Kita shook her head as her son looked to her with a bewildered look. He stood from the couch where he sat turning his mother to look at him once more.
"What do you mean no, Mom? I need the key. If I don't give it to Aizen--" "There is no key," Kita told him cutting him off.
Sojiro fell silent then started to chuckle softly. He don't know why, he did not think what his mother said was funny, nor did he think the pending doom that sat in the pit of his stomach was funny either. "What do you mean there is no key? You know what key I am talking about, right?"
"Yes, I do, but that key...It's gone. I got rid of it three years ago when you left for the Academy."

Sojiro paled and then shook himself, trying to smile again. “If you mean you buried it, there are only so many places you would do that in Karakura. So we can still find it, right?” His mother was shaking her head. “Mom… what do you mean then?”
“I tossed it in the river.”
Sojiro chuckled again. “Then we may be able to find it at the bottom if we have a good swimmer. That’s not gone.”
“No, Soji….” She hung her head and wrung her hands.
Sojiro swallowed thickly, both ashamed at making her look like that and at the whisper of foreboding growing in the back of his mind. “Mom…" he started slowly, trying to keep calm, "what did you do with that key?"

"I set it up on a device that would keep it afloat but just under the surface of the water so not to be seen. I did not want it to be found. Ever. At least in my life time."
She looked at her son, a serious look on her face and in her eyes. "I am tired of playing by his rules. It is no longer his game. I won't bend and I won't jump when he says jump. That key was the key to Pandora's box and I want nothing to do with it."

Sojiro nodded automatically and then lowered his head. He’d seen that look in her eyes far too often. From the days of pain and the deals she dealt to protect her family. He had hoped he wouldn’t see it again.
Her fingers ran through his hair. “I’m sorry, Sojiro. But I won’t do it anymore. I don’t care what he does to get control. I won’t change my mind.”
Sojiro sighed and clasped her hand. “Then you need to pack and go to the Gotei,” he stated, looking into her eyes. “You’re one of the targets if I fail. And we don’t know when Seto will be back.” He stood, still holding her hand. “I need to get back and warn Grandfather about the threat to the school. And apologize to Maki’s family.”
His eyes narrowed. “We have two and a half days left. There’s got to be something we can do to prepare this time.” He looked to his mother again. “I’m going to get Dad.”

Kita placed her hand to Sojiro's shoulder shaking her head. "There is no need for me or Kadaj to go anywhere. Satoshi can protect us fine."
"BUT MOM!?" Sojiro bellowed.
Kita kept shaking her head. "I am not bending, Sojiro. Even if he had the key he would still be coming for me. He needs me, I am the Master of that Hogyoku. No one else can control it but me."
"MOM!" Sojiro bellowed again.
"NO! I am not leaving my home!" Kita bellowed in return.

Sojiro growled. “If he’s going to be coming for you, then you should be closer to the Gotei. Satoshi can’t be in two places at once! What if you got separated from Kadaj? What if you felt sick because of the next two? Mom, it’s too dangerous!” She was still shaking her head. Sojiro grabbed her arms and pulled her down into the couch. "What if you getting hurt hurts Kadaj and my next siblings?"

Kita pulled a hand free and patted the back of his hand that still held her other. She smiled warmly at him. "Sojiro sweetie. Satoshi will not leave mine or Kadaj's side and if while he is fighting it is necessary I have my shield. Nothing is going to happen to us. I promise."
She lifted her free hand and cupped his cheek. "I promise," she repeated reassuring him of that fact.

Sojiro looked deep into her eyes. “I’m still telling Dad, and he will decide whether he’s coming over or not.” He hugged her. “I am going to see Kadaj then and get back. I’ll trust you. And I’ll protect Maki so you can meet her.” He hugged her again. "Please be careful. And don't blame me if Grandfather brings in the calvary."

She smiled at her son and nodded slowly. "He is in his room playing with his toys. He will be happy to see you."
As Sojiro turned away to walk to his little brothers room Kita decided to tell him the news of the twins. "And so you know. You have a little sister on the way as well as a new little brother."
Sojiro blinked, his fear momentarily replaced by that big change. "I - I have a sister coming?" Kita nodded quickly with a wider smile. "Yes you do. Urora and Akira." Sojiro made his way back toward his mother as he hugged her tightly. "I don't know if I should be excited or worried. Now I will have two of you to worry about."Kita cupped his cheek again as he slowly released her and they looked at one another. "Go see your little brother, and stop worrying Gin." Sojiro rolled his eyes shaking his head as he turned from his mother and headed off to see Kadaj.
Kita sat back to the couch with a sigh as she rubbed her stomach looking down at it. "Where is your father?" She whispered.~END RP~ "Hamartia Finale":

"Family Business": (continued) Kisuke, Byakuya and Sojiro stepped up to the gates of the Tetsuya manor a knot forming in the pit of Kisuke's stomach. This was not something he ever wanted to do, with family or anyone for that matter. The loss of a loved one was hard enough without finding out that that loved one was taken by the hands of a man that you already regretted not killing when you had the chance. Now twenty years later and four children, two living and two on the way, and finding out you were alone once more was not something he wanted to watch his daughter go through. Even though they would be there for her through it all. He did not want to watch her heart break all over again or his youngest loving grandson to suffer without his father. As they waited for the grounds keeper to return with the announcement they were there, Kisuke kept his head down and deep in thought of what they would do next with this new threat Sojiro told them of. Kita and the boys would have to be moved. Placed under protective custody, no matter how much she protested. he had to protect her, and he could not push that responsibility off on Satoshi. When then gate opened Kisuke looked up seeing the ground keeper gesturing for them to enter. The three walked in slowly as he informed them they could find Kita and Satoshi in the main sitting room. The three made their way slowly, none too excited about the news they carried with them and had to share with the family.

Sojiro dragged his feet at the back of the group. He'd already warned mother of the threat and had been told that she wouldn't move. That she would wait for Seto at her home. But this time - unlike his father - Seto wouldn't come back to her. And Daj, what could he say, what could he do to shield him from the weight of that grief? As well as his own? His hand clenched over his zanpakuto. He'd left home to keep them safe. To protect their smiles. And now, even if he hadn't been a part of this fight, he felt that he had failed them. Both of them.
A small part of him wondered if they should ever have left Las Noches....
Would it have helped to bring his dad?

When they entered the room Kita rose with a frown across her lips as she bowed slightly to Byakuya and her father, she looked to her son with a displeased look. "If you are here to collect me and Kadaj forget it." Her hand made a cutting motion across the air in front of her. She looked to Sojiro. "I told you I was not leaving my home. Let Aizen come. He won't like what he has to face when he does."
"Mom--"
"I am not listening to this Sojiro. I can't beli--"
"Leave the boy alone," Kisuke finally spoke. "We are not here to take you anywhere. Only to...to tell you---" Kisuke's hand lifted as he covered his eyes. "I am sorry Kita. I tried."
Kita looked to them in a state of confusion as she looked to Byakuya which seemed to be the only one holding it together. "What are they talking about Captain Kuchiki?"

Byakuya looked to Miyamoto. “Your father was dragged to Las Noches by Teruo and witnessed your husband's battle with Sousuke Aizen. He then blacked out - due to using his Bankai on Teruo - and was returned here. He did not see the end of the battle. But there was nothing he could do to stop Aizen from cleaving him in two.” He looked to the window. “He is gone.”

Kita froze as she stumbled back into her chair Sojiro and Satoshi going quickly to her side. Her hand went to the side of her head as she cast her eyes down looking at the floor. Her chest was tight and her breathing shallow.
As Sojiro called to her it sounded like his voice was calling her from a far distance. She could not speak she could not thinking she could not move. Suddenly something took over in her and she shot up to her feet. Her eyes narrowed hands clenched into fist at her side.
"YOU LIE!!" She screamed an energy neither Byakuya, Kisuke nor Satoshi had felt from her in the past, but Sojiro had. It was the same energy he had felt from her when Seto returned his father home to them. The same energy that almost killed her a little over three years ago.

Sojiro’s felt his heart leap and strangle his throat as he grabbed his mother’s arms. “Mom-” She shook him off her, making him fall to the floor. But he stood again he took a firmer grasp of her arms, looking into her eyes. The light was gone. Again. Eyes like pools of nothingness. “MOM! DON’T YOU DARE! THINK OF DAJ! You can’t GO! YOU CAN’T DIE! We’re NOT LYING! And you HAVE to listen! MOM, YOU’RE STRONG! You CAN do this!”
