"Nothing," Yumiko replied, shaking her head. She didn't want to talk about it, how it seemed that it was only negative moments that were crowding her mind now, contrasting with being embraced by Aizen. She combed a hand into her hair. She needed to erase him from her mind, but her unconsciousness had a good way of reminding her how hard that would be.
"Suit yourself," came the voice of the snake next door, "though it usually helps to talk with someone about your life becoming a nightmare."
Yumiko looked over towards his cell again. "Is that personal advice?"
"Nah," he said, with a slight sneer, "it's better to keep my poison to myself, but it helps Kita."
She considered it but shook her head again. She didn't want to talk about it. "Can you tell me more about Ukitake-san?" she asked, changing the subject.

Gin shrugged then chuckled, imagining Kita glowering at him for such a reaction. "He's a good person, a bit too good for me to understand him." Kita glaring more. "He'll accept nearly everyone. If Aizen hadn't crushed his loyal followers when he betrayed Soul Society..." he halted, wondering if he should go on, then said, "if he hadn't crossed a line, I think he would still be trying to understand Aizen."
He tilted his head, wondering how to make Kita smile at him in his mind. "He's one of the most powerful men in Soul Society, but he doesn't care about power or prestige. He cares about life and those around him. He's selfless, and I guess that is why I can't understand him. I don't see what he gets for doing all these things for others and yet asking so little for himself."
He chuckled. "He's the opposite of Aizen-san in every way, really."

Yumiko flinched visibly as he turned the conversation back to the one who had such a hold of her heart and soul. "How does he resist ...." she paused, "how does he not give up when against Aizen? He doesn't seem..." she fell silent, recalling his anger at Aizen's words to her. "He's so strong, but he's different than Urahara."

Gin looked out at the peek of light through his window, wondering how to tackle this one. She'd opened up, just enough, but what advice would help her? "Ukitake fights when he must to protect what is important to him," he stated, "and no one has allowed Aizen to focus his attention long enough to crack him. He has a lot of protectors and his power comes from them. In addition, Ukitake survives Aizen's tricks because he can see the good in nearly any situation. He searches for it, even if it is a needle in a haystack."

Yumiko listened closely and raised her head from her knees. She wet her lips. "If... if I give myself to Aizen until ... when it ends... will I lose myself?" she asked.
"What's the good of that situation?" Gin questioned in turn.
Yumiko frowned slightly. "He wouldn't hurt me, and Kita -"
"Careful about putting yourself out to protect Kita, even after what you know," the snake cautioned. "Kita has a much better grip on what awaits her when she gets past this. Do you?"
Yumiko shook her head then started crying. "How can I? All I remember is my family leaving me and the darkness of that room when I was alone on moonless nights. I don't remember much of my noble training before, but I recall the stiffness in my back. Aizen," she gulped, "he took it all away, but it was a game..." She covered her mouth, stifling another sob and forcibly calming down. "I don't want to go back though, not if it was false, but what if my heart won't listen to that? What if ... he uses my powers on others?"
"I'm scared," she muttered a moment later, "but not of him. Even now, I am not scared of him. It's what could happen."

Gin tapped his fingers on his knee. This was getting complicated. The noble was still vulnerable, even more so, to Aizen and any manipulations in the web of games still in play. What was the best way to protect her and their goals?
He sighed. I don't know if Kita is going to like this reply, he murmured to himself.
"What is done can always be undone, given time and understanding. We will have that."
"What do you mean?"
Gin's eyes became slits even in the isolated darkness as he elaborated. "Aizen is a very charismatic and possessive person, and he seems to have developed a 'liking' to this game between the two of you."
"He said that game was over," she pointed out, her voice carefully neutral.
Gin scoffed. "If it was, he would have done a lot more than lock you up with a bruise on your arm and around your neck for one night."
"What ... do you think ... I should do?"
"Use the game," he stated, blunt.

Yumiko's heart lurched. She felt dizzy. "But..." she said, starting to protest, but failing. "You were already considering it," the snake said. She had to nod. She had been. But he hadn't answered her question. Would she lose herself? "Will I -" "That's not something I can answer," Gin interrupted, replying. "What matters to you? Can you forgive everything he has done and will do for his embrace? Is that the kind of person you want to be? Those are answers that need to come from you." Yumiko looked down into her lap, to the red sash still around her waist. "I'm still scared," she whispered. "That's not always a bad thing." She closed her eyes, composing herself to her task, and a memory floated free. A quiet greeting from Ukitake-san - "It's a beautiful day outside. The sky is an endless blue and there are more clouds drifting on the breeze today." A louder, playful reply - What Juushiro isn't telling you (insert dramatic pause) is that you're prettier than the sky outside.""Alright," she murmured, barely above a breath, but she had a slight smile on her face. She would do what she had to. She had friends who could support her, too. - END RP - "A Captain's Help":

"Release":
Walking into the prison Aizen stopped in front of Ichimaru's cell first. He looked in at the man sitting on the cot his back resting against the wall. Ichimaru did not look his way until Aizen delivered his news, a wide smirk across his face as he did so. "It seems Vale has come back. Finding his resolve was not as hard as he thought it would be." Aizen turned with a soft chuckle stepping over to Yumiko's cell. "Kita had better be on her best if she plans one being in one piece by the end of the month." He looked at Yumiko eyes slightly narrowed. "Did you sleep well, my Queen?"

Yumiko lowered her eyes to her lap, escaping Aizen's probing gaze for a moment. "No, I did not sleep well," she said simply. After a moment, she lifted her head again and elaborated, "It gets dark here and too quiet." Her head fell back to her lap. "It was hard to sleep without Mizue, too."

Gin decided to intervene. "Care to explain further why you think the stray dog has found his resolve, Aizen-san? Last I heard from the guards, he seemed to falling under my dearie's spell just as the Septima had for a short time."

Aizen paid no mind to Yumiko and the pity that spilt over from her as he turned his gaze to Ichimaru his smirk still in place. "That's exactly right Ichimaru. A short time." He stepped toward Ichimaru's cell once more. "Have you grown as pathetic as the one next to you? Have you not felt the new presence here in Las Noches? It seems Vale thought she needed to grace us with her charm once more."
He chuckled softly looking to Yumiko. "It seemed Vale deemed to make her his own."
He turned back to a scowling Ichimaru.

Yumiko flinched as Aizen called her pathetic. It hit too close to home with the memories of her parents leaving her, but at the same time, it was a relief - for a moment. She clenched her hands in her lap as her former lover looked back at her as he delivered the final piece about Vale taking the new girl for himself. Again, she felt dizzy...
I won't lose myself to him. I won't.

Gin's eyes narrowed as Aizen described Vale's new colors to both himself and Yumiko. "I can sense her presence just fine, but she's not the only agitated energy signature around here. But then again, perhaps you wouldn't care about the way your Cuarto's reiryoku has been acting in the last couple weeks. I wonder if his tumble with your daughter was a good or bad thing for him after all~" he sneered.

Aizen chuckled, "you need not worry about my Espada. They fare just fine without your concern, Ichimaru. Though, I am shocked you show no concern for your Pet. After all, Vale is her keeper now." Aizen's eyes portrayed nothing less than the image of triumph.
With a small chuckle Aizen turned back to Yumiko reaching for her cell door. "So what will it be Yumiko? Do I leave you or have you come to a resolve as well?"

Yumiko closed her eyes for a moment, burying her emotions, before standing up and walking towards him, stopping at the door between them. "I have found my resolve," she stated. She kept her eyes locked on him and clenched her hands to stay in control, ignoring the whisper that ran up her spine at being this close to him and refusing to examine the reason for it. "I won't leave Las Noches again," she continued.
