"Blessed Day" continued: Worried he would change his mind, Ichigo didn't let himself stop running until he reached Orihime's porch. He leaned on his knees, taking a couple huge breaths, and then knocked on the door. "Orihime, I am coming in." He put in the key his dad had given him a couple months ago. Berating himself for the time of his visit, he walked in and turned on the living room light. "Orihime, I know it's late, but I think you-" he stopped talking as she emerged from her bedroom, looking like she had been kept awake again.

"HI, Ichigo." whispered Inoue. "Is everything OK?" Ichigo nodded. Inoue smiled and walked over to Ichigo and hugged him. "I'm so tired. I - Oh! Did Kita have her baby? Is that why you're here?" Inoue grabbed her jacket and pushed Ichigo to the door. "Go go!"

Ichigo grinned, eyes bright with happiness. He lifted Orihime into his arms, making her giggle and protest, wrapping her arms around his neck. He winked. "Hang on tight." He shunpo'ed out of the door, kicking the door shut with his foot. Running back to the shop. Moved |

"Being Friends":Vale set the bags of groceries to the floor, as he retrieved his copy of the key to Inoue's apartment. Having unlocked the door, he picked up the bags and slowly made his way into the apartment. "Miss Inoue? Are you home?" He set the groceries on the kitchen table and called out to her again. "Orihime?" Vale made his way to the bedroom an opened the door, to find her sitting on the edge of the bed. "Orihime, are you alright?"

Inoue nodded, wiping away tears and adjusting herself on the bed. She placed a hand on her belly and looked to Vale. "I'm alright, Vale."
"You don't look like it." replied Vale.
Inoue smiled slightly and beckoned Vale to come closer. "I'm tired. I can't sleep."

Vale sat on the edge of the bed, next to the crying Inoue. "What's on your mind? You know I'll listen." He smiled and didn't shy away as she leaned against him and took his hand. "Are you nervous about being a mom in a few months? I know my word isn't much. But, I think you'll be a great mother."

"Vale..." Inoue began, wiping away a few more tears. "I'm not nervous about being a good mom. I've got Yoruichi and now Kita to guide me through this. I've even got Kisuke and Isshin." Inoue giggled. "I'm worried about you."
Inoue sat up and looked at Vale, gently squeezing his hand. "When we were in Las Noches, I started to fall for you, Vale. Despite what you were doing to me. I thought that the changes you were making were because of me. You went from raping me nearly everyday to being caring and gentle. Somewhat..." Vale pulled his hand from hers and rose from the bed. "But, then I found it was Yumiko. But, now you don't even have her."

"Miss...Miss Ryouma?" Vale hung his head and turned away from Inoue. "I'm sorry, Miss Inoue. I don't like hearing about...this. Mr. Urahara talked about it this morning. I...um..."
Inoue reached out took his hand again with a smile. "Stop it."
"What do you want me to do? Be alright with being alone? I am, Miss Inoue. I am."

"You don't have to be!" Inoue shook Vale's hand. "That's what I'm trying to say. You don't have to be. You need someone too, Vale. And, my feelings for you haven't really changed." She let go of his hand and pulled her hair into a ponytail. Placing a hand to her belly, she smiled. "You know, you're the only one who comes to check on me and to bring me things."

"You have Ichigo, Orihime." answered Vale, kneeling in front of Inoue.
Inoue smiled and placed a gentle kiss on Vale's forehead. "Ichigo wouldn't recognize the feelings I had for him, if it were glued to his face."
"After everything I did...Why do you care for me? Why do you love me?"

Inoue smiled, brushing loose hairs away from Vale's face. She placed a gentle hand over his heart. "You are all I had in Las Noches. And, I'm all you have now. You're so afraid of all of your what-ifs. Too afraid to see when someone is trying to care for you. I didn't tell them to stop being mean to you because I am an emotional pregnant mess. I did it because I care!"

Vale laughed and rested his forehead to Inoue's belly. "I'm sorry, Orihime. You have to give me time. This is still very new to me. I'll keep checking on you. And, bring you things when you need them. I'll even come over when you need to want someone to bother." He looked up to her with smile. "Time, Orihime. It's all I've got right now."
Vale rose to his feet, and helped Inoue to hers. "Have you decided what to name the baby?"

Inoue smiled and nodded. "I was thinking of naming her after my brother. Sora." She raised a hand to her hairpins. "But, I like the name Evita. Don't you?" "I do." answered Vale. "But, I do like Sora better." Inoue stopped and looked at Vale. "Don't make this hard, Vale! Just say you like Evita and go get me ice cream!" Inoue pushed Vale through the door with a laugh. "I like it. I like it!" "Good! Now, go get me some ice cream!" |

"Another Blessed Day":Four months had passed since the birth of Sojiro Ichimaru. Kita was doing well. And, Sojiro was becoming quite the busy bee. Kenji was working hard to become strong at Ukitake and his father's urging. Vale had gotten a job at Hadashi Flower Garden. He had also moved out of the Shop into his own apartment, though he spent most of his time at Inoue's apartment. Her pregnancy had become fairly difficult in the last few months. She would go on about having an odd feeling about the baby. For the last couple of days, Inoue had cleaned the home until it was spotless. Today was no different. The house had been cleaned from top to bottom since Yumiko and Kita would be paying Inoue a visit. "I don't think they will care what the apartment will look like, Orihime." said Vale, siting on the couch reading a book. "They are your family and will understand. I work. You're pregnant." Vale rose from his seat on the couch. And, Inoue yelled at him to sit back down.

"I just vacuumed, Vale!" she shouted. "And, I know they won't care. I care. Now, stay on the couch! You'll get the floor dirty."
"It's the floor." laughed Vale.
"Yes! And, stay off of it." she replied. The door bell rang, and Inoue hopped in surprise. "That's them!" Inoue waddled slowly toward the door, before Vale rose from the couch and walked to get the door.
