“Well there’s no denying your obsession with that bauble up to now, which is why no one’s taken the opportunity to take your head,” the snake quipped. He turned around. “I will cease my attempt to remove her from this hideout because of this threat but both of you should know the difference between the ability to leave and a choice to leave. With the Hougyoku being placed inside her and Shosei's growing strength, you left no choice for her. Whether or not it’s for her own good, you have effectively made Kita a prisoner with only herself for company. That will not help her heal. At least give her company if you claim it's for her." He spun around again. "She just started to enjoy life and her family again, something she hasn't since you trapped us in Las Noches. I don't plan on forgiving you taking that away in a hurry."
Especially a certain shopkeeper who knew what he was up to when Kita was distracted with their sons.
"There will be many questions before I consider that. After this is over."

"She worries for you, Gin. I gave her my word—a promise if you will—that I would bring you back to her. Now, tell me," Aizen's voice took on a silken edge, "what message should I deliver in your stead, regarding your choice to remain behind?"
Gin hesitated. "Tell her where I'm going, that I have too much to live for to do something foolish, and ... to speak to Seto often. I will return to our family when she does."
"And what of Sojiro?" Aizen's voice was smooth, almost gentle, yet it carried the weight of inevitability. "Will you turn your back on your firstborn in the moment he needs you most, as he stands on the precipice of his own destiny?"
Aizen's eyes gleamed with a knowing intensity as he continued, his tone laced with subtle provocation. "Will you, Gin, forsake your son at this pivotal juncture? Or shall I return with yet another promise, this one to a child who will come to know his father as the man who had no time to train him with his zanpakuto?"
Aizen let the question linger, a heavy silence filling the space between them, daring Gin to make his choice.

Aizen's pointed question dug into Gin's psyche as nearly nothing else could. His cooling rage spiraled, but his focus remained as he spun around once more.
“As if you have a right to question me about that,” Gin hissed, taking a few steps towards his former master. He stopped before reaching him, something nameless flickering in his eyes. “I gave my son a task while I am gone and I will check on him often. There’s no time difference between the realms now, and if I can dismantle Soul Society from the shadows for you, I can manage my own agenda and training him now. Now go away and do your job.”

Aizen regarded Gin with a calm, unflinching gaze, the faintest hint of a smile playing at the corners of his lips. “As if I have a right, you say?” he mused, the words almost a whisper, yet they carried the weight of something far more profound. “Perhaps not. But rights, as you know well, Gin, are a matter of perspective—of power.”
He took a deliberate step closer, his presence as imposing as ever, yet there was no malice in his demeanor. Aizen’s gaze flicked briefly to the horizon, as if contemplating something beyond their current conversation. “Your path is your own, and I will not stand in your way. But know this—every choice you make, every action you take, ripples through the lives of those you care about. Sojiro, Kita... they walk in your shadow. Ensure that shadow does not consume them.”
He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in before adding with a hint of finality, “I will deliver your message, Gin. But remember, I am not the only one watching.”
With that, Aizen turned, his figure fading into the distance, leaving Gin to ponder the choices that lay ahead.

For a long time, Gin stayed silent as his former master left him with his words, his warning -- and blessing? The advice resonated in a way that his protege had almost forgotten. Leaving behind its mark.
He sneered where the former's figure had been.
“As if I needed to hear his voice alongside the shopkeeper’s already in my head.” He turned around, gazing again at the yawning hole of of Dangai, considering his path. Hesitating. The fox grinned. “Next time, I’m going to punch him — several times— before I turn around and tear apart a certain hat.”
He pulled out the ring he’d been wearing around his neck, hoping it would finally lead him to the right spot. “Sorry, dearie. If I go to your side, I’ll stay there, and I refuse to play the part they’ve put me in. I’m doing this my way for the way forward.” He strode into the darkness. "It's the only way I'll walk free of both of them and let you know the answers you seek."
The gate closed behind him.- END RP - "Ghost of Midnight"
