Ichigo continued to drift in an out of what was happening around him, focusing mainly on the man in pink and his orders to stay awake. He shook his head again. He’d nearly forgotten the captain commander’s identity. Kyoraku. His heartbeat started to race as he worried what else he could have forgotten. As the captain of the Fourth Division started poking him, he began muttering the names of those in his life, starting with his sisters.
Karin, Suz- no - Yuzu.
His mother.
Masaki. Quincy. Killed by the Grand Fisher.
Friends.
Tatsuki, Rukia, Renji, Orihime...
His teacher, Kisuke, would probably be kicking him in the back for this…
Ichigo groaned as he was lifted into a stretcher like some kind of invalid and his concentration sharpened again.
“Hey, Kyoraku?” he murmured, looking at the bright light above him. The commander moved into his view. “What happened to me?”
The man sighed. “I don’t know how, Kurosaki, but you were placed into the Eternal Prison in place of Sousuke Aizen. And whoever did it managed to insert the real Aizen inside of you.”
“Huh?” Ichigo blinked, getting creeped out. “How is that possible?”
“I don’t have any answers for that, but when Loki appeared at your place…”
A big hand pressed him down as he lurched at that, probably preventing him from falling on his ass, but he didn’t care. “Hime! Is she alright?” Ichigo hissed, eyes narrowing at the man in front of him. “What about Evita? Come on, Eve’s just a kid.”
“They’re both fine from what I know. Loki was there to spy on us, not steal them away.”
Ichigo let himself slump again.
He didn’t know if he could handle losing Orihime again, not now that he had finally let her in. And that strange kid was growing on him.
“Still… think you haven’t answered all of my question,” the substitute muttered, rubbing his eyes but pushing away the sun lenses. He really did not care for the darkness right now.
Another piece of information slid into place, and he scoffed to himself.
If this is anything like the sealing they had Yumiko in for decades, I am not underestimating her again. Fucking assholes!

“Do you really want to know?” Shunsui muttered, still by his head in order to continue listening to the boy and keep his mind alert until they had him installed at the Fourth Division.
Though it might make more sense to send him to Karakura and see if the Angel can help him or if family and teachers help. More strangeness might not help.
Ichigo shrugged limply. “I think I’d rather know—“ The Substitute started as someone set his black sword by his hand, eyes wide and a little terrified. “Okay, I take that back! I seriously need to know. For a moment there, I didn’t know Zangetsu.” His hand wrapped around his zanpakuto. “What the hell was that chair doing to me?!”
Shunsui sighed. He really didn’t have much choice.
“The Senzaikyu is no normal prison.” He heard the boy scoff bitterly. He didn’t blame him. “It chips away at your soul, from your memories, your personality traits, even the ability to function. It slowly eats away at all that you are. Leaving nothing but a blank slate wandering in a void of nothingness. Even less than human or a spirit.”
“How the hell am I talking then?” the boy snapped. Shunsui pressed a hand to his shoulder.
“Your reiatsu and inheritance helped, I think,” he continued. “You are part Quincy and your reiatsu is fused with reiryoku too. And for a time, it was eating away at a much older being. To put it in simple terms, the Soul Prison had more walls to chew on to get to the heart of you.”
“Not…. funny…” Kurosaki lisped, starting to slip again.
Isane injected a needle into Ichigo’s opposite arm, pushing adrenaline through his bloodstream. Ichigo started twitching again.
I am definitely dead meat.
“Tell me what happened, Kurosaki. Anything you can remember.”

A gate appeared in the prison, behind the stone chair. The gate consumed the width of the room, freezing the men as Vale stepped out. "My oh my. Look at what we have here." Vale drew Chinmoku, tapping on the hat of the still Captain Commander. He stood in front of the man, easing closer as his grin grew wider. "What's wrong Captain?" Vale drew back his fist before slamming it into the Commander's chest. The man flew backward into the stone wall. "Nothing to say?"
The man struggled to rise, coughing as time released its hold on him. "Tervaden." he coughed, picking himself off the ground. "You're trying my patience. Why come here?"
"Well, you see, its quite simple, Captain." began Vale. "I've got nothing better to do!" Vale called on Chinmoku's power, driving the cloud of shards toward the Commander. A move easily countered by the Commander's own release of power. Vale shunpo'd toward the Commander, striking the man through the shoulder with a partial blade. Slicing through the Commander's arm, Vale grabbed the hilt of the Commander's blade with his free hand.
"Now now, Captain." Vale kicked the Commander in the chest, as the man leaned forward and headbutted Vale. Both men stumbled backwards. Vale grunted as he locked eyes with the Captain Commander as they both rose to their feet. His eyes drifted to the extra blade at his side. "Oh look." Vale shunpo'd, shoulder first, into the Commander slamming the man into the wall. The clank of metal hitting the ground forced a grin from Vale, as he snatched the blade of the Substitute from the Commander's obi.
"That's one." Vale quickly tucked the blade into his obi. Turning his attention back to the Commander, Vale found the man's fist crushing his ribs. Vale laughed wildly as the Commander drove his fists into his sides relentlessly. A brief pause allowed Vale to surround the Commander in a cloud of Chinmoku.
As the cloud drew closer to the Commander, slicing into and tearing away his flesh, Vale shunpo'd over to the Commander's blade that still lay on the floor. He picked it up, and placed it into his obi next to Zangetsu. "I apologize for such a short meeting, Captain." said Vale, as his blade reformed. As the Commander moved quickly toward him, Vale opened a gate and stepped into it.
Smiling, Vale waved to the Commander as the gate closed.

Shunsui growled as the gate closed and time resumed. Isane gasped at all the blood, her expression torn between shock and pain at having to decide who to tend to. He waved his good arm, making the decision for her. “Continue to tend to the Substitute. It was merely a salutation skirmish.” She nodded and bowed over the boy one more time. Kurosaki closed his eyes. “ Fuck! And I was just about to tell you that I remember meeting Vale.” He clenched both of his hands. “Now, I owe him twice. Once for this shit and once for taking the Old Man. What the hell was up with that?” The commander set a hand on his remaining blade, for once grateful to be one of the rare zanpakuto users whose blade was dual in either form. Indeed, what was the purpose of such a little display? “Isane, stay with Kurosaki.” Before she could reply, he shunpo’ed to the tower entrance. Two of his guards appeared at his side, but one look quelled their questions. Ignoring them for a moment, he called a Hell Butterfly to him. “There’s a storm coming. I want a full report on all situations as they are within the next few hours and the preliminary barriers around the Fourth Division, Shin’o Academy, and Twelfth Division employed. Await further instructions and prepare for the worst.” He looked to the guards. “Send for Yoruichi Shihoin and tell Kisuke the time to attack is now.” He turned to another. “Tell Isshin Kurosaki he will not receive a personal visit from myself but his son will return home soon.” Spinning to the third, he sighed. “Tell my lieutenant I need the books and first aide when I return.” As his guards vanished and the hell butterflies started dispersing around the white city he ruled, the commander released another sigh. “Really, this job…. it’s a killer, and I pray I am wrong.” His eyes hardened a moment later. “But I’m not going to give it up after putting this much effort into it. There’s too much to lose. If you insist on knocking, Soul Society’s shield will answer you again, Vale Tervaden and Sousuke Aizen.”
