"You can be really ruthless sometimes, Maki-chan," Riku laughed. He patted Allura's shoulder in reassurance. "Don't worry. I'll go with you to talk to all the people on the list. No way I'd make you do it all by yourself." Allura shook her head, "We'll have to work separately. Not saying that I don't want you there. It's just that we need someone to oversee the progress, make sure everything for today's preparations is going as planned while the other rounds up people. And I doubt you'd really want to talk to Ryusuke." She smiled reassuringly, "I've got to be more social at some point in my life."
He smiled and nodded. "Okay. If you're sure. But if you need a rescue, just shout for me and I'll come and save you." The two girls laughed at him.

"Alright then," she looked to Riku. "I am guessing you locked my door when you left this morning?"
Riku gave her a look of 'seriously'. "Of course I did. I was not about to leave it unlocked."
Makino giggled again. "I know I know, but I was about to say. Since you did lock the door. Sojiro has a key to my room. It's in a little wood box on his dresser. You can use it to get in there and get the the original setup maps. You'll also find the notebook that has everything listed, who the merchants are, what the game stands are, and what food stands will be siting up there this year, the firework merchant, etc. etc. It also has all the contracts we signed with them. So don't let them walk on you if they are doing something you know they should not. All the receipt, contracts and ordering slips are in this notebook. So guard it with your life. If one of those are lost we will not know who needs to be paid and who has been paid."

Riku whistled in awe. "Wow. You really thought of and planned out everything." He sat down next to Makino and gave her a gentle hug. "Don't worry. We'll put everything in its proper place. It'll get done just like you envisioned it."
He turned to Allura with a more serious look. "And if we're going to get everything done, we should probably head out here in a bit and get started. We don't have much time at all left to get things done. We need to make the most of every second we have."

Allura nodded in agreement, "That would be smart." She hugged Makino gently, "Like it's been said before. I'm glad you're alive and in recovery. We promise this festival will go as planned."
She straightened then looked to Riku, "We can discuss plans on how we're going to divide up the duties before I start 'recruiting' if you'd like."

"Sounds like a plan." Riku then smiled at Makino, patting her hand and pecking her cheek. "Rest well and recover. Hopefully by the time the Festival starts, you can at least come and see how it turns out. If not, then I'll carry you around on my back." Makino smiled at them both. "Thanks guys, and I hope to be able to go. If not the first night the second at least. I know you guys will do great, and you know where to find me if you need anything." She waved to them as they walked toward the door. "OH!" She snapped her fingers. "Homework! Could you guys please let my instructors know what's going on and get my class work for me?" "Don't worry, Maki-chan," Riku waved to her. "We'll take care of everything. I'll make sure you get your assignments. I'll even do them for you if you want!" He laughed as she cried out that he better not and closed the door. He and Allura looked to each other and nodded before running off to get things done and sorted out as quickly as possible.
There was a lot of work to do in the next three days. They had to start now if they were going to finish everything in time.

“Bravery?”
After Allura and Riku left her room Makino slipped from her bed, baring weight on the wrong leg as she almost toppled to the floor, but caught herself on the bed and bedside table before doing so. She whined out in pain biting her bottom lip as a metallic taste filled her mouth.
“Damn it.” She growled at herself as she felt the warm liquid of blood trickle down her lip and chin. She reached for a tissue on the bedside table and wiped it away as she sat down to the beds edge. She looked around for her crutches then sighed when she spotted them across the room and no furniture in the path to help stable her on one leg to get to them.
“Damn it all!” She growled again. However, that was not stopping her. She was going to get up and go see her mother and Byakuya no matter what the cost. She had not seen them since the attack and even though everyone was telling her they were stable, but still resting she wanted to see for herself. She wanted to visit them. Talk to them. Smile and laugh with them like before all this took place.
After a few minutes and gathering herself once more after the pain in her leg subsided, she tried again. This time leading with her good leg to stand on and tucking her injured leg up under her so not to place weigh on it. Standing on one foot she steadied herself and looked to the crutches across the room leaning against the wall.
She took a deep breath and cleared her head. “I can do this. I know I can. I am too damn talented and gifted not to be able to hop on one foot across the room to get to them.” She released the bed and took one hop forward using her arms as counter weights to balance herself. It worked. She took another then another and then another until she was center of the room and half way there. She closed her eyes starting to feel the weight of the pain killers she was on and her head started to swoon.
“No. No no. Not yet. Not yet.”
She started to wobble slightly as she closed her eyes to steady herself once more and stop the spinning of her head and the room. The weight of her body was getting worse and her injured leg was starting to feel like a led weight attached to her hip. She took a long deep breath and exhaled slowly as she opened her eyes seeing her target only a few more feet from her.
“I got this.” Makino said in the silence of the room and with a new determination. She hopped forward again wobbling slightly then took another before she was fully ready to move again, making her wobble worse. A panic filled her heart and mind as she told herself. It’s all or nothing! GO! She started hopping quickly, her injured leg starting to throb with the jolts going through her body and her head dipped and spun faster. One more hop and she was there. One more. Her goal was right in front of her just an arm’s reach away. One more. She hopped once more as both hands made a popping sound against the solid wall and she caught her balance against it. She rested against it letting her injured leg relax, her hands still flat against the wall as her bent arms pushed out behind her, her head and body pressed against the wall as she just stood there and breathed letting her head and pain subside.
After a few minutes, her head cleared enough she could finally see straight once more. She turned to her crutches and took hold of them tucking them under her arms. “Better,” she sighed. “At least now when wave of dizziness hits me I have support under me.”
She paused for a second as she looked to the door of her room remembering when Sojiro left her to visit with Riku and Allura.
“It’s all right. Visit with them. I just need some fresh air I will be back after a while.”
She sighed as she lowered her eyes remembering the hurt in his eyes and the longing he had for his family. “This attack. My family. Sojiro’s family. Innocents. All hurt or injured because of the threat that bastard tried to use against me and force me to leave Sojiro. How many more will suffer before your sick game is over Sousuke Aizen? How many?”

“Just one for now.” A voice spoke behind her as the young girl spun on her crutches. She almost toppled if he had not moved quick enough to catch her. Her crutches fell to the floor as he held her closely in his arms.
“Who are you? Let go of me!” She ordered as she pushed against his chest.
“Calm down. I am not here to harm you. Only deliver a message to you.”
“Let go!” She ordered him again.
He held tightly to her and smirked as he leaned into to her and whispered in her ear. “He will come again with the knowledge to none.” His smirk widened, “and it will be you and your loved ones he will be coming for. Follow the designed plan set before you, Miss Masanobu or more will die and their blood will be on your hands.”
He looked up quickly hearing footsteps coming their way as he released the girl and disappeared.

Captain Hirako burst into the room and caught Makino Masanobu as she nearly fell, her crutches on the ground already. His eyes narrowed down at her. “Hey, parrot, aren’t you smart enough to know that you can’t get anywhere without crutches, or will end up on the ground like a-”
However, his elaborate taunt faded as he caught sight of her tear-filled gaze and realized she was clinging to him like a barnacle to a ship. There was something seriously wrong. And he knew for a fact that her parents were still stable. Scowling, amber eyes narrowing, he lifted her into his arms, bridal style and lowered her to the bed. “Tell me,” he growled. “Tell me what happened.”

Makino shook her head as she wiped away her tears looking away from the very man she hoped would one day be her Captain. She could not be crying in front of him. Not him of all people, he will only see it as a weakness. She could not have that. Not with him. Not with Captain Hirako.
Looking across the room gathering herself before looking back it him, she spoke. "One of his men was just in here. A Soul Reaper I am sure of it." She looked back at him with no tears on her face or in her eyes as she took a deep breath.
"He told me he will come again with the knowledge to none, and it will be me and my loved ones he will be coming for. He told me I was to follow the designed plan set before me or more will die and their blood will be on my hands."

Shinji growled and looked away. “Bastard and his damn spies and their fucking riddles!” He looked to the parrot again. “You made a good report.”
“Thank you, sir.”
He didn’t give her much time to ponder as he started to grill her. “But now I need more. What did he look like? What did he sound like? Do you recognize him or were there any discernible sounds or smells? Did he leave because he heard me or leave on his own accord? Anything you can think of will be-”
He jolted as a siren sounded overhead, a siren and a loud hissing. His eyes narrowed and he grabbed Makino’s arm before hollering down to the courtyard. “Get the wounded in the tunnels!”

Makino looked to him with wide eyes as her heart stopped, but she was not about to fold under that fear that grabbed a hold of her. "Give me my crutches and go Captain!" She told him pulling from his grasps.
She pushed against him to get him to move. "GO! THEY NEED YOU!" She demanded of him. "I can take care of myself in this fight! GO CAPTAIN HIRAKO!!" She screamed at him.

Shinji’s eyes widened at the resolve in her tone before he did as ordered, quickly giving her the crutches. But before she could move, the captan seized her arm in a vice grip, his amber eyes intense. “Makino Torii Masanobu, these are your orders. You go down with everyone else,” he snapped. “No heroics. No looking for others. YOU get down there. You protect yourself and go. Or you are a DUMB PARROT!” He released her and turned to leave the room.

For the first time in him calling her a Parrot it did not bother her as she looked to him and smiled warmly. "Yes sir," she nodded sternly, "and you go out and do what you do best." She paused her warm smile turning into a malicious grin. "Rip their fucking heads off, Captain."The hybrid captain blinked at her and then smirked like a shark, his hollow mask appearing. He slid it over his head. "I won't leave leftovers for you, sweetie." He vanished. Makino giggled softly as she slid off the bed to a stand. "Didn't think you would." She made her way out into the halls as people rushed past her, even Allura and Riku as they were heading back from the cafeteria with lunch. Riku grabbed Makino's arms to help her along faster as they all headed to the underground where it would be safer for all of them.~END RP~ "The Grass is Not Greener":

"Heart to Heart Talk" (continued):Yumiko smiled in turn but didn't continue their conversation until they were inside her room. After she had settled her daughter in the middle of the second bed, Makino and she sat down on the second bed, Yumiko taking the younger girl's hands. "Sojiro is indeed gone again, but I think this disappearance may be a blessing in disguise." She paused. "Sojiro went after his mother, sensing her when the alarm went off. And though she didn't take him, they may have a chance to speak this time before she returns him. And Sojiro needs that." She leaned over and tucked a lock of hair behind Makino's ear. "Sojiro is very confused right now and may need to speak to her be reassured or at least see things more clearly." Makino's face dropped and Yumiko shook her head slightly. "He hasn't forgotten about you, Makino. I don't think he can. He will be back and he'll want to be at your side when he does."

"I know he has not forgotten about me, Lady Ryouma. I just hate seeing him go through this alone and he won't talk to me about it. He thinks he is protecting me. Keeping me from hurting, but in reality it hurts worse when he won't talk to me." She looked up in her eyes.
"I know why he does this, but my heart and my emotions feel as if he don't trust me or he feels I am weak and can't handle it." She looked across the room out the window. "Why does emotions always have to over ride logic. It's not logical."
Just then, an exasperated giggle escaped her as she shook her head. "If only things made sense."
