“MOTHER!” Sojiro screamed, running over and dropping to her side. He grabbed her shoulders, shaking her, tears falling down on her neck. “What do you mean she’s powerless, Daichi?” he whispered. “What’s wrong? What’s …happening?” His pale blue eyes sharpened into violet pools of anger and he dashed at his face, trying to get rid of his tears. “I know she’ll be alright… I know….”

Ichigo squeezed his shoulder. “Calm down, Sojiro. Take a breath and let it out.” His grip tightened on Soji’s arm as he did just that. “Don’t panic. It will be alright. I’m sure there’s a reason she’s here. And we will find out.”
Sojiro shook his head, eyes bleary with emotion, and stood up. “Take care…. of her.” He ran off into the courtyard.
Ichigo stood to follow him when Izuru stepped away from his captain and raised a hand. “I’ll go after him.”
“You sure?”
Izuru nodded. “He’s gone through a lot.” He looked to his captain again and then turned to follow his charge.
Ichigo turned back to Kita, lifting her up from the ground. There was a small cut on her chin from falling near the chest. Ichigo sighed and wiped at the beed of blood forming. “Oh, Kita … what am I going to do with you?”

Tsukiro walked over looking down at the woman in front of him. Reaching out he wiped a new forming bead of blood from her chin giving her a small smile as she looked up at him. Sweeping her up off her feet into his arms, he turned walking toward the medical hut.
Kita then started struggling in his arms to get free causing him to almost drop her. he gave her a jolt with a stern look. "Knock it off or I am going to drop you. Is that what you want? Haven't you been through enough already?"

Nori watched as parts of the group thinned out a few sticking close. She looked to Ichigo with narrowed eyes. "We will figure out what happen later. Right now we have two men missing and still in the Maze. We need to find them. They are top priority at the moment."
Ichigo nodded. "I know they're a top priority, but ...." he looked to Kita struggling in Tsukiro's arms and then back to Mutsu. "If we leave, we don't know how long we will be."
"That is something we need not worry about. We need to find them. I doubt the the newest members of the courtyard will be going anywhere soon. You saw the state the Vessel was in, this was not the doing of Aizen or Tervaden. This was done by the Gods or the Goddess herself." She looked the direction of the medical hut shaking her head. "What I don't understand is why wasn't Ichimaru with them?"

Ichigo frowned, he hated being forced to choose between what friends to protect and the inferences the female captain was making. He knew Mutsu was right. “Izuru said Tervaden… Perhaps Gin…”
“Go, Kurosaki,” Ichigo turned. Byakuya had approached. “Go do what it is that you can do and the rest of are unable to do at this time.” The Substitute looked to the medical hut. “It is the Substitute Soul Reaper that the enemy has chosen as bait for their games today. It is your place to defy them out there. We will do what we can with your large family.”
Ichigo finally nodded. As Nori and Ichigo left through the gate, the noble captain sighed and looked to the two chests. “Ikkaku, take them into one of the huts and make sure they’re not disturbed.”
The bald officer nodded and lifted the large chest Kita had brought with her.
His companion who had been silent lifted the smaller one Lieutenant Kira had brought with him. Ayasegawa paused. “And how do we stop the Gods?”
“We try to understand what it is they are orchestrating,” the noble murmured, “and take our destinies back in our hands.”

The courtyard shook violently for a few moments. The ground cracked beneath the captives feet and walls crumbled around them. A cloud of dust rose from the ground and filled the air. As the dust began to settle, the sound of someone clapping slowly began to echo throughout the courtyard.
"Bravo, dear goddess. Bravo." said Vale stepping from an opening gate. He drug a collared and bound Ichimaru behind him. The gate closed. Vale looked around at the crumbling walls. "I suppose, this won't do." Alister stepped up behind Vale, nodding as he knelt down placing his hands flat against the Earth.
As Alister worked, rebuilding and fortifying the walls of the maze, Vale stepped toward the captives. "Now," began Vale, crossing his arms over his chest as he walked around. "What manner of fuckery...is this? We have the untouchables in the maze. Ichimaru has turned into some cursing rabid dog. And Kita is without the seraph. What...am...I...to do? I suppose I could start crying because I haven't gotten my way."
Vale began to mockingly pout as he turned his back to everyone. "But..."

Izuru turned around, hearing Tervaden, and then hurried over to Sojiro. Daichi was hissing violently from his shoulder. “You,” he stated, addressing the demigod, “get out of here, or you’ll be locked away again. I’ll try to keep Sojiro safe, but he’s safer with you free and at his side.”
The spirit growled deeply, nails digging into his master’s shoulder, and then calmed. He licked the wound and then Izuru’s face.
You’re a brave soul, Izuru Kira, and this will not be forgotten.
Izuru blinked as the ferret vanished, leaving behind a buzzing sensation on his forehead, and grabbed Sojiro’s arm. He was stiff, eyes on his bound father. His eyes narrowed, worried and angered at the way the enemy was finally getting to the kid, and squeezed his shoulder. “Don’t look, Soji, and don’t worry. They’re not going to kill either of your parents.”
They would have already.

Kita staggered out of the medical hut with Tsukiro right behind trying to stop her. Stopping at the entrance of the hut she grabbed the door frame and glared at Vale, "YOU!!"
Tsukiro grabbed her arm to keep her in place as she jerked away from him straightening herself up and gathering all her remaining strength she stormed over to Vale stopping in front of him. Her hand lifted and she struck him across the face. "What have you done?!"
Vale's hand lifted to the now heated mark on his cheek as he smirked at her.
"ANSWER ME!!" She screamed at him. "And where is Sumi!? What have you had Alister do with her?!" Kita bellowed stepping up closer to him, her eyes narrowed to near slits as she glared at him. "You fucking ass wipe answer me!!"

Vale's grin faded as the woman carried on. When she raised her hand to strike him again, Vale grabbed her arm. Tightening his grasp until her arm snapped in his hold, Vale pulled the woman closer to him. "Are you through?"
Kita's eyes widened as Vale tightened his grasp. "I had nothing to do with this, love. The only god powerful enough to negate another god, is the Soul King himself. Just because the goddess has told you what she perceives as my ill deeds, does not mean I had anything to do with her separation from you."
Vale pushed Kita away from him. "Perhaps, it was Gin's incompetence and inability to chose a path. No. Couldn't be that. Because of the light you shared, he couldn't return to the dark. Perhaps, it was your son's arrogance in not having any fear. No. I fixed that by taking everything from him. Or, perhaps, it was you. Your downfall was glorious, love. And, to think," Vale placed his hands behind his back and leaned forward. "All I needed was for Gin to take his balls back and fuck someone other than you."
"Thank you, love." Vale shimmied a bit, doing an Irish jig. "For allowing me add another notch to my bedpost. And, for getting me one step closer to what I wish to obtain." Vale looked up. "Don't worry, Lord Aizen. No harm has been done to your goals."

Kita laughed at him with what he told her, "Who used who here?" She smiled brightly at him. "Take your blades shards from my body and get the fuck out our lives. You will never come between me and my loved ones. Not as long as I live and breath." She lifted her hand pointing it at Vale.
"The only one that lost in this is you. I lost nothing. I still have my family and friends. You have nothing. Not even the woman you love wants you, nor did she ever want you. Her heart belong to Aizen before you even came along." She looked to Gin on the ground who was now on his knees. "I never laid claim to Gin. That's why I would never marry him. He is a free spirit. I would never tie him down like that. Even when his son was born. If he wanted to leave he was free to go. He does not belong to me nor will he ever belong to me." She grew silent for a second looking at Vale.
"So who really lost here, Vale?"

Vale laughed as he clapped loudly. "That was a rousing rant, love. Magnificent. Give this woman a round of applause. Please!" Vale remained the only one clapped as he turned toward Kita. He leaned forward and flickered her forehead.
"You..." he whispered in her ear. "Are a ballsy little bitch, love. But, I know as well as you do that the seraph has not left you. Stop throwing a damn temper tantrum and feel her. You and I both know that if this were done by the hand of the Soul King, this would be much worse. Now, get your shit together and realize I have you right where I want you."
Vale leaned even closer to Kita's ear. "At the very bottom..." He looked over his shoulder as Alister rose to his feet. "Seven years with a clear mind, love. I am prepared for most anything. This was an excellent device to show me what I was not prepared for. Thank you."

Aizen entered the courtyard, Loki at his side with two beaten and bloody Soul Reapers. Kairo and Renji. Loki tossed them out toward the group as they rolled and tumbled across the ground stopping a few feet from the group. A few gasp a few others growled and ran toward the fallen men. Aizen's eyes then moved to Vale and the God standing next to him.
"What is the issue here?" Aizen could feel no reiatsu resonating from Kita as she stood cradling one of her arms. He walked over to her, his eyes looking to Gin on the ground on his knees bound and gagged. He looked back to Vale.
"Are you going to answer me, Tervaden?"

Vale looked to lord Aizen with a slight nod. "The seraph has chosen to revoke what power she has lent to Kita. And, what has come as a result from it." He looked to Ichimaru behind him. "It also appears that, in order to spare Kita further, she reverted Gin to a time where he knew nothing of her light."
Bowing slightly, Vale continued. "And, despite what she believes, my hands are clean in this."

"I see," he looked back to Kita. "So you broke her arm because of her blaming you?" Aizen took her broken arm in his hands letting a healing kido flow through it. He looked back to Gin. "So was his darker side too much for you to handle so you gagged and bound Ichimaru?"
He looked to Loki in a silent command as Loki stepped over to Gin cutting him free of his restrains. Gin jerking the gag from over his mouth.
"I take you will be on your best?" Aizen asked Gin as he looked at him as he still healed Kita's arm.

"Too much? Not at all. His incessant cursing was becoming annoying." Vale turned back to Kita. "As for her arm...Well, I could have just pulled the chain. But, that would have been embarrassing. For her."
Vale looked to Aizen. "Does that answer suffice?"
