Kisuke entered the room with a vial and a small syringe as Juushiro turned looking at him his eyes widened.
"What do you have there, Kisuke?"
Kisuke lifted the vial first. "This will help her reiatsu restore faster. I just need to add it to her tea and have her drink it." He then lifted the syringe. "This is the antidote I made for Kita when Ichimaru gave me Kita's saliva when Aizen gave Kita that pill to block her memories. I don't know if it will work. One: I don't know if Aizen gave her the same pill or Two: He had Szayel tinker around in her head. The latter of the two can be fixed with a simple Kido if this doesn't work. The sad part." Kisuke paused with a sigh. "If this does work I don't know how long it will take for her memories to return and I don't know how much she will actually remember in the end."
Juushiro sighed and nodded his head as he watched Kisuke lift Yumiko's sleeve holding the syringe between his teeth as he reached into his pocket for an alcohol wipe. He tore the package open and rubbed the bend of her arm with it. He then pulled the cap lowering the syringe to her arm.
"Quick stick Yumiko." He stuck her with the syringe and injected her with the antidote.

Yumiko nodded and stood still, wincing as the needle went through her skin. As the antidote emptied into her bloodstream, she composed herself, burying all her emotions away, especially any pull that remained inside towards Aizen. Her tears stopped and her trembling halted.
Kisuke then put the contents of the vial into her tea and handed it to her. "Try to drink all of it. You'll need your energy," he instructed.
Yumiko nodded again and took the cup, draining it in silence.
A few moments later, she shook her head. "The headache's still there."

Juushiro sighed and Kisuke frowned. "I don't know if it will go away immediately," he admitted. "Some of that might be your own consciousness trying to pull the memories back." He sat down and raised a hand to her head. "Though if it's the brainwashing of machines, this will help." He set a pulse of Kido into Yumiko's mind. Yumiko went rigid then slumped forward, unconscious.
Juushiro sighed. "I don't know how to thank you, Kisuke old friend."
"Don't thank me," Kisuke said, taking a seat and sipping his cold tea before making a face and setting it aside. "Kita's the one who put the key piece of doubt in her mind, and it was Yumiko who decided to come here for answers, though I don't thinks she knew exactly why. In addition, we still don't know how much we can heal. It's far from over for her."
Juushiro didn't reply, remaining silent. He had watched Yumiko withdraw into herself and barely kept himself from reaching out to her. At the moment, she didn't know him. Then there was... His eyes slowly clouded.
"What is it, old friend?" Kisuke pressed gently.
"You got Shunsui's report, didn't you?"
Kisuke nodded from beneath his hat. "Do you think she's here to stay after the goddess' words?" Juushiro asked in but a whisper, conveying his worst fear.
What if this was some sick ray of hope?

Kisuke sighed and adjusted his hat. "That is something I could not tell you," he turned looking at his long-time friend. "But I will tell you this. If she decides to stay--" Kisuke looked across the room and out the window. "You know Aizen will make everyone suffer for her betrayal and if he finds out it was Kita that planted that seed of doubt." He pulled his hat down over his eyes and looked back to his cold cup of tea taking it in his hands.
"Not even the goddess will be able to protect Kita."

Juushiro visibly paled. That was true. He had been so overwhelmed with his thoughts about Yumiko that he had forgotten how she came here. He lowered his head to the young woman sleeping in his arms. Kisuke was right. This wasn't like it was with Hinamori, whom Sousuke tossed away after serving one sole purpose. If he knew Sousuke as well as he thought he did, he would be back for Yumiko, with or without her memories. And if found out who had broken the web he had so carefully constructed around her...
Juushiro reached over and pressed a hand to his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Kisuke. I shouldn't have asked."

Kisuke shook his head looking up at Juushiro. "Kita knows what she has gotten herself into. From day one. And telling Yumiko what she did, she did for a reason. Hopefully, that reason is--because--her and Ichimaru are drawing closer to coming home. If not, then Kita dies. I will not rest until I have found her in the Rukongai. I won't let her efforts of all this be in vain."
He lowered his head again. "I won't. I can't."

Juushiro nodded, his hand tightening on his shoulder. "You won't be looking for her alone. I owe her a great debt for saving Yumiko, and even if she hadn't done that, no one should have to go through what she has. Even if it's for the greater good. We'll find her if it comes to that. If not... " he fell silent, "then let's hope Ichimaru is enough to keep her going. Don't give up hope, Kisuke, she wouldn't want that."

Kisuke gave a half smile and looked to Juushiro. "I could never give up on Kita. She is a fighter and she won't let Aizen break her." He chuckled softly. "In reality, I see Kita as Aizen's little annoyance. She will do everything in her power to bring a stop to what he is doing or at least set him back months at a time."
He reached for the pot of tea and warmed up his cold tea then poured a cup for Juushiro. "She and Ichimaru will buy us time. The Goddess included." He turned and gave Juushiro an honest Kisuke smile. "Aizen won't walk away so easily this time." He lifted his cup to his friend. "To take Aizen out once and for all."

"I believe in you and her more than I do the goddess," Juushiro replied. "To a peace that will last more than a few years and one that will allow all our wounds to heal."
Kisuke nodded. "That would be a wish to work towards," he agreed, sipping his tea. Suddenly, he flipped his fan out. "And when it gets boring, i can create just enough mischief to keep Central from reconsidering my pardon."
Juushiro chuckled and shook his head lightly.
As Tessai came and took Yumiko to a room, the two finished their cups of tea and considered what lay ahead, after the war. The future.

"Waking Up": (continued) Kisuke sat down at the table with a long heavy sigh. "You let her go." He poured them both a cup of hot tea and slid Juushiro his cup. "It won't be easy, but if you don't let her go she may never be able to put this behind her. I am sure she feels she has unfinished business with Aizen for what he has done to her."
Kisuke looked to Juushiro. "The Goddess will keep them all safe. We have to trust in that."

Meanwhile, Yumiko sat on her futon, dressed in a black shihakusho with a black belt and combing her hair out. She'd been tempted to use the bubble bath that had been left in the bathroom but decided against it. She didn't have time to relax. She didn't know how long she had been asleep and how long it would take for Aizen to realize she was gone. Her hands halted.
What would going back mean?
She sighed and continued to work on her hair. It didn't matter. Now that she knew what she did, she worried what Aizen would do if she didn't go back. She didn't have a choice. She needed to go back before her actions caused others to be hurt.

Juushiro looked into his cup of tea. “You’re right. We do have to trust in that,” he murmured. The captain closed his eyes. “Then I suppose we don’t have time to check her eyes.” Kisuke raised his hat to better look at him.
“Her eyes used to be blue, but there’s a violet tint to them now," Juushiro explained. "It could be a mark leftover by the sealing, but she did mention something about her eyes. Maybe it wasn't only her memories that were messed with."

"It could be. I would like to examine her before she goes, but she has been here long enough with no surprise visitors. Who knows how much longer that will last."
At that Kisuke turned as a bright light showed in the room and Kita and some strange man stepped from the gate. Kisuke quickly stood not sure of their intentions.
"I spoke too soon." His eyes slightly narrowed.

Kita stepped from the gate with Vale at her side seeing Kisuke then Juushiro go quickly on the defence causing Vale to place his hand on the hilt of his own sword. She lifted her hands and looked at Kisuke and Juushiro then rested her hand on Vale's shoulder.
"It's alright. I am not here on Aizen's orders. I am here on my own accord." Kita told them. "Sumi told me Yumiko came to the human realm." She looked around feeling Yumiko's reiatsu. She was there with them like she figured she would be.
"Is she alright?" Kita asked them.

Juushiro nodded, still tense as he studied the man before him.
Kisuke kept his hand on his sword. "I know you mean well, Kita, but what side is your 'friend' on?"
"Probably no one's but his own," Juushiro replied, startling his friend. "He's a wanderer, banned from Seireitei." He shrugged in apology at Kisuke and turned to the scarred man with Kita. His eyes narrowed as he tried to pull a name from his memory. "Tervaden, correct?" he asked.
