"The Will Left in the Shadows":Sajin sat in the corner of an empty room, a son on each side of him. Like his sons, Sajin bore a heavy heart. Though they had found peace in Kamikawa Village among the others who had fled, the peace of the quaint village could not mend his pain. His wife had been taken. And, he was not sure if she was still alive.
Shunsui had grown quiet, not speaking to anyone including his brother and father. While Sakuma's speech had been reduced to growls and blood drawing bites.
"We will get her back..." whispered Sajn, silencing the growls of one son and the whimpers of the others. A shadow grew in the corner of the room. Sajin narrowed his eyes at the shadowy figure. "Captain?"Sajin's eyes grew wide as he sprang up from the floor.

Toshiro's frame was lifted from the ground by the large wolf Captain. The Captain's embrace was warm and comforting. Toshiro patted his arm, while the Captain still held him in his grasp. "I appreciate the love and excitement accompanied with my return, Captain Komamura. But, you need to put me down."
"My apologies, Captain Hitsugaya." begged Sajin. He placed the Captain to his feet, chuckling as he took a step back. "Its good to see you Captain." Sajin brought his fists together and lowered himself into a bow.
Toshiro raised a hand. "Please, there are no Captains here." Looking beyond the large Captain's frame, he saw the Komamura children. "How are they?"

Sajin glanced over his shoulder, with a heavy sigh. His head hung as he turned to face Hitsugaya once more. "They want their mother. I know the pain they have felt, watching Ryo be wounded and collared. But, I can only offer so much comfort. Yoruichi has tried to comfort them." Sajin shook his head as he fell heavily to the ground.
"I should have fought harder, Toshiro...I should have..."

Toshiro placed a gentle hand to the Captain's shoulder. "Now, is not the time to blame yourself, Komamura. It will do more harm than good. And, you, more than anyone else here, need to be strong. You have two children who are relying on you. And, then there is the fact that you are among the strongest here."
"We have you, now."
"I am not here to stay, Komamura." said Toshiro, pulling a tube from his back. "I am only here to bring hope."

"Are you going to abandon us again?" growled Sajin. "We wouldn't be here if you hadn't run away!" Sajin slammed a fist into the floor. "We would have won!"
"Don't!" Toshiro raised a hand, pointing a finger at Komamura. "I bear the weight of what's happened as much as anyone else here. But, I also feel the pain of everyone else here. I have lost Momo Hinamori and Ran-...Lieutenant Matsumoto. I did not abandon anyone."
Sajin rose from the floor, walking toward a large table in the center of the room. He brushed passed Hitsugaya, nearly knocking him to the floor. "What false hope do you bring us?"

Following Komamura to the large table, Toshiro pulled a large paper from the tube and placed it to the table. As those crowding around the table unrolled the large paper, some gasped while others chattered among themselves.
"Where did you get this?"
"Only one person could have provided such detailed information, ma'am."
Toshiro nodded. "I was told to tell you that he misses you. And, that Kenji needs you." He looked to the violet haired woman who was now walking away from the table while nodding her head.
"So, what does he have planned? Are we barging in now? Huh?!"
"No, Hirako. That's not what he wants at all."
A long fingernail tapped the table's edge. "What the hell does the buffoon expect us to do, then?!"
Toshiro shook his head, sighing. "If you all remain quiet for a moment, I can tell you what he wants."

Yachiru leaned over the map. “Why is Ken-nii’s name out here?” she muttered, pointing a fork at the the corner nearest her. “And what’s Pinky doing there too?”
Tessai stroked his chin. “It’s probably because he knows Captain Kenpachi and Commander Kyoraku are alive but he hasn’t located where the enemy is keeping them.”
Hiyori scoffed. “He’s been in there how long? And he can’t sniff two old men out. He’s losing his touch.”
Tessai chuckled. “He will find them when the time is right.”
Yachiru raised her hand. “I can find Ken-nii. Anywhere. He smells like me.”
“That’s a little scary,” Yorusuke murmured, coming up with cookies, which Hiyori and Yachiru leap at. He set them down on the opposite table. “But if we go by that, won’t we find the enemy as well as our monster?”
“Do I get to speak yet?” Hitsugaya growled.
“I don’t know,” Shinji quipped. “Do you?”
Hiyori glared from her spot on the opposite table with Yachiru on her shoulders, holding the cookies above her head. “Get on with it, baka ice giant.”

Entering the room Hisagi combed his fingers through his jet black hair. "Captain Hitsugaya, it good to see you again. What is it the Shopkeeper wants us to do and when does he want us to do it? I am about sick of sitting around doing nothing while our friends and comrades get picked off one by one by those sick Bastards."
He plopped down in a near by chair sitting lazily. "I have a few things I would like to take up with the Goddess as well. She is the one that took the killing blow that allowed them to finally beat us." He grumbled under his breath as he let his eyes follow one of the cracks in the floor.

"Listen..." Toshiro's voice was lost among those chattering around the room. The volume rose as they tried to figure out what the unspoken plan was. Moments passed before the room fell silent. The whimpering of one of the Komamura children could be heard in the room.
"Go get Mommy, Puppy!" the child cried. "Go get Mommy."
Toshiro sighed, turning his attention back to the table. "Listen. Right now, Urahara wants us to be patient. Do nothing but live as peacefully as possible. He wants us to reform our ranks to the best of our abilities. And, when the time is right, we move on his command."
"Is that it?" questioned Hisagi.
"Don't question it. Kisuke knows what's best, right now. He's been in Las Noches for eight years. And, from the looks of it, he's had a hand in designing whatever this is."
"She's right." said Kensei, entering the room. "He has a better idea of what's going on in Las Noches than any of us."
"And while we wait, that crazy freak of an Espada Sousuke has will turn them all into science projects." Mayuri let the tip of his nail tap his chin as he went into thought. "Where is the mad man anyway? Do you know?" He gave a crazy look to Toshiro.
"I did not ask. I was in hiding myself, when he found me. I can only reason, his quick disappearance was to return to his own hiding place."

"It would be helpful if you knew where that was." Kenji stumbled into the room, holding his side. His eyes was bruised and his lip was bloody. "I kind of owe him apology." His mother ran up to him, holding him tightly against her.
"How did you get out?" she asked, kissing his cheek and checking his injuries. "Kenji?"
"Aizen let me out. He sent me after Dad. He said I wasn't a threat and I that if I knew what was best, I would come home. That's when I figured out...That's where you guys were."
"How did you come about your injuries?" asked Toshiro, resting a hand on Hyorinmaru as he walked over to the open door.
"Hollows followed me. But, I took care of them."

Hiyori broke her cookie in half. "You better be sure, Tiger boy," she muttered. She took a noisy bite. "It would have been better though to sink our blades into something worthwhile rather than twiddle our thumbs. Damn Hat-n-Clogs taking his time as usual..." She folded her arms and leaned on the table. "Damn waiting....." she continued, usual hard eyes dull.
Shinji reached over and rubbed her head. "We'll get them, Hiyori. We will."
Hiyori spun around and clamped her teeth - on a plate of hollow skin.
"Careful about doing that," Shinji continued, leaning back in his chair. "You wouldn't want someone here to be your dentist, now would you?"
Hiyori made a face and left the room.
Shinji's eyes narrowed. "We need to keep an eye on her, Kensei."
The taller visored nodded. "We already are."
Shinji looked to the ceiling, eyes turning gold for a moment. "Waiting is always the hardest part about getting revenge...." He sat up again. "So between you two, who have seen quite a bit of the usurper's palace, how are the kids and the old White Knight?"

"Who?" questioned Kenji, pulling away from his mother. "You mean the silver haired bastard kid?"
"Kenji!" Yoruichi raised a brow at her son. "Sojiro is like your brother. Why would you say something like that?"
"Because..." Kenji's face twisted as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Because that bastard isn't my brother. This little shit gets everything he fucking wants. Even when we are fucking locked up like dogs, collared and forced to take shit from hollows...The little shit gets everything. He got Kita. He got Gin. All I got was that hatted bastard you call a husband!"

Yourichi raised her hand about to slap her son not only for his fowl language but for his disrespect for his father and family. Suddenly she hesitated and looked at her son. "I went back to the shop. Have you been there lately?"
"What for?" questioned Kenji. "Karakura is being run by Aizen's daughter. I'm sure they've destroyed the shop by now."
Yoruichi's arms crossed over her chest. "The shop still stands enough to serve a purpose. He is waiting for you there. Have you given up even on him?"

Kenji's eyes narrowed, as he took a step back. "He's not there. There's no way he would be there. He couldn't have gotten passed all of them. Not all of them." Kenji's words faded as he began to grind his teeth.
"He's not waiting for me. I know he's not."

"Why wouldn't he be? He's as faithful as an old dog and he loves you as much as me and your sister love you." She stepped toward him reaching out for her son as he knocked her hand away.
"Kenji Urahara!" She bellowed at him. "Tell me who is waiting for you at the shop!?"
