Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: Deep RenewalEpisode 332 "Dusting Off the Cobwebs": Hisagi slid open the doors to the Seireitei Communication's room as the smell of ink and old papers wafted out around him. A wide smile crossed his lips as old memories washed over him. It had been a long time, far too long for the Seireitei Communication to be on hiatus, but it had been since after the betrayal from three of their most trusted Captains. But now it was time to bring it back to life. It had been way too long since it laid dormant.
He walked into the room flipping on the lights, then stepped forward, the room illuminated causing Hisagi to shake his head. It was dirty, empty, and silent, stepping over to the front counter Hisagi dragged his fingertips across the counter. The dust was thick and before they could do anything in there the place had to be cleaned up. Because other than dust, there was the last issue they were in process of printing that never made it into publication. Papers and books were scattered everywhere. It was indeed going to take some time to get the mess cleaned up, but it was time he was willing to sacrifice to get the Seireitei Communication up and running again.
Walking around the room he picked up a few papers and read a couple of them, some brought smiles, a few even a chuckle, then he found the one. The one that was telling the story about the loss of their beloved Captain Sousuke Aizen. He growled and crushed the paper in his hands, an anger he had been feeling far too much as of late welled up inside of him. He tossed it into the trash. He wen to move on when he heard a voice call out to him from the front of the office.

Susumu Hattori and his partner Fuu Ayumu, the Fourth and Third seats of Division Nine respectively, stepped into the Seireitei Communication office where their lieutenant was. They both had gotten a summons from him to meet him in the office. Both of them had dropped what they were doing to rush over to their old place of operations in the barracks. They all had spent many sleepless nights slaving over articles and layouts and test prints to finish each month's issue of the main source of news in the Soul Society. Both of them lived and breathed the publication process over and over each month and without it they had felt hollow.
"Lieutenant Hisagi, sir!" Susumu bowed to him when they rushed into the office. A huge grin was plastered over his face. "Fourth Seat Hattori and Third Seat Ayumu reporting as requested!"

Fuu bowed with Susumu, trying hard to contain her excitement. But also trying not to show disappointment. He called them there for one of two reasons. For them to gather their personal belongings so the room can be used for other matters, or the Seireitei Communication was going back into publishing.
"Alot of fun things have taken place here." Fuu giggled softly.

With see the third and fourth seat of the division and top writers for the paper, Hisagi's anger curved. "Hello, Fuu, Susumu. I hope I'm not keeping you away from anything pressing this evening."
Susumu shook his head as did Fuu as they walked further into the room.
"Why did you call us here?" Fuu questioned.
"Does the Captain want this room cleaned out?" Susumu asked.
"No, no nothing like that. " Hisagi smiled warmly as a joyous chuckle escaped him. "The Seireitei Communication is back in business!"

"YESSS!" Fuu exclaimed with a fist pump and a high five with Susumu and Hisagi. "So what is our first order of business, Boss?"
"First thing," Hisagi's hands went to his hips as he looked around the room, "I want everything cleaned out of this room." He looked back at Susumu and Fuu. "I don't want a single scrap of paper left behind. I want it all gone. We are starting off fresh."
"Like from the very first time we opened the doors?" Fuu questioned.
"That's exactly what I mean." Hisagi replied.
Fuu looked to Susumu with a wide smile. "We are going to need a lot of boxes."

Susumu coughed and waved his hand through the air, pushing dust away from his face. "And a lot of cleaning supplies." He looked to their lieutenant. "Cleaning and dusting everything is going to take us all day at the least."
"Then we had better get started," Hisagi crossed his arms with a smile. "Unless we want to print with dusty printing presses."
"No sir!" Susumu shook his head, clenching his fist. "We're going to make the return of the Seireitei Communication the best run yet!"

Fuu nodded sternly a wide smile across her lips. "I'll help you get the supplies, Susumu." She looked to Hisagi as he only nodded his head.
"Wait up Susumu," she called out to him as he was leaving the room. "You want to get the boxes and I can pick up the cleaning supplies?"
"Sounds good to me," Susumu nodded as they walked out into the hallway, heading off to get what they each needed.
It was not long and Fuu returned to the mess they were calling Seireitei Communication. When she entered the room she saw Hisagi and Susumu shoving papers into boxes. All old rough drafts of layouts and articles they did not use in the paper, illustrations, dummy newspapers, and inserts. It seemed the only thing they were saved were the past News Papers that had already been circulated. Those like the all the others will be stuck in the archives.
"You two have been busy." Fuu giggled.

Hisagi looked her way, "well while you two were out getting supplies I decided to clear off desks and empty filing cabinets. Found a lot of nothing, so in the trash with it." He looked down into a drawer he opened and started dragging more paperwork out.
"These boxes are going to be lifesavers, and thankfully they can be reused." He chuckled lightly as he looked up once more. "If you want Fuu, you can start cleaning at the front counter and work your way back. Susumu and I will deal with the papers and files and move desks around to accommodate the cleaning."

Fuu nodded and headed to the front to start whipping up the area into shape. Meanwhile Susumu continued clearing out all the old paper junk with Hisagi before they began moving the desks all to the sides of the room to make it easier to clean. By the time Fuu finished with the front counter, Hisagi and Susumu had the boxes of old paper junk stacked at the door, ready to be thrown out. The boxes filled with old, circulated issues were stacked in the back of the room near Hisagi's office, ready to be archived.
"Alright. Time to clear the air. Literally," Susumu chuckled.

Hisagi chuckled combing his fingers through his hair. "Yeah, let's do that." He grabbed a chair, took a seat, and gestured for them to do the same. "Fuu, you have a notepad, right?"
"Always," Fuu commented with a wide grin. "I am a Journalist after all."
Hisagi chuckled, "grab it. I need you to take notes." Once everyone was seated around Hisagi continued. "I want to share some ideas with you two and if you have any new and improved ideas let me know."

Fuu sat with her tablet and pen in hand as she thought about a new things they could do with the paper this time around. "Well, are we going to go with the articles we did last time?"
"Articles?" Hisagi questioned. "Oh! You mean the articles that Ukitake and the others were writing."
Fuu's head nodded. "Because I was thinking that made we could make the paper a little smaller. Like not so much content."

Susumu nodded with a hand on his chin. "Yeah, it was a lot of content to produce, even in one month. There were novel chapters and short form articles and even Captain Hitsugaya's sculptures to wait on submissions for. All the officers who wrote novels usually pushed their deadlines till the last minute, and Captain Hitsugaya often ran into issues with melting since he carved all of his sculptures by hand. Not to mention the days when Commander Yamamoto used Ryujinjakka."
Hisagi chuckled, reminiscing on the old days when their commander was still alive. "Yeah, I remember. The poor captain had to start all over from scratch because the moment the old man used Ryujinjakka his ice would just sublimate into thin air. Some months he didn't even get a hand carving done and just put the column on haitus."
"Yeah, cause he was too stubborn to use Hyorinmaru to cheat and form it instantly," Susumu laughed. "He's persistent if nothing else. But in any case, I agree that cutting down on the amount of content in the issue and focusing on the most important news supplemented with a few reoccurring articles would be best. We can even have different columnists do their articles during different months that way the content changes up every month. No one has the pressure of meeting a monthly deadline."

"I like that idea. It's keeping it fresh," He looked at the two. "Let me tell you one of my ideas."
The two nodded and sat silently waiting to hear what he had to say.
"I would like to touch down on more going on around the Soul Society. Not just in the Seireitei but in the Rukongai as well. I was also thinking about doing something with the Ladies' Association. They do, or well they did, a lot of good things for the Soul Society."

"Oh I like that idea. Do a couple of articles a month, and I am sure the ladies will appreciate the the announcements for the Festivals, Gatherings and Fund Raisers they put together."
"Yeah, definitely! And Lieutenant Matsumoto will definitely--" Susumu caught himself, stopping mid-sentence. Suddenly the realization of all the people they had lost hit him. He scratched the back of his neck, his shoulders hunching over. "Oh... Also we... we should do an obituary section for this first issue. For all the people we've lost." He grimaced, hoping that his slip up didn't land him in hot water with their Lieutenant. Everyone knew how much he fancied the late Tenth Division Lieutenant. He hated that he ended up digging up bad memories.
"A remembrance page would be very nice for those we lost." Fuu sighed, "we lost so many in the take over." Her eyes narrowed as she looked to Hisagi. "There is one article I would very much like to write. With your permission of course."
"What article is that, Fuu?" Hisagi asked with a raised brow. With what they were just talking about just seconds ago, he was a little worried with what she was going to ask.
"I want to do a story on the Vessel." Fuu announced.

Susumu looked from Fuu to Hisagi, who was shaking his head silently. He shrugged, raising his hands. "I think it would be a good story to run. She destroyed our home. The people deserve to know why. And if she's not going to be punished for it, then we deserve to know why she's free to do as she pleases now that the peace has returned."
"I understand where the two of you are coming from on this, but you're poking a hornet's nest with that story. It doesn't matter if we print the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The story will get twisted and interpreted in the way the person wants to interpret it. This could cause rioting and demands on the Vessel's life." Hisagi shook his head again, "Are you ready to make an enemy of Urahara, Ichimaru, and the Substitute? Because that is what will happen if things turn ugly with that story."
"So are we just supposed to leave people in the dark? Let them come up with their own theories? Let people see she massacred us and is now just going free as if it never happened? If the Gotei isn't going to punish her, then people deserve to know why," Susumu shook his head. "And with or without that story, people are going to interpret things how they want and start rioting if she continues to be allowed in Soul Society as a welcome guest. I've already heard the things people say about her coming to help us after flattening Seireitei. They're calling her a hypocrite and a murderer. Some people are even coming up with conspiracy theories that she's actually here to finish off the people she missed the first time!"
