Meanwhile, Renji and Kairo were thrown back from the room and sucked into a pipe on the other side. Kairo cursed and snagged an edge of the opening with his blade and grabbed Zabimaru as Renji extended it. Their grip held, but blood dripped eerily down the pipe from the ninja’s torn hand.
Renji snarled, clinging to his blade, as his shoes were yanked off. “Pull us up. It’s going to rip us apart!”
Kairo’s eyes narrowed. “I can’t do anything but hold our position. Perhaps the suction-“
Just then the pulse thundered in their ears as the suction increased. Kairo cursed as his tendons ripped in his shoulder and tightened his grip on his sword. Something tore behind him.
Renji tried to release a Kido spell as Zabimaru’s edge cut and then sliced through the black ribbon around the ninja’s arm and Kairo’s blade vanished. Too late.
Both screamed as the suction yanked at their bones … pulling down and through a long…. long… pipe.
