Inoue shook her head. "Do not underestimate him, Yumiko. He may have a temper. And, you may have been able to defeat him during your last fight. But, Vale is far from a weak man." Inoue turned away from Yumiko. "You wouldn't really hurt Vale would you? Even if I asked you not to?"

Yumiko opened her mouth to reply then halted. She squeezed Orihime’s hand. “If you want to protect him, Orihime, then no, unless he attacks first, I won’t. But if he attacks me… Yumiko’s eyes narrowed. “I know he’s not a weak man, but I won’t let him win easily. I can’t.”

Inoue nodded. "If he is the first to attack...Kick his ass. But, do not go after him. And, I swear I will do my best to keep him from coming after you. You have my word!" Inoue gave a slight bow and smile. "Yumiko...How do you think Kita is doing?"

Yumiko smiled brightly at the change in subject. "I think she's doing much better now than she was." She turned to the window, watching the moonlight streaming inside the marble walls. "She will have the support she needs to do what fate has given her." She chuckled and shrugged. "At least that is what I think."

"I hope so." replied Inoue. "If any of us needed a break from all of this, it was her." She ran her finger through her hair, pulling it up into a ponytail. She let out a small yawn. "Is he ever nice to you? Aizen, I mean."

Before she could stop it, Yumiko’s cheeks colored. Lips firming into a line, she waited until the blush had faded. She took a breath. “What he did for me were all lies. It doesn’t matter if he has been kind…. sometimes.” She closed her eyes and then opened them again. “It doesn’t. Each gesture was a game to him. A means to making me a stronger weapon for him.” She smiled grimly. “That is all.”

Inoue raised an eyebrow. "Vale says it doesn't matter how your strength is acquired. Just be happy that you are stronger." she looked at Yumiko and smiled. "And, you are stronger. so, why be mad at him?"

Again, as Orihime’s words lingered in her mind, Yumiko paused before speaking. She shook her head. “It was a game to him. Nothing more. I gave him so much, and it was nothing but a game to him. I don’t know if I will ever completely escape.” She turned her head aside. “I didn’t need that to price to become strong. There were other ways.” Yumiko chuckled a moment later. “At least this way, I don’t have to choose,” she murmured.

"Game or not." She looked to Yumiko. "Your feelings for him are real. And, that's not going to change." Inoue smiled as she thought about. "Vale is an asshole and a jerk. He stole me from my home and did nothing but hurt me. But.." She shrugged. "It's different, now. I'm not angry anymore. he doesn't hurt me anymore. I think Vale's a big softy." She giggled and shook her head. Shh! don't tell."

Yumiko chuckled and then her smile faded, as, once again, Orihime’s words lodged themselves in her mind. She shook her head, recalling the words spoken by Gin Ichimaru. “It’s not enough for me,” she said quietly. She stood. “I can’t ignore what he has done, what he continues to do to others, for his selfish goals. I can’t ignore those screams. Maybe I can’t change these feelings, but I can fight letting them control my actions from now on. I can bury them away. I have done that before. I can do it again.”

"What does it help? If you love him, the you love him." She smiled. "It happens. Don't try and change that. Or, you will do more harm than good."

"No!" Yumiko shouted.
As Orihime started, she smiled apologetically. "No, Orihime, I can't choose that. I fell for a lie. He never showed me his true face. Therefore, in the end, my love is a mirage. It can be broken." She hugged her friend. "Thanks for talking to me. I know you mean well, but I will see my choice to the end." Her blue-violet eyes narrowed. "And I will fall out of love with Aizen."

Inoue returned Yumiko's hug with a smile. "Then, I wish you the best."

"Thank you, Orihime." Yumiko smiled again. "I hope Vale treats you better from now on." The two exchanged another hug and Yumiko walked back towards the door. She froze as Vale opened it with a wide grin. Yumiko smiled grimly and offered him a curt farewell, before Orihime grabbed his arm. Yumiko continued on her way out. "Good luck, Orihime." - END RP - "Experiencing the Captain's Testing":

"Repercussions of Remnants":Vale lay on the floor in the main area of his chamber. His face was smeared with blood. And, his hand was still wrapped around his zanpakuto. His eye fluttered open occasionally, only to fall shut again under the weight of his exhaustion .
He lay there, barely conscience. He raised his arm, lifting his zanpakuto until it was in view. It was different. The weight was off. It had new nicks, a shorter blade, and barely a voice to listen to. His last attack was one of improvise - something to satisfy his own blood lust. Something that spread him too thin. He had already tasked more than he could handle. He handled simultaneous and multiple hallucinations in multiple people. Now, he left part of himself behind in the one place he did not want to be. He was tired. Vale soon found himself drifting again, until a weight forced itself down on his chest. Azayaka.
