a pool of his own blood, his color paler than normal. She panicked closing the door behind her to keep the others out, going quickly to his side. His member was sliced from the base to the tip on the underside.
She felt faint as memories past washed over her, her eyes going closed. Memories she thought she had buried deep to keep from haunting her in her sleep now welled back up to the forefront on her mind. She took a deep breath opening her eyes as she pressed her hand to his chest, her eyes closing again as she softly whispered onto the silence of the room.
"I am sorry..."
A single tear rolled down her cheek as she healed Gin with what little power had returned to her in the last few hours, but it was not enough as he kept bleeding out. Gin growing weaker by the second.
Sumi, Gin needs you. Please help him. Kita asked of her. More tears fell as she pushed more of her weakened powers into Gin.
It was only a matter of seconds and Gin was released from the Kido that held him in place. His member healing quickly and his strength returning to normal.

Just as Gin breathed out in relief, his heart seized as Kita swayed and then slumped forwards. Gin grabbed and wrapped his arms around her before she could touch the floor. “Kita…” Stroking the damp hair from her face, he sighed. “It’s not your fault, dearie.” He closed his eyes, taking a moment to thank the goddess that still protected his light, even now. He chuckled shortly, not as amused as he could be with the eyes of his woman closed. “It seems,” he whispered, “that even when you should have no powers left, there are some exceptions to that rule.” He chuckled wryly, holding her close. A moment later, his eyes snapped with warning and danger as the door opened before him.

Vale growled, snapping his fingers. The sphere containing the ferret disappeared with the ferret in it. Starting toward the bathroom, Vale released Chinmoku and let it run rampant on the two in the room. He shunpo'd into the bathroom, tearing Ichimaru and Kita apart. "I'm tired of you fucking forgetting how shit works!" Vale slammed Ichimaru deep into the marble wall. "You are not going to win! I don't understand why you don't get that! You seem to always do shit that doesn't makes sense with no repercussions. I'm going to fucking force you to remember the rules." Vale's grey eyes darkened, as his fists hammered into the already broken man, driving him deeper into the marble wall. He stepped back, his fists bloody, allowing Ichimaru's limp body to fall from the hole. "And, it's going to hurt." Turning around, Vale looked to the unconscious Kita. Sighing, he knelt down next to the woman as he recalled Chinmoku. He picked her up, bridal style, and carried her from the bathroom. Vale carried her through the room, passed an unscathed Kira and Ichimaru child. He looked to the terrified child, stopping in the doorway. "Don't be like your father, child. Be mindful of your surroundings and other people. Mind how these people effect your surroundings. And, how they can kill you if you do not pay attention." Turning to Kira, Vale delivered a warning. "From this point on, Kita does not touch him...For any reason. If he's hurt, then his wounds are to be dealt with by you alone." At that, Vale disappeared in a flash of shunpo, carrying Kita with him.

"Preservation" (continued):Yumiko knocked on the door twice before she heard a series of clicks from the other side and Sojiro opened the door. “Did Mom…” He paused, eyes going to the naked blade in her hand, and then stepped aside. “Come in and hurry. I don’t want anyone else coming in.” As he closed and set the code on the door again, he turned to to face her again. “Did Mom send you or did you see Tervaden’s attack?”
“I might have, but Ichimaru's failing reiatsu dominated my vision. Vale... he was gone too quickly for me to me determine if the flicker I felt was from him,” Yumiko replied quietly, her own eyes on wreckage throughout the room. Traces of angry reiatsu lingered in the walls. “When — when did this-” “That doesn’t really matter,” Kira muttered, coming out. “He has temper tantrums. If someone hadn’t gotten in the way, it would have passed soon enough.” He sighed, rubbing his hands off with a towel, and offered her a smile. “Glad you’re here. I can use the help, and,” he looked to Sojiro, “I think it’s too risky to sneak a healer out of the Maze.” Sojiro folded his arms. “I am fine!” he snapped. He turned on his heel, grabbing some food from the counter, and disappeared into his room.
Yumiko felt a pang of worry flutter in her heart and turned to the lieutenant. “How bad is he?” she asked. “ I saw the blood outside, on the wall, but is that…” Kira frowned. “He’s in bad shape, but that’s not his blood. That’s from the bastard bat teaching Kita a lesson.” He turned around, leading the way back to the bedroom, halting again as Yumiko stayed frozen in the main room.
“When?” she asked. “A few hours ago, give or take.” Kira looked over his shoulder, gazing at her again. “You seem pale. You okay?"
Yumiko looked the other way. “I ... just did some healing on myself." She took a breath and stated. "I'll be alright and I can still help." She walked quicker, taking a longer stride to pass him and halted at the bloody sight of Gin laid out on the bed. “You tied his arms?” she asked. “And knocked him out with a syringe,” Kira shrugged, closing the door. “It’s the only way to keep him from tearing off after Kita. He doesn’t care if he bleeds out, and he wants Tervaden dead.”
“But he doesn’t have Shinsou….” Kira scoffed. “If that would stop him, he wouldn’t be in the shape he is now.”
Yumiko sighed. “Is that why you’re sticking to Sojiro and he’s upset?” “That and Vale took Daichi away because he could. The kid hasn't awakened his zanpakuto, and Kenji's left his side.” Kira responded, getting out bandages. “Anyways, I don’t know how low your energy is, but I’m mostly worried about the bastard's internal bleeding and head injuries.”
Yumiko sat down beside the bed. “If I can rest in between, I’ll do all I can,” she stated. She took a breath and started to twist the healing kido into a cushion with Mizue. “This is partly my fault, after all.” Kira said something under his breath, but Yumiko continued. “If you can work on the legs and arms, I’ll focus on his torso first and find the source of his irregular breathing.”

Sojiro came out a couple hours later to clean up the kitchen and put away the dishes from the afternoon. He frowned into the soapy water as he worked, hoping his building headache would escape Izuru's notice. He just couldn't stop trying to contact Daichi. Sojiro glanced down to the blade on his hip. If he awakened his zanpakuto, would he get him back, or would Vale still be an ass? He huffed and placed the last dish in the rack.
Starting as the door to the bedroom opened.
Izuru walked out, elbows still covered in bandages, carrying Yumiko out in his arms. "Come help me clean off one of our beds," he called over. "I'm not leaving her in the open if anyone demands to come in."
Sojiro nodded, rushing over and opening the door to their quarters. Picking up books and notebooks from his own, he pulled down the blankets and stepped aside for Izuru to lay his honorary aunt down. He waited until he had covered her.
"Will he be alright?" he asked.
Izuru nodded. "He'll be cursing when he wakes up, but Ryouma healed the worst of the injuries." He paused and then grabbed Sojiro's ear.
"Ouch! Iz!"
"You only call me that when you're hiding something."
"It's only a headache," Sojiro growled, trying to pull away as Izuru dragged him out of the room. "You know I've been getting them for a year or so."
"And you need to take a pill," the lieutenant replied, closing the door behind him and folding his arms. "How bad is it this time?"
"Just a five," the teenager muttered. He ducked an incoming hit. "Shouldn't we feed Yumi?" he asked.
"Later," Izuru responded, rolling his eyes and going past himg to the medicine cabinet. "And we should tell Kisuke about them again. Your headaches. They're getting worse."
Sojiro sat on a stool. "I'd rather we do it after I get Daichi back. I don't want to attract more attention." He took the cup of water and the large pill. "I just hope Mom comes back soon." The two lapsed into silence at that. It finally got to Sojiro. "And I want Kenji to stop staying out all day!" the teen snapped. "He's not even here for dinner most of the time." He pushed his water away, half-finished, until Izuru reminded him that he had to finish it.
He took it up again, staring into the clear liquid. At least Father is out of danger... and it didn't seem Tervaden wanted to hurt Mother. He closed his eyes, taking a long drink. It's a small victory but something nonetheless.

"Necessary Foray":When Yumiko woke and left the boys’ room, the main room was still, Izuru propped up on the couch and snoring. She chuckled. And walked quietly over to the fridge, pouring herself a glass of juice. Sitting on a stool, she drank the liquid slowly, once again drawn to the cracks in the walls, still knitting together and monitors still covered by sheets or foil. It represented so much destruction. And not just with Kita and Gin. “Going back now?” Sojiro asked, making his honorary aunt jump and nearly drop her empty glass. He closed his book and set it back on the corner bookshelf, where he had been reading. And waiting. “I’m coming with you,” he stated.Yumiko shook her head. “You know Kira won’t like that,” she murmured, “and neither will your father.”

Sojiro shrugged. “They’re too fast asleep to care right now. Father’s too wounded to sleep lightly and Iz knocked himself out finishing in one session.” He folded his arms. “Either you say yes and I follow by your side or I follow in the shadows. Your pick. You won’t wake either of them.” He wasn’t going to drop this. Not after all that had happened. He was going to do something. With or without Daichi by his side or his honorary brother Kenji watching from the shadows.
