Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: Deep RenewalEpisode 347 "Three Yes' or No Go": Fuu was finishing up the last few details of her office, arranging chairs, making sure there were drinks and hot tea, and even snacks were ready for her three guests that would be arriving at any moment. After straitening some papers on her desk she stood up straight, hands on her hips, and looked around her office.
She nodded sharply with a wide smile. "It's done."
Just then, a knock rang out in the office, and Fuu suddenly became very nervous. Her eyes darted around the office, ensuring she had everything in place and ready for her guests. Smoothing down her uniform she stepped from around her desk.
"Come in," Fuu called out to her visitors. She smiled brightly for them as the door slid back. Urahara Kisuke was the first to enter, Ichimaru Gin followed close behind, as Kurosaki Ichigo walked in last.
"Gentlemen," Fuu bowed to the three of them. "Thank you so much for coming to speak with me," the three nodded as she gestured to the chairs in front of her desk. "Please, have a seat," turning she stepped up to a small table with drinks and snacks. "Would either of you like a drink, maybe a snack?"

Kisuke nodded at the young girl as he adjusted his hat. "Do you have some hot tea over there?"
"Oh yes," Fuu replied. "I always have tea ready."
Kisuke smiled warmly as he watched the young girl pour him a cup of hot tea. She turned and walked over to him handing him his drink.
"Thank you, Ayumu." Kisuke commented as Fuu turned her attention to the other two to see if they wanted anything.

Ichigo looked at the spread she had, trying to decide what he was in the mood for. But one look at the expectant and eager expression on the girl's face and suddenly he felt too in the spotlight to make a choice. He gave a nonchalant grin and shrugged. "Surprise me. I'll take whatever."
He looked back at her arrangement of refreshments, thinking to himself that she must have spent at least a fair amount of time preparing for such a simple meeting. He was surprised she had provided anything. Then again, he was sure her article hinged on all of them being in an agreeable mood. Food and drink was one way to accomplish that.

Fuu smiled kindly at Kurosaki with a slight nod, her attention turning to Ichimaru. "Can I get you anything, Ichimaru?"
He said nothing to her, only sat there with that creepy grin of his. It made her skin crawl. She knew his betrayal was a farce, but what he did to keep the farce in tack, really bugged her, and saddly she really didn't trust the man. No matter how much everyone said he had changed.
When he said nothing she turned to get Kurosaki his drink and snack. While she worked at that she spoke to the three men.
"I am truly am glad all three of you came. I was worried that I might only seen one of you."
She turned with a glass of lemonade and white cake. "I am not sure if Urahara told the two of you what I needed from you, but if he didn’t I will explain."

Ichigo shook his head as he took the cake and lemonade from Fuu, taking a seat at the table. Behind them, Ichimaru decided to remain standing, keeping his distance from them. "No, we were given minimal details. Just that you wished to speak with the three of us regarding a project."
He looked around the room. "But judging from the Division you're in, I'm sure you're looking to write an article. A big one."

Kisuke crossed his arms over his chest looking from Ichigo back to Fuu. "It's more than big. It could be life changing." Kisuke could feel Ichigo looking at him.
"The thing about it though, is it could go either way. It could backfire, making things worse or get the response the person so badly needs so their life will finally settle."
"And before she can write this article, she has to have the clerance from the three of us. Father, lover and best friend." His hand lifted to his hat as he adjusted it to look at the young girl better. "Isn't that right, Ayumu?"

Fuu's head bobbed, "yes, but I promise you I won't let it backfire. The people need to know the truth about the vessel. About what happened in Las Noches and with Aizen."
With the mention of Las Noches and Aizen the room lit up in anger from Ichimaru and Kurosaki. Fuu's eyes widened as she quickly got up from her chair and took a step back from the two men that slightly advanced on her.

"Now wait a minute," Ichigo glared at the girl. "Are you doing this to make Kita look bad or to redeem her in the eyes of the people of Soul Society? Or neither? What happens if they don't care what she has to say?"
Ichigo leaned over and place his hands on the table in front of him. "You're a Soul Reaper. You report the news. You have a duty to the people of Soul Society. I get it. But we have a duty to Kita. She's been through enough already, so there had better be a damn good reason for you to go digging up over a decade's worth of trauma. So if this is just going to be you cherry picking her brain for a 'scoop' then you can find your news elsewhere."

Gin chuckled at the substitute's vehement reaction. "Looks like we're almost in agreement, Kurosaki. I might have to stop calling you fruit names."
When the substitute growled at him, Gin turned his eyes on the petite reporter before them, his eyes glimmering with full extent of his sheathed power and menace. "What makes you think you deserve anything from her? Or that it will make a difference? The first thing after the war, she comes back to heal you all. And yet, they still cry for her head. The people are too dumb to do any thinking on their own. They just want blood for blood. So what makes you think your little article with some details will matter?" His smirk grew into something more wicked. "Because you're not getting the full story. They don't deserve that. Even if she wants to do that."

Fuu's head shook as she looked pointedly at the one they use to call Snake. Ichimaru Gin. She didn't break eye contact with him. She wanted him to know what she spoke was true and that she was not out to hurt the vessel.
"I don't deserve anything from her. Nor do the people, but she deserves better from us. The vessel deserves to be heard." She sighed shaking her head. "And I really don't know if it will make a difference or not, but the people know what kind of person Aizen is. The Gotei was not the only one that suffered his wrath. And I have heard the rumors that some of the villagers are spreading around, what they have done, and what they have said. However, not all the villagers feel that way. Some are grateful to her and realize that, yes, she did attack and do damage to our realm, but she harbored a Goddess and the damage she dealt the realm was nothing compared to what it could have been. They knew she held back and they knew that with that action she probably suffered punishment from Aizen when she returned to him."
"And I don't want to know the whole story. I'll take what she wants to give me. And I promise it will reflect her in the best of light. I will set the people on the right path. The path of truth about the vessel. The heartache she suffered and the pain she endured. All to keep us," her hand lifted and rest on her upper chest, "safe and alive. I am grateful for her sacrifice and she deserves that from everyone. Not just a few of us, and I will make sure that happens."
She bowed deeply to Ichimaru and the other two men "I promise you that."

As she spoke, Gin's aura slowly disappeared, and though his smile still remained sly, most of the edge behind it had faded. He didn't trust her completely, but he had to admit that she gave a good speech. Not many could lower their heads in front of him. Despite the possible tolerance that was slowly generating towards him, he understood and accepted that many would never trust him. And they were right to. His loyalties would always be skewed. It was who he was, after all his choices, and he had stopped hiding that in this war. Gin Ichimaru, former captain and traitor, stayed silent, keeping the snide commentary to himself, throughout the reporter's explanation, and even waited for her to rise again.
To be honest, he didn't really care about educating the masses or releasing their story. It was far too personal. It told too much about anyone involved. But then again, this wasn't for him. Kita and the kids didn't deserve to go down the same route as him. If Kita accepted it.
Gin lifted four fingers. "It's your lucky day, missy. I'll allow your interview with Kita with these conditions. First, you will interview her where she is comfortable, not here. Let her decide where to bare her soul. Second, it will not be a private exchange between you two. You're stepping on a giant landmine and I won't let her start this alone with a peeping stranger, even if she can use her mouth well. Third, if she clams up, change the subject. Do not press the matter with her or I'll throw you out. Finally, we get to see a copy of this article before you print it and make final edits."
He turned to Urahara and Kurosaki. "Anything you want to add, shopkeep, hero?"

Kisuke sat silent as the two talked, and Gin made his final demands. Kisuke nodded at each demand then looked up at Gin when he turned to him and Ichigo. "I agree, but I don't think you sitting in on this interview would be a good idea."
The snake's eyes hardened. "And why is that?" he demanded.
"For that reason right there," Kisuke pointed at Gin, referring to his attitude and temperament. "One wrong question and you would be all over this poor girl, and it wouldn't necessarily be wrong. It would just be wrong for you." Kisuke stood from his chair when Gin's eye hardened more. "Are you going to disagree with me? You know how you are, and how you are with Kita."
The snake did not like where this was going. "Why should that matter?"
"Just because you don't like the question doesn't mean it shouldn't be asked and brought to light," Kisuke stated, his attention turning to Fuu. "Unless you could give us a script you are going to follow for this interview."

"Well. I wasn't really going to follow a script for this interview. I was just going to start off with the two of us chatting and whatever she felt comfortable telling me she could." She looked at Gin who was giving her a doubtful look.
"Do you not think that will work?" Fuu asked him.
"Not with this," Gin muttered, a low growl in his voice as he looked away, but it didn't seem to be directed toward the reporter.
Ichigo rubbed the back of his head. "I think you're right about Ichimaru, but she's barely told us the truth. Will she talk without him there? She doesn't want us to know."
Gin made an ugly sound in the back of his throat but otherwise stayed silent.
Fuu looked between the two, Ichimaru and Kurosaki. "I can understand her not wanting to tell you some things." She looked to Ichimaru, "but you. Didn't the two of you experience everything together?"

Gin's lip curled, his aura rising dramatically, as he suddenly snapped. "And that makes a difference?" he sneered.
In the background, he heard Urahara say something, probably his name, but he didn’t acknowledge him, too incensed by her simple question.
“She was trained to survive! I was not there to counsel and heal her. That was not my job there! and she learned from the best. She learned to bleed and get back up. To be able to take it the next time it happened. Yes, I can get it out of her, but if we did speak about it, we had to admit that they had won.” He strode over and leaned over the desk, getting into Ayumu’s face. “We stayed silent because that was the difference between scars and wounds that never went away!”
He pushed both the substitute and the shopkeeper off him, his ire fading away into something else he hid away with that shove. His eyes narrowed as he focused on the shopkeeper. “I’ve done enough. Find me when you’re done. We can discuss your damn stipulation then.”
He didn’t wait for them to speak, just disappeared in a rush of shunpo that was too fast to see.
