“Pathetic,” Gin whispered.
Whisper halted and looked over her shoulder, eyes narrowed. “What was that?"
“Your bluff was really quite pitiful,” Gin clarified in a calm voice. “Vale would skin both Quinta and Sexta’s dicks from their bodies before they could get as much as one foot near her in her current condition. It will be him alone who will deal the punishment.” He waved his hand. “Or Aizen. But he would be careful of the child, too. Kita will be fine.” He paused. “And as far as your threat to my son and myself…” his eyes narrowed, “it won’t work. We have a trump card you don’t.”

Whisper laughed, "You're too smart for your own good Ichimaru, but the threat on you and your son still stands. Trump card or not." She stepped in the gate turning to look at the masses once more.
"Live your life you have now." Her smirk grew, "Your past life is over." Her arms came up as she presented the maze to them. "This is all you have now." The gate closed leaving them to their own.

Gin shrugged. "As if that's something to miss." He turned around and looked to his son struggling in Tsukiro's grip. "You need to focus your rage more, or you really won't escape his hold."
Sojiro frowned and stilled. "I'm sorry, but I don't like that they're going to hurt mom. It was the Quincy that started this."
Gin chuckled. "Yes, they did, and it's actually a good sign."
Before Sojiro could reply, Tsukiro joined in. "Okay, explain that now. And I better like it. Or you will get my fist in your face."
"As if that's something I won't be feeling soon enough?" Gin quipped, folding his arms. "Kita being punished means someone escaped in all the chaos, and my money is on Juushiro."
At least.

Tsukiro looked to Gin with his comment. "Do you think the Captain Commander and maybe Byakuya made it out with him?"
"Captain Kuchiki is in a cell in the Eight Espada's lab. At least he was when I left him." Izuru replied.
Tsukiro turned and looked at Izuru as he still laid to the ground. "What do you mean when you left him? Why didn't you take him with you?"

Izuru sighed and shook his head. "I-" he winced as his head started throbbing with the movement, making Nori step forward and grab him. "I'm fine," he insisted. Steeling himself, he looked to his old captain. "You owe us an explanation," he muttered. Keeping his eyes on Ichimaru, he continued, "When we defeated Vacanze in his chamber, a door filled with gas opened. It knocked Captain Kuchiki out, and Szayel's been keeping him under since." He looked to Tsukiro. "I couldn't wake him. I'm sorry. I wanted to try to get to Rukia. I couldn't carry him to."

“It’s fine,” Tsukiro assured him, looking around. “Where did Rukia go?”
“Isane bundled her up and took her away. She looked like she was about to fall over. Renji followed them,” Nanao supplied. She walked over to Ikkaku and set a pouch of woven moss and grasses on his forehead. “The coolness of the water should help with the pain.”
Izuru nodded and then looked to Gin again. That made Tsukiro glance back at him too. The Fox sighed. “The maze is an endless loop. Szayel gets the victors,” he stated quietly, waving his hand at Izuru. “You’re off limits. That’s why you were just in a cell, I believe.”
“What happens to them?”
“The ‘victors’ are experiments. They will be transformed and released back into the maze as enemies to either die by their friends’ weapons or to come back to themselves with the guilt. At least his first victim is Kuchiki, the least likely to succumb to any of this."

Tsukiro's eyes narrowed and his hands clenched at his sides as he growled his teeth grinding loudly. "So everything Kita told us was a lie?! We were never met to be set free!? But she fed us false hope!!" He stormed toward Gin and grabbed the front of his kimono.
His arm shot up as he pointed at Sojiro. "And now you got my son involved in this!!" The hand pointing at Sojiro balled into a fist and connected with Gin's jaw knocking him back a few steps. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!! I SHOULD RIP YOUR FUCKING HEAD OFF!!"

Gin grabbed his arm before the second hit could land on him. “First of all, he’s MY son, and I am not going to let him get anywhere near the end. And second,” he stated, “it was the only way to keep you alive. She told you what she had to.” He spun the boy captain away from him. “Third...” he grinned and grabbed Tsukiro’s uniform, pulling him closer. “You forget I have been here for two weeks AND that I designed the maze. There IS a way out, and only Kisuke and I knew that flaw. You should pay more attention to the maps I have been preparing for you.”

Tsukiro shoved him back with a growl. "And you heard the Bitch Whisper. Your next in line to be punished. They know you know this maze like the back of your hand. Do you really think they are going to let you stay in here with us?"
He looked over at Sojiro then back to Gin. "You might be the sperm donor, but I was there and raised him the fist eight years. Where was your ass?"

Gin’s smirk slipped and he hissed before seizing Tsukiro’s uniform again. “I was in a coma because I did what the rest of you couldn’t do, Brat,” he snapped. “I KILLED Aizen and surrendered my heart to Kita. I put everything on the line on that night, and I really don’t like being reminded that it means little now.” He threw the boy backwards.
“And I am not the only one with the keys to the Maze now. I haven’t been the only one for a while.”
“Oh really,” Tsukiro muttered, “and who else knows? Kita?” He waved a hand. “She’s as trapped as you, asshole.”
“My son!” Gin hissed in his face.

"Me?" Sojiro asked. "How do I know the answer?"
Gin looked over to him, his temper cooling. He grinned again, stepped away from the boy captain before he hit him again. Because he wanted to. "Think, Sojiro. What were you doing that was so unusual when I let you in the Maze despite your mother's misgivings?"
Sojiro's eyes narrowed in a way much like his father. "You're not talking about my smooth kill of the hollow, are you?" His father stayed silent. "You said there was no order to the maze, that my leading was nothing to be proud of."
"You need to start realizing who your father AND who your uncle are, Soji. Is the truth always that plain?"
Sojiro stepped back and leaned against a tree. "It seemed familiar... and I couldn't put my finger on it, but now that you're telling me this, you're talking about the puzzles you and Kisuke filled my head with for years. But those changed--"
"Into even more complicated formulas," Gin supplied.
Sojiro rubbed his forehead. "And I've already started to memorize the maps. You're saying the solution or solutions is in there?"
Before Gin could reply, Tsukiro interrupted, and he wasn't happy.

Tsukiro grabbed Gin turning him to look at him. "Your saying those simple puzzles back at Kisuke's shop were the lay out for this maze?" Tsukiro looked away, his fingers combed through his hair. He then quickly looked back at Gin.
"Did Kita know about this?" He asked the Snake.
"No, she didn't. We each had our own certain part of the rebellion that we kept from each other. This was mine."
Tsukiro shook his head with a heavy sigh. "But if we take Sojiro in there and something happens to him. Kita will rip our heads off. So now what?"

"What Mom doesn't know won't hurt her," Sojiro replied for his father. He fiddled with an amulet around his neck. "And there's Daichi. He won't let me get into too much trouble."
Gin grinned. "There's also the little fact that you can't die." He looked back to Tsukiro. "Unless the Soul King changes his mind, Sojiro, myself, and Kita aren't going to die. If you want out of this trap, you're going to have to focus on yourselves, not us."
Sojiro released the stone. "I can do this. With a little time, I can figure it out." He looked to his father again. "And where does the exit lead?"
Gin shook his head. "That was Kisuke's department, not mine. It had to be hidden from a certain spy and his pet God."
Sojiro nodded, looking down, a little overwhelmed at the setup before him.

Tsukiro's hand were thrown up into the air. "Great. Was there anyone that was in charge of the overall fuck up we are calling a Maze?"
Izuru cleared his throat, "There were two from what I heard while being held in Szayel's lab."
Tsukiro looked to Izuru, "Yeah, let me guess. Tervaden and Aizen?"
Izuru's head nodded slowly.
"Not like they are going to give out any information on this death trap." Tsukiro groaned.
"Sumi,"
Tsukiro turned looking at Sojiro with his faint whisper of the Goddess' name. "What about her?"
"She is the Goddess of History. If it has been done or spoken she know about it." Sojiro told him.
"Yeah, but your mom is not here, Sojiro. So that really don't help us out."

“Sumi will come if I ask,” Sojiro explained, “and if I can’t get to her, Daichi can.” He paused. “Between the two of them, we can find out more.” He looked to his father. “If we need to.”
Gin nodded. “That’s the right mindset.” He looked to Tsukiro. “The more this is reasoned out or spoken about aloud, the more chances we have that someone will figure it out before you can use it. As Kisuke has.”
Tsukiro shook his head. “As if that shopkeeper would let anything with his handprint on it be shut down.”
“But Vale is learning more and more as time goes on. From Alister.” He looked to his father. “We have to be careful, or he could get violent like last time."
"He can't shut the Maze down," Gin muttered. "Sumi will make sure of that. To get out, you HAVE to be exposed to it more."
Sojiro set a hand on his zanpakuto. "I can do it. I can beat them!"
