"Well, you know where to find me. Send a messenger if needed, and I will get things rolling for you for Kita's visit. Maybe I'll be free when she comes to visit, and I can escort the two of you. Then I can properly meet the Goddess."
Yumiko nodded. "If that is your wish, then address her as Kita or Miyamoto if you must be formal with her. She does not like being called the goddess."
Yorusuke nodded in acknowledgment, "Noted," he offered an arm to Yumiko, "let's get you cleaned up and get some food in you. You can't continue healing if you let your own health suffer."
He was rewarded with a true smile. "As if Ukitake would let that happen."
"Well," Yorusuke looked around. "I don't see Captain Ukitake around to enforce your eating habits, so it's up to me right now. So..." he offered his arm once more. "Shall we? I can always come back to talk to Captain Kotetsu after lunch."

She laughed and shook her head. “I don’t wish to bother the captain or Nao-” Her temporary mirth faded a bit with the reminder that she had yet to try to talk to Naomi after the distance she put between herself and others in Las Noches, “or Lieutenant Kato over the matter of security for myself. It will be easier for everyone if I return home after lunch.” She pushed that matter aside and accepted his arm. “Thank you for company.”
"The honor is all mine, Lady Ryouma," he smiled brightly as he started a path to the closest restaurant.
Yumiko let him lead and fell silent, not sure what to say as a little wave of anxiety crept in. She hoped her composure hid it well enough.

As they walked, Yorusuke tried to make small talk with Yumiko, "so have you known the Goddess--" Yorusuke stopped short, "sorry, Kita for long." He looked over at Yumiko when he felt her tense up. "Hm, bad subject?"
"She's..." Yumiko hesitated. It wasn't her place to say much, but she'd already betrayed herself on the matter, and as an officer of Division Six, he would come to learn the truth soon enough. "She's missing. It's not widely known now, and I'm worried for her. She- she needed this peace more than me."
She looked away, pushing down the wish that Sousuke had taken her and left her friend alone to heal. That thought wouldn't help anyone now.
Yorusuke got a puzzled look, "she is missing?" He looked over at Yumiko, "may I ask what happened? I mean, if you can."

Yumiko shook her head. “I only know that Aizen took her and I don’t want to infer anything else from it with that little knowledge. For all I know, she’ll be home soon, as was the situation with me at the end of the previous war.” She looked to her escort, eyes serious. “Stay quiet about it, please, unless your superiors discuss it, Nagano-san. After the Takeover, it would terrify many, whether or not her capture is actually a threat to them.”
Yorusuke nodded as they started walking again. “You have my word. But I’m curious. Do you think it’s a danger? You seem worried but not scared.”
“I wasn’t scared the first time,” Yumiko murmured, her tone ambiguous but sad. She let out a breath and continued a moment later. “No, I don’t think it is a threat. The situation here is different than during that time.”

"I'm confused," Yorusuke started, "if Aizen has Kita why wouldn't everyone be worried? Different or not, if Aizen is involved could it really be good." His head shook as they continued forward. "After this morning's Seireitei Communication release, and what I read there is no way in Hell I would let that man within a mile of her."
Yorusuke's head still shook as he looked over at Yumiko, "A million miles of her. I am sure Ichimaru-sama is out for blood. He seems very protective of her from how the article read."

"You misunderstood me, Nagano-san. I only said that I don't believe that her capture at this time isn't an added threat to Soul Society. Anyone who knows what she's been through already with Aizen...." she paused despite her resolution and sighed, "is worried for her now, Ichimaru included. Do you mind telling me about the article?"
"Third seat Ayumu told the Goddess' story. I found it informative without getting too personal for the Goddess. Ayumu was able to put feeling into words that really makes a person stop and think." He reached into his sleeve of his shihakusho once more and pull out what looked to be a scroll. He handed it to Yumiko.
"Here, now you can read it when you have the time."
Yumiko nodded, taking it and glancing down at it. She doubted she would learn anything new, but it would put the public's opinion in perspective. She put it in her sleeve. "So the interview was a success. I'm glad."

"Proof to that is still in the wind. It may have been distributed throughout Seireitei, but the people have to be open to understanding what the Goddess went through, and even if things seem calm now, that does not mean that when the Goddess shows her face here again the people's feeling won't get in the way again. What took place during the Takeover is still very fresh and a lot of residents of Seireitei were lost." He looked over at Yumiko, "I know the Goddess is not the only one to blame in this, but she is the only one that was involved in the massacre that has had the backbone to show her face back in the Seireitei." He noticed that what he said hit a nerve with Yumiko. "When I say, 'was involved' I mean that has come into Seireitei, and killed. She is the only one that has apologized and tried to rebuild the trust she had lost with the people. In my book that takes more courage than standing against your strongest enemy." Moved
