Kairo rubbed the back of his head. “He’s doing fine. He chased Ukitake-san out of the shop to return here and was getting ready to go chase the substitute down, if need be. He’s one tough man.” Looking away, he chuckled. “It’s too bad I was holding a lady when he unleashed his Bankai. I’m sure it would have been a awe-inspiring sight.”
He sighed again and looked at his best friend. His eyes narrowed. “Sit, Tsuki. Before you go do anything, I am going to say something that Ukitake-Taichou said to the substitute who has been thinking along the same lines as you. They’re about Ichimaru and I think the words have some merit.”
Tsukiro gave his friend a warning glare, but Kairo met it without flinching, eyes like steel.
Tsukiro finally growled and sat. “Fine, Kai, say it.” He looked across the room to the bookshelves.
Kairo folded his arms. He knew Tsukiro was listening. Finding a knot on the wooden desk before him, he started. “Ichimaru saved Kita’s life.” Immediately, Kairo felt the spike in energy as Tsukiro clenched his hands into his chair, but he didn’t rise.
Kairo took a breath, adjusting to his friend’s rage, and continued. “The captain is not saying the snake has not done evil, but because of who Ichimaru was in that man’s game field, Aizen did not put all of his effort towards breaking Kita for her power, which would have left us dead, slaves, or running and unable to stop others’ suffering from a god.” He took another breath. “And if Kita had never befriended the snake, the battle with Aizen would still be going around us. Because Ichimaru was Aizen’s weak point. No one else would be allowed to get close enough.”
He fell silent, watching the carefully controlled rise-and-fall of Tsukiro’s chest, a tell-tale sign that he was keeping his feelings in check, and then let out a long breath, drawing his zanpakuto. “Alright, let me have it,” he said.

Tsukiro's eyes met Kairo's again as he looked at him with his zanpakuto drawn readying himself for retaliation from his Captain and friend. Standing slowly from his chair without a sound Tsukiro walked over to the door in his office and slid it open.
"I will do what I have to do to keep everyone safe. I have heard your side. You have your opinion and I have mine. It does not matter if Ichimaru saved her life a thousand times. It will never repay what he has done over the centuries to the others. I am not taking this personal Kairo. No matter how much you want to believe that I am. I am not. I will admit." Tsukiro paused.
"This does play in my favor, but you can't stand there and tell me you trust this man just because of him killing Aizen and saving a girls life you yourself, do not even know. Ichimaru is a danger to everyone. With or without Aizen's influence. Will you argue that point as well?"

Kairo sheathed his zanpakuto again and rubbed the back of his neck, looking at the back of his friend and captain. “You know I don’t trust the man,” he murmured at last. “I know his record - and that’s only what we do know - not to mention we from the Stealth Force are less forgiving than most soldiers. ” He stepped over to Tsukiro and clasped his shoulder. “I was being the devil’s advocate and relaying Captain Ukitake’s words because he said it was specifically for Kita’s friends. And … I know you don’t want to hurt her.”

Tsukiro nodded looking back over his shoulder at Kairo, "not only do I not want to hurt her. I don't want to see her hurt. There are no promises what Ichimaru will be like when he comes out of that coma. He could be a changed man. Then again. He could be no better or maybe even worse than what he was before."
He turned looking at his lieutenant. "As members, a Captain and a Lieutenant of the Gotei 13; can we allow this to continue? This cruel and inhuman cycle has to be broken once and for all."

“I understand your feelings and your argument is solid,” Kairo murmured, running a hand through his hair. “However, you have that look in your eyes. You’re thinking of taking that step yourself, of addressing Central yourself as a captain, Stealth Force leader, and a Shihoin head. Is there a reason you’re not going to ask the captain commander first?”

Tsukiro sighed shaking his head. "I have my reasons." He looked to Kairo with a stern look. "This stays between us. When I have fully thought this through I will make my move. Not a minute before not a minute after. There are pros and cons to this and they have to be weighed. I don't want to make waves, but if after talking to the Commander and I feel I should address it with Central instead of him I will go over his head and talk to them."

Kairo nodded. “As you wish, commander. It will stay between us.”
He waited for any further orders and then continued. “The casualties of Eighth Division, Tenth Division, and Stealth Forces were about the same, relatively battered but with few deaths. I believe that is due to the toxin the 12th division captain made. The arrancar weren’t focused or paid more attention to the battle between the leaders. Eleventh Division suffered higher losses because they did not use the serum as often.”
He pulled at the collar of his stealth uniform for a moment before he went on. “Of the leaders, the enemy side lost Cassava the Ninth Espada - handless due to Kisuke Urahara, Szayel the Eighth - from a brutal encounter with Kurosaki (though he has been known to eat his own kind to heal himself). The Sixth and Fifth fought Lieutenant Abarai and Captain Zaraki, sustaining injuries, and Captain Kuchiki’s kido marked Whisper the Second. Loki was in Urahara’s Bankai for a considerable amount of time but is unlikely to be dead. Aizen is dead, but his body is unaccounted for. Vale Tervaden was defeated by Ukitake but escaped prison. Of our side, Captains Ukitake, Komamura, Hitsugaya, Mutsu, and Urahara took the most damage. The substitute’s status is unknown due to the situation of the Inoue girl, and Ichimaru is in a coma. I think that covers my report.”
When Tsukiro stayed silent, Kairo sighed theatrically and fell to the ground. Leaning against the wall, he waved at his captain, who raised an eyebrow. “Tsukiro, you’re lucky. You’re pining over a girl who you’re close to. This battle was the first time I got to carry a lady who wasn’t Naomi - who I look to like a sister - and the girl was in too much pain to even notice.”

Tsukiro chuckled and kneeled down next to Kairo placing his hand on his shoulder. "Are you telling me you are sweet on Karin?" Kairo laughed lightly and ran a hand through his hair. "I think I may be bold enough to say that, yes. Scary older brother aside, I liked fighting beside her and she's nicely built too."
Tsukiro stood as he chuckled beneath his breath, offering his hand to help Kairo up. "Kai, you idiot. I thought I was the only stupid one when it came to women."
"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked.
Tsukiro clasps his hand around Kairo's forearm as Kairo grabbed Tsukiro's and he help him up off the floor. "It means don't let her get away from you, and don't put it off forever either. If you like her. Go for it."
Once Kairo was standing Tsukiro rested his arm on his friends shoulder. "And once you have her," he sighed shaking his head, "don't be a fool and let her go when she is the only women you truly love."

Kairo elbowed him. "Do I need to sic my evil female alter ego on you? I know she'd like another chance to corner you all night with a party." Tsukiro groaned and shook his head with a wry smile. Kairo set his arm on his own shoulder. "It wasn't your fault that you lost her, old friend. You know this." He squeezed his shoulder and moved in front of him, looking over his shoulder with another smile. "Come on, let's spar. You can give me pointers on how to get Karin to like me without getting pummeled by either the substitute or her, and you need a break."
Tsukiro chuckled and followed his lead. "Sounds like she's a good fit for you. You need someone else to keep that pride of yours from outgrowing your size."
Kairo smirked. "I hope that you're referring to the fact that you're a head taller than me not my sword, Tsuki, or you might walk away with more of a limp than you want."
Tsukiro just overtook him and waved over his shoulder, beckoning him on.

"An End To An End":After finishing his paperwork, Tsukiro sat in his office pondering his next move. A move he had been thinking on for weeks now. Aizen was dead or at least that was the report. However, it was not over. One man still walked free. A man just as ruthless and evil as the man they claimed to be dead. Yes, Ichimaru Gin. The word was he was in a coma, but for how long? And when would he break free of this said coma and was there a guarantee that this man had truly changed? No. There was not. Only the word of a confessed girl that believed Ichimaru had changed, a girl that did not know Ichimaru like the rest of them. He sighed heavily running his fingers through his hair as he leaned forward propping his head to his hands on his desktop. He hated this feeling. He hated that he was having to go against a women's word that he trusted so much, but it was something that could not go over looked. Ichimaru Gin was a liability. Not only to Soul Society, but to the woman he adored, and in the position he held now he could not just stand by waiting and hoping that what Kita says is truth. Ichimaru Gin needed to be behind bars and stripped of his powers for his betrayal and crimes he committed over the centuries. Finally, Tsukiro stood from his desk grabbing his Stealth Force haori, he headed to First Division to speak to the man in charge. Captain Commander Kyoraku. Moved

"To Take a Dare":It was the weekend finally and Naomi had had the biggest part of the day off, a day of gathering the courage to go see Kairo. Her dare from Rangiku gave her three days. Two had past and she had to get it done or she would have failed in completing it. She did not want that. She took it for a reason. She just hoped in doing this it would prove to her she was being a silly love sick school girl and Kairo was just being Kairo. His typical flirtatious self. Just like always.
Slowly she made her way through division eight back to one of the training grounds, she was told that was where she would find Kairo. Walking through the tall grassy field she could see Kairo off in the distance. She remained on guard just in case one of the attacks he was using came her way. The last thing she wanted was to have to go see Captain Kotetsu from an injury and on top of that make Kairo feel bad for hurting her. Not to mention. She was on a training field one should always be on guard when walking on to one unannounced. The more she walked toward him the farther he seemed to move away. She stopped and sighed softly her heart starting to race as she remembered why she was there. Her hand quickly rose to her chest as she clutched the front of her pale blue kimono.
"What am I doing here? This is so going to backfire in my face." Her free hand went to her forehead as she turned, both hands dropping back to her side. Quickly she started making her way back to the barracks of division eight so she could return to her own room.
"I am such an idiot." Her hands starting to feel clammy as she wiped them on her kimono, her pace picking up. Not paying attention she stepped in a small hole and started to fall forward. Her eyes widened as she extended her arms to catch herself.

Kairo heard the squeak from his observer and leaped into shunpo. An instant later, he caught Naomi in his arms just before she hit the ground. Her lavender hair escaped her clip, and his free hand caught that. Chuckling, green eyes twinkling, he tugged her up into his arms and lifted her off the ground, carrying over to a less steep slope. He set her down again and sat down by her, wiping his brow.
Kairo then winked. “Hello, my favorite bubblehead,” he murmured, “you dropped this.” He handed her the clip. “Come around to be mesmerized?”

A shy smiled crossed her lips as she took the clip then quickly looked away. "Modest much?" Her cheeks flushed at the thought of the real reason she was there. Her heart started to race again, her palms turning most as she rubbed them to her kimono again.
"Thank you for catching me," she said looking back to him, she stood quickly. "Sorry I bother--" getting her feet tangled she started to fall forward again. She reached out spinning slightly and grabbing Kairo's shoulder, and a handful of his shihakusho. With Kairo also trying to catch her. Their arms tangled with trying to grab one another and Naomi ended up falling, taking Kairo with her. She fell pulling Kairo down with her as she some how ended up on top of him. Her face turned bright red as she looked into his bright green eyes a smirk plastered on his face.

Kairo laughed lightly and rested his hands above his head, not bothering to fix his gaping uniform. “Well then, I needed to take a break from training anyways. And I see no better way than this. Besides, I kind of miss this from our days in Ukitake’s division. Catching tomato bubbleheads was a very fun experience,” he continued in the same light, teasing voice. “She’s going to explode~” he whispered in a low, seductive voice.

Naomi blushed a deeper red looking away from him but she did not move. She couldn't, her body would not let her or her brain. No matter how much she told herself to get up she couldn't.
Finally, she was pulled from her state of mind when she heard one of Kairo's squad members chuckle and shout out.
"Damn Lieutenant at least take it your room or office!"
Naomi quickly pushed up off him and scampered to her feet.
"Maybe we should go to your room." Slipped from Naomi's mouth as she quickly slapped her hand over her mouth, eyes wide as saucers her feet started moving. Where she was going she did not know she just knew she had to get away from Kairo from what split from her mouth.
