"Flower":Sojiro had finally returned after hours of being missing, causing Riku what felt like a millennia of worry and frustration at not being able to find him or get into contact with him. When Sojiro finally came back, he looked as if he had the devil on his tail. Yet just like always, he didn't say much of what happened to Riku. Like always, Riku begged to know what was wrong, but all Sojiro told him was "stay inside today." And so he did so as not to frustrate and upset Sojiro even more.
Riku sat curled up in the corner of his favorite couch in the common area, a thick, fall themed blanket decorated with colored leaves and wind patterns with a maroon boarder covering his lap and curling up around his shoulders. On the end table next to him was a steaming mug of tea and on the couch next to his feet was a pile of books. One of his books sat in his lap as he read it. He was the only one in the common area. Everyone else were locked up in their dorm rooms what with the chaos ensuing outside. Riku on the other hand refused to lock himself in his room. Even if it wasn't wise to go outside at the moment, he could still sit in the common room and feel safe. But he had to admit it was nice to be able to sit in the common room and relax in the peace and quiet.

Kaemon shuffled into the common area, dragging his bare feet along the floor. He scratched his bare chest as he slid a hand into the front of his hakama. "Ah. Another lonely soul who dares not be a coward." he said, spotting a classmate sitting on the couch. Kaemon took a seat at an empty table and propped his feet up on the table. "Asuhara, yes? That is you? Or, do I have you mistaken for some other fragile boy whose heart was laid out for all to see by Tanashi?"
Kaemon leaned back in his chair as he gave half a grin. "Well?"

Riku looked up at the newcomer and immediately flushed scarlet. The young man who walked in was wearing naught but his hakama. He was five foot ten and muscular with short black hair combed back on one side and partly falling over his face on the other. His dark gray, almost black eyes reminded him of a cat. Riku immediately slapped his book over his face and stammered.
"Uh, um... Yes, that's me. But, I'm not concerning myself with what happened anymore. It's in the past. What's done is done." He slowly lowered the book and turned his gaze away from the man. "I've moved on. I have much more important things to worry about. I'll get stronger then rematch Ryusuke Tanahashi and win."

"Yes. Yes." Kaemon waved his hand in a dismissive manner. "But, what happens when he ridicules you over your never had love?" He raised an eyebrow as he looked at the bashful boy. "What happens when I ridicule you over the apparent blush still clinging to your face?" Kaemon chuckled as he ran his free hand through his hair.
"And, since you've been so rude as to not ask my name. I am Kaemon Kaiba, Riku Asuhara. Thank you for asking."

If it was possible for every drop of blood in the body to pool in someone's face, then Riku had achieved just that. He fumbled with his book and stood up quickly, the blanket falling off of his lap. He bowed deeply. "I-I'm so sorry, Kaiba-san! P-Pleased to meet you! Please forgive my rudeness!" He closed his book and gathered his blanket up as he sat back down, wrapping it around him. "And... I won't let things like that bother me again. I can't if I'm going to achieve my goals."

"Such frivolous things, goals are." Kaemon rocked forward in his chair, resting all the legs to the floor. Rising from his seat, Kaemon raised his hands above his head as he stretched. "I have more money than a man my age knows what to with. And, the only reason I am here is because of mommy dearest. But, do tell me your goals. And, how they guarantee your avoiding further embarrassment at the hands of your classmates."

"I want to join Squad Eight and the Stealth Force. I want to serve under Captain Ashimitsu. Originally I wanted to get my family back on their feet, but... well, now that they've disowned me, I'm doing it for myself. To make my own life for myself. As for being embarrassed, I suppose I can only be embarrassed by them if I allow myself to, and that's something I won't let happen again."
Riku blinked and looked up at Kaemon. "So, your mother is forcing you to be here? Why so, if you don't mind me asking?"

Kaemon brought a finger to his lips, as if in thought. "The simplest answer," he said, looking to Asuhara with a smile. "Is that it gets me away from our home." Kaemon walked over and sat next to Asuhara. He reached over taking the book from the boy. Looking it over he smiled. "So, why aren't you out there?"
Propping his feet up on the table in front of the couch, Kaemon slouched a bit on the couch. "And, to answer your question. I am in here because I simply do not care. I was sleeping and the commotion woke me."

Riku blinked as Kaemon took the book from him. He pulled his knees up to his chest and leaned back against the couch, his arms folded in his curled up lap. "Well, Sojiro told me that I should stay inside today, so I did. It would probably just worry him if he found out I went outside. He has enough on his plate. I don't want to give him something else to stress about. Besides, it's been pretty nice staying in and relaxing. Especially with everyone else hiding in their rooms."
He reached over for his tea and blew on it before taking a sip. He smiled at Kaemon. "Would you like some tea, Kaiba-san? I brought too much down with me. It's still hot," he reached for the teapot sitting on a pad on the table. Next to it was a second mug, a small pitcher of milk, a bottle of honey and a small bowl of sugar cubes.

Kaemon smiled and gave a nod. "I would enjoy a cup of tea. But, first..." Kaemon reached beneath the blanket covering Asuhara, and grabbed him by the ankles. He pulled his legs from under the blanket.
"There. No more cowering. I won't bite. And, when I do, you will enjoy it." Kaemon gave a half grin. "As for my tea, I would like honey in my tea. Thank you."

Riku flushed once again and nodded. "Okay..." He leaned over and took a small towel, bunching it up before using it to grasp the hot teapot handle. Using the pad, he held the bottom of the pot while he poured the liquid from the pot into the mug, its aroma filling the room. He poured a fair amount of honey--not too much but not too little--into the mug and stirred it with a teaspoon. He smiled as he handed it to Kaemon. "So your home life isn't very good? I apologize if it seems like I'm prying."

Kaemon chuckled as he took the teacup. "Not in the slightest. Home is rather delightful. Very..entertaining." His eyes narrowed slightly as he sipped his tea. "Mother simply wanted me to be away."
Kaemon licked away a bit of honey the was left on the rim of the cup. "I would have to say that I may have the least interesting reason for being here."

Riku sipped his own tea, his eyes fixed on Kaemon's tongue as it touched the rim of the mug. "You can't just go home? What would she do if you did? Drag you back here?"
"Drag me back?" Kaemon shook his head. "No. But, she would want her share."
"Her share?" Riku blinked. "You mean like rent money?"

Kaemon laughed, leaning forward and placing his teacup on the table. "No. Not rent money. But, that is enough about me." Kaemon sighed and closed his eyes as he slouched more on the couch.
"So, what attracted you to the Ichimaru boy? He looks just like his belly crawling father. Not the least bit attractive."

A small part of Riku was pained by Kaemon's words but he ignored it. "Well, in terms of non-physical characteristics, he was the first person not to judge me because of my family's business. That acceptance grew in to very strong feelings of adoration that I guess I kind of confused for love. He's still very important to me, but now I know that those feelings didn't translate into love."
