"Missing Piece": (continued) Stepping around the corner he saw her preparing a meal. “I have not done much to it. Just a new coat of paint for the walls, furniture, pictures, knickknacks and a new rug.” Tsukiro chuckled as he leaned against the counter behind her. “No, not much at all.” She turned to look at him a half smile across her lips as she shook her head slightly. “So what brings you to this realm?” She turned back to her cooking.“Well if you must have a reason…” He reached around her picking out a piece of the beef in the bowl. “I went looking for you this morning to see if you wanted to have lunch with me today and Captain Kotetsu told me you were given the rest of the week off.” He paused again and leaned in closer to her as she turned and looked him in the eyes. “Something about stress and being over worked?” Kita huffed and turned her attention to her cooking, “I know what I heard. And I don’t care if it was Toshiro’s image we saw. I was not Toshiro.”His hands went to her shoulders as he massaged them tenderly. “Kita. Sada is dead. Toshiro and Kenji and a few others that were still fighting saw the Bastard defeated by the Captain.” Kita shrugged his hands from her person as she growled. “Sada is not dead!”“Yes h--”

“NO HE IS NOT!!” Kita exclaimed cutting him off as she spun to face him. Her eyes flared in anger and fear. “The Bastard cannot be killed! Ask Vale! He cut his damn head off in the Throne room years ago and that Bastard Sada picked it up and set it back on his shoulders!”
Her body language questioned his thoughts as she then questioned. “What does that tell you wise guy?!”
Tsukiro said nothing as he took a step back from her, his eyes fixed with hers.
Kita shook her head as she sighed. “He is not dead, Tsukiro. In fact; he is mocking all of you by taking on the form of the man that they believed killed him.”

Tsukiro reached out taking her into his arms as he pulled her close. "Kita, calm down." He sighed unsure what to believe. His fellow Captain--a seasoned and very strong Captain--was being questioned by the woman in his arms. Her words flowed freely, she did not stammer nor did she hesitate in her speech. Was there reason to doubt her? Could she be right and the hollow Sada took over one of his fellow Captain's forms, and if he did --- Where was Captain Hitsugaya now?
He sighed again giving her a tight hug. He trusted her, he believed her. Even with the distance that grew between them. He still trusted her, but he still had to make sure there was no reason for doubt. Not for him, but for the ones that do and will truly doubt her. "Are you sure Kita?" He shook his head as she look up at him.
"You swear Ichimaru is still alive, but if he were and he loved you as much as he claimed. Why is he still gone?" She pushed away from him with narrowed eyes. "Kita. I am sorry." He reached for her again as she smacked his hand away.
"Kita please. Maybe you are suffering from more stress than you think. You believe so deeply that Ichimaru is coming back, but deep down you know he is not. Maybe you're in denial and this is a way to--" Tsukiro was cut off with a hard quick slap to the face.

"HOW DARE YOU!!" Kita screamed at him. "HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE ME OF ACCUSING TOSHIRO OF BEING A FRAUD! TOSHIRO AND I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR WELL OVER TWENTY YEARS! WHY WOULD I TRY TO GET HIM INTO TROUBLE OR OTHER WISE!?"
Her eyes grew to near slits as her arm came up and she pointed at the door. "Get out!"
"Kita..."
"I SAID GET THE FUCK OUT! AND WHEN SADA FINALLY REARS HIS UGLY FUCKING HEAD AND KILLS ANOTHER THREE OR FOUR HUNDRED OF YOUR COMRADES DON'T COME CRYING TO MY ASS! BECAUSE I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ANY MORE! YOU ASSHOLES DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO ME! YOU DON'T WANT TO HEED MY WARNING! THEN FUCK ALL OF YOU!!"
Tsukiro stepped toward her as she shoved him back.
"GET THE FUCK OUT!! NOW!!"

“MOM!” Sojiro called out rushing in from the living room where he had dropped the groceries. “MOM, WHAT’S WR-”
Sojiro paled, his gut twisting, as she screamed her order at Tsukiro again, this time throwing her shield up. He ran over, shunpo’ing around the shield, and hugged her close from behind. “Mom, please calm down,” he whispered in her ear, his own pounding from the spike of anxiety. “Please. You’re scaring me.”
“Get HIM out of here,” she growled.
“But…” His voice wavered. “He was supposed to help…. and he’s your friend….”
I wanted to see you smile. If even for a moment….

Tsukiro's look saddened. "Kita, I am only trying to help."
"BY ACCUSING ME OF SHIT!? BY TELLING ME I AM LOSING MY MIND!? BULLSHIT!! GET OUT!!" She barked at him again then quickly looked to Sojiro. Her arm came up quickly again as she pointed at him. "Get him out of here. Now."
Her tone with her son was lowered but the anger remained. As Sojiro turned and looked at him Tsukiro shook his head. "Sojiro you have to believe me. I meant no harm. I just don't understand why she is holding on to a lost cause and why she insist that Toshiro is Sada." He shook his head again. "He is dead."

Yumiko paused outside of the open door as Kita screamed at Tsukiro who had tried to approach her again and Sojiro’s voice joined the chaos in the kitchen. She sighed. And walked into the kitchen just as Kadaj started crying.
She smiled sadly at the three of them. “I’m sorry for the bad timing, but I thought this might help with all the doubt you’re going through.” She walked over and set Kita’s blade down on the counter.
Kita grabbed it and ran from the room, heading to the bedroom.
Tsukiro turned away and left through the front door.
Yumiko sighed again.
“What does Vale think?” She looked up. Sojiro had walked over to the vegetables and resumed cutting them. “Does he believe Sada’s dead?”
Yumiko hesitated in replying. “No,” she finally whispered, taking a seat at the counter. “He’s constantly looking for him when he thinks I’m too preoccupied.” She drew a circle with her finger on the surface. “He doesn’t want me to worry.”
“Then I need to ask him when he comes back…. again.”
Yumiko tucked a lock back behind her ear, brushing against a rose in her hair. “When did you last sleep well, Soji?”

“I sleep more than mom,” the teen muttered. It was the truth. Just not the whole truth.
“That’s not what I asked,” Yumiko’s soft voice persisted.
Sojiro’s frown deepened and then grinned as an idea struck him. “I go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. I eat three meals and play with Kadaj. Happy now?”
Yumiko chuckled. “No, but if I keep asking, you’re going to find another way to dodge the question. I’ll tell Vale he has to ask when he visits again.”
Sojiro’s frown returned. “I sleep enough. I don’t need him nagging me. He needs to find Dad.”
“Soji…”
“Mom needs him… not just Vale, Kisuke, and Tsuki. She needs him.” He tipped the cutting board and poured the ingredients into the soup his mother had started. “And I need him before Aizen comes back. Before he threatens me again.”

Kita stepped back into the kitchen, Kadja cradled in her arm. "Before who threatens you again, Sojiro?" She looked pointedly at her oldest son as she walked up behind him. "You have not been fighting again have you?"
Sojiro looked over his shoulder at her as he stirred the soup. His head shook. "No I haven't."
Her look grew questioning as she looked into his eyes.
"Mom I promise." He chuckled softly. "I have been holding my temper. I promise."
She let the tips of his silver hair slide between her fingertips as she smiled at him. "You're an Ichimaru. Neither you or our father can bluff me. I know better."

Sojiro turned his head. “And you can’t fool me,” he stated in a quiet voice. “You should have been resting when Tsuki came over. That’s part of the reason you were yelling so loudly. I was supposed to cook today. Me or Tessai." Kadaj wiggled before Kita could reply, and Sojiro chuckled. Letting the spoon rest for a moment, he tickled his brother's arm.

Kita looked to Sojiro her head shaking slightly. "My stress level nor me being tired was the reason behind me yelling at Tsukiro. It was what he said to me."
Sojiro shook his head in return. "Nothing he said could have warranted you screaming at him."
"Without coming right out and saying it he told me your father ran off and left us. Dumped us. Then told me I was in denial over it. That was what was causing my stress and worry." She adjusted Kadja in her arms as she leaned toward Sojiro and kissed the side of his head.
"Thank you."

As Sojiro flushed and tried to protest Kita’s gratitude, Yumiko chuckled, some of her worry fading at the momentary warmth in the room. As Sojiro batted his mother’s arm away before she could hug him. And pointed to a chair. Telling her to sit down. As Kita sat down beside her with a knowing look that nearly removed the anger she’d been feeling a few moment’s before.
Yumiko returned the smile but couldn’t’ help but wish she could preserve the moment longer. If she could bring Shinsou to them. But Vale was right. If they had it - felt the way it heated and sparked at the slightest touch - it would send them straight into danger. They couldn’t know.
“Shall I hug you both and send you to bed?” Yumiko asked in a feigned innocent voice.
“I don’t need a babysitter,” Soji muttered from the pot of soup. “And I am cooking.”
“After then.”
“I sleep enough.”
Yumiko looked to Kita with Kadaj and scooted closer to her. She ran a finger down the baby’s downy head. “Try not to blame Tsukiro too much, Kita. He’s worried. And he left because I think he realizes he went too far. At least, that's what I think."

"Who knows with that man. He is so hard to read sometimes. I think he does it just to dodge any more bullets that might go off his way." She paused for a second then cleared her throat. "Speaking of bullets." She looked Sojiro's way. "You have been able to dodge one for quite some time now. I always seem to get detracted or you run off before I can ask."
As creepy silence filled the kitchen Sojiro looked over his shoulder at his mother as he stirred the soup. He then looked Yumiko's way next as she to was looking at him. "Were you talking to me?" Sojiro asked sheepishly.
Yumiko chuckled, "Well I have not been dodging anything. So she must be."
Kita giggled softly. "So~ much like his father." Her hand lifted resting to her upper chest as she mocked her husbands famous line when in question. "Who me~?"

Sojiro chuckled softly. “And you still haven’t told me how much to you were actually resting this afternoon and how long you were cleaning or cooking. So I would say we're even,” he stated, face clear of expression but eyes glinting with amusement.
"It's my job as a mother and a wife to make sure my family is fed and they have a clean home to dwell in. I rested enough this morning. Now for your answer." She paused for a second as Sojiro turned to look at her. "What do you mean when Aizen threatens you again?"
Sojiro's lips thinned together as if he were pouting and then turned away to check the soup. Taking a sip, he added some pepper, basil, and salt and turned the stove down. The youth sighed. And turned around, his eyes dark blue. "I don't think he's gone, Mom. It's too quiet and Dad's missing. Something's not right." Sojiro started stirring the soup again. "So if he's not gone, that means he'll carry out his threat to fight me."

Kita looked away from her oldest her eyes looking at the flowers in the center of the table that he had picked for her this morning from the garden. She sighed heavily, "A gut feeling?" She looked back to Sojiro as he nodded slowly.
"I know those feelings. Though, I have to agree with you. I just don't see Aizen getting caught that easily. He may have never said it aloud, but you could see the determination in his eyes to never be imprisoned again."
