Kita's look jerked from what was the form in front of her to the form now perched on a powerline a few hundred feet from her. She nodded in understanding to her lover, lifting her hand to open a gate with no avail. She growled under her breath she was so used to Sumi being with her at all times she had forgotten she had taken leave of her earlier. With haste, Kita took off from in front of the flower shop, heading back to Urahara Shop.

"Fudge Brownie":Vale woke in his room. What seemed like hours passed, was only a few minutes. He shot up on the bed, his head pounding. Once he opened his eyes, they focused on the familiar setting of the flower shop. His flower shop. Chuckling, he fell back to the bed. "A cruel joke..." Closing his eyes, Vale let himself drift in the memories of his surroundings. "Is it worth it?" questioned the god of fire, breaking the silence of the room. His eyes fell to the Shinigami on the bed. "Is it?""The Soul King's curse?" Vale grew silent. After a few moments, he answered Alister's question. "He has cursed me with an existence I already faced. Kita does not love me. And, even if I restored her place with Ichimaru, I would still be...alone.Yumiko does not love me. All I have in this world, is the child she carries. A child that Ichimaru will bond with, if I return Kita to him." "You do this because you fear being alone?" The god crossed his arms over his chest. He hummed lowly, shaking his head at the Shinigami. "Alone? No. I came to terms with my being alone, back when I was with Yumiko...Here." He sighed heavily, raising a hand an pointing to the ceiling. "...Let her go..." "Excuse me?""Let her go...I've gotten what I need from the Soul King. But, please...Ask the goddess to keep their memories. I do not want Ichimaru..." Vale sat up on the bed. "Make sure he stays away from my son." "You will return for his birth, yes?" As the Shingimi rose from his seat on the bed, Alister stepped toward him. "If you love her, why not go back to her?"Vale did not answer, only shaking his head before disappearing from the room.

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: Deep RenewalEpisode 363 "Things Will Only Get Harder": Vale ran a finger along a dusty countertop as he walked through his old home. He found himself smiling as he recalled his time there. Made human by the god Alister, Vale lost both his memories and Shinigami powers. He couldn't remember just how long he had been here. But, he knew that he was happy. Vale stopped in front of a mirror. He wiped it clean. "Hm..." he hummed to himself, taking in his reflection. He appeared smaller and looked a bit frail. But, he did not feel that way. "You look rough..."Vale turned to his right, finding the young Urahara leaning against a wall looking at him."And you, unfortunately, look like your father." "What are you doing here, Vale?" asked Kenji, folding his arms over his chest."You're being a real dick for a homeless man, Urahara Boy..."

"I'm not homeless..."
"Whatever..."
Kenji sighed and pushed himself off the wall. "Mom and dad...How are they?"
"I don't know. I don't give a shit about them."
"But you give a shit about me?" Kenji smiled wide and pointed a finger. "Vale cares!"
Vale groaned. "You can shut the fuck up, you man child." He mocked Kenji by pointing a finger. "I am here because people I give a shit about are worried about your stupid ass."
"They're not too worried!" shouted Kenji. "No ones come looking for me!"
"I'm here you dumbass!" Vale picked up a dusty book that was lying on top a table and threw it at Kenji. "And, for fucks sake, Kenji...You're not exactly making any attempts to conceal yourself. Everyone in that house knows where you are. Hell! Even Kadaj could find your untrained ass!"
Kenji turned, trying to avoid the book Vale threw. But, it hit him in the shoulder. "I can't do something I don't know how to do!"
Vale walked over to Kenji and tapped on his forehead. "That's my point, dumbass! Your body might belong to a twenty years old. But, you're twelve up here." He kept tapping Kenji on the forehead. "You don't know how to do shit. And that bothers you, doesn't it?"
"Yes!" Kenji swatted at Vale's hand. "I'm a grown man. And...and...and I don't know how to do anything! I'm supposed to be an Urahara! And, I can't even do that! What the fuck is wrong with me, Vale?"

Vale sighed and plopped down in an empty chair. He scratched his head. "Kenji...I'm not good at giving advice. So, I'll tell you a story."
"I don't want to hear a story, Vale."
"Tough shit." Vale glared across the room and stared until Kenji walked over and sat across from him. Both men were quiet for a while. "There was this Captain, right. Seto Tetsuya. He was strong and a good Captain. At one point, he believed himself to be a good man. But, he was...uh...Not all there. He had qualities that would better suit the standards of the first Captains." Vale chuckles. "His bullshit didn't quite make sense with the standards of the time. One day, he losses his shit and goes on a spree. Kills half of his division and was going after more before being stopped by Ukitake. They damn near killed each other. The uh...crazy Captain got away and uh...He endured a lot of shit after that."
"What happened to him?"
Vale shrugged. "Uh...I changed my name and hid in Las Noches...Fell in love. Had a kid with the wrong woman. Made a deal with a god...A bunch of bullshit really."
Kenji raised an eyebrow. "Alright...What's the lesson here? Why did you tell me that story?"
Vale was quiet for a moment. "I don't know. I told you that I'm not good at giving advice."
"What would you tell your son in this situation?"
"Kadaj?"
Kenji slid to the front of his seat. "Do...Do you have more than one son?"
Vale shrugged. "I don't know...Kenji I ended up doing some shit no one expected because no one knew what demons polluted my thoughts."
"You've got demons in your head?!"
"You...You can not be that stupid..."

Kenji slid back in his seat. "I'm not stupid, Vale." he mumbled. "You want me to talk to someone."
Vale nodded. "You should probably talk to the one person you think won't listen."
"My dad doesn't care."
Vale laughed, placing a hand to his chest. Every time Kenji opened his mouth to speak, he laughed louder. "The top three things your father cares about...You, your mother, then everyone else. In that order. Kenji, I can tell you that your father loves you. If he could have, he would have swapped places with you. He is heartbroken over what you've been through...How you feel..." Vale looked at the boy whose gazed was focused on the floor. "He doesn't know how to fix it, Kenji. But, he wants to try. I think you should let him."
"What if I'm a disappointment? What if, after everything, I'm the weakest Urahara? Right now, I can't say I'm on the track to be better than my father. I don't even understand the powers I get from my mother."
"Oh...That's right." Vale smiled. "Your mother is a fine pussy..." he felt the Urahara boy staring. "Cat...demon...thing..."
"You're an ass."

Vale sighed as he pushed himself up on his feet. He stretched, swinging his arms above his head and groaning. Looking at the Urahara boy, he sighed again. "Get up." He said, walking over to Kenji. "Get up..." Vale grabbed the Urahara boy by the collar of his shirt and pulled him to his feet. Vale looked the boy in the eyes before letting him go. "Go home, Kenji."
"No..." Kenji fixed his shirt. "They don't want me there. And, I need to do my own thing. I think-" Kenji's words were cut short. Vale punched him in the face. He stumbled backward and held his jaw. "Vale..." he said spitting blood into his hand. "What's wrong with you?!"
"Go home.." Vale struck the boy again, this time to the body. He watched as the boy fell to the floor. "Go.."
"Vale..." Kenji crawled back and away from Vale. "Stop it!"
Vale released a wordless kido, sending a wave up electricity through the boy's body. He watched the boy twitch on the floor. "Your father will be here any second now. He can feel his boy's pain. Now either you're going to go willing. Or, I will knock your ass out so you have no choice!"
"What's wrong with you?!" shouted Kenji. He rose to his feet quickly. "Why are you doing this?!"
"Because things only get harder, Kenji! And, you can't keep running away from shit." Another wordless kido dropped the boy to his knees. "So, what are you going to do?"

Kenji held his left side. It hurt. Vale didn't hit him hard enough to break ribs. Just hard enough to drive his point home. "I know what you're doing, Vale. And, it won't work!" He stood tall and pointed a finger. "It won't work."
"No?" Vale tilted his head back and smiled. "Are you suddenly strong enough? Smart enough? No. The answer is no." Vale clapped his hands together and laughed. "No! You're not." he shunpo'd over to the boy and grabbed him by the arm. "You're a fucking fool!" Vale's words became sharp as he drove a heavy fist into the boy's already bruised side. "A disappointment." Another heavy fist. "The shame of the Urahara pride!" The boy fell to his knees at the third blow. Vale grabbed him by the hair and lifted him just high enough to whisper in his ear. "Weak..." he whispered.
Tears stung Kenji's eyes as Vale let him go to fall back to his knees. He wrapped his arms around himself as he struggled to breathe. Now his ribs were broken...He was sure of it. Kenji growled loudly as he struggled to stand. He was angry. And, for a brief moment, unafraid. He looked at Vale through glowing eyes. "I...am...not!!..." he growled. Taking a heavy step forward, Kenji found himself forcing Vale against the wall behind him with a hand he didn't recognize. Clawed and striped...Like a tiger.

"Shit!" cursed Vale as the back of his head hit the wall. He peered through the clawed fingers of the massive paw palming his face. "Fucking pussy!" he growled. Quickly, Vale turned the fur cover arm so that the elbow faced out. He slammed an open palm into the elbow as he slipped from out of its grasp. He struck again, this time he could hear the bone break. The Urahara boy growled loudly.
"You little shit..." mumbled Vale, wiping blood from his face. "The next time I tell you to go home," Vale raised a leg and kicked the boy with as much force as he could muster in his still weakened state. "Go!" The Urahara boy slammed into the wall across the room. "Oh you little fucker..." Vale's eyes darted around the room. He could feel the elder Urahara's reaitsu flare...A warning. "Fuck." he spat blood on the floor. Looking to the Urahara still lying on the floor he sighed. "Urahara boy...At least you know your starting point." Vale vanished from the room.

Kenji couldn't move. He didn't want to. Everything hurt. All he could do was cry. Through his tears, he looked over at his broken arm. "Dad..." his voice cracked as he coughed up blood. "I'm...so-" he coughed. "I'm sorry, dad. I don't mean to disappoint you. Don't...Don't be mad at me. I'll try...harder." He spoke to a man who was not in the room. But, in that moment, he felt like apologizing. Kenji rolled over onto his undamaged side and pushed himself up onto his knees. He was unable to stand to his feet. So, he held onto his broken arm.
Blood and tears ran down his face as he looked up to find his father. "You're here...?"

Kisuke looked down at his boy with a heavy heart. He had failed him in so many ways. Ways he was not sure if he would ever be able to correct, or if Kenji would even allow him to, but he had to try and the first step was to get them both back home.
First, Kisuke ripped a long wide strip of his haori free and turned it into a sling for Kenji’s broken arm, he then gently worked it around the boy's arm and tied it behind his neck. Kisuke then stepped up next to his son, turned, and kneeled beside him, he then took Kenji’s good arm, laid it across his shoulders, and slid his arm behind Kenji, careful of his broken ribs. When Kenji winced, Kisuke apologized. “Sorry,” he looked at his boy from under his hat before he started to stand. “Can you stand on both legs?”
When Kenji nodded Kisuke pushed them upward off the floor to a stand. Kenji groaned as they did. “You all right?” Kisuke looked over at his son.
“Yeah,” Kenji commented turning his head to look at his father.
Kisuke nodded and took a step forward as Kenji growled in his chest.
“Dad,”
“Hmm,” Kisuke pushed forward.
“I’m really sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for, son.” A tear rolled down Kisuke's cheek as he looked at his son, "It’s me that is sorry.”

"Please don't do...do that.." Kenji winced in pain with each step they took. "You don't have to apologize for anything..." Every step brought a wave of pain. Kenji and his father didn't get far before he had to stop. "I can't..." His knees went weak and gave from beneath him. But his father held on. "I can't. It hurts to walk. Can you wait for a minute? Or get Tessai to help?"
"I won't leave you here." Kisuke shook his head. "If Vale comes back..." Kisuke's eyes narrowed.
"He won't do anything, I think." Kenji looked at his father. "He got what he wanted. I'm going home..." Kenji pulled his arm from his father's shoulders and slid down to the floor. "I meant what I said at the Captain's Meeting, Dad. I'm scared...And, I hate that I am. You and mom and everyone...You guys just deal with this stuff like it's nothing. How come it doesn't bother you? How come you can just...file it away?"

“Is that what you think? That we deal with it like it’s nothing?” Kisuke chuckled inwardly and adjusted his hat. “I wish that were the case. I am shocked I am not bald, or your mother hasn't left me yet.”
He sat down beside his son, crossing his legs, one over the other, and removed his hat, resting it on his knee. “Why do you think I built the underground training field?” he chuckled again, “besides the obvious, and I don’t know if you ever noticed, but my lab is soundproof.” He looked over at his son. “Everyone has their own way of dealing with things. Some bottle it up. Some wear it on their sleeve. Some vent while working out or in a sparring match and some are very explosive and take it out on anything and anyone.” He sighed and cast his eyes across the room. “Centuries of practice have taught us how to hide our emotions, how to be strong in the eyes of the ones that don’t know how to be strong or are just too scared.” He looked back at his son. “If you think for one moment, I am not worried or scared you are wrong. I have never been as scared as I was when I could not find or get to you.”

"Yeah but you never came." Kenji leaned against the wall behind him. "No one came. And, it's not like any of you talk about anything like this. You go off, fight, come back and have dinner like it was nothing. Or like its not going to happen again. Like...Like you were just going on until the next fight." Kenji felt a flash of anger.
"Did you and mom think of any of this before you moved me? And, if you did why didn't you do anything to train me? All the work you did with Ichigo and...and Gin...They could already protect themselves...What about your own damn son?!"

"I know you don't understand this, son but the weaker you were the safer you were. Aizen would have used you to the bitter end. Even to your death if you were trained into your powers." Kisuke sighed.
"If you want to know the truth. That was the only thing me and your mother did correctly in all this, and we didn't even mean to."
He looked over at Kenji. "Aizen only wanted you for your powers and when he learned you had no control over them, he lost interest in you, and me coming to your aid would have drawn unnecessary attention to you. I was so happy when your sister told me you were with her, but then you were taken away. These are the games Aizen likes to play with his captive and trust me Aizen told your sister several times, that he would kill you if she did not follow his orders. If he would have known where you were he would have followed through with that."
