Tsukiro looked at them, his heart telling him to follow them so to keep Gin's hands off her, but then his talk with Kairo yesterday flashed in his mind. His head shook as he turned the opposite way they were going and started to walk off.
"I will pass. You're trying to heal him. I will only make you have to work harder or I'll drown his ass."
He disappeared off into the thick of the woods as Kita and Gin walked off toward the lake.

“Well something’s changed there,” Gin murmured, letting his head fall to Kita’s shoulder as they walked on. “Good, I’m not up to fighting another drowning.”
“Another?” Kita asked.
“Yesss,” Gin hissed. “I’ve ripped myself up enough by barely not succumbing to the lullaby of despair and slipping deeper into an abyss that exists inside me… exists but has lost its lure.” He kissed the back of her neck languidly. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” Kita murmured, brow furrowed at his talk.
“For forgetting you,” he whispered. “And tearing the flesh from your body again.” His eyes closed. “I’m glad Aizen can’t see the future.”
“That’s a good point, but what does that have to do with it?”
“He would have killed you before you could save me.” Gin passed out.

Gin's weight pulled her down as she struggled to stay on her feet. "Gin. Gin!" She called to him each time a little louder. Slowly she lowered him to the ground laying him out at her feet. She knelled down next to him with a sigh and let her healing powers flow deeper into him.
"And you say I am a pain in the ass. At least I am light enough to carry if I pass out." She giggled lightly as she sat next to him, her hand on his chest, her other hand brushing the hair from his face. Seeing a cut on his cheek she let her fingertip caress against it as it healed like it never existed. They stayed there for sometime as she let him rest and finished his healing.
When she was finished healing him, it was hours later, her legs were asleep and her powers wavering. Still waiting for him to wake, she started to softly hum a song she use to hum to Sojiro when he was younger. It use to calm him and help him sleep. Once he was asleep she would sit there and watch her little man sleep. She looked on at Gin wondering if Sojiro would grow up to look just like him. He already looked so much like his father it was scary.
"He will have to beat the women off with his sword if he does." She spoke aloud but still softly enough so not to disturb Gin in his slumber. She lifted her hand letting the back of her fingers caress his cheek as a sad smile formed on her lips.
"Why can't I remember you outside of this hell?" Tears formed in her eyes as one escaped and rolled down her cheek.

“Shhhh,” Gin murmured, walking slowly, instinctively lifting his arm to brush at the tears before his vision clarified. He blinked as another fell to his eye. “I won’t let him win. And then, when it’s over,” he lowered his hand to his chest, “you can have them back and decide if you still want me. After everything I dragged you into.”
He slowly sat up and leaned against a tree, taking Kita’s hand in his own. “You’ve always been a pain. Waking me from pleasant times because you were crying. Calling out to me when it would tear my soul to answer you. Demanding honesty in a world of lies.” He lowered his head to her shoulder. “It’s a small wonder I fell for you. So beautiful, so scared, but still so defiant.”
He chuckled quietly. “And I doubt Sojiro will have to beat women away because he looks like me. It’s the smile from you that will create trouble. That will negate the fear from looking so much like the capital traitor.”
“Don’t lose it. Don’t let him win. And don’t give up.”

Her head shook as she rested her head against his, "I will never let him win. He will never break me or my spirit. He has damaged me enough I won't let him have any more of me." She sighed as her head turned. She looked at the tree behind Gin her eyes focusing on the texture of the bark. Putting herself in a trance she started talking.
"I have lost myself to Vale. I have let him tag me. I have let him impregnate me. He has lead me around like a lost puppy and for what? He don't love me. He says he cares about me, but I am sure once my usefulness is up he will toss me away or kill me. Whichever he feels will suit him best at the time. He keeps me from the ones I care about the ones I love. If he cared he would let me be with them. I was told Vacanze is fighting some sort of brainwashing from Szayel. I was told to stay away from him because he might try to hurt me. He has beaten you a number of times because of me and other reason unknown to me. He just hates you with a passion and told me may times you did not love me or care about me. You were in love with the idea of what I have done for you. It was not who I am that you love." She continued to ramble as she stared at the bark on the tree.

Gin listened to her voice continued on and on about what he had not cared about since he had had his memories closed off. Recalling the terrible chain. And another time when she had been terrified of the strangeness of fate. When she had created Sojiro.
His hand released hers, making her gasp, but settled on her stomach before any true pain could settle in its place. “Sojiro is a blessing. I am sure Kadaj is, too. And what Tervaden has done to me is like rainwater in an overflowing gutter. Just another drop of pain in an attempt to control and shape me. It has not scarred me.” His hand lifted and he sat up, moving slowly so to keep her from starting. “You will find a way around Vacanze’s brainwashing. You’ve done it before. And there’s more than you who will fight for him. And finally,” his hand caressed her cheek, “I don’t want to hear about an idea of love from the likes of him.” He hesitated and then kissed her slowly on the lips, closing his eyes and wishing it would last. “Until we remember what we lost, Kita.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks as they kissed. When they parted she pushed forward and kissed him again, her arms wrapping around his neck as she pulled him closer. She leaned into him placing her weight on him as he grunted causing her to quickly pull back, her hand cupping his cheek.
"Did I hurt you?" Her tone worrisome, her hand dropping from his cheek as she quickly started to look him over. "Where does it hurt?" She lifted his rip and beaten clothing looking in the areas she was pressed against him.

Gin could feel himself harden beneath her but didn’t feel like ruining the gentle moment between them, half idle memory and part desperate present. As she pulled at his torn clothing to inspect his healing body, he tangled a hand up in her hair and finally pressed her head against his chest. “The heart, Kita…. it hurts there…”
Kita froze in his grasp, his steady but rapid heartbeat soothing her as her arms wrapped around his torso. She hugged him tightly a soft whisper slipping from between her lips. "Can I stop the pain?"
"Yes," Gin murmured, closing his eyes, taking a shallow breath, "if you kiss it there. If you stay by my side...."

Kita let her head turn, lifting her head slightly as her lips brushed against Gin's chest. She heard him softly moan as she lightly kissed a trail across his warm chest to his beating heart. She kissed it a few times then started a trail up his chest to his neck as she felt a warmth growing inside her. This was right. Something about what she was feeling was right. By his side is where she belonged. From the first day she was given to him as his pet. This is were she belonged. It did not matter what Vale told her. If Gin loved her or not for what she did or who she was or what she was. This is where she belonged.
She pressed her lips gently to his neck trying not to press against him, but get as close to him as she could. "I want to be with you. I belong with you." She whispered into his ear.

Gin groaned aloud and seized her around the arms, hauling her against his chest and pattering heart, his hands spasming in her white, blood-stained clothes. What he had learned. What he’d come to understand. What he’d fought against. It was too much. Gin buried his head in the crook of her neck, trembling like tattered paper caught on the currents, tears falling from his eyes. He was helpless, unable to do anything but cling to what he had found. Her trust and faith. Her light that filtered so gently into his fragmented soul.

Kita's heart raced as he held her close to him, her blood running hot, her body tingling at his tender and gentle touch. She wanted him, wanted him more than anything, even more than the life she clung to she called her own. Her head laid to his shoulder as she started to weep.
"I want you... but to protect you... I can't... We can't." Her body shook as she wept on his shoulder. "Why? Why is this happening?"

“Because, dearie….” Gin murmured thickly, arms tucking her against him, taking a shuddering breath to return to a semblance of calm, “we needed each other again to get through this.” He stroked her back as she wept against him, dampening his kimono with her feather-soft tears. “It’s that simple. And that’s enough.”And it was. For today and tomorrow. Until the dawn brightened to day.

"The Unsevering Bond": The artificial sun of the Maze had set. The moon hanging high in the night sky as Sumi appeared in front of her vessel and the Soul Reaper, Gin Ichimaru. Kita was cuddled in his lap, Gin's arms wrapped around her holding her close. His arm tightening around her if she moved the slightest bit within his grasps. Sumi sighed shaking her head as she looked down at them.
"You two have to be the most complicated couple in the history of couples. Death could not even separate you. You would find a way somehow to be together." She stepped toward them resting her hands to each of their heads. She smiled warmly as she saw their thoughts. Both thinking of the other in a fond way as they slept in one another's arms.
"I guess what they say is fact. There is no power stronger than love." She nodded her head slowly lifting her hands as she whispered softly. "Remember, and never forget the other and the love you hold so dear." With her whispered words, all of their memories returned as did Sojiro's.
She faded slowly with a smile across her lips. "If only everyone could share a love this strong. The realms would be a better place for us all." Her voice soft as she completely fade back to her vessel.

Kita rustled in Gin's lap lifting her head slowly from his shoulder opening her eyes. It was nightfall. She should have been out of the Maze hours ago. Quickly she jolted, sitting straight up on Gin's lap, his arms tightening around her totally unnoticed by her and not noticing she woke Gin as well with her actions.
"Gin, wake up." Kita called to him looking his way as she spoke.
Gin sat there looking at her, his signature smile spread across his lips. "I am awake. I think. If not I don't want to be woken up from this dream."
Kita looked at him confused, his pale blue eyes sparkling in the moon light. "What is with you? Snap out of it." She started to push up off him as he grabbed her pulling her back down next to him. "Gin!" She giggled softly as he rolled over hovering over the top of her.
"Stop." Gin told her brushing the hair from her face as she laid under him.
She looked up at him smiling brightly. "What has gotten into you?"
"You."
"What?" Kita questioned with a slight tone of confusion. "What do you mean, me?

“I’ve just come to realize what a terrible thing it is to be without you in the dreamscape,” he leaned down and sucked on her neck, “or any of the realms we have to wake up to.”
“Gin,” Kita giggled. “We’re awake.”
“Then, reality still has some work to do to equate with the bliss of dreams,” the Fox muttered, teasing the flesh along her neck.
“Gin~” Kita moaned, “you - you can’t do this. Vale - I have to get back before he notices I am gone - and with you - of all people.” She pushed up against his chest. “Back off, dearie~ I have to leave.”
Gin smirked, still holding her down in the grass beneath him. “On one condition,” he purred.
“That you get to play first?” Kita muttered, sarcastic. “Nope.”
“That you forgive me for my part in turning Yumiko to Aizen and the harm it did to you,” he murmured, blue eyes soft. Kita's smile faded and tried to sit up. Gin let her but took one of her hands in his. “I should never have let it get that far, and when your pain struck me, I panicked."
