“I wasn’t sure how to help her,” Gin said, stroking her shoulder but looking out over the water, “but that seemed the best way to keep Aizen from tightening his control. As long as she acted normally, I thought she would be safe from him.” He lowered his head to Kita’s figure against him. “If I am wrong we need to think of a new strategy." When Kita nodded, he kissed the top of her head. "Aizen will pay for what he has done. The goddess is working on it.”
“She needs to work on it faster,” Kita grumbled. She looked up again. “Gin, please tell me you didn’t tell Yumiko that for my sake.”
“It wasn’t for that, dearie. In fact, I actually told her to be careful about trying to protect you.” Gin ran a hand through Kita’s hair. “That you have a better grip on the future.” Kita's eyes lowered. "It's the truth, pet. Even now."

"That might be true, but my fate is the same as hers and Hime's as long as I am under Aizen's thumb." She looked up at Gin. "Thanks to a promise I made a certain someone." She gave him a half smirk giving his lips a soft peck.
Her eyes and expression became serious. "Promise me something?"
Gin looked at her through inquiring eyes. "You know my answer to things like that, pet."
Kita nodded. "Promise me that, if or when the hallucination returns..." She grew silent, sighed, then cast her eyes down. "Please, just leave. Don't try to talk me back. Don't risk me me hurting you or you having to hurt me. Just leave."
Tears pooled in her eyes when she looked back up at him. "Please?"

Gin caressed her cheek, brushing the tears away, though he stayed silent for a long time. Finally, he tilted her head up further. “Are you sure about this, Kita? I can survive a lot, even more with Sumi’s powers. I may be able to free you.”
“And you may not be able to,” she murmured in response. She lowered her head and took his hand in hers. “Please, Gin. I can’t survive hurting you.”
Gin turned his head away. “I am just supposed to let it happen?” he hissed, face bared in a grimace. He chuckled a moment later. “Well... it is my place to take pain." He looked back at her. "Are you sure this is what you want?"

"NO!" Kita blurted out almost screaming at him. She quickly drew her hand to her mouth covering it. Her head lowered as did her hand. "I am sorry... I did not mean to yell at you." She bit at her lower lip.
She hated the fact that Gin thought he deserved all this. He didn't, but still he put his self in the way of harm or danger at every turn. She hated it. Hated it worse than she hated Aizen, Vale and even Azayaka, but he did it. He took it like it was his to face, and no matter what she said or tried to do. He would not stop. She could not get him to see what she saw in him.
"Is this your way of atoning for the past?"
It was not really what she wanted to say, but something she wanted to know. She wanted to know why Gin believed he deserved all this torture and this pain.

The light in Gin’s eyes sharpened. Like crystals, they pierced her, before he turned away again. “Something this small can’t atone for that,” he hissed, lowering his head, hiding his eyes with his silver bangs.
Hunched like this, the weight of his endless battle was apparent. The unnatural pallor in his skin. The wrinkles in his skin from grimacing in the dark too often. As she looked down, Kita could trace miniature scars on his fingers…. from suffering the backlash of too many emotions in place where none existed.
He sighed and the signs vanished with his wide fox-like grin. “It will certainly disrupt Aizen’s plans if I come away from this without a scratch~” he teased.

"I am not talking about this. I am talking about everything. Everything you have put yourself in the middle of. The beatings you have taken. The pain you have endured. All of this..." Kita's arm spread out wide gesturing to everything.
She walked up to him cupping his face with both hands and made him look at her. "You think me being here is your fault. It's not. You had nothing to do with it. You pull Aizen's attention from me when I clearly deserve the punishment. You know Sumi won't let me die, but still you..." she paused looking deeper in his eyes. "You protect me."
She shook her head. "It's only pain. It's soon forgotten." One hand slid from his cheek taking one of his hands. She lifted it slowly turning it over to look at the back of his hand. A faded scar across his hand. "Wounds heal. Scars fade." She looked up at him from his hand more tears forming. "I should be wearing my own scars. Not you."
The thumb of her other hand brushed lightly against his cheek.

Gin took her hand from his cheek with another slight chuckle. “As you’ve said, dearie, it is just pain and scars. They will pass.” He kissed her hand. “And you bear enough of them with a goddess and my help.” He paused. “At least in this, let me support you. I know I can never atone for my sins.... for failing others.... but this is something my path lets me do. And it is something I want."
Kita shook her head, "I lean on you enough for support, but you never let me help you. Why?"
Gin lowered his head. "You have enough pain on your shoulders without listening to my burden," he whispered. An excuse. He knew that, but it worked. He didn't rely on others. If he had before, he never would have managed to reach as far as he had.... up until the stupid shopkeeper and his cat had chosen to save his life.

Kita sighed shaking her head again. "I may never understand you. I know I will never know all your secrets, and for some people that would drive them crazy and make them think you are pushing them away. But the ones that are willing to put up with your stubborn ass." She smiled brightly and stepped closer to him. "They will find one great guy under that mischievous fox grin and those nasty narrowed eyes you seem to pull out from time to time."
She kissed his cheek softly, "as for your question earlier. No. It's not what I want you to do. It's the smartest thing for you to do. I would love it if you could tie me to one of the trees and beat the hallucination out of me." She sighed softly, "but we know that won't happen." A playful grin then crossed her lips. "And I am talking about you beating me."
She poked him in the side and stepped quickly back from him out of arms reach. She tilted her head widening her eyes slightly. "Ain't that right, Master?" She said in a playful tone.

Gin’s dark mood evaporated and he rose from the rock. “Is that so, pet?” he purred, eyes dancing with evil mischief. The fox vanished and reappeared behind Kita. Reaching for her arm, he spun his captive around. “Is that statement myth or fact?” he asked, tone nonchalant. “I have never been quite sure.” He brought her face closer to his. "Shall we test it now~?"
Kita raised a brow, her head slightly tilted. Not a worry in her eyes nor in her tone. Only trust laid within both. "I believe it to be both. I trust your better judgment in doing what needs to be done. If I need to be beaten you will do it. Just like you have in the past. But I know you would never beat me just for your amusement."
Gin frowned slightly at her honest words. "I wish it never happened," he whispered, pulling her back into his arms. He fell silent yet again. "Kita, you have done more for me than I can ever repay you. If you want me to leave you," he took a breath, "then I will leave you when the hallucination takes hold. I promise you."

Kita's heart sank to hear him say he would leave her, she knew he was the only one that could help her fight it from taking over, but she did not want him within the wreath of the hallucination if it did take over in her.
She looked up at him and gave him the best smile she could muster at the moment. "I'm always with you. Please don't forget that. Even with the hallucination having hold of me. I do think of you, and not in a way Aizen would like. My subconscious fights with my conscious trying to push through with that slight bit of light. Now with what happen three days ago and the broken promise from Aizen." She sighed but there was hope in her tone as she continued. "I pray that little weakness in the hallucination will allow my subconscious thoughts to finally be able to push through. I don't know if it was because I was so weak when you came to me that I did not fight you or if maybe it was starting to crack."
She stepped back and looked at him. "No matter what it was. I don't trust it and I don't want to hurt you." She paused, "I do enough of that."

Gin’s hands tightened around her shoulders. “No, Kita. None of my pain is your fault. If you do anything, you create the light in the dark days.” He stroked her arm. “Promise me one thing in return for this exchange.” Kita tilted her head at him. Gin’s eyes narrowed to slits. “Fight. Even if I am not with you, fight the hallucination. Don’t let it consume you. Find the cracks in your subconsciousness.”
He hesitated then set his hand over her heart. “You’re not the only one who is not alone. I am with you. Even if you push me away.” He lowered his head, finding it difficult to look at her at the moment. “You’ll always be there for me. Let me do the same.”

Kita smiled lifting his hand over her heart to her lips. She kissed his palm and rested it to her cheek. "I swear to you Gin. I will never walk away from you. Not now. Not ever."
Gin was about to say something as she quickly placed her finger over his lips quieting him. She shook her head. She knew what he was going to say. "Even when my memories return. The only way you are going to get rid of me is by telling me to get lost and you never want me in your life again. No one or nothing will ever be able to get me to walk away from you, and I do mean no one. It will be a fight to the end."

Gin chuckled and was about to make a reply when Kita went rigid. Her eyes went wide before she a whirled away from him and dropped, closing her eyes tightly. Gin reached out to her but a transparent barrier lifted between them. He growled and turned to the goddess above him. Silently she shook her head. “Go away! I don’t want to go back! Just leave me alone! Heaven’t you done enough damage?!” Gin’s eyes narrowed but he stayed quiet. Barely. Especially as she began crying. “GO AWAY!” Gin turned around, clenching his fists. Behind him, Kita screamed. She fell to the ground, clutching her head, teeth chattered as she bit out each denial to his existence. The fox closed his eyes. If this is what will help you, dearie, he murmured to himself. He looked to the goddess, narrowing his eyes in a warning at her, and then vanished. Reappearing above the falls, he looked back down at her, hoping the screams would stop. Kita’s screams and tears stilled. “Sumi, I am ready to go back home.” Gin gnashed his teeth in fury. The goddess, eyes as solemn as ever, opened the doorway. Not even looking back, Kita entered. She was gone. Again. It took all of Gin’s willpower not to follow her through that door, and as it was, he didn’t know how long he would be able to wait. - END RP -

"Link Back to the Past":Gin's bloodstained face stared deep into the tempting waters, his slitted eyes calm, like his reiatsu. His killing spree in the Forest of the Menos had stilled the need for revenge, confidence, power, and most importantly, for her. Gin's hands clenched. He had never expected so long ago that he would be clinging this hard to another person. No matter what.
Shinsou hummed in his hand. But then again, here he had thrown away all of his reserve and shields to claim something with his whole being, no matter how short the escape would be. He had not cared. The risk, layered with the promises, and her vision had led him. Blindly. He had had no idea what would happen. And yet, those feelings...had created a son, a legacy, a future... and new rules to balance himself.
Gin glared into the pool. Tervaden was exploiting any mistake or shadow for some unknown gain. And since she had left him, Gin had been vulnerable in ways he hadn't been since his first years of service. That would have to change. He couldn't afford to lose at this point.
But what was he missing?

As Ichimaru glared at his own reflection, crimson eyes narrowed as Aizen's reflection appeared behind his own. "This hold this woman has on you, she's made you weak. You seek out a light that no longer exists in this world, Ichimaru. You've left me settled with Tervaden, when he finds the time to come out from between Kita's legs."
Gin growled, drawing Shinsou and pointing it at the impostor. "Do you think I am this foolish, Teruo? I know Aizen-san well enough to know that you are not him. You lack the stench that his arrogance provides."
Teruo laughed, shifting in shape as Shinsou's edge scraped against his chin. Aizen's form shifted into that of Miyamoto. "Is this better?"
