"This very act of speaking causes a ripple that changes the future. Unfortunately for you, these ripples make no matter to me. I can always adjust. Which, of course, causes another ripple." Koga continued to pick at his nails as a smiled formed on his lips. "Yumiko Ryouma's presence here means nothing to me. It's something to my Master. So, I will fight for him. But, fate and time have her here, Soul Reaper. No matter how much you are disgusted by the idea, she will return to him."

Juushiro looked up at the espada. “There is always another future available” he stated firmly, “and I will fight for the future that keeps her away from here. Even if, in your eyes, she comes back here,” he continued, green eyes bright with determination, “that doesn’t mean she won’t be able to leave again.” The espada looked up from his nails with a wider smile. “I wonder how you will fight from your prison, Soul Reaper.”
Juushiro didn’t blink. “You’re the one who said I wouldn’t always be here,” he pointed out calmly. “There is always a way to resist."

Koga nodded and turned to face Ukitake once more. "This is true, Soul Reaper. There is always a way to resist. But resistance, in this case, is futile. Sousuke Aizen is not a man who is easily defeated. You know this. As well as he know that he faces a challenge from the rest of the Gotei 13." Koga stepped back from the bars and headed towards the entrance of the prison. He ignored the sudden spike and decline of reiatsu from Vale Tervaden. Even the tremors that forced parts of the palace to collapse, he ignored. "It seems your former brother in arms is having problems of his own. Perhaps, you would like to speak with him? Help calm his mind?"

Juushiro contemplated his options and lowered his head again. “Resistance is never futile. It is a demonstration of hope. And though I believe Vale Tervaden is beyond anyone’s help, a talk with him may lead to some explanation, which we never found out.” He closed his eyes. “I suppose I will find out soon enough if I am going to talk to him or not, considering who I am speaking to.”

Koga smiled. "It is an explanation that would only anger you. Rest now, Soul Reaper. Azayaka will be in shortly."

"The Weary, Bound":.:WARNING: TORTURE:. Azayaka crept silently into the prison cell that housed Ukitake, her reiatsu concealed. He slept, still bound on the cot with the choker around his neck. She climbed onto the cot and straddled him. Slowly and gently she lifted his head, and slid a metal chain around his head. She climbed off of the cot and walked out of the cell, sliding the chains through the bars and locking the door behind her. She wrapped the chain around her hand and forearm as she backed away from the cell. With the chain taut Azayaka shunpo'd backward, forcibly pulling him from the cot and slamming him against the bars. She only pulled the chain tighter as he struggled against the cell wall.

Juushiro coughed weakly as the chain pressed against his windpipe, sending spikes of pain through his lungs. Spots danced before his eyes and he clenched his hands, focusing his energy enough to know who his attacker was.
“Azaya -“ he whispered harshly, “this won’t change what I said to you,” he breathed out. “This - is not - what -“ his cough worsened and he inhaled sharply, swallowing bile and the familiar acidic taint, “you have - to be,” he forced out.

"Shut up!" shouted Azayaka, as she shot a bolt of kido through the chain. Her grin widened as Ukitake's body struggled against the kido and the chain around his neck. She jerked the chain hard, until the sound of his head banging against the bars was colored with the red staining his white hair. She pulled the chain, keeping it taut. "Your words mean nothing to me! I will follow my father until death takes me!"

Juushiro forced a stream of his severely limited energy into the chain, weakening it enough it broke on the next pull. The captain fell to the ground face first and rolled to his side, coughing weakly. He closed his eyes, resisting the need to send healing kido to his windpipe. His energy needed to last longer. As he lay there, he felt an overwhelming sadness flow through him. It looked like Azaya was beyond his reach, but still, he didn’t see her as an enemy but another victim. He sighed hoarsely. She was another soul corrupted by Sousuke.

Azayaka grunted as the chain fell to the floor. She walked over to the cell and opened the door. "I pity you and any other fool that goes against my father." Her eyes narrowed as she walked over and kicked Ukitake in the ribs until he rolled over on his stomach. She knelt down on his back, her knees pressing into his ribs. "Pity..." With a hand at each end of the chain, Azayaka looped the chain around Ukitake's neck and pulled back until his spine could no longer bend.

Juushiro grunted in pain, hands clenched white in their restraints. Again he sent a tiny stream of energy, creating a barrier between his windpipe and the bruising chain. Just a hairbreadth of protection. She yanked. His eyes opened, crimson flashing before his eyes as the pain peeked. Another deep cough gurgled forth as the pressure on his body increased. Sweat beaded on his brow, determined to not let Isane’s work go for naught. He had to resist….

Azayaka released the chains and let them fall to the floor. She stood as Ukitake coughed, desperately gasping for air. She looked down on him as his breathing finally calmed and his coughing stopped. Once he had settled, she stood on his back. "Shall we continue?" She knelt down and grabbed the restraints around his wrists and pulled until his arms could rise no more. Then, with one swift jerk, she pulled up dislocating both of his shoulders.

The captain cried out hoarsely, his head falling forward and a trickle of blood escaping his lips. He swallowed painfully through the lacerations on his neck, not speaking. His body shook as stress warred with repressed pain from the continued trauma. He closed his eyes, bearing with it, focusing on holding his energy at bay. A hot liquid ran down his cheek as the wound on his forehead opened again.

Azayaka kicked backwards, her foot connecting with the back of his head. Another harsh cry echoed out in the prison as Ukitake's head bounced between her foot and the cold hard floor. She stepped off of his back and exited the cell, locking the cell door behind her. "Try not to die during the night. I will return to finish this, shortly."
