"Family Visit": (continued) Happy with their talk and hoping her daughter understood the importance of leaving things be in the way of her father’s death, Saya slowly walked from the students’ dorm. It was still relatively early the sun starting to turn a bright orange and yellow as it sat slowly in the horizon.
Fall was slowly finding its way upon them, soon the leaves in the trees will be browns, yellows, oranges and reds. The days will become shorter and the nights longer and colder and soon another year will have come and gone. Another year of peace. Another year of silence. Another year of being alone. Saya stopped alongside of a tall cherry tree, her hand resting to the trunk as she looked up into its branches. The sitting sun peeking through it still dark green leaves.
“Keep reaching. One day you will reach your goals… I know you will.”

Exiting a nearby building with the signup sheet of his calligraphy classes, Byakuya halted as the lady crossed the courtyard and set a hand on a cherry tree, looking up at the sunset just beginning to break across the horizon. With a slight lift of his lips, he folded the papers and set them inside his kimono before he, too, let himself take in the beauty rippling out before him.
The sun’s rays cut and flowed across the clouds before bleeding out into warm shades of color, spreading slowly across the canvas before them. The sun sinking lower added depth and highlights, grounding the beautiful chaos taking place. Also revealing its fleeting nature. The colors faded.
Byakuya lowered his head and closed his eyes, committing it to memory. For it would be some time before he could take such a moment again.
Returning to the present, he became aware of the regard of the lady. He wondered how long they had turned away from the sunset. Poised, the cloth of her kimono bright against the dark bark of the tree, the delicate ribbon in her hair blended harmoniously with the fading shades in the blue grey clouds behind her.
As he neared her, he nodded. “Lady,” he greeted.
She lowered her own and sank into a curtsey. “Kuchiki-sama. I hope you are well.”
Sama. A retainer to one of the Houses then. It was not surprising. Her grace and lilting voice befitted her station. “I am,” he murmured. “And if you will permit me, I would escort you to the exit since we are headed in the same direction.”
She lifted her head, a slight smile in her eyes and raised lips. “You are too kind, but I thank you and would be honored for such consideration.”
He nodded and offered her his arm.

Saya linked her arm with the head of the Kuchiki clan with a warm smile. Walking in silence for a brief moment Saya looked out across the campus at the peaceful scenery set out before them.
"It is a beautiful evening. The breeze calming and the colors painting the sky are very lovely." She turned and looked to Byakuya. "Would you not agree?"
Byakuya nodded quietly before pausing and adding. 'It has been some time since I have stopped to enjoy it. I thank you for taking notice of it. If not for your own observation, I would have ignored it."
Saya bowed her head slightly in acknowledgment to his comment. "You are a very busy man, Kuchiki-sama but it is good to take time to enjoy life." She looked back out across the campus. Her tone lowering even more. "One never knows when it will be stripped away from us." Becoming curious she looked back to Byakuya. "Forgive my curiosity and intrusion into your personal life, Kuchiki-sama but do you still instruct your calligraphy here at the academy?"

“Yes, I do,” Byakuya replied. “At first, it was a temporary measure to leave some sense of normality for the students here who felt lost after Aizen’s betrayal. Ukitake meant to fill the position, but his illness returned after the fight. Both he and I had the necessary skill. Then I stayed longer than expected.”
And chose not to give it up even if I wasn’t the support role he had meant to fulfill. Even when my debt had been fulfilled.
“It turned out to be something I asked to keep. The students adjusted.”

Saya nodded slowly her eyes on Byakuya as he spoke. "I am sure they appreciate the wisdom in your instruction." She paused for a second than continued with a soft giggle her free hand covering her mouth.
"I remember when my Sensei was instructing me. A wise man indeed, but he said my Kanji was atrocious and his chickens could scratch better Kanji."
Byakuya lips lifted for a moment. “I highly doubt many of the students care about their penmanship, but the control of the brush can sometimes calm the hand with a blade.” He looked in front of them again. “It is also likened to meditation. Though either require them to apply themselves.”
Saya's look became troubled as she looked away from Byakuya. "That is not acceptable." She mumbled. "The Academy is lax in its instruction for their Soul Reapers." Realizing her statement was overheard by the Noble she stepped away from Byakuya and bowed quickly.
"I apologize for my impertinence, Kuchiki-sama but one would think only perfection would be expectable."

Byakuya’s lips rose higher into an almost-smile and his eyes glittered in quiet appreciation. “There is no need to apologize, Lady. I appreciate the sentiment and at a time, I agreed with it. But,” he looked to her, “I have since learned that is not necessary for everyone to be held to the same exacting standards as we were born into.” He looked forward again. “There are as many kinds of strengths as there are winds in the seasons.”
Byakuya fell silent, considering his past, his idolization of his grandfather followed by the strict instructions of his father, his willful decision to marry Hisana, the demands to balance that which nearly robbed him of his sister, dwelling longer on Renji and Rukia's feelings and resilience. He closed his eyes.
“Calligraphy’s beauty cannot be forced. Nor is it an exact art. It is the same with perfection. One must seek it out of their own volition.”

Saya nodded sternly. "Yes you are correct." But it did not steady her worry for her daughter's training. Noticing where they were when Saya stood from her bow, she smiled warmly at him. "It seems we have made our destination."
Byakuya looked from her around where they were standing. Looking back to her he nodded silently.
Still smiling warmly at him, her hands folded before her, she bowed once more. "Thank you for your generosity. It was a pleasurable conversation and walk."

Byakuya agreed. “It was a most agreeable exchange,” he murmured. One he was not quite ready to end, if he could be as honest as that. But that wasn’t something to say if it could not be. And he could not change his schedule. He needed to return to his division. He bowed his head to her. “Enjoy the rest of your walk back to your home.” Then, before he could linger, he turned and left.
He found himself more relaxed than usual. He closed his eyes again for a moment. Appreciating the fleeting moment.

She watched as the noble turned and walked away from her, a soft sigh escaping her as she looked back toward the dorms. "Do not forget who you are or where you come from Maki-chan. You are a Masanobu. Never forget that."
With her final words she looked back in the direction Byakuya walked seeing him in the distance. He was everything rumor had dared speak of him. Slowly she turned and started her path homeward once more. It was indeed a wonderful end to a beautiful day.

"Coming of the Moon":Suigetsu Koriyama walked through the Shin’o Academy grounds wearing a short cropped white kimono with the collar left open, showing her cleavage; a long, white skirt with a silver chain belt; white tabi and straw sandals; and a blue and yellow haori. Her medium length black hair was partly pulled up into a small bun with the rest laying down her neck with parts of hair framing her face on the sides. A blue and white katana was slipped into her belt on her right hip. Hanging below her katana was a large gourd like flask, filled with what, no one knew. Her dark cobalt and grey eyes were both soft and piercing. The students who passed her by gawked at her in awe while moving out of her way. Some who stood off to the sides were frozen in place. She made her way through the grounds until she found herself in the the residential area of the grounds. She pulled a slip of paper out of her kimono and read the writing on it. “Building D, 236,” she said to herself, placing the paper back into her kimono. “Alright then.” Suigetsu walked into the fourth building on her right and passed through the lobby to the stairs, walking up to the second floor. Moved

"Coming of the Moon": (continued) Suigetsu waited at the bottom of the stairs for Makino. When she caught up, she asked her, “So what kinds of things does this canteen have? Well, obviously not rich food, but it’s not like I care.” She put her arms in her haori sleeves, her arms folded underneath her breasts.

Makino shrugged, “Don’t know. This will be my first time there. Like you.” The two walked side by side as they walked through the lobby and out on campus grounds.
“Though I have not heard the other kids complain about it. So it must be decent at least.”

“After living in the Rukongai, especially the bad areas, anything edible is decent,” Suigetsu shrugged. “I just hope they have some good meat. Beef or pork or something. Shrimp would be good too. Maybe stir fry. Ugh! I’m getting hungrier just talking about it.”

Makino chuckled softly as they walked toward the canteen. The two talking about the academy and the ones attending classes there. Suigetsu asked a few more questions, Makino filling her in the best she could. When they reached the canteen Makino opened the door for her and the two walked in. Moved

Post by Ouranos on Jun 24, 2016 15:02:41 GMT -6
“Model Subject”:Clad in white with trimming of pale blue and silver, Ouranos appeared in the center of the Academy campus. Unseen by the ones passing, his ice blue eyes examining the potential and worthy subjects around him. Many looked good, but none to his standards.
“None worthy enough to carry my child.” An arm crossed over his chest supporting his other arm as it lifted to his chin and he rubbed it in thought. “And here I thought this was the prime stop to find a worth mate. Hm?” He hummed his eyes still searching the grounds. “All young and very strong, but not one of them suited to me.”
As he thought to himself a sweet young voice and a strong energy swept against his scenes.“Riku-kun, Soji-kun! Wait up!” He turned in place facing two young men walking toward a large building, a young woman with dark flowing hair running up behind them. She was beautiful. A shapely figure with violet eyes that sparkled in the mid-day light and a bright warm, caring smile that caused his own features to brighten, and his senses to stand at attention.
He chuckled softly nodding his head. “Yes. You are the one I want. The one I will claim. The one I will make my mate and bare my child.”
His hand quickly went up over his head then lowed back to his side as his clothing changed from a God clad in white, to a Soul Reaper attending the Academy. His messy shoulder length, pale blond hair, blew in the soft breeze and his piercing ice blue eyes stayed locked on his target.
He vanished from his spot appearing in front of the young woman as she ran toward her two friends. He bowed to her his arm crossed over his chest, she slowed as he did so then stopped a few feet in front of him.
“A beautiful woman delights the eye; a wise woman, the understanding; a pure one, the soul.”
He stood and looked into her eyes. “Hello.” His voice smooth as dark velvet as he extended his hand to her.
As intended she took it, he lifted her hand slowly to his lips turning her hand over he kissed the tender skin of her wrist. Releasing her hand he stood erect looking into her eyes once more. “I am Ouranos. May I have your name?”
