Tsukiro didn't know what to say, or if he could anything at all. In the back of his mind he knew that she would just have to see for herself that this was home. But there was another thing that couldn't wait for her to come around and realize.
He swallowed hard and took a deep breath. "Kita... I know you don't remember... but there's something I need to tell you, regardless of that." He squeezed her hands firmly. "Kita, I love you. I always have, and I always will. And you do too, even though you don't remember. You've always known it. We were together, and we still are, again, even though you don't remember." He smiled at her sadly. "But that's okay. I'll wait. I'll wait for you to remember. I'll wait for you forever. I'll always be here for you, no matter what. Even if you forget everything and never remember anything, I'll stay here with you until my dying breath."
He kissed her hands gently, still smiling at her. |

Kita looked at him confused. "But..." She tried to look back at Izuru as Tsukiro caught her and made her look at him. "Master Gin? What about Master Gin? Why are we here?" She shook her head. "And what about Vacanze? What happen to him? Where is Vacanze?" She wanted to look at Izuru but Tsukiro would not let her. Tears started to sting her eyes again.
She heard Izuru sigh as well as Tsukiro. "Why won't anyone answer my questions?"

"Because you won't understand even if we told you. You have lost a portion of your memory. Like amnesia. Even if we spent all day--all week--explaining, you wouldn't understand. We'd only confuse you more. All you need to know is that you're home. You're with people that love you dearly and would never let anyone hurt you. You're safe. You're where you belong."
Tsukiro reached out slowly and caressed her cheek. "All you need to know is that I love you and I would do anything to keep you safe. I won't let you be taken away from me again. I'm here for you. Okay? And if you still want me to explain things, I'll do the best I can." |

Kita shook her head, "but Vacanze protected me. He took care of me. Now he is gone. Home was the palace with Master Gin, Vacanze and Izuru. I was cared for there. Taken care of and looked after."
"Kita..." Izuru told her kissing the back of her neck. "My home was always here. Not the palace. Remember? I was in Master Gin's room after you and Azayaka's fight. We had just met then. Remember the things I told you about? Tsukiro? The silly Shopkeeper? And everything else. I was taken from the Soul Society the same time you were."
"I what?" Kita jumped up and looked between them. "I have never been to the soul society. You're lying, Izuru."
Izuru went to grab her hands when she quickly moved away from between them but Tsukiro beat him to it.

"Kita look at me," he said. He moved his hands from hers to her face, caressing her cheeks. He looked deep in her eyes. "You have been to Soul Society. You escaped from Las Noches and I found you. Kisuke, the shopkeeper who owns this place, he told me to take you to Soul Society to keep you safe. You helped the Soul Reapers identify Azayaka. Before you were taken again, you were in my room in Soul Society. Yoruichi, my teacher, brought you the hairpins. When I came home..."
Tsukiro choked up on the sweet memory that seemed like centuries ago. "When I came home you were lying on my bed. You looked more beautiful than you ever had before, which I didn't think possible. We shared that night together. We held each other all night. We never let go of each other." Tears streamed down his cheeks as he struggled to keep his breathing even.
"Kita, I told you I wanted to marry you. We talked about out future together. Please, please remember. I know you're in there Kita. I know it's still you. And I know my Kita, the love of my life could never EVER forget something like that. My Kita would always remember how much I love her. And she would always remember how much she loves me back. And I know it's you."
He kissed her cheek softly then kissed her forehead. He pulled her against him gently. He held her gingerly, stroking her hair. "I know you're still my girl. You just have to remember all of the things that made you into who you really are. You're my girl, Kita, and I'll never let you go." |

Kita started to cry. She did not know if it was because of what Tsukiro told her or because everything was so foreign. She was confused and scared. She felt lost. One minute she was having lunch with Master Gin, Izuru and the girl Yumiko and when Yumiko left all hell broke loose in the palace. Kita pulled away from Tsukiro and looked frantically around room. Everything was so different. She remembered running away, but where did she go and why? She remembered the hairpins, but where did she get them and why? She felt comfortable with Tsukiro, even having him as close as he gets to her, with him touching her. But why?
She turned quickly then turned again. She felt trapped as more tears fell. She drew her hand to her head and cast her eyes down. She quickly reached around her neck and felt the choker. She grabbed it with her hand and pulled.

Izuru watched her carefully making sure she did not go into a panic and run out looking for Gin. When she turned he was ready to grab her, but she quickly turned back. When Kita's hand went to her neck Izuru's heart skipped a beat. She then grabbed it and started to pull against it.
"NO!" Izuru yelled darting toward her. He grabbed her hand taking it quickly away from the choker.

Tsukiro grabbed her hands and firmly pulled her into a bear hug. He held her arms around her body. He sat down and pulled her into his lap. She cried and sobbed but he still held on. He rocked her side to side, shushing her.
"Kita, it's okay. I'm here. I'm right here. No one is going to hurt you. You're okay. Just listen to my voice. That's all you have to do. Just calm down and listen to my voice. You're safe. Everything will make sense soon." |

Kita grabbed Tsukiro's shirt holding on to it for dear life as she buried her face into his chest. "I don't understand. Why can't I remember?" She sobbed.
"Why is it so hard for me to remember?"

Tsukiro petted her hair and kissed the top of her head. "Aizen gave you a pill that was supposed to wipe your memories. I heard Ichimaru say to Kisuke that the seraph, Sumi kept this from happening, however, she erased the parts of your memory that involve how you feel about all of us, including your memory of Kisuke, so that Aizen couldn't use us against you to break you. More than anything he wants the seraph so that he can wreak havoc upon Soul Society and kill the Soul King. To keep that from happening, Sumi sealed your memories of us. However, when Aizen put that collar on you, it sealed Sumi's powers. That means that you won't remember until we get the collar off." He sighed and shook his head. "But if we force the collar off... you'll die..."

Kita looked quickly up at Tsukiro and then Izuru as he kneeled beside them. Izuru nodded.
"Why do you think I stopped you?"
Kita looked down at her hands now in her lap. "I remember lord Aizen giving me some kind of pill. I remember Sumi taking me to the Godly realm, but I don't remember why. When I woke up. It was like nothing changed. All but..."
"All but what, Kita?" Tsukiro asked her.
The tears started to fall again. "Master Gin was so sad. Almost as if he had been crying. He was sitting next to my bedside waiting for me to wake up. I will never forget his sad eyes. I had never seen him like that before."
Kita rested her head against Tsukiro's shoulder once more. "His eyes were so sad." She whispered.

Stroking Kita's long hair once more, Izuru stood from his kneeling position beside Tsukiro and Kita. He looked down at the two of them with saddened eyes as Tsukiro rocked Kita in his lap. He did not know who was hurting more. Kita or Tsukiro. He sighed heavily.
"I am going to go get Kita something to eat. I am sure she is hungry. Vacanze made sure she was well feed and on time." Izuru combed his fingers through his hair. "Try not to upset her anymore. Gin is going to be pissed as it is we went this far with it and don't let her cry out for him. He will be in here so quick it will make your head spin."
Izuru turned and walked toward the door turning to look at them again. "You want anything, Tsukiro? My cooking is not as good as Kita's but at least you won't starve or die from eating it." Izuru chuckled softly trying to lighten things up.
Tsukiro shook his head as Izuru nodded. "Alright then. I will be right back."

Tsukiro didn't say anything more. He only sat there and held her. He kissed her face every so often, rocking her back and forth. Even if she didn't remember their love for each other, he was still happy to have her in his arms. He sighed and rested his cheek on her head.
"I love you, Kita. More than anyone ever could. More than anyone could ever fathom. I'll wait forever until you remember. And then we can be together like we promised each other." He kissed her again. "I love you. I love you so much."
He stayed there with her as long as he could, surprisingly, not worrying about anything. He only focused on her warmth and her scent. |

After a while, Kita lifted her head from Tsukiro's shoulder. "I am sorry I don't remember. I wish I did. I remember you, but only from the first time we met. You save me from what you called a hollow." She chuckled softly. "Funny I had no idea what they were and then I end up living with a palace full of them. And with none other than Master Gin. I remember when I met him too, but I can't remember where we were when we met."
She tilted her head. "Do you? Were you there when I met Master Gin?"

"You met him here. But no, I wasn't here when you met him." He put on a false smile. What he didn't tell her was that if he was, he wouldn't have let her anywhere near him. She never would have gotten the chance to get to know him. "Can I tell you about the night we first became a couple?"
