Yumiko sighed, flopping on the bed and trying to compose herself. This wasn't like her. Closing her eyes and falling into a meditative state, she started braiding her hair. It was something she knew how to do, but she couldn't recall who had taught her. A song rippled up from Mizue no Kagami and she started humming. Her unease and anger started falling away.
Maybe if she didn't think about it...
A louder knock startled her and she dropped her comb.
She blushed when she realized who was knocking and walked quickly to the door, opening it. "I'm sorry, Lord Aizen. I didn't hear you," she admitted quietly.

Aizen smiled and cupped her cheek. "All is well, Hime." He looked around the room. Things seemed to be in order she so she must not have been too distraught. He looked back at her and smirked.
"You need to get out." He stepped in the room and closed the door behind him. He waved his hand at her dismissing her from in front of her. "Go change. Maybe one of those lovely kimono's you have. We can go to the garden. Just you and I. What do you say?"

She smiled brilliantly. "I have no reason to refuse," she replied. She turned around, then turned back to him, kissing him softly, before turning back around, and gathering some items from the chest at the foot of her bed. Maybe she had been wrong to worry. Picking up her comb from where it had fallen, she disappeared into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
She reappeared fifteen minutes later in a crimson kimono embroidered in falling maple leaves and a dark blue obi with a pattern of rippling water. She slipped a pin into her hair to hold her French braid. "I'm sorry I left you waiting."

Aizen smiled, caressing her cheek with the back of his fingers. "For a beauty as rare as you the wait is never too long." He turned offering his arm as she linked hers with his. The two then exited the room heading toward the garden for an enjoyable walk along the paths. Moved

"A New Key for the Lock" (final):
Yumiko didn't know how she made it to her rooms without collapsing. Shadows kept flashing before her eyes and echoes of something like voices. Twice, she considered turning around and returning to Kita's rooms, but she rejected the idea almost instantly. She had to get away. Something was wrong. She breathed out slowly as the headache seemed to fade when she reached the corridor to her room.
She considered seeking out Aizen but decided not to. She couldn't go to him for everything and not until she had considered...
Yumiko sighed and opened her door, closing it behind her.
"And I hope I am in this case, but from the knowledge I have on Aizen... He is using you as much as he is using me. He is just doing it in different ways..."
Yumiko bit her lip. It can't be. It just can't.
She looked out towards her balcony - and cried out as a particularly long spike of pain tore through her head.
Stop it, she moaned to herself. Just stop.
Yumiko fell on her bed, face-first, and started crying. She didn't know who to believe, her new friend or the dearest person to her heart, and that scared her the most.
Eventually she fell asleep.

"Facing Forward":
Yumiko sighed, looking up from her book of kido, as a huge wave of reiatsu rose up from the depths of the palace. She closed her eyes, resisting the urge to 'look' with Mizue no Kagami. She may have some of her memories back, but that didn't mean she wanted to seek out the devils that laid in wait. She turned back to her text. Not until there was no choice. The violet in her eyes sharpened as she narrowed her eyes and forced the images from her latest dream away. Her hand clasped around her zanpakuto's hilt as she pushed her chair back, rising to her feet. She wandered over to her balcony, looking out at the moon. Tears pricked her eyes, but she shook them away. She tightened her grip on her zanpakuto. "Be careful," her mentor, Ukitake, had said.
She would. "Use the game," the snake had told her.
"Soukatsui," she whispered, drawing her blade. Mizue glowed and a torrent of pale flame soared from the blade. She closed her eyes, wrapping the energy around her in her mind, then opened them. "Flow," she stated. The blaze flickered then blasted forth, licking her cheek, sparking at her arms, and burning her skirt, before the swirling whirlwind circled around her without leaving marks on her. Her gloves warmed. Closing her eyes, she canceled her power. It faded. As her hair fell around her, set loose from her braid, Yumiko breathed out, calm again. Her hands tightened around her zanpakuto. "As long as I have the few good memories and Mizue, I will be alright. I will." If only sleep would come easier to her.
The waves of energy below her faded. ~ END RP ~ "Truth, Fact, and Dismay":

"Time Moves Forward"(continued):
Yumiko let the hot water of the shower wash over any marks leftover from the evening before. Though she knew they wouldn't disappear as easily at that, the ritual cleaning gave her some calm. It was something her lover didn't control. Three weeks ago, Aizen had caught her visiting with Orihime and had forbidden her to visit either her or Kita, unless otherwise told to. Then, he had ordered her to heal Kita from one of his cruel punishments. When she had finished, she had intended to leave, but with one gentle touch, her resistance had wavered. She given herself over to him again, and then he had left her, body still shivering from their mutual search for pleasure, mind still dazed over her surrender. Yumiko turned off the water. Over the past few weeks, Aizen had continually searched her out, and over time, she found herself resisting him less and less, even welcoming him into her arms. As the queen should. She pulled a long towel around herself and exited, letting her hair drip dry. Her acceptance was changing her, and she wasn't sure she could stop it, not unless he finally broke her heart completely. Which he didn't do. She pulled the sheets from her bed, tossing them in a corner, and set the bed with new ones. She didn't throw away the roses left behind on her table, next to the book of healing he had given her. Yumiko was growing detached, burying her emotions deeper and deeper inside herself. It was like before, when she was locked away in darkness but at the same time, not the same. Sighing, she let the towel fall from her and pulled out her training outfit, including the red sash. Unlike when she was sealed, her detachment was not holding her back from her studies. It was having the opposite effect. Her attacks and defenses were becoming more precise, more controlled, and more powerful, as if her feelings of rebellion were being transferred to her powers. A tear slid down her cheek. Or when she was alone. She brushed it away. She needed to get away from him but she worried about even one night with most of the male espada. And Vale. Vale was responsible for hurting Orihime. At the same time, would she change even more if she did manage to get away from him for one night? Yumiko shook her head then closed her eyes. She hoped Orihime was faring better than she was. "Please be alright, Orihime." Fade

"Small Visit":A few days had passed since the incident in the desert. Yumiko had stayed in the moon tower, healing herself and recovering her lost energy. The match with Vale and then the skirmish with the espada had drained her to the point of exhaustion, and she could still believe the thin illusion of safety over her rooms. Yumiko slid the sheathe over her zanpaktuo, canceling Mizue no Kagami's sight. The match had increased her range with that power, and from her rooms, she could see through all of the fifth tower and most of the fourth tower. Vale and Orihime's energies had kept colliding over the days, as if Orihime was back to fighting for herself. Aizen's well of power, by contrast, had been quiet, still. She pushed a lock of hair behind her ear. Part of herself still worried about repercussions from that battle, and when they didn't come, her mind returned to her past lover's forceful kiss and his words. "It's far too late for you."
Yumiko shook her head. That wasn't the truth. It was just another lie to control her. She could escape.... She would. When it wouldn't come back on the others, she would. Hands fisting into her sheets, she stood up. She pulled off her training outfit and reached into the chest at the foot of her bed. She'd enjoyed defeating Vale because of what he had done to Orihime. Nothing more. She pulled out a green and blue kimono with a silver obi and paused. It wasn't too late. She wasn't past the point of no return. Eyes narrowed with determination, she gathered her materials and went to the bathroom. She wanted to visit Orihime. And no one was going to stop her. Least of all Vale Tervaden. Moved

"Pushing Limits Continued":Vale appeared in front of the door of Yumiko's room. He raised his hand to knock but didn't. He let his hand drop down to the doorknob. As he went to turn the doorknob, when the door opened. Yumiko stood in the doorway, her face flush and eyes red from crying. "Hello Yumiko." he bowed slightly. "May I come in?"

Yumiko hesitated then moved aside to let him in. As Vale walked into the room, she retreated to the bathroom to clean up. She was exhausted from crying and fighting the truth of her distress. Letting go of Aizen wasn't going to be easy even if she knew his actual nature. He had offered her freedom not only from her dark captivity but also from her difficult noble heritage. He had pulled her from the shell she had wrapped around herself in a completely different way than the comfort and support from her teacher Ukitake. And some of that remained even now. Splashing her face and with lukewarm water and tying her hair up out of her face, she returned to her room.
Vale was flipping through her advanced book of healing. Also from Aizen.
She sat on her bed, folding her arms before her. "I thought you were going to send Orihime," she murmured.

Vale continued to flip through Yumiko's book. "I asked her to do something for me. She will be by to visit you later." He closed the book and turned his focus to Yumiko. "Is my being here a problem?" He leaned against the wall and folded his arms over his chest. Yumiko shook her head. "Listen, I'm not here to start any trouble with you. And, my being here won't put you in anymore trouble than you already are. I just want to talk. Is that ok?" He looked around her room then back to her. "Your face reeks of worry and fear. Stop it." he said rather harshly.

Yumiko winced visibly as his words and tone blended with another memory about her family.
"Stop it!" Yumiko cried out as the slap to her hand caused the calligraphy brush to fall from her hand. "It is not proper for a lady to hum, and this is not the place to sing. Here, emotions flow from the brush to the page. There are no distractions."
"But if I am enjoying it, I-"
"Emotions on the face is a disgrace to the art and your stature."
Yumiko's shoulders stiffened and she closed her eyes for a few moments, opening them and looking back at him. "I don't fear you," she said, tone neutral. "I worry for Kita. I know she hasn't come back and Aizen...." she lowered her head to hide her eyes, "has hurt her many times." Her hands clenched in her lap and she looked up, face clear again. "What did you want to talk about?"

"I don't care if you don't fear me, Yumi." he replied. "And, I wouldn't worry for Kita. For as angry as Aizen is, she is pregnant with his child. There is only so much he will do to her." He walked over and stood in front of Yumiko. He knelt down in front of her and placed his hand in hers before thumping to the floor. "Nothing really. I hate dropping the end of conversations." He leaned forward and nudged her leg. "Speak."

Yumiko looked down at him, a flicker of confusion moving through her darkened blue violet eyes and then took a breath. "What was your life like before you came to Aizen? And why did you change from the first time I met you to raping Orihime?" she asked, voice steady. "Or was that your true nature and you were waiting to show it?"

Vale laughed. "Let's start with my past, then. I was the Captain of the Seventh Division..." Vale stop speaking as his eyes widened. "Thank you, love." Yumiko looked to him in confusion. "I didn't do anything." she said. "And, stop calling me love." "I wasn't talking to you, dear." Vale stood to his feet and drew Chinmoku. "Show her to me." Chinmoku shattered into its release and took the form of Kita. Vale narrowed his eyes as he saw what she did. Karakura Town. - END RP - "First Born":
