Hitsugaya grunted as he struggled to get out of Hirako's grip. Once he was out of the headlock he shoved his arms off. "Don't get me wrong. I'm very thankful that Rangiku made it through this. I just don't see why we have to make a spectacle out of this party. I'm sure she still needs rest anyway." He straightened his haori, shaking his head. "If you lot want to get drunk off of sake, that's on you, but leave me out of it. You know I don't drink."

Nori chuckled softly. "One drink never hurt anyone, Captain. You can at least toast to her and Izuru's safe return. Along with the return of the others that served along side of them." Nori turned and looked at Hirako. "You're looking well since your return. It's good to see you on your feet again, Captain Hirako."

Shinji smirked. "Thanks, Nori-chan," he said, flexing his hands. "Not even the freak could keep me in bed forever! And next time he pulls a stunt like that, I will not succumb to the experiments," the snarky captain went on to declare. "This Hollow of mine has to be good for something besides brute force."

Hitsugaya sighed and shook his head. "I really wonder about him sometimes. Why they let him become a captain, I'll never know."

It had been a few hours and finally breaking away from the festivities, Captain Mutsu made her way toward the lonely Captain Commander as he sat under a cherry blossom tree enjoying his sake and watching the theatrics. She hated the idea of disturbing him with business in such a time of festivities and a joyous occasion, but Kisuke seemed adamant on the information he was seeking. And she had to admit if he could pull his little stunt off it could greatly help in the end. For everyone.
She slowly walked up to him with a warm bright smile and bowed to her Commander. When she stood erect again she lifted a cantier of sake from the inside of her haori.
"May I?" She asked him referring to joining him.

Shunsui grinned held up his saucer. "By all means, Nori-chan, come join an old man who has once again been rejected by the lady of his heart." He looked back over at the tents. "So many happy faces, the festival seems to have done its trick again. Even if there are a couple sour faces in the mix." He pointed out the scowling Captain Hitsugaya watching his lieutenant and the calm figures of Captain Kuchiki with Captain Koriyama in the shadow of another tree. "How does it feel to have your own lieutenant back?"

Nori poured him a saucer of the sake and joined him. "Rejoiceful Commander. I have to admit I was fearful for his return." Looking out over the others as they enjoyed the party and listening to Kyoraku talk, she smiled. "Yes it would be nice to see some of them smile from time to time. Though..." She leaned toward Kyoraku slightly cupping her hand over her mouth so no one could see her lips. "I think Byakuya-san's face is permanently fixated in that expression." She sat up and looked Byakuya's ways. "I don't think I have seen him smile once since I have joined the Gotei 13."
She poured herself a saucer of sake and took a sip. She looked back at her Commander and smiled. "Maybe you should change your approach." Nori said out of the blue as Kyoraku looked at her blankly.
She chuckled softly. "With Nanao you silly boy."

Shunsui laughed and poured himself another saucer. "Care to elaborate, Nori-chan?" He winked. "She should have a dragon zanpakuto with the way she fends me off." He tilted his head. "I could get injured again and press my advantage there maybe."

Nori chuckled softly. "Maybe not be so forward. Let her come to you. If you show her no interest her's will peak and wonder why the change. If she thinks she has stopped turning your head and catching your eyes, she may come around and you will find you are getting that attention--from her." She smiled slyly. "One thing I do know is women. Some like to put on the facade that they hate a forward man such as yourself, but then strip that attention away and they start to miss and crave it because it was there for so long. Nanao is no different."
She lifted her saucer and nodded. "To keeping your hands to yourself?"

The commander's expression turned wounded. "Such a terrible fate," he pouted. "You have no idea how terrible." He raised his glass. "To not touching or teasing Nanao-chan, but nothing can stop me from looking." He then drained it. "If this leads to someone else catching her eye, I will be taking my misery out of your salary," he threatened calmly.
He leaned back against the trunk. "I'll share something now," he called out, pouring more for both of them. "It's true that Byakuya hasn't smiled for a long time. Ever since he joined the Gotei, you said, and that sounds about right. When his father passed away, he was left in his grandfather's care. That man was as stiff as they come. Unfortunately, most of the Kuchiki clan is like that, though his father was a real rebel. He could laugh, though he kept it out of the house." He sipped his sake. "Byakuya has some of that humor in him. It comes out differently, though. Cruel tricks on his division and the such." He paused. "Before Hisana, Yoruichi could almost tease a smile out of him, though it was more a smirk of cold vengeance."

Nori chuckled and tilted her head. "You mean I get paid for this?" She questioned sarcastically, chuckling again.
Her eyes then advanced to Byakuya shaking her head. "He is a very attractive man and I am sure could have the pick of any woman he so wishes. Though, I doubt they would approach him always looking so sour. Maybe he needs the love of another good woman." Noir started chuckling covering his mouth. "Listen to me. I sound like I am playing match maker here."
She looked back to Kyoraku. "In reality Commander. I came to talk to you about something Urahara came to me about."
Kyoraku adjusted his hat and took a sip of his sake. "If it comes from Urahara-san it can't be good." He chuckled deep in his chest. "What is he up to now?"
Nori shared a laugh with the commander taking a sip from her saucer. "He wants as much information about Azaya we can share and even not share with him. It seems he has come up with an idea in how to capture her and use her as a bartering chip against Sousuke."

Shunsui whistled. "Now that's playing with hellfire," he mused aloud. "But then again, if anyone is equipped for such a risk, it would be him." He looked back at the party, making sure his friend was still in the thick of it, then turned back to Nori. "Give it to him, but keep it quiet. I doubt Juushiro has changed his mind about disliking such methods."

Nori nodded. "I have to agree with you on this one, and if he does pull this off it will benefit us all. Though I have to say that man seems to get into some strange situations."
When Kyoraku gave her an odd look she explained what Urahara told her when he came asking for the information on Azaya. "It seems the young lady, Kita, that Urahara is fond of, has befriended one of Sousuke's Espada. The Seventh, from what Urahara said. It seems this Espada has vowed to be Kita's protector, and in turn is helping Urahara set this plan in action to capture Azaya. I thought this a little risky, but when he explained in detail how not only he spoke of Kita and how Kita spoke of him when she returned the last time. I started to wonder if Espada could be humanantized."

Shunsui took a slower sip. "I've wondered the same thing ever since I defeated Primera in the last war. We had a lot in common, he and I. Both of us didn't like to fight, and our talents were such that made others' work seem meaningless." He chuckled shortly. "The fool was even ambidextrous like me. It was like looking in a mirror."
He poured them each another saucer. "The Hollow Realm is not Hell, though some would argue that ending up there is worse than that. Perhaps that tells us something." He scratched his scruffy chin. "A wise man once told me that the world is complicated and is not meant to be understood. There are many contradictions around us, and there always will be."

"I believe the first step in understanding is being open minded enough to except what is set before us. Kind of like the way Kita believes." She looked to the commander. "Some think her way of thinking is the fools way. She trust you until you give her reason not to trust you. And that might be so in some cases. But if you are not quick to judge and willing to learn and get to know something or someone. Life would not be so complicated. Everyone is different and just because they have done something wrong does not mean they are bad or evil. We as soul reapers have marked the Espada as evil. When in reality. Some are no different then we are."
