Tsukiro sighed and looked away, his hand still in Kita’s. He needed to calm down and bring facts to the table, not his personal fear for Kita and Sojiro. Or his hatred for the enemy. Slowly, he took a breath, and Kita reaching out to him was helping, too. There had to be a way he dissuade such action as was being presented.
Both to Kita and to the Snake.
“If that is your concern,” he stated quietly, “then that is all the more reason for this not to be attempted.” Sumi looked to him. He tried to keep his dislike out of his voice as he continued. “Captain Kuchiki has doubts that Ichimaru will join us after the the interference a goddess delivered. If that is even there, shouldn’t we wait to enact such drastic measures? The situation is already perilous. Aizen is collecting reiatsu for some dire scheme. He’s in his element of revenge and creating his realm. If we are NOT careful in what we do, Kita and anyone else he deems disposable, will suffer his wrath and our chances to escape will be reduced even further than they are now.”
“If some here believe Ichimaru may turn, then I ask them to prove it before jeopardizing everything by returning some vital memories that have been erased for a good reason. And on that same note,” he hugged Kita closer, “we’re confusing Kita enough. Our plans shouldn’t make her more vulnerable to the enemy.”

Kita sighed and stood as she released Tsukiro's hand. She looked around at all the faces in the room. "I know you all are trying to protect me, but please stop." She looked to Sumi. "I remember when you removed my memories--" her voice hitched as she fought back the tears. "for the first two years I was here under Gin and Aizen's thumb. I understand why you did that. I do. And now I find out you have done it again for the same reasons. To protect me and I am sure the others involved." Her head shook quickly as her eyes lowered, tears starting to pool.
"I don't want to know anymore. I don't want to know anything about anything. What I know now is enough and if in time you are to restore these memories to the one you stripped them from... then so be it. I will push on with that I believe to be true now. With what I feel in my heart." Her head lifted as she looked to Sumi again.
"If Gin is one that has lost his memories because of... me. Leave them lost to him until the time comes for them to be restored." She looked to Tsukiro and took his hand again, her eyes going to Ichigo, the other one in the room that was over protective with her. "I will do my best to persuade Gin back on our side."
"NO!" Ichigo and Tsukiro exclaimed in unison.
"You endanger him with Tervaden in do that. Are you willing to risk his life just to get him back on our side?" Sumi asked her.
Kita's head shook. "Vale does not care if I talk to the man. Its his roaming hands he does not like."

“Then why don’t you break them a few times until he learns not to touch you?” Tsukiro growled. “It will be good for both of you.”
Kita looked to him, tears still in her eyes but a shimmer of mischief in her eyes. “Are you siding with Vale, Tsuki?”
Tsukiro face scrunched up in outrage. “Of course not!” As Kita and a few others chuckled, he sighed and wrapped her in his arms. “I will always be overprotective of you, darling. It’s what you do when you’re in love. It’s …. something I can’t help. I don’t want you hurting. I don’t want you crying. I wish…" he lowered his voice, kissing her hair, "I wish you had never been dragged into this and Sojiro was my child.”
His arms tightened, breathing harshly through his lips, and then held her back. “Please be careful. You can’t be one of the sacrifices in this war.”

Kita smiled stepping closer to him as she tiptoed up and kissed his lips softly. Pulling away her smile still in place, "That's were Sumi comes in. She will not allow that to happen." She kissed him again as his arms wrapped around her waist pulling her closer and into a deeper kiss.
A few throats cleared in the room as well as a couple of chuckles as the two parted from the kiss, Tsukiro's cheeks were a bright red.
He stroked her cheek. “Sumi protects you at the last minute, love. Because she is a god. You have to take care of yourself too."
Still smiling Kita took his hand kissing a couple of his fingertips. "I will and Gin will behave or I will remove his baby maker. This is business not pleasure."

While the two kissed Sumi spoke as she lifted her hand. "No more is to be said about this." Her hand waved and time reanimated as she faded from the room. As Tsukiro and Kita pulled back from the kiss, Tsukiro's lieutenant, Kairo Namori stepped into the hut.
He cleared his throat as he looked on at the woman in his Captain's arm with narrowed eyes.

Kairo folded his arms, eyes on his Captain and his lost love. “You might want to get out here,” he stated. “The next set of blades has appeared for those to run the Maze, and Karin’s blade is up. Yumichika and Ikkaku are trying to persuade her against going - it has to be some sort of trap - but she doesn’t seem to care.” Moved

"Memories": Sumi appeared in the medical hut of the Maze courtyard. Only the ones in the medical hut were aware she was there. There with Gin Ichimaru, Kita quickly on her way. Eyes widened when they saw Gin his limbs partially healed, more nubs then arms and a leg. His clothing was blood soaked as was his silver hair. Blood splattered on his face and anywhere else it may have dripped.
Appearing fully before Gin, Sumi closed her eyes and entered into Shinsou's inner realm. "Ichimaru. Ichimaru. I know you can hear me answer me or I will leave you as you are here with your enemies and let them tend to you as they wish."

Gin appeared in his inner realm arms folded and drenched in blood. The familiar form of his kitsune zanpakuto sat on his shoulder, silver eyes also rimmed in blood red. A sign of how close both felt death had been. "Does it matter where I go?" he asked, tone deliberately toneless.
Sumi narrowed her eyes at him. "Do not give me attitude Soul Reaper. You heard the conversation between myself and Tervaden. My question to you is one thing." She paused and stepped toward him. "How much do you want my vessel to be back at your side?"
Gin was silent, his smile slipping from his lips, recalling some words from Kita earlier that night --- if it was still night. But it reappeared and Shinsou leapt off his shoulder, vanishing into the undergrowth. "What do you mean back at my side, Goddess? Isn't she already a constant thorn stuck there~?

Sumi looked deep into his eyes stepping forward again. "Is this what you truly feel?" Before he could answer, Sumi's hand came up and silenced him. "Think back, Ichimaru. Think back as far as you can remember, and answer that question again for me."

Gin’s vermillion-stained eyes narrowed, flashing azure points of clarity, taking apart her words bit by bit. Another frown crossed his lips. Because there was something…. something she had said to him….
“ It won't be forever, Ichimaru. Love and happiness will return to you again."
Gin’s eyes hardened to bolts of dark blood as his darkness threatened to consume him. “Why would you say that to me, Goddess?” he snapped. "Since when have I deserved it?!"
But then again, she'd saved his life.... and it seemed like that hadn't been the first time either....

"Do you not care for her? You claim her. You planted your seed in her womb. You helped her name the child. You have protected her." She circled around the Soul Reaper stopping behind him. "Do I dare say deep in the heart you claim to be dark and black there are hidden feelings for this woman?"
She stepped around him facing him once more. "She stood by you. Even though you made her life hell. She stood by you in the end. Not all your memories of her were unpleasant. Were they?"
"I will ask you again." She took a step back from the man. "How much pain do you want to cause my vessel?"
Gin's beady eyes followed the stalking goddess. "Cruel words in Las Noches, seraph."
"Cruel or not. It is something she is used to with you. Answer the question!" Sumi demanded with a raised tone.

"Why?!" Gin snapped. "Why is it so damned important what I want now, woman?!" He turned his back on her, arms folded again, growling in his throat.
Damned Tervaden for winning that skirmish.... and making the memories well up again....
The goddess' accusations swarmed around his head, heightening his irritation. "I named the child because I am just as responsible for his creation, and she wanted it that way. I kept her alive for my purposes. MY reasons. It had nothing to do with who she was. She...." he paused, "has fire that doesn't die. That's all...."
His figure dimmed as if Gin was considering retreating deeper into the forest around them.
"There's enough pain to be had here to add to it without a cause... so she's escaped me thus far."

Sumi sighed, "I guess I was wrong about you as well. Maybe all that Tervaden has said to her is true. You love her for what she has done for you. Not for the person she is. For this reason I will spare you both." Sumi snapped her fingers as Gin spun glaring at her.
"The light you will follow. No other path for you is optional. You will remain on this path until death finds you. Remember everything, but your love for her."
She walked up to him and looked into his eyes. "Where are we?"

Gin snarled at her, hand going to his head as memories slowly started to return him, starting with a much younger Kita leaning down to torment him. Why wouldn’t she leave him alone? And that shopkeeper… he and his lessons…. were no better. Gin growled again, swinging his arm but missing the goddess. “Las Noches, dumb broad,” he hissed. “And as if the light ever wanted me.”
But what remained of it could use what he knew. Damn them all!!!
And he still owed one….
At least.
Gin turned his back on her again. “Will you get out and let me sleep now?” he snapped. As Sumi started fading, he glowered at the air around him and turned around. “Wait.”
He paused.
“You owe me something, woman. So I am going to take a favor from you. Tell Tervaden that next time we meet I will be bigger than him, and that I am not some pawn to be moved about on his script.” He whirled around again. “And tell him that he really is fighting the wrong fight, worrying about the damned kid, when there’s someone in a worse position.” His eyes narrowed to slits. "And that's all I'm saying for him," he sneered.

Sumi still faded, "She will be here shortly. You still have healing that needs to be done." Soon her image was gone but her words remained. "I will deliver your message to Tervaden, but it will not matter. He will come for you again."
"Let him come." Gin growled hand going back to his head.
"Keep your head Ichimaru and remember why you are here. Kita is slowly making her way through this, but I fear your days will be spent here in the Maze until until the day for you all comes." Sumi's voice faded slowly with her last three words.
"She is here..."
