"NO!" Kita yelled spinning on her heels to look at Sumi again. "NO! I AM NOT STRONG! WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP TELLING ME I AM STRONG?!"
Tears trickled down her cheeks. "I am not STRONG. I am far from it. I rely on everyone else to pull me through. I can't protect myself. That's why Gin is in the mess he is in is because of me. If I had only listen to him and stayed away." She fell to her knees and cried into her hands.
"And now... Now I can't even tell him I am sorry for all of this. Izuru is in danger. Rangiku is dead. All because of me. Because I ran off and Aizen came looking for me. If I had only stayed. If I had only listened to Gin. AGAIN. He should beat me. He should beat me until I can't move. I took the most important people in his life and put them in harms way."

Sumi walked over to her squatting down beside her, her hand to Kita's shoulder. "Yes Kita. You are. You would not be my vessel if you were not. And you are not to blame for what happen to Rangiku and Izuru. Aizen wants to break Gin. He would have done this with or without you running away."
"But Rangiku." Kita whimpered.
"She is still holding on. Ulquiorra's javelin did do damage and they are healing her the best they can, but her heart is weakened by the blow. Rangiku is strong as well and though I cannot tell you if she will live or die. I can tell you she is fighting."

Kita looked to Sumi and nodded. "Since I won't be able to... Will you please tell Gin that and tell him I am sorry."
Sumi shook her head as she took Kita's hand and helped her stand. "You can tell him yourself when this is over and Gin knows in his heart that Rangiku is a fighter and she is strong. He won't let her go that easily. Just like Tsukiro will not let you go."
Kita nodded again drying her tears. "She will pull through this. Tessai and Orihime will make sure of it."

Sumi smiled softly at Kita and nodded. "Why do you think I allowed you befriend all of them? Including Gin. They are good people and would never put you in harms way. And they all love you in their own way. Besides the strength you already possess they are your added strength. They are your family."Kita looked to Sumi and gave her a brighter smile. "Will you tell Gin that you saved me and that he was not forgotten? Will you inform him of what you have done?""Yes." Sumi told her smiling softly as she cupped Kita's cheek gently. "I cannot allow Aizen to break Gin either. He is the only one that can stop him. It is written in his destiny." Sumi brushed her thumb over Kita's busted lips as the injury healed, fading like it was never there. She then healed Kita's eye. Seeing the mark on her neck from Vacanze she chuckled softly. "I think I will allow that one to heal on its own. That Espada has proven to be highly attached to you. You have a real protector within him." Her head tilted slightly as Kita looked at her. "A friend? With an espada?" Kita asked.Sumi nodded taking both her hands. She looked into her eyes still smiling. "Are you ready to return to your hell?"Kita shook her head as Sumi chuckled softly and cupped her cheek again. "You are strong, remember that. And he is waiting for you."Sumi waved her hand above them as an image formed in the clouds. In it she saw Gin sitting on the edge of the bed next to her still lifeless body. He was waiting for her to wake up. She looked to Sumi and nodded. "Yes, I will return to him."Sumi nodded and gently squeezed her hands. "Very well then."The bright glen disappeared and Kita once more found herself floating in the dark void between life and death.~END RP~ "Step out of Oblivion":

Gin didn’t avoid Kita long. After a long, sleepless night and hazy day, during which he stayed in his room, he remembered that Szayel needed to extract her blood, and that wasn’t all. As much as he wanted to forget meeting her, part of that person was still the Kita he had promised to protect. Rising from the blank console he had been staring at, he unlocked his room and left, striding purposefully down the hallway.
In a day’s time, his nonchalant grin no longer pained him. Nevertheless, he doubted the dark amusement with the word had resurfaced in his burning eyes. His mask stayed firmly in place as he opened Kita’s door.
The Septima had left, probably to find food since she would awake soon. His fingers clenched around the handle momentarily before he entered. The door slid shut and locked as he took a seat at her side. Waiting for the inevitable change. He would get used to this new poison.
He had to.

It was not long after Sumi released Kita from the void her eyes fluttered open and she looked up at the man sitting next to her.
"Ichimaru?" A soft spoken and gentle voice spoke to him.
Gin's head whipped around and looked at the woman sitting up in the bed.
"You do remember me, correct?"

He sneered. "Hard to forget when you challenge a goddess," he snapped. He rose from his chair and waved down at her. "Get up. I don't care what face you wear. We have business in the lower levels." |

Sumi shook her head. "Sit down, Ichimaru. You and I have things to discuss."
She moved herself around and sat up on the edge of the bed looking back at Gin as he stood in front of her.
"Don't look at me like that. I am not the one to blame here. If it were not for me. Kita would be lost right now to you and to everyone else. Sit."
She demanded of him pointing at the empty spot next to her.

"What do you mean would be?" he asked slowly, still in the same angry tone. When she indicated the place next to her on the bed, he smirked nastily. "I am not in the mood for taking your body, so don't tempt me," he hissed. "What did you mean?"

Sumi laughed. "Men are so full of themselves. To think the Seraph would desire such things." She shot up off the bed and stepped up in his face. "Kita is safe. I was able to stop Aizen's little pill from claiming her memories. That is what I mean." Her hand flicked to her side as she turned and stepped away from him.
"However, to keep this from happening again I have blocked the memories that Aizen will be watching for so he can turn them on you and her."

Sumi gently pulled her arm from Gin as she turned looking at him. "It will last until she is free from Las Noches. Aizen will have nothing to use against her or you. She will see you as only her Master and her as your Pet."
She smiled slyly. "I could not give Aizen the luxury of her memories being gone and taking away what makes Kita who she is. So you will have Kita. She will not change any other way. She will still be the sweet loving young girl you love to torment and will always treasure."

“Don’t go putting words in my mouth,” he fired back. “I don’t treasure her. She’s just …” he waved his hand, “someone more than tolerable,” he finished lamely. He scoffed as the goddess raised her eyebrow in the much the same way the shopkeeper would raise his hat after one such telling statement. It showed how far Aizen's treachery had stunned him that he was enjoying the parallelism. His eyes sparked with amusement at himself.
A momentary frown appeared on Gin's face a moment later. “What happens when you are separated from her?” he asked, slight grin shifting back into place.

Sumi smiled at him shaking her head. "You think you can fool a Goddess, Ichimaru?" She chuckled lightly, "Your façade only works on those that don't know everything about humans and souls alike. As for your question." she walked over sitting back on the beds edge.
"Her memories will remain blocked until I see it is time to unblock them. As long as I do not die. Kita will be free of her memories." She folded her hands on her lap and looked down at them. "But I can only protect her so much. When I return her memories. She will remember everything."
