Shunsui sighed and looked out from under his hat. “Somehow I think you have news to match our own, old friend.” As Kisuke sat down, he offered him a saucer of sake. “Shall we all wish that wars ended quietly?”
Kisuke lowered his hat over his eyes with his own hat as he held the given saucer. “Don’t get too far into the cups, friend. I need your brain.”

Still weary from the sight of Hinamori-chan that pale and sick, Juushiro looked over at Kisuke to listen to him. But then started, his heart clenching as he recalled -
“Kisuke, Yumiko, is she-" His vision wavered before him.

Keen eyes alert, Shunsui grabbed his shoulder to steady him as his best friend swayed. He hated the aftermath of these kinds of large-scale disasters, especially with the fact that Juushiro could never distance himself from anything. He was too kind and involved to do that. It was one of his greatest strengths and weaknesses.
He released an inward sigh as Kisuke shook his head at them. “Yumiko is safe with Kita. She was grabbed but managed to escape. I don’t know why. There’s some information she brought back that we need to discuss.”
Kisuke waited until Shunsui got Juushiro to take a sip of tea to calm down.
The commander nodded at him to continue.

"With Yumiko's return she informed us that Tervaden has Kyoka Suigetsu on display over the throne. She swears Aizen's reiatsu was still present in the palace." He took a sip of the sake adjusting his hat again.
The look on at the two faces in front of him as they were unreadable at this point. Though Kyoraku's was twisting into what Kisuke would recognize as a rage. "Don't flip out yet, old friend. We have to remember Tervaden's power. I am thinking it might be a ploy to keep the Espada under his control, but it was also something I did not want to overlook in this case. We have learned that anything is possible with that Bastard Aizen."

It was actually the white-haired captain who spoke first. “If Vale Tervaden is leading Las Noches, we should be cautious. His power was different when we fought in the last battle,” Juushiro murmured, eyes slightly narrowed. “He had more control over his powers than when he attacked the Fourth Division, and there was a new precision to his sword.”

“There’s also the question of how he escaped,” Shunsui muttered under his own hat.
He clenched his free hand. "If Lieutenant Hinamori's state was a message from him, I am not likely to forget him," he growled.
Kisuke raised an eyebrow, asking for details. The commander sighed. "You must have missed the message from Lieutenant Namori. Hinamori was returned to us in the most despicable way." He paused, letting his friend brace himself again. "Naked, limbs bound, and tied to the top of the first division roof. She's feverish and unconscious."

Juushiro sighed. "She's been raped, badly, and I suspect beaten, before or after."
He set his cup of tea down, eyes hardening again. "Whether that was a message from Aizen to be left after the attack or this was something orchestrated by Tervaden makes no difference. Las Noches stands. And the enemies may think Aizen is coming back."

Shunsui sighed again, rubbing the back of his neck. "I agree, Kisuke. The sword is a worrying factor in this. But wouldn't Sumi know if Ichimaru had failed in his destiny she'd written out for him? She did give him the powers."

Kisuke shook his head. "Sumi can not see or predict the future. She only knows what happens when and if it happens. From what she told me Gin's attack killed Aizen Sousuke. Now what they have done to him since the Espada Koga swept him away I have not heard from Sumi. She has been rather quiet since Gin's attack on Aizen, and him going into a coma."
He took another sip of his sake lowering his saucer. "I guess it goes to prove even a God has their limits."

“The question now is what we do about it,” Juushiro murmured. He shook his head. “I refuse to hide the girls again or shake the hope of freedom that has taken the corps. It remains even with the dark stain left behind by the espadas’ message. However, sending someone to Las Noches could only lead them to a trap."
Shunsui stroked his chin. "Here I had hoped undercover work was done for a short while." He sipped his sake. "It creates the most paperwork."
Juushiro chuckled but then became serious again. "Is an undercover agent even possible in this situation? Their status is fractured. That would leave less room for sneaking someone in. And Tervaden was a captain. He might recognize anyone we send."

Kisuke shook his head, sitting his empty saucer beside himself. "I have ways to cover someone's identity completely, but they are still being tested. They are too fail-safe to just let them go without proper testing. I would hate to have irreversible side effects on the person using the disguise."
He sighed pulling his hat down over his eyes. "I hate to say this, but the only one that can get in there undetected is Kita with Sumi's help. They will be the only ones that could keep us updated on what's going on in there."
Kyoraku and Juushiro looked to Kisuke shocked. "You would send her back there?!" Kyoraku exclaimed.
"Kisuke! You can't do that! Think of the baby!" Juushiro added.
Kisuke looked at them both. "I am not sending her back to stay. Just sneak her in there once a month to get the skinny on what's going on. Even if she is caught. No one there has the power to stop Sumi."

Juushiro looked shocked, hands clenched at his side. To the commander, it was obvious that his friend was willing to fight tooth and claw to make sure that Kita did not go to Las Noches again. Wait? Tooth and claw….? Shunsui chuckled, covering his eyes. “We’re being too literal. There is one solution no one will expect.”
Kisuke and Juushiro looked to him with shock on their features. Shunsui laughed quietly and lifted his saucer. “Kisuke, you have the perfect spy warming your bed.” Kisuke blinked, looking shocked, probably from not thinking about it. Shunsui chuckled again and held up his sake bottle. “I’ll send Juushiro to the shop to keep your little one safe and happy and she can prance around Las Noches unseen.”

Kisuke grinned adjusting his hat to look at Kyoraku better. "The only problem there--" Kisuke chuckled. "How many cats have you ever seen in Las Noches, old friend? Don't you think if they spot her it's as good as over for my little pussy?"
Kyoraku could not help but laugh at Kisuke's nonchalant wording and tone of voice.
"What? Are you going to tell me I am wrong?" Kisuke questioned him.

"She doesn't have to be a puss to survive," Shunsui chuckled, still amused at his friend's wording. "If she can hide in the shadows as well as she could before," he winked, "your pussy will be quite safe and warm."

Juushiro sputtered into his tea, blushing. Sipping slower, he took a deep breath, calming down before adding. "Yoruichi was after Tervaden's time, too. He wouldn't have any reason to look for something as small as a cat in the shadows." He looked to Kisuke. "It has to be safer than sending Kita in there. Besides," he paused, "she has done her part. We should take over the clean up, not her."
