Yumiko laughed again and hugged Kenji tightly. "I don't know, Kenji. Why don't you ask him?" she whispered in his ear.
Kenji looked to Juushiro. "Take-jii?" he asked, grabbing his sleeve.
Juushiro smiled widely and stroked Kenji's head. "I would be honored to see your bunny, if you want to share him."

Kenji smiled and ran off to retrieve his new pet. Walking slowly on his way back, he held the small box containing his bunny against his chest. He walked up to Juushiro and whispered to him. "His name is Barnaby, Take-jii."

Juushiro petted the bunny underneath his chin, watching as his pink nose twitched, taking in the smells around him, the dark eyes wide and curious. His smile grew. "He's wonderful, Kenji."

Seeing Kenji run past her going to his room then walking back out with Barnaby's box she smiled softly and followed out behind him. She stood in the doorway of the shop one hand resting to the door frame the other resting to her stomach. Her smile grew as she watched Kenji with the Captain and the bunny, Juushiro gently pet the bunny under the chin and tell Kenji what a wonderful bunny her was.
"Tessai almost has his new home built." Kita announced. She looked to Kenji as he lifted Barnaby from the box. "Have you cleaned out a spot for him in your room?"
Kita slowly waddled forward toward the group of four as the three humans of the group looked at the fuzzy one with floppy ears.

Yumiko came over and hugged Kita tightly. “How are you doing?” she asked, keeping one hand on her friend’s shoulder to help her steady herself.
Kita smiled in gratitude. “I’m doing better.” She giggled. “I think Soji felt bad for scaring me then. He’s been mostly quiet since then.” She put a hand on her belly, smile growing. “That’s kind of like his father.” She turned back to Yumiko. “What about you? Kisuke told me what happened.”
“Ironically enough,” Yumiko replied, “I feel better being near the source than back in Soul Society now.” She chuckled. “I think it’s because I missed you guys." Her smile grew. "Besides, you're the one who told me we needed each other to heal. I can handle the vestiges of the nightmares here."

Kita's eyes widened slightly and in a half joking tone replied. "Wish I could." She giggled softly and took Yumiko's hand in hers giving it a gentle squeeze as she looked at Yumiko and smiled softly. "I am glad they are a little more bearable for you here."
They stepped up to Kenji as Kita rested her hand to his shoulder. "Are we still going on that walk to the park, young man?"

Kenji yelped excitedly. "Park!" He began to hop in place, Barnaby still in his hands. "Bar-na-by~! We're goin' to the park! We're goin' to the park!"
"Sweetie," Kita began. "You can't take him to the park. He's too small. He'll get lost."
"But..." Kenji began to pout, as he stopped his bouncing and looked to Kita. "He won't get lost! I promise!" He eyes grew wide as Kita shook her head. "Ok." He turned and walked slowly toward his room. With Barnaby in the box, he walked past his room and into his parents bedroom. Gently setting the box to his parents bed, Kenji scurried over to his parent's closet and looked around. Finding a dark green and white newsboy hat, he scurried back over to the box. Carefully, he took Barnaby from his box and placed his on top of his head. Then, placed the hat over little Barnaby to keep him hidden.
He hurried from his parent's bedroom and back down the hall. "I ready to go!" he shouted, pretending his hat didn't wiggle as much as he did. "Take-jii, are you comin'?"

Juushiro chuckled as the hat continue to wiggle. “Of course I am. You’re inviting me, aren’t you?” Kenji nodded quickly, both hands over his hat. Juushiro chuckled again. “Just give me a moment to find a gigai, or you will be holding onto a ghost.
Hugging Kita again, Yumiko followed her teacher inside to thank Kisuke for the last time and change out of her kimono.
Juushiro reappeared, dressed in a grey suit, a black t-shirt over the open jacket. He offered Kenji his hand.
Kenji stared and then leapt forward. One hand staying on his hat. “Mom, Yumigo, are you comin’?” His eyes widened as he lost his hat and he ducked, hiding in front of Juushiro.
“No one can see,” he whispered, holding the tiny bunny in his lap.
Juushiro chuckled and knelt down. “Shall we keep your secret by hiding him in my jacket?” he whispered in turn. "Only we will know."

Kenji nodded, slowly lifting his hat to show Juushiro the bunny. "Please dun hurt him, Take-jii. I just want to show him the park." He pouted a bit as Juushiro took the small bunny from beneath his jacket and slid him into a pocket inside his jacket. "Take-jii...Don't lose him."

Juushiro smiled and set a hand on his head, a teasing light in his green eyes. "I assure you I will take care of him, and your mom will never know." Kenji smiled and stood, pulling him upwards with his small arms.
"Park now. Park now. Mom, Yumigo, you're slow!" He darted forwards.
Juushiro laughed and let the little man lead him towards their destination. The bunny burrowed deeper in his pocket and curled up.

Yumiko, dressed in a long white and floral skirt with a blue blouse, smiled as Kenji began to drag her teacher forwards. She turned to her friend. "Are you going to be okay with his crazy pace, Kita?" she asked.

Yoruichi walked up behind Kita and Yumiko chuckling lightly at Kenji as he tugged Juushiro forward toward the park. "Kenji. Stop pulling on Ukitake-san. We all don't have your energy and Nee-chan can't walk as fast as the rest of us right now." Yoruichi stepped up beside the girls as they slowly walked toward the street as Kita replied to Yumiko. "I will be fine." Kita smiled. "You don't have to keep my pace, Yumiko. You can walk with Kenji and Juushiro if you want."Yoruichi looked around Kita to Yumiko and grinned. "If you and Ukitake-san keep up with Kenji today, you both will sleep like babies tonight from being worn out. I promise you that." Moved |

"Mending a Tie":It was hours later when the gate opened again in the human realm. This time Tsukiro stepped out, a large basket in hand from the ladies of the Gotei. It was stuffed with many different things for Kita and Sojiro. Tsukiro never knew that a baby would need so much; he was still too tiny for most of it. Pulling the front of his jacket together as a cold breeze whipped around him Tsukiro stepped toward the front door of the shop. He had ditched his Gotei 13 uniform for human attire for this visit. He felt more fashionable in it anyway. Not that he was going anywhere other then Urahara Shop, but he wanted to fit in with the woman he had come to visit. Word had gotten to him that Sojiro was born and he wanted to pay them both a visit and see the little guy. He heard he was as cute as a button. That was not hard for him to believe. His mother was a knockout; too bad his father was a snake and lacked everything but being still in existence. Things would have been so much simpler if Gin had died or just disappeared from their lives. However, it seemed his life was not meant to be simple. Hence the reason he was coming by to visit instead of living here like before. Though, he still smiled warmly at the thought of finally being able to come by to see them both, his heart bursting with his over flowing love for the woman he was about to see and now her beautiful new son. Sliding the door open he made his way back to Kita’s room. He was sure that was where he would find her. Moved

"Just a Normal Day at the Shop":Sitting in his room at a small table, Vacanze worked diligently on finishing his project he started while ago. It had been a few weeks since Kisuke had sent Vacanze out on his errand, taking him away from the bustling business of the shop with Kita and the others. Not that is was not nice to get away from the noise of the little ones. Kenji with his training with his zanpakuto and Sojiro just growing up and being a child, learning how to walk and talk, made for a very busy and noisy atmosphere. Though the serenity of the cave he was exploring was rather dull, and dark. In a way, he was kind of glad he was a hollow. It made it a littler easier for him being cast into the darkness and solitude he endured for the few weeks he was gone, but he was far from bored while on his search for more of the Aeronite crystal. While in his search for the illusive crystal, Vacanze found another type of luminous gem. There were thousands of them growing from the walls and roof of the cave. All varied in size. He gathered as many as he could in a variety of sizes, using them to carve small flowers and beads out. When he finished them, he dropped them into a small pouch for later when he returned back to the shop. When he did return back to the shop, he had everything the Shopkeeper sent him out after and then some. Meeting Kisuke in his lab, Vacanze relieved himself of his finding. Even the small luminous gems he found. He came to find out they were called Seraphinite. Vacanze was pleased with his findings, asking if it would be a safe crystal to make a necklace for Kita. Kisuke chuckled at him and nodded, confirming the crystal was safe. Only the Aeronite was a danger for Sumi. At that, Vacanze left the lab leaving Kisuke to do his thing, whatever that was, and headed to his room to finish his project for Kita. When he was finished, he slid the gift into his pocket, leaving his room to go find Kita. When he did find her, he was surprised. She was on the roof looking out over the town. “I thought Ichimaru banned you from the roof after the last incident we had up here?”

Kita looked back over her shoulder at Vacanze and chuckled softly. "Hello, and welcome back." Vacanze walked over, sitting down next to her as the two hugged in a greeting. "And yes, he did, but that was while I was pregnant."
Vacanze shook his head, "No, I am pretty sure with as shook up as he was that he meant never again."
Kita laughed resting her chin back to her folded arms on her knees. "Well he started this. So he can't blame me for liking being up here." She sighed softly. "You know... This is where I really got to know Gin as a person. No one bothered us here so we could talk. It was nice."
