Post by Captain Ryo Hirabayashi on Mar 15, 2015 8:07:17 GMT -6
Ryo let the cool of Captain Hitsugaya's freezing rain flow over her, as she continued to absorb the blaze burning away at the Soul Society. She pointed Sekijouten upward and released the stores energy in her blade. But, with as quickly as the fire burned, she was absorbing the fires energy far faster than she could release it.
She fell to her knees, slightly overwhelmed and overflowing with energy. Ryo rose slowly before falling back down from the searing pain in her hip and leg. She looked down to see bone breaking skin. "Damn it. " She called for Captain Komamura. Then, looked to her right to see him pulling the Captain Kyoraku and Lieutenant Ise from the rubble of the first division.

Sajin howled as he lifted and threw a beam of the First Division. He gently lifted the Captain Commander, as to not do anymore damage to the broken man. "Captain..." he said, his voice almost a whimper. Lieutenant Ise shifted beneath him and reached out to Sajin. "Lieutenant Ise. How badly are you injured?"
The Lieutenant shook her head, wiping the blood from her face. "Focus on the Captain Commander, Captain Komamura. Please."
Sajin's ears twitched to the sound of Captain Hirabayashi calling his name. He looked in her direction, to see her fall to the ground in pain. As their eyes met, Sajin cradled the Captain against his chest and lifted Lieutenant Ise to his shoulder. He nodded to Captain Hirabayashi as he rose to his feet slowly and headed toward the Fourth Division.

Post by Lt. Nanao Ise on Mar 16, 2015 10:23:21 GMT -6
Pale-faced with shock and keen fear, Nanao kept one of her hands wrapped around her captain’s haori, listening to his faint heartbeat, clinging to the hope that fate wouldn’t be so cruel as to take another commander from the Gotei so soon. She barely registered her own wounds, how Komamura’s gentle pace sent agony through her ribs and arms. Her spectacles nearly fell off a few times, but she didn’t care. She couldn’t lose Shunsui yet. Not yet. Not ever. “Hang on, Lieutenant, we’re almost there,” the low rumble of the Captain Komamura’s voice called out to her.
Nanao nodded. “I told you I’m fine,” she stated in a near cold voice. She didn’t want to be distracted. Her heartbeat jolted as the pulse of her friend and captain faltered again. And again. “NO! CAPTAIN! DON’T GIVE UP!”
She scrambled down from Komamura’s shoulder as he set Shunsui on a stretcher, lurching forward to grab the haori of her leader, stomping over her glasses in the process. “DON’T YOU DARE!” she screamed into the captain commander’s ghostly white face. “You don’t get to save me and then disappear where I can’t lecture you on your stupidity!"
Someone, someone had to stop this nightmare.

Post by Captain Tsukiro Ashimitsu on Mar 17, 2015 19:14:10 GMT -6
Digging through rubble, fallen walls, and rooftops Tsukiro's hands were blistered and bleeding, his hair singed his arms not looking much better than his hands as he dug toward the screams and cries of the ones buried alive and even the ones with a hint of reiatsu that called out to him because their injuries were too severe to do anything but hope someone would find them before they expired.
He left fighting the fire to the ones with the abilities to do just that. However, Captain Hirabayashi was removed from the fight prematurely due to injury as well. Leaving only Captain Mutsu, Captain Hitsugaya and the Master Kido welders in charge of the raging inferno. How he wished Captain Commander Yamamoto was still around. His strong fire zanpakuto would have put the Soul Society's wild fire to shame.
Flipping a piece of the roof off the top of a screaming woman from squad seven, Tsukiro offered his hand to her as he help pull her from her could be grave.
"Are you alright?" He asked her. She nodded to him thanking him for his help. He only smiled in return. "If you are up to it we need more hands in finding the injured. Do you think you could do that?" She returned his smile and nodded. "Good." Tsukiro remained to smile though he badly wanted to scream for the Hell that was placed upon them.
Watching the woman turn and run off to go lend a helping hand, Tsukiro sighed heavily as he looked at the burning structures crumbling around them. Screams and cries of the fallen still echoed around them and the death toll was climbing quickly with each fallen rooftop or wall that was turned over. What kind of animal would do something like this? Were the Espada even more ruthless than he originally believed? He thought they only acted on Aizen's orders, but he was dead. Why? Why did they attack? Why did they do this? With many unanswered questions Tsukiro turned looking back over his shoulder seeing his lieutenant, and life time best friend taking a deceased woman from under the debris of a near by structure.
He dropped his head running his tattered and bleeding fingers through his hair, another heavy sigh escaping him.
Why?

Post by Lt. Kairo Namori on Mar 18, 2015 11:59:45 GMT -6
Kairo laid the woman on a clean patch of grass and rose, looking at the line of dead he had found before turning around and returning to the rescue efforts, all without a word. Two stealth members appeared in front of him and he nodded towards them, following them to another corner of the meadow.
His swift order to set up healing stations of their own, not leaving all the healing and injuries to the overflow of the Fourth Division, had been fulfilled and half a dozen members were staunching the worst of the bleeding. Another two or three were applying first aid. The focus here was of survival, not recovery. Kairo turned to the two who had escorted him, making the hand signals to ask the question of how many such tents they had been able to build. One signed back: three. He nodded again.
And without a word, he called on Shiroi, kneeling by two injured, one with a head wound and one with worrisome bruises and bleeding in her side, breathing unevenly. He set one hand on each. The darkness in the head wound made his head spin. Narrowing his eyes, he poured more power into it, tightening his control on the flow. Finally, the man stirred before falling asleep again. He could do no more. The woman’s breathing eased soon after.
Kairo cut off the flow of his energy and took a tablet from the stealth member at his side, eating the bitter pill to regain his energy faster. He left the tent.
Standing still for a moment, he vanished a moment later, seizing and pulling two soul reapers roughly away before a barracks building finally collapsed with a louder rumble.
His steely green eyes narrowed. Ignoring the acknowledgement of the two he had rescued, he called another stealth member to his side. “Get the word out. Any building near a fallen one could be compromised. Stay out until cleared by 12th division.” The female nodded and vanished.
His shoulder wound from the initial blast burned. Face hardening further, Kairo moved to the next implosion.
Why were the Gods so fond of tearing good fortune away one more time before the end?
If it was the end...

In another location ......
Vacanze rushed through the gate with Yumiko still on his back as a burning building collapsed not to far from them. His eyes grew wide as he looked around at what was the Soul Society. Crumbled building, fires burning all around them with screams and cries for help. Vacanze let Yumiko slip down off his back as she too was just as astonished as he was at what she was looking at.
"What happened here?" Vacanze murmured.
Yumiko only shook her head as she let her eyes scour the area. Vacanze grabbed a soul reaper as they scrambled past them. "What happened?"
"We were attacked by an Espada. Bombs went off everywhere. People are dead and hurt everywhere. Word is Captain Commander was killed."
"WHAT! KYORAKU! KILLED?!" Vacanze released the soul reaper as they rushed off, his hand raised as he combed his fingers through his hair. "Fuck! This is not good."
Vacanze looked to Yumiko as she wandered off from his side as she looked around. Quickly but gently he grabbed her by her elbow to stop her. "Yumiko. Don't wander too far. Juushiro would kill me if I let something happen to you."

Yumiko nodded, only half hearing him, as Vale’s words echoed in her mind. “If Aizen has taught you anything…. It should be that the truth of this world…. That’s what people are unprepared for. …. You want that bullshit comforting lie that all the world is good and evil can be extinguished. Well, guess what?” “Here I am. And here I will stay…” Yumiko muttered to herself. She swallowed the bile rising in her throat with difficulty and took an unsteady step forward. “We still need to see Kita….” she said over her shoulder, walking on. This wasn’t a place to stop. She started trembling but pushed Vacanze’s help away. She had to do this on her own. Yumiko managed a few steps before the shaking of her body compounded and forced her to her knees, right in front of the dead body of a soul reaper with wide eyes. Frozen, she could nothing but stare back. Why had he done this? Was it her fault? Another building falling in the distance shook her mind free, and she raised a quaking hand to his face, closing the eyes. She lowered her face to her hand and then stood again, looking over at the destruction. This wasn’t her fault. She knew that both of her lovers were beasts…. but she had needed what relief they offered … in the beginning. She lost the battle with her stomach and turned away from the body, hurling up her dinner. She let it happen, crying softly. Letting it expel more than her horror and nausea…. Two strong hands grabbed her shoulders again. “Are you alright now?” Vacanze asked. Yumiko nodded and straightened, wiping her mouth. She looked to her escort, before she heard a louder cry of help from nearby. “Kita can wait,” she said and shunpo’ed over to a building. Drawing Mizue no Kagami, she reached for the person behind the cry. They weren’t that far underneath. “We’re coming,” she called back. She stepped back and gathered her reiatsu, letting it stream through Mizue no Kagami with no restraint, shaping it with determination. Ignoring the spikes of pain in her hands. Her sword flared and the wind around her picked up as the wild form of Tenran shaped in a wind snake formed. She unleashed it on the top layer of the rubble, flinging it into the sky. She then unleashed a large bolt of Kido to pulverize it. I won’t be that same person ever again.

Post by Urahara Kisuke on Mar 20, 2015 22:46:18 GMT -6
"Last Shot: Aftermath": (continue) Stepping from the gate Kisuke and Tessai were horrified at what was set before them. The entire Soul Society was in ruin, engulfed in flames, building destroyed some half standing. Bodies lined the ground of dead shinigami, injured and mortally wounded moaned and cried out for help as they aided the ones they past on their path to the fourth division. Soon after, Kisuke and Tessai parted ways, going off in opposite directions helping where they could. Hours upon hours pasted as the sun finally set, and the wee hours of morning where creeping up on them. They only thing that lit their way was the blaze of the fire still burning, hot and bright, lighting the paths for all to see. However, their work was far from ending. After all had settled with the ones that had been found and healed to a stable point, Kisuke and Tessai stepped up taking action and rallied the willing and able. Assigning a lieutenant or seated officer to each group they sent out the groups looking for any survivors that may have been over looked. Tessai stayed with the ones searching as Kisuke moved on to the fourth division to check on two of his oldest friends and his beloved adopted daughter.

“Impeding the Inferno”: (continue)
Toshiro had been stretching his reitsu out as far as he could for hours, but as he gazed down below his he could see a lot still burning. Hyourinmaru should have been able to extinguish them already. Why were the still spiraling out of control? He pushed out every last ounce of power that he could muster, but it proved to be too much. He had been up there too long.... His vision started to lose focus as his mind darkened. The last thing he felt on his skin was the rush of the wind as he started to plummet to the jagged rubble below.
Just moments before impact he regained his consciousness in time to avoid major damage. He twisted his body as best he could and landed hard on his back and shoulder. He rolled over and looked up at the sky as the rain started to slow to a drizzle. His mind wondered.....how many people had he lost? Had they lost? Where was Rangiku and Shizuka? He was happy that Momo, Kita, and Karin were safe. Then his mind wandered to her. Why did that have to happen? He lay there and listened to the cries of the injured and the dying, to the roar of the flames, and the crumbling of buildings. In the pit of his stomach, as he lay there too exhausted to move, he knew that this was just the beginning. Darker times were surely ahead of them.
He closed his eyes to rest for a bit. In the dark he saw a face, it was blurry, but it was there. It was a woman. She was smiling at his, and his gut told him he knew her, but he had never seen her before......who was she?

Post by Kita Miyamoto on Mar 21, 2015 19:20:19 GMT -6
Kita had made her way from the fourth division out into the front courtyard. The sky was blacker then normal, no stars could be seen from the black smoke that still boiled up from the burning buildings. Closing her eyes she lifted her head to the faintly falling rain from the clouds above, her eyes slowly opening when she saw what looked to be a body falling from the clouds. She could not make out who it was, but she could tell it was person none the less.
Quickly she darted pasted the people still rushing into the fourth for help as she ran the direction of where she believed the body fell. When she arrived where she thought it fell she found Toshiro laying laying in the ground his eyes closed. She quickly ran toward him placing her hand to his chest.
"TOSHIRO!" She immediately started to search his body for any injuries to heal him when he did not answer right away. "Dear God Toshiro please be alright." She mumbled softly still checking him over.

A voice pulled him from his dream, that and the fact that whoever it was had their hand on his chest, which was currently sore from the impact. He peeked his eyes open and saw Kita, "That hurts ya know." he mumbled.

Kita startled pulling her hand back quickly and blushed slightly as she sat back from him instead of hovering over him. "I...I'm sorry. Are you alright? All but being a little sore?" Toshiro nodded as he started pushing himself up from the ground. "I can help with that soreness if you would like me to?" Kita told him as he sat up and looked at her. He winced slightly grabbing his chest as Kita resting her hand to his shoulder.
"Lay back down. Let me take some of that soreness from you."

Toshiro cringed in pain as she touched his shoulder, "The soreness is fine, but you could help with getting my shoulder back into place....I missed my landing." He said as he braced it, "The sooner I can get back to the fires the better. The fires.....I don't understand.....Hyourinmaru should be able to put them out no problem.....why aren't they?"

"These fires are not normal. I can tell that and I am human. They burn even when there is nothing left to burn." Kita placed her hands to his shoulder. One to the front, one to the back and let the healing powers flow through her into his shoulder letting it slide easily into place without further pain to Toshiro.
"I don't know what it is, but its like it is feeding on the energy around it." Kita looked off in the distance as she watched the flames still burning on a completely burned and destroyed building. "Look at it," she pointed at the building. "That fire should not be burning that high or that hot. It should be cinders and still it rages like its a new fire."

Vacanze was rushing around looking for Yumiko, but will the panic and the high energy reiatsu all around him, fighting against the fire he was having a hard time locating her. As he darted into a clearing he looked to his left seeing Kita along with Captain Hitsugaya. It seemed he was injured and she was helping him, but wait? What was Kita doing there and in the middle of this mess.
Sonidoing over to Kita's side, Vacanze looked at the two of them. "Everything alright over here?" He squatted down and took Kita's hand in his. "You're as cold as ice. How can that be this is fire raging around you?" His tone was concerned as he let his powers flow through him to her to warm her up and he slowly stood bring her with him. With his other hand he brushed her hair from her face.
"Have you been pushing yourself with Sumi's healing powers? You know it wears you thin."
