Shunsui winced inwardly at that explanation but knew he had to push the issue further. “I understand that you have grown into your position, making your division and other captains respect you as a a full captain, but have you considered your commitment to your children?” He paused. “What happens if you don’t return from a mission, Captain?”

"Don't!" shouted Ryo. "Don't...Don't say that." Ryo let her tears flow as she raised a hand, striking the Commander in the face. "Do not damn me, Shunsui!"
Shunsui didn't even flinch though his eyes narrowed imperceptibly. "Those riotous emotions are dangerous to your division, Captain. How can you protect those people who would look up to you and your children without failing the other?"
"I would give the world for my family, Shunsui. But, we are in a time of peace. Why must I step down?" Ryo stepped toward the Commander and laid a gentle hand to his arm. "Please...Throw caution to the wind for me. Just on this."

Sajin appeared behind his crying wife as she turned around abruptly. "Ryo..." He knelt down in front of her, taking one of her hands in his. "He is correct." Sajin hung his head as his ears fell back. "The Captain Commander...is correct. You are the mother of my children. Children who will depend on you for decades to come. This is a duty that is significantly more important than any duty you could perform as a Captain. I am asking as your husband and fellow Captain, please resign from your position."

"No!" shouted Ryo, snatching her hand from Sajin's. "Sajin, I won't. Please, don't ask me to." She turned, looking to the Commander then back to Sajin. "No..." Ryo lowered her gaze, stepping away from the two of them. She rested her hand to the hilt of her zanpakuto, as she walked passed Sajin. "I will not step down as Captain. I am sorry, Shunsui."
"Then," began Sajin, rising from his kneeling position. "You leave me no choice. As the head of the Komamura clan, I am ordering your resignation from the position of Captain of the Ninth Division."
"Sajin!"
"My decision is final, Ryo!" Sajin walked passed his wife, toward Ukitake and his children. "There will be no further discussion on the matter." he growled.
Ryo's hand slipped from the hilt of her blade. She remained still as Sajin disappeared from her view. Glancing over her shoulder, Ryo looked to the Captain Commander. "The head of the Komamura clan has spoken...Captain Commander Kyoraku. Thank you..." Ryo bowed slightly before shunpoing away.

The Captain Commander looked to Sajin as the wolf man sighed. Then, he turned to the direction in which Ryo had fled. He chuckled quietly. "That went well," he murmured.
Sajin turned to him. "Forgive me, Commander, but I don't understand how."
Shunsui raised his hat. "If she were not aware of her position, I would have ordered to stand down. As it is," he paused, and a wry smirk appeared on his face, "I am not. As commander of the Gotei, I am overriding your order to your wife, Komamura."
Sajin frowned, eyes narrowed slightly. "May I ask why?"
"She knows very well the ramifications of being a mother AND a Captain, and hr heart is equally devoted to both. In fact, her strength comes from both. Her reiatsu rose during our discussion, both to defend her position as captain and defend her children. If we take one away, we lose half of her power. As long as we take some 'precautions' to her dual responsibilities, I would be a fool to have someone like that resign." He turned and patted his friend on the arm. "This was a conversation that I had to have with her, but there are reasons to let other ties slide. Go find your wife and tell her I will have her resignation as captain the day I order Juushiro to retire from his."

Sajin nodded, walking over to Ukitake. "Captain, this may be quite a bit to ask of you, but would you mind watching the children for a while? I need to find Ryo." The Captain nodded as Sakuma pulled on his hair. "Try to hurry, Captain Komamura." answered the Ukitake. "While I would love to spend the day with such playful beasts, I have some place to be later." Sajin brought his fist together and bowed. "Thank you, Captain. I shouldn't be long." He turned to the Commander, bowing to him as he did Ukitake. "I know where to find her." He turned away from the two men and his children and headed out of the garden. He headed to the place he knew he would find her. Moved

"Elemental Brawl II":Soul Society had passed back into peace after the death of Tervaden and the recapture of Aizen. Central was still deliberating over his fate. But now, Ryo sat beside Hitsugaya, laughing as her husband fell dramatically to the ground after being attacked by Sakuma and Shunsui. She patted her fellow Captain on the back, as he began to cough. He had swallowed his tea while laughing at the tussle between Sajin and the twins. "Are you alright, Toshiro?" asked Ryo. The Captain nodded, setting his saucer to the table beside him. "Save yourself the trouble and try not to drink while you're watching the three of them."

"Are they always like that?" asked Hitsugaya. He watched as the larger Captain Komamura played dead as the twin boys bounced on his chest. "This...rowdy, I mean?" Hitsugaya looked to the lady Komamura who gave a slight nod to his question.
Tapping on his zanpakuto, which rested on his lap, he gave a mischievous grin. "Captain, I would like a rematch."

Ryo's face wrinkled in response to the Captain's request. "A rematch?" she questioned. "A rematch to the sparring match we had well over a year ago? It's a bit late for a your yearly rematch isn't it?"
"Afraid motherhood has slowed you down, Captain?"
Ryo smiled, eyes narrowed slightly. "Motherhood has made me a bit more cautious. But, it hasn't slowed me or made me weak."

Hitsugaya rose to his feet and secured his zanpakuto to his side. "Then, prove it. I have quite a few new weapons in my arsenal." He looked to the lady Komamura, who remained seated and sipping on her tea. "Not that I need them. I could have beaten you the last time. But, you were busy with Captain Komamura. Then, the Captain Commander stepped in."
Hitsugaya closed his eyes and shook his head. "If we do this, please promise to stay fully clothed."

"I'm afraid there wouldn't be a reason, outside of my wanting to, to strip this time around." said Ryo, rising from her seat and facing Hitsugaya. "After our last skirmish, Sajin insisted I wear something...flame retardant. Of course, Kurotsuchi decided to use that as an opportunity to see just how hot my flames can be." Resting her hand on the hilt of her blade, she smiled. "All he had to do was ask Sajin."
Ryo turned and faced her family, still caught in their tussle. "Meet me at the Training Field, Captain Hitsugaya. And, be prepared." She gave a quick glance to the Captain as he began his exit. "Neither the Captain Commander nor Sajin will be there to spare you from an ass beating."
Watching as the Captain went on his way, Ryo walked over and pulled Sakuma off of his father. "Try not to devour your father while I am gone." Sakuma gave a playful growl, trying his hardest to squirm out of his mother's grasp.

Sajin looked to his wife as he sat up and took Shunsui in his arms. "Finally gathered the strength to ask you for a rematch, has he?" he asked. In an afterthought, he added. "I thought he had given up after six years." He paused. "Should I attend this match? To ensure you keep your clothes on..."
Ryo smiled and shook her head. "They will stay on, dear, as they did last year and the year before that." She placed Sakuma in his lap and took a step back. "I promise."
Nodding, Sajin looked to his wife with narrowed eyes. "I will ask, Ryo."
"I am not a child, Sajin." stated Ryo, walking toward the exit of the garden. "But, you have my word."
"Your word..." mumbled Sajin. "They call you Captain Stripper, you know."

Ryo stopped at the entrance and glanced over her shoulder. "I could be called worse, Puppy." She gave a quick wave. "Besides, and I am sure you agree, all three of you enjoyed the view that grand fight." Ryo chuckled at the sound of Sajin growling. "Now, if you will excuse me, I have to teach the ice princess that he shouldn't play with fire. Again." With that, she disappeared in a flash of shunpo. MovedMeanwhile: "Riddles in the Dark":

"Ruined": (Continued) With two training swords in one hand, and one in the other, Sajin walked out into the garden. Sakuma sat by the pond, his feet in the pond. While Shunsui rested in the shade of a large tree with a piece of grass stick out of his mouth and a hat over his head.
"Get up!" Sajin growled. "Both of you." Both of his sons scrambled to their feet at their father's demand. Sajin tossed each of them a sword. "It's time we began your training so that we may help rebuild our home."
As his sons looked at each other, Sajin brought his fists together and bowed. "Attack me."

Shunsui looked up at his brother, as he let his arms fall to his sides. His brown eyes narrowed as his gaze turned to his father. "What for?" Shunsui threw the wooden sword to the ground. "This is stupid!"
"Shunsui!" growled Sajin.
"No!" shouted Shunsui. "Fighting is what got Mom taken!" Wiping away the tears that had fallen down his face, Shunsui turned his back to his father. "Fighting doesn't work. It won't work."
