"The luxury of sitting on my ass?!" shouted Kenji. "I've been working hard while you and your band of arrogant pricks have been sitting at your round table bitching at each other over policies! Nothing is getting done because none of you want it to happen! So, I'm going to do it.""Go ahead. Keep getting your ass handed to you." "Oh! Like you're fairing any better! Had that god not come by I could have taken the hogyoku and left. But, I couldn't do that. Now, could I?" He turned, waving a hand over his shoulder as he walked out of the room. "Let me know what happens in three hours, dad."
Kenji could hear Kisuke curse beneath his breath and Kita sigh. He slammed the door behind him as he walked away.

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: Deep RenewalEpisode 308 "Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig": Isshin wavered, his hands extending slightly out to his sides to help with his balance as he appeared in the center of the living room of his family home. He looked around quickly wondering if it were some kind of trick or illusion. Just moments before he was in the middle of an all-out battle in the middle of the day. Now. Now, he was home and it was evening, 'what the hell was going on'? Suddenly there was the appearance of his family's reiatsu. Then the appearance of the ones at Urahara Shop. All but that of the snakes and the hollow Vacanze. Suddenly he heard footsteps above him as they quickly ran toward the steps. "Dad!" Karin and Yuzu yelled out in unison. Then the deep voice of his son, Ichigo called out to him next. "Dad!" Their footsteps quickly descended the stairs as he moved toward the stairwell himself. Yuzu and Karin leaped at the same time from the third step, tackling him as he took a couple of steps back. He could not help a hearty chuckle as he spun them in place and kissed their cheeks. Ichigo smiled brightly as he stepped up to his sisters and father, embracing them in a group hug. His father returned his son's hug as well. "What the hell is going on?" Ichigo asked. Her father shook his head as she looked at her brother. "Who cares! We are out of that hell hole and home." Karin expressed.Yuzu's head only nodded agreeing with her twin. Isshin then let his hand rest on the top of her head, letting it slide down to her shoulder. "I don't know what took place to get us back home, but if anyone knows it's Urahara or Kita." Moved

"Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig": (Continued)
Ichigo turned to see Evita coming in. When he saw the look on her face he hesitated, unsure of how to react. He wasn't even a hundred percent sure on what was going on, but now he found Evita thrown into the mix with the rest of his family suddenly. As if he blinked and they all had been dropped off at home like they had always been a family, which surely wasn't the case.
After a moment of consideration, he decided it would be best to just treat her the same as his sisters. Whatever relationship bloomed from that would be on her part. He gave a sigh and shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "Maybe we think about what to do from here first before thinking about making an ultimate ice cream sundae."
He waved her over to the rest of the family. "Don't just stand there like a bump on a log. Come on. You don't have to hang out by the door like a stranger."
Evita folded her arms. "I don't do family hugs."
Ichigo grunted and ran his hand through his hair nervously. "I mean... I didn't say you had to get all mushy. But you don't have to outcast yourself either. You're still family."

“And you’re here,” Karin pointed out, still sandwiched between her father and twinnie. This wasn’t usually her thing either, but sometimes, situations called for silly things. And she liked the warmth. But still, Ichigo and Evita stood there all awkward with a few feet in between them. Neither spoke.
Too much silence for her right now.
“Damn it guys, come on,” Karin rolled her eyes and slipped out from under her twin’s arm. She leapt forward, and ignoring Ichigo’s protest, grabbed Evita’s sleeve.
Evita’s head snapped up to her but didn’t pull herself free. “What are you doing?”
“Doing what you want to do but don’t know how to do!” Karin pulled her into the room and then pushed her at Ichigo. “Seriously, you’re like a younger me. So just go!”

Evita twisted her head at Karin, ready to protest at being compared to someone as inferior as her, before she bit her tongue and stopped herself, just in time to trip towards Ichigo. And of course he caught her. When she still didn’t know what to say after saying no to the hug. Now what?
She was not good at this thing. Feelings were still weird. Even when back on this side.
“Sorry, Ichi,” she muttered, stumbling over his name again.
But he wasn’t Strawberry anymore.

Ichigo scratched the back of his head and chuckled. "Don't worry about it." He set a hand on her shoulder, then removed it when he saw her look to his hand then back up at her. He raised his hand defensively then let his arm fall back down to his side. "You know, you're a lot like me when I was your age, too. Social interaction wasn't always my best area in life."
He gave her a reassuring smile, placing his hands on his hips. "In fact I'm pretty sure I got along better with the dead than the living. Just be patient with yourself, but don't forget to step outside your comfort zone sometimes. If you don't do the things that scare you--that you don't think you can do--then you'll never grow."

Yuzu giggled when Evita gave a noncommittal hum at that and hugged her dad again. “Well, if Evita’s here, I don’t think this is an illusion. Just need the explanation from Urahara and we’re all set to go. As well as we can be. Until we do a head count in the morning.”
To be honest, there had been a few times since she’d regained her memories in Las Noches that she had wondered if even her family would make it. They’d made it through so many things, but actually forgetting her family hit her the hardest. They had lost. She’d expected being separated from Vacanze, even some of her family, if they ended up in the enemies’ clutches, but she’d never considered losing everything about their unit. It still ached.
When Karin looked to her, she wiped at her eyes and waved. It wasn’t the right time to cry. She’d worry everyone and they needed more attention than her. Yuzu walked to the window, pulling the curtain back. “I wonder if Vacanze appeared in the shop with the others.”

"I am not feeling his reiatsu, sweetie, but I am sure wherever he is, he is fine." He looked around at his family once more a wide smile crossed his lips.
"I think we are going to be alright," Patting Yuzu on the shoulder, he looked over at his son. "I think I am going to visit Urahara, see if he knows anything about this."
Ichigo nodded, "Do you want me to come along?"
Isshin shook his head as he walked toward the front door of their home, "no, stay with the girls. I won't be long."
Ichigo nodded as he watched his father grap his jacket and leave the home to go speak to Kisuke.

Ichigo gave a sigh of relief and turned to look at his sisters and Evita, only to find Karin already raiding the fridge and freezer. "Really Karin? We've been home for ten minutes and you're already looking for snacks?" He shook his head, crossing his arms. "Oh give it a rest, Ichi." Karin waved him off as she rooted through the fridge. "I'm a grown woman. I can eat whatever I want." Ichigo took a breath to protest but released it in another sigh as he found no way to refute her. She was right, after all. The twins weren't children anymore. He shrugged and raised his hands. He turned to see an expression of longing in Evita's eyes as she watched Karin pull out a carton of ice cream and inspect it Yuzu had moved next to her to look through the items in the fridge as well.
"Well, I guess that's that then. Let's at least have some real food along with it." He waved Evita into the kitchen with him. "Uh, Ichi. I think we'll have to go grocery shopping for that," Yuzu lifted up a carton of eggs and a gallon of milk. "You don't even want to know what the expiration dates are on these. And I'm not sure I trust whatever shinigami, hollow or god powers did all this." Ichigo looked at the milk and eggs, taking them from Yuzu's hands. They looked fine, but once he saw the date he grimaced. "Yeah, let's not." He set them back in the fridge for the moment and looked around. They had always kept some emergency cash on hand. He went back into the living room and opened a drawer in the end table next to the couch. He reached inside and felt around the underside of the top interior of the drawer. He pulled out a medium sized envelope and opened it up, pulling out a stack of bills. He turned to the girls and grinned, holding it up.
"Alright. Get cleaned up and ready to go. We got places to be." --END RP-- "What Happened?"

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 424 "No Substitutions": It was after breakfast in the Kurosaki household and the younger Kurosakis had finished cleaning up before heading out to run errands and enjoy the weather. He wasn't quite sure where they were going, but it wasn't necessarily his business to know anymore. As long as they were safe and could hold their own against any trouble, Ichigo didn't make their business his business. Until someone tried to hurt them. Then it became his business.
And as it stood, ever since the previous day when Me... Meth... whatever his name was... had come into the clinic with two Soul Reapers on the brink of death and Ichigo could do nothing to help them but make sure they didn't bleed to death, he had been thinking deeply about his abilities as a shinigami.
A "substitute" shinigami.
That word had pricked at his mind several times over the years. He was a "substitute". Like a substitute teacher. And like a substitute teacher, he found that title carried little weight or authority, even with the respect and honor he had won in the Winter War. It also signified his lack of ability. Ichigo had a zanpakuto, sword skills, a bankai, and flash step to his name as a Soul Reaper. He thought about the full-fledged shinigami in his life and what their abilities were compared to his own. Granted, he was human and also a Quincy and housed a hollow, but his title of shinigami had always been first and foremost to him. But he was starting to feel the gap between him and his comrades like Kisuke, Yoruichi, Tsukiro, Toshiro, and many others.
Even his own father was a Soul Reaper at one time. A captain at that. Toshiro and Rangiku's captain. He had gone through the academy and learned everything there was to being a Soul Reaper. And there was one thing Ichigo now saw in himself that he was lacking.
Kido.
Sure, even Renji was crap at performing Kido, but he still had to at least try and learn it. He could at the very least fire off a spell, even if it backfired. Ichigo had never even attempted. Kisuke never taught him Kido, finding that it was unneeded at the time given how frantic they were to stop Rukia's execution. And then the snowball started rolling. And it kept rolling. And rolling. And now here he was decades later, becoming stagnant with his abilities. He knew shinigami had a ceiling for how powerful they could become, but if Ichigo didn't even attempt to use his reiatsu to all of its potential, then he couldn't really say he had hit his ceiling.
He had to learn. He wanted to learn. He had witnessed many incredible feats of Kido throughout the years and he knew its power and potential. He needed to be able to harness that for himself so he could be of better help to those around him. And not just healing spells. Offensive and defensive as well.
He let out a low grumble, sitting at the kitchen table with one arm folded and his chin in the other hand. Suddenly he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He turned to see his father coming down to the main floor. He quickly stood up from his chair, pressing his hands into the table. "Hey! Dad, wait up." He shuffled off to catch his father before he disappeared into the clinic. "I got somethin' I wanna ask you about."

Isshin stopped in the path he was following, turned, and looked at his boy. He wore a wide smile and hands on his hips. "Anything for my boy, but," he lifted his arm looking at the watch on his left wrist. "I can only spare you 20 minutes." He looked back at his son still smiling and pointed over his shoulder with his thumb. "Need to get the clinic open. I have an early appointment." "It won't take too long. I'll help you even," Ichigo shook his head, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he followed his dad into the clinic. "Actually, I was wondering. I know you started a clinic because you had some medical knowledge from when you were a Soul Reaper. Were you any good at Kido?""I was not bad at it, but I was no Urahara or Tsukabishi." He looked over at his son as they walked. "Why are you asking? Does this have something to do with yesterday evening?" He pushed open the clinic door. Moved

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 467 "Where is Aizen Part II: New Tricks - Grim vs. Ichigo": Grimmjow strolled down the quiet street, his presence an anomaly in the suburban calm. The sky above Karakura was a beautiful powder blue, the sun lazily hanging in the sky. He relished the stillness, the tension before the storm. With a sneer, he stepped up to the Kurosaki Clinic, his icy blue eyes narrowing as he caught sight of his target.Ichigo Kurosaki stood in front of his home, the afternoon breeze ruffling his orange hair. He had sensed the approaching reiatsu, its familiar malevolence sending a chill down his spine. His body tensed, his eyes sharp with determination.
"Grimmjow," Ichigo called out, his voice steady despite the surge of adrenaline coursing through him."Yo, Kurosaki," Grimmjow replied with a grin that didn't reach his eyes. "Been a while. Thought I'd pay you a visit."Ichigo’s hand instinctively went to Zangetsu's hilt, his resolve hardening. "What do you want?"Grimmjow's grin widened, showing his sharp teeth. "You. A fight. What else?" Ichigo watched as Grimmjow stepped forward, his reiatsu flaring, the pressure like a vice around Ichigo's chest."I hope you haven't gone soft on me, Shinigami."Ichigo drew Zangetsu in one fluid motion, the blade gleaming in the light. "You’ll find out soon enough," he said, his voice a low growl.Without another word, Grimmjow lunged, the ground cracking beneath his feet. Ichigo met his charge head-on, their blades clashing with a resounding clang that echoed through the empty street. Sparks flew as Zangetsu met Pantera, the force of the impact sending shockwaves through the air.
Grimmjow laughed, a wild, manic sound. "That's more like it!" He pushed against Ichigo, their faces inches apart, eyes locked in a deadly dance. "Let's see how strong you really are, Kurosaki!"Ichigo gritted his teeth, pushing back with all his might. "Bring it on, Grimmjow!"With a roar, they sprang apart, only to collide again with renewed ferocity. Grimmjow's strikes were swift and brutal, each one a test of Ichigo's resolve. Ichigo countered with equal intensity, his movements a blend of speed and precision.
As they fought, the air around them seemed to crackle with energy, the sheer power of their clash warping the space around them. Each strike, each block, was a symphony of violence, a testament to their unyielding wills. The battle raged on, neither giving an inch, both determined to emerge victorious.
In the midst of the chaos, Grimmjow found himself smiling. Despite the danger, despite the pain, there was a thrill in the fight, a sense of purpose that burned brighter with each passing moment. This was where he belonged, facing his enemies head-on, fighting for power, and strength.
And as long as he had that, he would never back down.

For a moment, Ichigo lost track of time. But not in the typical sense of the phrase. He quite literally forgot where and when he was. Memories flooded back to him, memories of the first time he fought Grimmjow. For a moment he was fifteen again, facing down the unbridled chaos and fury that was the Sexta Espada. Ichigo vividly remembered how that fight went.
He got his ass handed to him.
Ichigo blinked and shook his head, dismissing the thoughts bubbling around in his brain. No. This would not be like the first time. He was stronger now. Much stronger and much older. He had beaten Grimmjow the second time they fought. He could do it again. He didn't care if Grimmjow was stronger now too. He would not lose to him a second time.
Ichigo kicked off the air and soared towards the blue haired Espada, Zangetsu poised behind him. Grimmjow moved to block with his bare hands, so Ichigo faked out the swing and sliced from below, catching him across the chest and between his arms. The force of his blow sent the Espada careening back into a nearby building, making a crater in the center of the concrete wall. Ichigo followed him with a flash of shunpo, appearing above him. He let himself fall heel first, connecting with the man's chest as he was dragged down the side of the building and into the street below. When he raised Zangetsu above him to impale Grimmjow, the Espada was gone in a blink of an eye, Ichigo's foot resting in the gouge in the earth where Grimmjow had been.
Ichigo spun and connected swords with him, pushing back against the force of Grimmjow's swing. He bared his teeth in the Espada's face. "Haven't you gotten tired of this, Grimmjow?! How many times is this now? Three? Four? Eventually you have to realize that you're never going to beat me again! This is pointless!"

Grimmjow's laughter rang out, a chilling sound that echoed through the empty street. His eyes blazed with a mix of fury and excitement as he pushed back against Ichigo’s blade, the clash of their swords sending shockwaves through the air.
"Pointless?" Grimmjow spat, his voice dripping with venom. "You think this is pointless, Kurosaki? This is what I live for!"
With a surge of power, Grimmjow twisted his body, breaking free from Ichigo’s grip. He disappeared in a blur of motion, reappearing behind Ichigo with a vicious smirk. "Don't think you've got me figured out, Shinigami. I’ve been waiting for this!"
Grimmjow's claws gleamed as he lashed out, his movements a blur of speed and precision. Ichigo barely had time to react, twisting to block with Zangetsu, but Grimmjow's relentless assault was overwhelming. Each strike was filled with raw power, pushing Ichigo back step by step.
Ichigo gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with determination. He wasn’t about to let Grimmjow gain the upper hand. With a burst of reiatsu, he countered, swinging Zangetsu with all his might. But Grimmjow was ready. With a wicked grin, he caught Ichigo's blade with his bare hand, the impact reverberating through his arm.
"Too slow!" Grimmjow snarled, tightening his grip on Zangetsu. With a swift motion, he pulled Ichigo off balance, driving his knee into Ichigo’s stomach with bone-crushing force. Ichigo gasped, the wind knocked out of him, but he refused to go down. He swung his blade upward, aiming for Grimmjow's face, but the Espada was already moving.
Grimmjow leaped into the air, his form a blur as he somersaulted over Ichigo. He landed behind him and, without missing a beat, lashed out with a powerful roundhouse kick. The blow connected with Ichigo’s side, sending him skidding across the pavement.
Ichigo coughed, blood flecking his lips as he struggled to his feet. "Dammit," he muttered, wiping the blood from his mouth. He raised his head, meeting Grimmjow’s eyes with a fierce glare. "I won't let you win."
Grimmjow laughed again, the sound filled with a manic glee. "Win or lose, it doesn't matter, Kurosaki. All that matters is the fight. The thrill of battle!"
With a roar, Grimmjow charged, his reiatsu flaring to life around him.
Ichigo braced himself, his grip on Zangetsu tightening. This was it. He had to give it everything he had.
Their blades clashed once more, the force of their blows shaking the very ground beneath them. Grimmjow's attacks were wild and unpredictable, a whirlwind of destruction. But Ichigo matched him, his movements precise and calculated, driven by the need to protect everything he held dear.
As the battle raged on, it was clear that neither of them would back down. In that moment, time seemed to stand still, the world reduced to the clash of their swords and the fire in their eyes.

Contrary to Grimmjow and to what Kenpachi and so many others he had fought had tried to convince him of, fighting was only a way of life for Ichigo because it was his primary means of protecting his loved ones. Fighting was neither fun nor enjoyable for him. He supposed that's what separated him from the Espada in front of him. Grimmjow sought out strength in order to keep fighting for the sake of fighting. Ichigo sought out strength to protect. And for that reason, Ichigo would never lose to Grimmjow or any Espada, ayakashi, or even Soul Reaper ever again. Because in this world he had fallen into ass backwards, losing a fight often meant death. If not for oneself, then certainly for whomever that person held dear.
Ichigo swung Zangetsu with fury and determination, laser focused on Grimmjow, refusing to let him get the better of him in this battle. His history of fighting the Sexta Espada unlocked muscle memory he wasn't even aware he had. It was like getting back on a bike after years of not riding one. Of course, the same was true for the other. Grimmjow matched him blow for blow. The thought that if Ichigo had learned Kido a little sooner that this fight might not be so equal crossed his mind. But there was no use in dwelling on that now.
Ichigo pushed Grimmjow back with his sword and leapt back, putting some distance between them but not enough for Grimmjow to react quickly. He raised Zangetsu and without hesitation swung it sideways through the air. "Getsuga Tensho!" The wave of black and red energy screamed towards Grimmjow, crossing the short distance between them in barely a second.
