Endo sat there and let Kita cry out all her frustration and anger. The woman had truly faced the next closest thing to Hell and survived, and she did it all for her family, friends, and the lives of the people in the human realm and the souls in Seireitei. She was nothing like the rumors that were spread around. She was kind, caring, strong, resilient, and above all brave. He would be the first to admit that he would not last a week in Las Noches under Sousuke Aizen’s thumb, and here this girl, this woman lasted 16 years so to keep the ones she loved and people she barely knew, alive and well. And though he did not want to admit it to himself or aloud, Gin Ichimaru was the rock that got her through it all.
After a few minutes of silence in the room Endo spoke to Kita. “You have never apologized to Captain Ashimitsu. Have you?”
Kita could only shake her head as she dried her tears.
“Why have you not apologized? Do you feel as if there is no need? That he understands why you did this?” Endo prodded.
“No, and definitely not. Tsukiro was in a bad place. He was dealing with the death--"
“Of his mother and little brother. I know. I was seeing Captain Ashimitsu after what took place between the two of you. I helped him sort things out and put things in perspective.” Endo explained.
Kita sighed lowering her head. “Thank you, for helping Tsukiro.” She looked up at the doctor. “Don’t think I did not care for or care about Tsukiro. I loved Tsukiro very much. I still do. He was a very good friend before we started dating and I am glad to say we are still friends.” She sighed, “Just a little uncomfortable around one another at the moment. In time that will change. We will talk and put all this behind us. I know we will.”
“I think that is a bridge you need to cross now. Closing that wound after 16 years is only going to benefit both of you.”
