Gin regarded the area through hooded, pale blue, cracked crystals.
Bracing himself for the worst.
It didn’t matter if the connection between his lover and himself had been broken through sheer dual pain, he knew enough of how Aizen operated - how he would have violated her in another time - to hate every last moment. The pleading and screaming of those he’d assaulted over the many centuries filled the void left behind from the crucial link.
But the old nightmares didn’t tear at him as much as the parting words of Aizen regarding his son, which overlapped with the words from the Ayakashi. If Aizen had got his hands on Sojiro…
“Daddy?”
Gin froze, liquid ice sliding through his veins as he beheld the small boy hugging his mother.
He didn’t know what he would do.

Aizen walked beside Kita his hand hovering behind her at the small of her back as Sojiro clung to her on the other side calling out to his father when he came into view. Kita's hand rested to the boys back as they walked closer to the cell. Leading them to the cell where Gin was being held the three stopped just within reach of the bars. Noticing the look on his face Aizen spoke to him.
"I figured you to be happy, Ichimaru. Your whole family is here with you."
His eyes then drifted to Yumiko which stood in awe of the sight before her. Aizen was not sure if it was because he had Sojiro captured or the kimono he had Kita wear for their visit. "Are you comfortable, Hime?"

“You lost the right to call me that a long time ago,” Yumiko hissed lowly. She had gone quite pale at the sight of Kita in that particular kimono and the capture of little Sojiro, but the use of that name from Aizen’s lips stung enough for her to pull herself together and form a competent reply. For Ichimaru’s sake.
Kita tore her eyes from her lover to look towards her, saying something with her eyes. Yumiko could imagine what, but her head was spinning too much to smile in acknowledgement.
Guilt twisted in her gut. If she had refused Vale, would Aizen’s troops have been able to capture them?
“Yumi?” Sojiro asked. She looked over to him, grateful for the distraction. “Why are you in the cell with Daddy?”
More color fled her cheeks. How was she to reply to that without making the kid even more distressed?

Aizen looked down at Sojiro where he stood not far from the bars, stepping up behind the boy, Aizen placed his hands on his shoulders. Looking up at him Aizen explained. "This is what happens when you do not answer a direct question, Sojiro. Yumiko thought it was a game when I asked her something about your Mother and she was giving me answers she thought would distract me from the truth."
"And if she would have lied to you?" Kita asked her tone flat. "Would you have done to her what you did to me?"
Aizen looked from Sojiro to Kita. "No," Aizen replied looking back at Yumiko with narrowed eyes. "I would have killed her."

Yumiko’s own eyes narrowed, pain turning to fury at the blatant threat, doubling at the view of that kimono. Ignore it, a voice in her head urged. She pushed it away. “I had no obligation to answer you in any way,” she snapped. “I only answered because Kita was involved. I came back to Las Noches with Vale and for Vale. You have no power over me."

Aizen chuckled moving Sojiro from in front of him. He reached out unlocking the cell door. "You all intrigue me with how you think I have no control or power over you." He pulled the door open as the boy ran in with his mother being pulled behind him while he hung tightly to her hand. Sojiro ran straight to his father that was still on the cot.
He watched as Sojiro climbed up next to him pulling his mother closer to Gin. "Kita," Aizen called to her. Kita then pulled back slightly to stay a distance for them both. Aizen then turned his attention to Yumiko with a wide smirk.
"Vale. You came back for Vale you say." Aizen looked around the prison. "He must really care for you since he left you here in a cell to rot."
Yumiko set a hand on her zanpakuto. "If I didn't decide to wait for Kita to return, I could have left," she stated, plainly.
Aizen chuckled lightly his hand lifting as he placed it to the top of her's on her zanpakuto. He looked around the prison again. "Do you think I made this prison out of straw?"
Yumiko shifted her weight to remove his hand from hers. "And yet you usually disarm those you put in here."
Aizen smirked at her keeping his eyes locked with hers, "Usually, my dear. They have more training and are stronger than you."

That smirk - he thought he was winning more than an argument. Yumiko tightened her grip on Mizue. Well, she wasn't going to let him. She was done being manipulated. She stood her ground and ignored the bite from that insult. "And yet, someone tried to use me as his secret weapon," she argued. She paused. “Twice. And he failed because he underestimated me.”

"Did I?" Aizen glanced from the corner of his eye to see if Kita was being a good little girl and keeping her distance from Gin. Kita standing at the end of the cot, Sojiro still next to his father as he was explaining to him how he was captured by Sada. When he was satisfied with what he saw he turned back to Yumiko.
"That might be true, but if I had know you were such a frail individual, incapable of growing stronger because of your past and there of lacking. I would have left you there to rot like the Soul Society and your family has done."

Yumiko became bloodless and her hand shook around Mizue. But once again, rage overtook the pain. Reiatsu flaring, her eyes flashed. “You’re wrong,” she hissed. She took a step towards her first lover. “You stole my memories, planted your own when they start breaking free, and even used Kyoka against me. That proves that you couldn’t control me. Once the truth was out, Mizue and I were too much for you.”

If there were any hints of danger brewing between between Yumiko and Aizen, it was lost to Gin, who had eyes only for his family. He even missed the telltale warning of his hair standing up as Aizen laughed.
Sojiro had rushed over, tugging his mother behind him, and Gin’s perilous step into oblivion halted, caught and anchored by his bright eyes. Even in the darkness of Las Noches, they shone.
Just like his mother’s.
Sojiro hauled himself up to the cot and set a hand on his arm. “Daddy, are you alright?”
His restraint failed and he let his better hand run down his son’s pale cheek.
“I’m recovering, Kit,” he whispered. He grinned faintly. “Don’t worry about me.”
“But you’re bleeding.”
“Dried blood,” he murmured, keeping his voice low to mask his ongoing pain.
“Did the angel heal you?” his son quipped.
Gin glanced up at that, towards Kita. “Yes,” he replied, reaching out to her with his eyes, “she did.” The answered referred to more than his son’s question.
Gin slid into the quiet place of their connection. “Kita…” Here, he could not keep his voice from quaking. “Is he keeping you from me?”

Her eyes fell from Gin ashamed of what happened and ashamed of letting Aizen control her the way he was, but she had to keep them safe or at least as safe as she could. Her head nodded slightly as she crossed her arms over her chest and grabbed her arms, wincing slightly from her own grip on them. "He told me..." she fell silent, "he would kill you...if you touched me..."
Her head lifted slightly her eyes barely catching Gin's. "In any way."
Her voice tremble and her very soul ached for Gin's arms to be around her. She needed him. She needed to feel his warmth and his loving embrace wrapped around her. Just once, just one touch was all she wanted as she inched toward her love and their son.

“Killing me would kind of defeat the purpose of controlling you,” Gin reasoned before he fell silent. “Unless he had our son.”
“Which he does,” Kita replied, voice trembling. “I don’t know if I can do this with him here. I can’t let him be hurt or get more nightmares.” She took a step backwards again. “I told him - I told him to obey the bastard in all things. Gin, he, he wanted to fight. He’s just a kid. He’s just my baby.”
“Our baby,” Gin clarified, voice turning sharper at her frail tone, the defeat. “This isn’t your fault. None of what has happened is your fault.”
Kita's eyes kept darting over toward Aizen, making sure he was not looking their way. "I know..." she lowered her head as it shook, grabbing one of her wrists with another wince following behind. "but for the first time ever...I'm..."she heard Yumiko raise her voice to Aizen looking their way. "afraid..." she whispered aloud.
Oh, my love….
Gin’s heart cracked. Yet again, Kita’s suffering… it tore into him like salt water into raw wounds, ripping into him with no remorse. Momentarily blinded, he hissed as Sojiro held onto his hand a bit too firmly at the yelling and turned it for his son to hold, releasing Kita from their conversation for a moment.
Soji looked up and then scooted closer, to check for his father’s warmth. Careful of his wounds, he set his head on his chest. A whisper escaped, as if not wanting to be heard. “I don’t want to lose you again. Or Mom. I don’t want to only have my uncles and aunts.”
Gin shut his eyes, instantaneously plunged into an arctic cold, terrified at losing an innocence he never had. He looked to Kita, his first light, his love and life. He couldn’t let this die yet.
He couldn’t be weak.
“Kita….” he croaked, opening his eyes of sapphire shards, “if Sumi returns to you, please run with with Sojiro.”
Kita’s face turned ghostly, but in another moment, she closed the space between them. His sacrificial words rooting her from her own despair and standing a hairs breath away. “Not without you,” she hissed, eyes flashing.
Her hot words pushed him further from the ledge.
A slap echoed out as Yumiko lashed out at Aizen and Aizen grabbed her second hand. A bang echoed out. From the corner of his eye, Aizen slammed Yumiko into the wall. Sojiro flinched and Gin wrapped one arm around him, his other seized Kita’s head, bringing her lips down to his.
“I love you.”

Kita plunged herself into the kiss like it had been centuries since they has seen one another. Her arms wrapping around him as he let the hand on her head slide down to her back pulling her closer. Parting very so slightly from the kiss she whispered back to him, "and I love you."
She pressed her lips back to his never wanting to let him go. This is where she belonged. Not with Aizen or any other man. There in his arms, his love and life is where she belonged and she would do anything to keep that.
Gin stayed silent, tangling near to pain in her hair, the other soothing roughly down his son’s back. “You have to let go now,” he whispered through his connection and cling to the memories and your dreams. “Watch Sojiro. Remember what made him…”
Kita started pulling back, but all too slowly when suddenly Gin was shoved away with great force causing Sojiro to fall off the edge of the cot. Kita grabbed him and quickly back him and herself away from what was going on.

Aizen had turned just as Kita and Gin had parted from their kiss. Making his way quickly toward them Aizen struck Gin in the chest flipping him backward off the cot. He looked to Gin as he slumped against the wall. Turning his attention back to Kita, she moved Sojiro behind her to keep him away from him. Aizen stopped in front of her lifting his hand, backhanding her across her cheek.
Kita's head turned from the strike, her hand now on the fresh injury as Aizen drew his blade. Looking quickly back at Aizen with hearing the blade being drawn from the sheath, he placed his sword in her hand keeping it wrapped tight around the hilt with his own as he tugged her toward Gin.
"For your disobedience you will kill him in my stead." Aizen told her.
Kita's head shook frantically hot tears streaming down her cheeks as they stung at the fresh wounds. "I won't..." she choked out barely above a whisper as she looked down at the man she loved more than life itself.
Aizen took the tip of the blade and placed it at Gin's heart and released her hand, quickly he moved across the room grabbing Sojiro a hand on either side of his head ready to snap his neck. His eyes narrowed, "you will, or he dies."

As Kita shook her head and Aizen grabbed Sojiro, making his threat, Yumiko clenched her fists. And then became still, reaching for her zanpakuto, already slid free from the fight between herself and her former lover. “Cast away the ripple, Mizue no Kagami.”
Shinsou’s reflection tore through his shoulder and missed his neck as Aizen twisted away, forced to release the boy. “Run, Soji!”
Yumiko unleashed a red cloud around the surroundings, whirling around as the boy scurried past her. She cried out as Aizen backhanded her so hard she saw spots before her eyes. Mizue fell from her hands. Releasing another kido, Yumiko reached for her blade. It missed, and Aizen seized her hair.
His other hand grabbed her blade. Yumiko twisted, trying to get free, and the grip tightened, sending a throbbing ache down her neck.
