“Really?” came a sarcastic voice as if from a distance. “It’s really a garden," he sneered, "where you were overcome with confusion, Wolf?” Steel whistled through the darkness, ripping light through the dimness. Dressed in black shikakusho, Gin appeared before the rip, silver hair swirling over his eyes. Grinning mildly, Shinsou’s naked edge dancing in the fading light. “Is the noble’s charm that intoxicating. Tervaden?”

Vale said nothing as Chinmoku darkened the garden again. His ears twitched at the sound of Shinsou ripping through the mass again. Vale turned the hilt of his blade against his forearm, silently keeping his mass of micro-shards from tearing through Ichimaru's body.
Shinsou tore through the mass again and again, as Vale moved silently around the garden. Only his eyes could pierce the darkness around him, allowing him to view his foe as if a light shone brightly.

Gin chuckled as the Wolf stalked him within the gloom, the swirling mass of his blade rustling around them both -- or would be, if he hadn't been plunged into a world of stillness, but for the rips he set off with Shunsou. His grin grew, a shiver of excitement upon him. He needed this. Crafting an image in his head from memory, he halted, fingers twisting around the hilt of his zanpakuto. With a silent phrase, he vanished from Tervaden’s eyes, cloaking himself and his reiatsu.
"You know, you need very little to actually fight by, and the essential part is not the five senses, dearie~ Closing his eyes, sinking into his own quiet, he turned around. "I was born in the dark, Wolf. Now, what is that was so pressing that you’ve put up this show?”

Still, Vale said nothing as he turned the hilt of his blade in his hand again. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, as Chinmoku left a single cut on Ichimaru's cheek. Stepping up behind the Ichimaru, Vale leaned close and whispered in his ear.
"Why are you hiding from me?" he whispered, disappearing from behind Ichimaru as Shinsou rang out in the dark. "Do you fear me that much?" Shinsou rang out again. "I see freely in the dark."
Vale began to laugh as he distanced himself from his foe, his smile still tugging at his lips. "I was born in the dark. You think that makes it your ally?! You..." Vale's smile grew wide as he shook his head. "You adopted the dark, Ichimaru. And, it's turned on you." Turning the hilt of his blade in his hand again, depriving his foe of what senses remained.
"As you've turned on it..."

Gin’s face twisting in macabre grin of savage bloodlust at the threat, he shed his cloak of concealment. “I fear no man, Wolf,” he hissed, confident that his opponent would hear him. “I never have. I just have my own ways of getting around your net.” The first attempt had failed. Leaving him in the nothingness around him, nothing but the oblivion of eternal darkness. Not even a heartbeat. “Kurose, Kamishini no Yari.” A great quake shook the earth as the fastest blade rent the earth around his master and shredded into the surroundings, creating a great gulf around his form. With another twist, Chinmoku’s nothingness fell. Gin tilted his head at the form quite a distance away from him and the destroyed garden. “Woops, I missed~ But can you get away again?” Gin vanished in whoosh of shunpo from his turf, heading towards his prey.

Vale hummed lowly as he close his eyes. The moment Ichimaru appeared before him, swinging Shinsuo toward him, Vale disappeared. Chinmoku began to swirl violently, darkening the Garden again. As Ichimaru swung his blade, ripping through the mass of Chinmoku, Vale watched from not too far away.
Gin raised a hand, waving it in the air as his grin widened. "Why are you hiding from me, dearie~?"
Vale tapped the hilt of his blade against his hip. A small amount of Chinmoku gathered and ripped through his foe, tearing his right arm from his body. "You underestimate me. All of you do. And, you've done so without realizing how much I have changed. You seem to believe that I am the same man that I was seven years ago."
Ducking as he avoided yet another swipe of Shinsou, Vale continued on. "Your belief is that since I have not changed, neither has my power." Again, another small amount of Chinmoku gather and tore through Ichimaru's body, this time tearing his left leg from his body. Vale tapped the hilt of his blade against his hip again, allowing hallucinations to flood his foe's mind.
The hallucinations were not of chaos, as they normally would be. Instead, Vale shared with Ichimaru his memories while he was human. Memories of Kita waiting for Ichimaru while in a coma. As he continued to flood his foe's mind with memories and hallucinations, Vale reformed a portion of his blade.
"Besides being an illusion based zanpaukto, my blade is far more unique. One of a kind. A cosmic blade, that's what I call it. I am more at an advantage here, than you think, since no one has really experienced my blade."
"So, I don't care if you don't panic. I don't care if you don't shrivel up. I don't care about instinct! You want to know my weakness? You want to know how to stop me?" Vale disappeared, reappearing behind his foe. "Become bigger than I am." he whispered, thrusting the partially formed blade through Ichimaru's back and out of his chest.
Chinmoku, both the mass and partial blade, began to glow a blinding white.

Gin cursed as the blade wrenched through his insides and blood dribbled from his mouth, overcome by a strange sense of déjà vu. His attempt to kill Aizen, reaching for the Hogyoku, before all had turned upside down and inside out with failure. The blinding lights all around him didn’t help either. He had gotten too close, again. For what? Rangiku was already dead.
Shinsou trembled in his grasp. The hallucination passed before him of the vessel mourning over his body.
Slumping, his eyes narrowed and he swung backwards, digging Shinsou deep into his nemesis’ eye! As Vale screamed, he grinned through the blood choking up his throat. “That is for taking- what was mine – with- without permission, Wolf,” he spat. The white mist flung the other arm off and Gin fell to the ground. More words bubbled up, driven by Kita’s words that Vale would defeat him. That he would lose. “So what- if I aimed too close? There’s something about looking… into the eyes…. with revenge…” He coughed, blood gushing up from inside him.
But then again, he already had. Gin gritted his teeth. No, it wasn’t over. His sky blue, crimson tainted eyes shone.
“Bastard!” he snarled.

Vale grunted at the pain coursing through his face. "I've spent most of my life unable to see with one eye. You think this bothers me?"
As the white light brightened, Vale turned Chinmoku onto his foe. Chinmoku encased Ichimaru, lifting the dying man from the ground. The white sphere blackened as spikes shot through it and blood dripped from the spikes.
Ichimaru's limp body fell from the sphere as Vale walked over to him. Raising his partially formed blade to the back of Ichimaru's head, Vale began to push forward, ready to pierce the man's skull.

The blade tip stopped centimeters from Ichimaru's head. The point of the blade a breath from plunging between the mans eyes. Sumi appeared before Vale, hands folded before her as she stepped toward Vale. She reached out cupping his cheek when he looked up at her. His eye healed instantly. Her hand fell back with the other as she looked into his eyes.
"This is nothing but foolery. You either want him to be the Gin Ichimaru he was before his love for Kita or you want him to be the man he became because of Kita. Make up your mind, Tervaden." She looked down to Gin shaking her head. "And you...You're as big of a fool as the one standing in front of me."
Gin's eyes were barely open, and if he was even coherent enough to hear her, it was debatable. She lifted her hand as Vale went to grab her wrist, his hand phasing through her arm. She looked to Vale once more. Saying nothing to the man she watched as he flicked the blood from the reformed blade and sheathed it, "What do you want, Tervaden?"

"Nothing from you." replied Vale. "You are worse than Alister. You take in hopes of making things better. But, you only record history. You can not see the harm your choices bring until it is already done."
"And, your puppet is better?"
"Alister...At least, gives his pawns a choice. One evil for another." Vale rubbed his eye, bowing slightly to the goddess. "I thank you for healing my eye." He nodded before looking down at the near dead Ichimaru.
"I want nothing from Ichimaru but for him to choose a path. The right path. Ichimaru revels in chaos and dysfunction; any situation he can manipulate to his advantage. But, his heart...His heart dwells in the land of the living and the light. He doesn't belong here."
"And, Kita does?"
Vale shook his head. "She is where she needs to be. But, this isn't about her. This is about Ichimaru. Now, if you want to help, give him back his memories. All of them."

Sumi looked to Gin from Vale. He was hanging in there, but at the rate he was losing blood he would not be for long. She looked back to Vale as her hand waved over Gin stopping the bleeding.
"If I do this. If I return his memories. I return all of their memories." Sumi looked into Vales eyes. "You know what that will mean. Not that you care for her. Only the child in her womb. You know she will return to Ichimaru."

Vale shook his head. "If you are truly the goddess of history, than you know that I do care for her. I am destined to end this life alone." Resting a hand on the hilt of his zanpakuto, Vale narrowed his eyes as he looked to the goddess.
"You do not have to return all of their memories. And, despite your being foolish enough to have allowed her to be reminded of her past, this is what is best. Give Ichimaru his memories. But, do nothing to Kita and Sojiro."

Sumi narrowed her eyes at the man before her. "Just because she was told about them means nothing. There are no feelings there to bind her to them. You can tell her until you are blue in the face about her forgotten memories, but that means nothing to her. She knows nothing of her love for the man at my feet."
She turned from Vale as she continued, "I may be the Goddess of history, but I know nothing of how one feels for another. That is something I collect from the person actions and what they have told me or said to the one or ones they care for or love." She turned back looking at Vale, "You sir have an odd way of showing you care for anyone."

"And?" questioned Vale. "Are you going to return just his memories, or not?" Vale looked to the goddess, his grey eyes narrowed. "If you are, heal him quickly so that I can finish this."
Sumi laughed as she looked at Vale, "Finish this? Do you think I am going to heal him, return his memories then turn him back over to you? If you do you're a bigger fool than Aizen."
"I never said that I was going to fight him. My blade would have never been sheathed, if that was my intent. He will not suffer my blade anymore, this day. Now...please."

Sumi looked to the man unsure of his plans. A hand waving over Gin as his body started to reform. "One wrong move from you, Alister or any other within this time we are speaking after I heal him and set his path... I promise you... None of you will be pleased with my next course of action."
Vale smiled with a nod. "But, you will not be here. After this, you will leave, as you have chosen to interfere no more than you already have...Seraph." Vale raised his finger to his lips, hushing the goddess as she opened her mouth. "The rules were not rewritten to suit you. And, you are not to follow them at your discretion."
"My orders from the Soul King are to protect my vessel by any means I deem fit. Which means physically and mentally. If anything were to happen to Ichimaru or anyone else she deems an important part of her life I am allowed to do what is needed to prevent said damage from occurring to MY vessel." She glowered at the man before her. "Push your limits Tervaden and you will find yourself on the receiving end of something you will not like."
Gin started to moan, his head tossing to and fro as she continued in his healing. "Now shall we continue this or do I take Ichimaru some place you will never find him along with the vessel and their children?" She smiled slyly at Vale with her added 'their children' to her statement.
