Gary looked out across the street shaking his head. "Eight years ago would have made you eighteen, correct?"
Kita nodded slowly as Gary looked back to her his hand gently but firmly tightening around hers. "I am sure you were very scared." Kita nodded again, "may I ask why he took you, Kitten?"
“That is none of your business, old man,” Gin snapped as he neared them. He reached up and pulled the struggling Kita into his arms. His eyes narrowed at the self injury of her fingers, his arms tightening. “We need to talk, dearie. Now. Before you see Sojiro again."
Gary looked up at the new face. The frown that was there from the intruder's interference warped into a smirk. Ichimaru, he thought to himself. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and stood as he watched Kita push against him trying to get free of his grasp.
"It would seem she does not want to be with you, young man." He offered his hand to Kita in assistance. "I won't let him take you if you don't want that, Kitten."

"Let go of me." Kita growled as she pushed against Gin's chest but he would not release her as she still pushed against him. "And don't talk to Mr. Faux in that way. He is a kind man that's been a friend of Sojiro's and the rest of us for many years."
Something clicked in Gin’s mind at that name, but he couldn’t pay too much attention to it, as Kita tried to free herself from him yet again. He took a breath and pulled her close. “Kita…. calm down. No one is going to hurt our son. No one has. But a reaction like this will only scare him. Take a breath and think-”
“Think!?” she hissed, finally freeing herself with a burst of will. She winced as Ichimaru swayed on the spot but then stood firm, glaring at him. “They kept something VERY IMPORTANT from me! VALE, GIN! Vale of ALL people! Vale’s had his memories for SIX years. At least. He’s got the heart of my best friend, and Sojiro likes him!”
“And if you had known,” Gin snapped back, “you would have collapsed under the stress of that knowledge. They acted out of concern for you. To protect what you had. Without losing you.”
"I would have been able to-"
"Not as long as I was in a coma, dearie," Gin stated plainly. He stepped back away from her, holding his hands up. "We can talk about what to do with this knowledge later. But right now, you WILL scare Soji if you don't calm down."

Gary watched the couple go back and forth with their argument as he sighed shaking his head. He looked to the young man pushing his glasses up once more. "I have to disagree with you, young man. Kita is very strong. I am sure whatever information was withheld from her, she would have handled very well at the time of everyone finding out. Lying to her." Gary paused, "Lying to anyone. About something they think is important and them finding out later that everyone that was anyone knew and they were left out of the loop; would make anyone react irrationally."
He looked to Kita as she stood across from the young man with her arms crossed over her chest as he continued. "Especially when what they were hiding concerned them and someone they are trying to protect." He looked back to the young man. "Kitten--" he chuckled softly looking at Kita from the corner of his eyes, "I mean Kita. Was doing her best as a single parent. Doing what she felt was correct in raising your son." He paused again looking the young man in the eyes. "I am taking from what I just heard, that you are little Sojiro's father. Not to mention," he grinned widely, "you two look exactly the same."
The young man said nothing as he only stood there looking between the him and Kita.
"Yes, he is Sojiro's father." Kita finally answered.
"Hmm," Gary hummed as he nodded his head slowly. "Then tell me Mr. Ichimaru? How would you have reacted, if you found out you were lied to and your son was around a dangerous man?"

Gin was highly tempted to tell the old man to shut up, but he didn’t want to alienate Kita any further than he had already. “Kita, you know there is a difference in lying to someone and withholding information.” He paused. “You’ve done the same for me multiple times. Sojiro is young, and you were a young single mother. Do you really think Kisuke and Ukitake would want to hurt you?”
He let her consider that for a moment and then tentatively touched her arm. "Kita, my love, those men love you. They love Sojiro. They did what they thought was the best for all. Try to forgive them ... and me?"

Kita looked into Gin's eyes, there was a touch of annoyance in them. From what she was not sure. So much had happened in the last hour it could have been a number of things, but she could tell he was not annoyed with her. His soft tone, touch and the look he gave her beckoned her toward him. Kita took a small step forward, Gin tugged her forward finishing her motion as he stepped toward her as well. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, kissing the top of her head.
"I am sorry," Kita's voice muffled as she buried her face in his kimono.

Gary leaned to his cane as he watched the two. His eyes narrowing slightly as he looked away across the street. Mail was littering the road, walkway and the yards. He turned back as the two were parting from the embrace.
"Kitten, how did you do this?" He pointed at the mess with his cane as it drifted in the soft breeze.

Kita looked up at Gin as he shook his head ever so softly, his eyes telling her not to tell him. She sighed and looked back to Mr. Faux. "Did I do that?"
He nodded slowly at her with a slight tilt of head as Kita gave Gin a side glance. "I have to tell him something." Kita told Gin in her thoughts.
Gin made a face at Mr. Faux. "Fine. Tell him you got angry and threw shit around. Sounds close enough to me," he muttered back.
"I was just angry was all." Kita told him as she gave Gin annoyed side glance.

Gary looked at her with questioning eyes as his cane now rested in front of him and he leaned forward on it. "Kitten. That was a steel mailbox that was bolted into concrete. I watched it be ripped up from the ground and fly across the street stopping in midair over the street then exploit." He pointed at the destroyed steel mailbox in the middle of the street, the littered mail drifting in the wind.
Gary became silent as he looked at the couple. Suddenly, Gary smiled as he pushed up his glasses. "You're telekinetic aren't you, Kitten?"

Kita looked to Mr. Faux and smiled. "Yeah. What you said." She inwardly sighed as she heard Gin speak to her again in their thoughts.
"He doesn't need to know the truth about you, He is only human, he wouldn't understand."
Kita still looked at Mr.Faux with a weak smile. "You're not going to tell anyone are you, Mr. Faux?"

Gary looked on at the couple. Ichimaru not looking quite so happy. Kita still annoyed at the the news she got earlier. With an agreeing nod Gary replied. "I think I can keep your little secret between us."
Kita gave him a half smile, "thank you Mr. Faux."
Gary nodded again and turned his attention to Ichimaru then back to Kita. "Are you going to be alright if I leave you here with him?" His attention drifted back to Ichimaru as he pushed up his glasses. "He looks rather..." he tilted his head, "snake-ish."

Kita could not help but giggle softly as she covered her mouth and turned slightly from Mr. Faux's view. "He is fine Mr. Faux. You don't have to worry about him." Kita told Gary as she looked at Gin.
"Hm," Gary hummed, "if you say so, Kitten."
Kita nodded as she stepped up to Gin, tip-toed and kissed his cheek. "He is fine."

Gin listened closely to the conversation between Kita and the old man, that nickname grating heavily on his nerves. And then, he had called him snake-like. Mr. Faux. Hmmmm. Smirking inwardly, eyes imperceptibly narrowed behind his silver fringe, he wrapped his arms around Kita and turned to the man.
“I believe we haven’t been introduced formally, Mr. Fox,” he stated. “I am Gin Ichimaru, Sojiro’s father. I have been ill and unable to be with him until recently.” He held up his hand.

Gary pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and looked at Ichimar's hand as he offered. "Gary Faux. I am pleased to meet you. Mister Gin Ichimaru. You have quite the family. It's sad you had to miss out on it with being in a coma and all. I have had the pleasure of watching little Sojiro grow up into a fine little man. He and I have been playing chess for a few years now. He's very intelligent, indeed."
Kita smiled, "he is always looking to best you."
Gary looked from Kita back to Ichimaru after the statement. "Yes, but you have to get up pretty early in the morning to out chess this old man."

Gary. A name as ordinary as the the last name was unusual and ironic. Perhaps, he had been wrong, but then again…. “Surely, you don’t think an eight-year-old would best a master as old as yourself,” he commented aloud, "someone who has played the game for centuries."
Gary smirked at Ichimaru chuckling softly at his inquisition. "You never know. Years ago, I knew a young man that was almost like him." He looked to Kita and smiled warmly. "Though Sojiro will stop and think of the consequence of his actions. This other young man just charged right in." He looked back to Ichimaru. "Good thing his mother's traits shine through more than his father's."
Gin chuckled. "Here you are, going on and on, how you know so much about us." His eyes eyes narrowed. "Tell me, Gary. Why do you think Sojiro is more like his mother than a father you have never met?"

Gary's smirk grew mischievous as he leaned toward Gin and spoke softly. "I don't have to know you, Ichimaru. Just know your type. Men like you don't change." He pulled back looking into his eyes.
"Like me; you will grow old and die alone."
Gin’s doubt in the old man's innocent nature grew. Eyes narrowing further, he hissed his next question. “If I were destined to die alone, why did I save my love as she has already told you? Why did I let the kid live?” He straightened once more. "Tell me if you know me so well."
Gary pushed up his glasses keeping his gaze with the silver haired man. "Because you're selfish, Ichimaru."
Gin smirked. "Am I?" he retorted. "Selfish people die alone with their heart torn out, don't they?"
Gary chuckled, "if your speaking metaphorical," he paused, "yes. It can happen in that sense. However, one can still die alone and be surrounded by the ones they call friends and family." He looked to Kita as she stood there with a worried look in her eyes. "You were dead to your son for eight years." He looked back to Ichimaru. "You may as well had your heart rip out physically; as you were so hinting at."
