"I'm not promising her shit!" Vale's arm twitched, shattering Chinmoku's form. "I am through being halfway decent towards you fucking assholes!" Chinmoku reformed into the shape of Kita. He stepped towards Kita's form until there was barely any space left between them. "If you will not tell me where you are, I will just follow the sound of your screams and drag your ass back!
Vale raised his hand, drawing a portion of the cloud swirling beneath his left hand. He flexed his fingers sending shards of Chinmoku through Kita's form. Aizen turned around and looked at Vale with narrowed eyes.
"What the hell are you doing?" asked Aizen.
"Don't get your panties in a bunch, Aizen. She only feels the pain of what I'm doing. There is no physical harm done." Vale raised his hand again, sending more shards of Chinmoku into Kita's form. "Scream for me, love.", Kita's form doubled over and screamed out in pain.
"Enough!" The cloud shifted from a form of Kita to Chinmoku. "Harming her will do no good." A portion of Chinmoku reformed into Kita. "He will do you no more harm, Kita."
"I don't believe you. You're his zanpakuto!"
"And, I am nothing like Vale. I merely allow his use of my power."
"Why would you allow such an evil man to do that?"
"This man is a shadow of his former self. But, Vale is a topic that I do not wish to speak on, right now. You are with child. And, I will allow no more harm to come to you. Not with the use of my power."
"You can promise that Vale will not touch me. But, you can't promise Aizen won't try anything."
"While that is true, I am sure the man wishes no harm to come to the unborn child. Do you, Sousuke Aizen?" Chinmoku looked over his shoulder to Aizen, who returned the glance with narrowed eyes.

Kita shook her head standing as the cloud form of Kita stood as well. There was darkness still surrounding her. No sounds could be heard. Then a sudden whoosh of air blew around them. Aizen, Vale and Yumiko waited, watching to see if Kita's form appeared in front of them.
Instead, Chinmoku's cloud form of Kita started to move forward slowly, "I won't come back and you can't make--" Back to the void she retreated as Chinmoku's cloud started to swirl around Vale once more. Kita was gone.

A deep growl emitted from Aizen as he spun in anger. His haori flowed behind him as he walked from the garden in a rage. "I will find her myself. Both of you! Remain in your rooms until I return. I will deal with you both when I return."
Aizen shunpo'ed off leaving the two in the garden as he went to search for the rebellious Kita.

Vale twitched his arm, reforming his blade. "I think we were just grounded, Yumi." Yumiko looked at Vale, barely able to hold back her tears. He walked over to Yumiko and extended his hand to her and helped her to her feet. "If he wants to seek out the rebellious bitch on his own, let him. I have better things to do than to chase down a pregnant woman in an emotional whirlwind." He brushed stray hairs from Yumiko's face and tucking them behind her ear. "Go back to your room, Yumiko. And, stay there."
"Why? What do you want?" she asked, wiping away a tear that had finally fallen.
"I don't want anything, Yumi. Not right now, anyway." Vale shrugged and headed towards the doors of the garden. "I will send Orihime to keep you company. Now, go." With that, he left Yumiko in Szayel's Garden alone.

Yumiko looked after the figure of Vale Tervaden. Was it possible that Orihime had been right? That there was something good left in that man? Perhaps he was returning to the person he had been beforehand - when she had first met him. And what did he mean by her not knowing his past? She frowned. But his rage and violence towards Kita..... "I don't want anything, Yumi. Not right now, anyway."
Yumiko shook her head, rising to her feet and rubbing her neck. It didn't matter. Not right now anyway. Standing slowly, she wrapped her arms around herself, Aizen's harsh words echoing loudly in her mind. They hurt. But for once, she felt nothing else. She closed her eyes, standing there, wavering. Was she free of Aizen? You enjoy being here. I know, because you are still here. Be it out of love or whatever else you feel. You are still here."
"Just admit it, Yumi. You don't belong in the Soul Society. You don't belong in the Human Realm. You belong -"She opened her eyes, cutting off Vale's words. Like Orihime's, they burrowed into her mind. She vanished. - END RP - "Pushing Limits":

"Denial":Vale sat at the edge of the lake in Szayel's garden, his feet in the water. Chinmoku rested beside him. His eyes were glazed over in thought. He had no idea where Orihime was, and he didn't care. Azayaka had angered him to the point of drawing his blade and striking. Aizen had placed him beneath Ichimaru. And, Yumiko was with Aizen. "What the fuck?" His hand rested on Chinmoku. "What is wrong with me?" "What do you mean, Vale?"
"I am the way I am. I can do what I want without conviction. But, now..." "But now, there is a weight on your heart that you can find no relief for."
Vale shook his head. "There is no weight, Hanten." "Your denial of it, doesn't make it any less there."
Vale sighed and rose from the edge of the lake. He loosened his obi and disrobed. "There's no weight on my heart. There's nothing there." He walked out and submerged himself. He swept his hair back off his face, when he resurfaced. "There's nothing there." Vale rubbed his eyes and looked to the edge of the lake to his zanpakuto. "Is there really?"

"The Pain of Separation":Vale sat on the ground leaned against a tree at the lakes edge. His head was hung with his chin to his chest. His body was still, but his mind wandered as often as a ripple formed on the lake beside him. He left his room hours earlier in search of a place of peace. He walked until he felt the blades of grass beneath his bare feet. The garden was a beautiful place despite the hideousness of its creator. It would also serve as the last place he held conversation with Chinmoku outside of battle. His eyes remained closed as his zanpakuto rested across his lap. He would keep it sheathed. The sight of only a partial blade brought with it a nagging pain in his chest in head. He sat in Szayel's Garden while most of Chinmoku remained in the Soul Society - Not primed for battle...But a prisoner. "I can hear you..." he whispered. "Barely...But, I can hear you..." He ran his thumb across the serrated edge of the tsuba. Chinmoku's voice was a faint whisper, as he closed his eyes in meditation.

With conflicting feelings spinning through her mind at being left alone last night, Yumiko wandered through the garden, considering if she could do anything for Nanao. After she had been pushed out of the room, Yumiko had nearly turned to the other entrance, but when Loki’s presence had appeared in her ‘sight’ from that direction, she had retreated. Hoping she wouldn’t hear screaming. She hadn’t. She hadn’t heard anything. Until she fell asleep and was pulled into nightmares of Kita’s own screams and Aizen’s pleasure. Yumiko didn’t sleep or stay in her room long after that. She couldn’t. And even if Aizen had touched in the garden, she was drawn there again. It didn’t seem to matter. It remained one of her refuges.
Yumiko stopped, suddenly sensing another presence by the lake as she drew near. She looked around and finally saw Vale’s slumped form in the shadow of one of the trees. His energy was muted or reduced. She couldn’t tell. She frowned, worried in spite of what he had done to Kita and Orihime. It was like even his energy was disappearing into the shadows.
What had happened to him in the attack of Soul Society?

Vale opened his eyes, lifting and turning his head to view the other presence in the garden. "Yumiko..." He forced a smile. "How goes being a thorn?" he asked, closing his eyes and hanging his head again. He raised his hand and spoke softly. "If you've come to yell at me about the hole in your room, I'm sorry."

Yumiko chuckled. “If I was going to yell at you, Vale, I think it would be when you had more energy to you and you appeared a threat.” She sat down across from him, folding her hands in her lap. “Orihime’s worried about you.”
Vale scoffed, eyes still closed. Yumiko’s frown deepened. She shouldn’t feel anything for this man after all the pain he’d caused, yet here she was worried for him. Was it because of her talk with him? Or was it because he had stopped hurting Orihime? Maybe she wanted to solve the enigma of his seemingly shifting personality. Distant to aloof and disdainful, blunt to violent, understanding to twisting the mind. For some reason, she couldn’t get him out of her head.

Vale furrowed his brow. "Are you worried about me, Yumi? Is that why you're here?" He opened his eyes to see her sitting before him. Smiling. "And, if you are, stop."

Yumiko didn't move from her place. "One good turn deserves another, even more so in these twisted halls," she said quietly. When Vale opened his eyes again, she rose and walked over to a nearby rosebush, running her hand through the petals.

Vale watched as Yumiko plucked a rose from its stem and took in its fragrance. "Are you really so willing to look past all I've done, because I am in a weakened state?" He hug his head once more. "You take pity on a fool, Yumiko. You are too kind." A sharp wave of pain courses through him causing his body to shudder. He lifted his head slightly and glanced in her direction, hoping she hadn't seen his sudden spark of pain.

“I’m asking myself the same question,” Yumiko responded, still looking at the rose in her hand, “but I suppose I am.” As he shuddered, Yumiko’s hands tightened around the rose. “Maybe I just don’t like to see pain,” she murmured softly, half to herself. “And maybe…”
Maybe it’s because there might be something different in you than the one who broke my heart.

He shook his head. "Maybe? I don't like maybes. They imply uncertainty." Vale rested his head against the tree. "...Why...I want to know why, Yumiko. I tried to kill you during one of our meetings. Kindness is not how you return that favor." He tapped on the the hilt of Chinmoku. "Why?"
