"Selfish":Vale sat in the corner of his cell, his face pressed against the bar. Drifting in and out of sleep, he peered through blurry eyes at the guards outside of his cells. He sighed heavily as he lifted his bound hands to his face. He closed his eyes behind his hands, and let him fall asleep for a moment. An strange wave of heat stirred him from his weak sleep. "What do you want?" asked Vale, not opening his eyes to see who was there. But, he knew - It was Alister. He pushed himself from the bars, hanging his head as he remained against the cold cell walls. "Haven't you done enough?"

The god smirked as he appeared in front of the frail Tervaden. He knelt beside the renewed Soul Reaper. "Haven't I done enough?" asked the god. "This was done by the woman who claimed to love you. But, what type of love his this?" The god reached out, taking a hold of Tervaden's hand and pulling them away from his face.
"Ryouma claims to have loved you. But, she chose to have you tried so easily."
Tervaden lifted his head and looked to the god. "Have loved?"
"Do you think she loves you now? They know the truth. Surely, they've told her by now. Can you hear it, Tervaden? The sound of her heart breaking?" The god laughed, standing and stepping back from Tervaden. "If you had any hope of her saving you, I believe you are wrong."

"It wasn't easy for her to choose. I know it wasn't." Vale shook his head. "I don't believe you! I asked her not to barter with you. Ever! I know it wasn't easy for her to choose to put me here."
"Of course it was." added Alister. "To lose her sight. Or, have you punished for the crimes you committed. Crimes you should have already been tried for. I listened to the conversation between yourself, Urahara, Ukitake and Kyoraku. It is as I told them. Your sins, despite the good you have done, damned you without having to have anything to do with the events of that day."
"Then, that is my burden!" shouted Vale. He turned to the guards, forgetting briefly that time was stopped. "You do not place such a burden on her. Undo this. Now!"

"Un...do?" The god raised a brow at the demand. "Undo. Undo. No. I will not undo anything." The god lorded over Tervaden, smirking madly at the man. "This is necessary, Tervaden. The only means of escaping this fate, would be death. And, you are far too selfish a man to take your own life to save her from the pain you've caused."

Vale looked up to the god with wide eyes. "What...What if I did? What if I died? She wouldn't have to give testimony against me. Or, have to deal with this pain I've caused. Would she?"
Alister tried hard to conceal his smile, turning his back to Vale. "No. She wouldn't."
Vale lowered his gaze, trying to hide a smile of his own. "This is what you wanted...Isn't it?"

The god brought his hand to his chest in a dramatic fashion. "Me? No! I can not kill you. It goes against the laws of the gods." The god turned, glancing at Tervaden over his shoulder. "However, there are no laws stating that you can not take your own life. Or, that you can not die of an old wound. Say, one that I have taken from you."

"So...This is what you wanted." stated Vale. He pushed himself to his feet and shook his head. "What do you get out of this?"
Alister did not answer.
Vale stared at Alister, as he thought on the matter. He began to pace the cell, the chains around his wrist clanging as he moved about. "I need some things from you..." Vale pulled a chain from around his neck. On the chain was a ring. He handed it to Alister. "I was going to give this to Yumiko when we got home that night. Can you give it to her father, please?"
Alister nodded.
"See to it that the Captain Commander gets this." Vale pulled a folded piece of paper from his pocket.
"A confession?" questioned Alister. "You are strangely prepared for this, Tervaden."
"You can not do something stupid, without assuming you'll eventually get caught."

The god leaned forward, looking Tervaden in the eyes. "You want this?" he questioned. "You've planned for this? But, why? You love Ryouma. Why leave her?"
"She will never trust me again, Alister." answered Tervaden. "She will never love me the same. I have lost her again. Again. I'm starting to believe that the realms don't want us together." Tervaden sighed. "Do you think...Do you think I had stayed a Captain, and she and I met...Do you think we still be together?"
"No. You were never meant to stay a Captain, Tervaden." he swung the ring on its chain. "Is there anything else, Tervaden?"
Tervaden motioned for the god to come closer, and he whispered in his ear. The god pulled away with a nod, and placed his hand on Tervaden's side. Blood began to run over his fingers, as the wounds from Teruo's attack reappeared. He listened as the man's breathing became shallow and labored. The god caught Tervaden as he fell forward in his arms. He whispered in the man's ear. "First, the Captain Commander. Second, Sousuke Aizen. Then, Yumiko Ryouma. But, always...Me."

Alister lay Vale to the floor as death washed over him. "You...You..." his words came out mangled as blood ran from his mouth. "Yum...Rose..." The blood pooling around him rippled as Vale took his last breath. The god knelt down and closed the eyes of the now deceased Tervaden. "This was necessary, Tervaden. I do hope you understand that." The god looked to the items he held in his hands before looking back to the body that lay next to him. "Good bye, Tervadan."
The god faded from the cell, and time started to flow again.

"A Different Kind of Disturbance":Yorusuke paced the cell in the very division he served. Division Six. A place he had called home for many months now. It seemed things were getting crazy outside. Bombs and the howling of many Hollows rang around the Soul Society, and now a new howl filled the air. One that made his skin crawl and his blood turn to ice. It was not a normal Hollow howl. It was the howl of a demon, and a big one. The Ayakashi were on the move more than normal and the smell of death wafted in the air. It was pungent and it turned his stomach in ways he did not care to think of. Something bad was defiantly happen and he hated being locked in the cell while his friends were out there fighting for their lives and the sake of the Soul Society and Human realm. It was where he should have been. Not here. Not here stuck in this cell. Looking out the small window of his cell he saw one of the Ayakashi escorting--or well--in reality. He was struggling with one of his male comrades of the Gotei. What was going on he had no clue, but he was sure it was just the Ayakashi enforcing their dominance like they always were. Though with the battle raging out there as it was one never knew. He was going to yell out to them but decided to keep his mouth shut. The Ayakashi that he man was dealing with was the one they called Killian the ager. He really did not want to watch him make a comrade age to his death right in front of him. It was a sight he had already witnessed and one he wished he could forget. Hearing the door of the prison open Yorusuke tuned quickly only to see the fraccion that had been caring for him enter with a tray of food. He walked quickly to the bars and grabbed them his hands wrapping tightly around them. “What’s going on out there?!” The fraccion shrugged and sat the tray to the floor sliding it under the bars in the small area they created for a small tray to slide through into the cell. “It’s not my place to know that. I am here to serve my Master if he needs me. Not ask questions.” “DAMN IT!! I WANT TO KNOW!!” The fraccion laughed as he turned and walked back toward the door. “Well then maybe you should try to escape again.” With a grin across his face he turned and looked back at him. “With all the commotion going on today maybe you can to the gates this time and get a peek.” He exited the prison laughing at Yorusuke as he did. “BASTARDS!!” Yorusuke growled as he punched the wall next to him.

"Addressing the Anger":Ryo sat in her cell, her back against the bars of the cell. She rested her head against the bars behind her as she stared at her haori that was on the floor across the cell. "I don't want to talk about it." she whispered, hearing footsteps stop behind her. The figure standing behind her didn't say a word. But, she could hear a sigh. "What do you want me to say? I'm sorry? That would be a lie, Captain. But I will tell you that I am angry. I mean," Ryo pushed herself off the bars and turned to face the figure. "Honestly now, if I had not done this, would they be facing their crimes?"

Kisuke nodded his head slowly as he looked at her. "Maybe not like what you have wanted, but I believe we could have prosecuted everyone that has been in league with Aizen from the beginning of time, and you still would not have been happy."
She lifted from the bench where she sat and stepped up on the bars. "Is that what you think?"
Kisuke nodded his head slowly. "I do. You're mad at Aizen, which makes you mad at anyone that was or is associated with him." He paused and adjusted his hat as he looked the way of her husband as he entered the hall where her cell was. "Even some that has nothing to do with him."
He looked back at Ryo and smiled. "Punishing them will not alleviate the pain that that man caused on you. I believe it would only make it worse. Because you would know you are punishing the wrong person for the crime.”

Ryo shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "This isn't about him. This is about you doing what needs to be done about the people who attempted to destroy our home! You're different than Shunsui. He relied too heavily on the compassion of Juushiro. And, it made him weak in making decisions that needed to be made. You can fix this. You can make them pay."
"And, what happens when I do, Ryo?" asked Kisuke. "What happens when I make them stand for their crimes? My brother will never stand for his. You know he won't. And, going after them won't draw you any closer to getting to him. He does not care."
"Then what am I supposed to do?!" screamed Ryo. She walked over to the wall across the cell. "Watch as my people suffer?" She shook her head. "I won't just watch. I won't."

"Then don't, but do it the right way." When she turned back and looked at him he adjusted his hat to look at her. "Help me. No help us make the Gotei stronger. Focusing on the wrong things or on the wrong people will not make us stronger." He paused with a wide smirk.
"Let me share something with you I learned a very long time ago." He leaned closer to the bars. "Feed them the rope and in time they will hang themselves. However, this is a process that takes patience. Something most don't have." He chuckled lightly, "I guess being an inventor I have gained my fair share."
He stepped back as the guard walked up to the cell door and was about to open it. Kisuke clasping his hand to his shoulder before he unlocked it. "What will it be, Ryo? You know from the conversations we have had that I want to make change. I want to stop my brother just as much if not more than most." His head shook. "But if I have to fight another fellow Captain every step of the way because they want to take the law into their own hands." He paused, "...I won't do it. I won't channel energy in an area I should not have to."
