"Serene Science":Ryusuke sat on one of the few benches scattered around the courtyard, he smiled at a few butterflies around the gardens, "Such serene beauty within this courtyard, definitely my favorite place to be." He scanned the gardens where a decently aged gazebo sat, he watched a couple of people sitting there talking.
"So peaceful," He smiled and glanced down at the book he was reading. His eyes were swiftly following all the text just as an insect landing on the sentence he was on, "Are you kidding me? Even insects are against me getting smarter. Shoo!" He flicked the insect off of his book and grumbled in frustration, "Damn these insects. Except you butterflies, you are the most beautiful of these grotesque creatures."
Ryusuke shuttered slightly at the though of other bugs and shook his head, continuing his reading.

When the new guy sat back in place on the bench he was met with a half quirked smile of Shin Maki as he leaned over the bench, his elbows resting to the back of said bench. "Bug talker are you? Tell me, what do they have to say?" He lifted from his leaning position and walked around to face the new student. His fingers combing through his spiky blonde hair, his smile still in place.
"I always wondered what those little pesty bastards had to say. Especially the ones that bite. Always wanted to ask them if I taste good." He chuckled then offered his hand. "Shin Maki. Second year. You're new here, right?"

Ryusuke's eyes narrowed and looked at the guy's hand as he shut his book and sat it on the bench, "I don't talk to insects Mr.... Shin? Hope I got your name right."
He then took Shin's hand and shook it, "Yes. I am new. Ryusuke Tanashi is my name. Glad to meet you." Ryusuke's eyes scanned the garden and watched the butterflies then looked back at Shin, "I know I was talking to insects a second ago, but why in the world would you say I could communicate with them? I'm quite sure this is a joke you said, but I've met some people in this academy that are duller than a plastic spoon. Wouldn't surprise me if you thought I actually was."

Shin shrugged his shoulders as his hand went back to his side. "Hey! You never know. Stranger and stranger zanpakuto powers are popping up daily. I have a friend her zan power looks like a hummingbird and the crazy little thing zaps your reiatsu. Mean little bastard."
He looked across the courtyard seeing Makino talking to another friend. "That's her. Sweet girl unless you upset her." He chuckled pointing her direction. She was talking with Mitsuo. "But what female is not that way?" He jested.

"That is entirely true, my new acquaintance," his eyes trailed over to the girl and the male she was talking to, "Glad she has her Zanpakuto powers. I'm just slowly getting the hang of mine."
Ryusuke chuckled, "Are you quite sure that you should be telling me other's power though, Shin? But you tell that to the wrong person and it could get bad fast," he grinned and looked up, "There are a lot of bad soul reapers out there now. I guarantee some are in this academy as we speak, but they probably don't know it yet. Information is incredibly dangerous, especially for an intellectual being."

Shin chuckled, his hand clasping down on Ryusuke's shoulder as he shook him slightly. "Trust me. That's only the tip of the iceberg with that girl." He stepped away from Ryusuke as he motioned for him to follow.
"Come on. I will introduce you to a few of my friends. A few of them can be a little hard to adjust to, but they are good people, and even better friends."

Ryusuke's eyes widened, "I... Are you really taking me to meet other people? I'm sorry Shin, I'm not a very social person." He sighed slightly, "Alright. I guess."
He scooped up the book and bit his tongue as he started to follow Shin on the path. He began to watch the butterflies, and mumble to himself, "Let the intellectual masterpiece's mindset collapse at the group of people.. How fun."

Hearing Shin call their names Makino and Mistuo turned to look his way. Makino smiled and wave gently at them, Mitsuo greeting him with a head gesture as he chewed on a toothpick rolling it around between his lips.
"Who's your new friend, Shin?" Makino ask him when they drew closer.
"Ryusuke... Tanahashi?" He looked to Ryusuke as he nodded slowly to him. "Ryusuke. This is two of my good friends. Makino Masanobu or as we call her Maki and Mitsuo Hayashi."
Makino bowed slightly to the new guy Mitsuo giving the same old head gesture as he did to Shin. Makino backhanded Mitsuo in the chest giving him a dirty look. "You could be a little more respectful."

"PFT! I did not see him bow to me. What comes around goes around." Mitsuo replied as he rubbed the spot on his chest where Makino's knuckles hit. He looked away from the new kid over at his female friend.
"And watch those knuckles. You'll bruise the merchandise." He looked back to the new guy. "You don't look like much. Let me guess. You want to be in the medical division?" His question was said in a sing-song sarcastic way as he grinned at the new kid.

Ryusuke was smiling when he walked to the new people, "Nice to meet you both, not so much for you... Mitsuo? Don't make me laugh. Why I do respect their Kido talents, they are definitely nothing upon the caliber that I will have achieved once I graduate from this academy. But for your information, I am nothing like any small soon-to-be squad four member. I will be in Squad five or twelve, not because I am the strongest, but because I am sure I have the talent to easily enter those divisions with absolutely no effort at all. However!" Ryusuke began to bow but then stopped himself, "Very nice to meet you," His smile was still in place as he kept eye contact with Mitsuo, mid bow.
He then straitened himself and looked to Makino, "But for the lady. You seem wonderful, you must be the Hummingbird," Ryusuke bowed slightly to Makino, "Why I wouldn't quite consider myself Shin's friend quite yet. It is very nice for him to show me some of his friends while we just met as well."
"So tell me about yourselves, all of you. It'd be nice to know about the second year students," His smile continued on his face through the sentence.

Mitsuo bursts out in laughter as he rested an arm to Makino's shoulder. "He thinks he can top your Kido, Maki-chan. Might need to teach this greenhorn a lesson or two." He looked over at Ryusuke and grinned madly. "She is a Masanobu dude. If you do ever top her Kido strength you'll be as old as the Commander by then." His head popped slightly forward as he looked at Ryusuke. "Get it? Grandpa."
Makino huffed and shoved Mitsuo off her. "Knock it off. Just because I am a Masanobu and my zanpakuto is Kido based, does not make me the best at it."
Mitsuo grinned at her. "I doubt this string bean could muster up a Sho."

Ryusuke's smile faded as he raised an eyebrow at Mitsuo, "You know. You are quick to make mundane insults then use your friends as your backup, can you do anything for yourself, friend? Also, for your information, no insults to Makino, but Kido based Zanpakuto or not. I am still damn good."
He stepped over to Mitsuo and yanked the toothpick from his mouth, "Your words don't affect me, Mitsuo. Nice try though." Ryusuke snapped the toothpick and smiled warmly at Makino, "So how'd you guys meet?"

Makino poped to attention away from the discussion the two were having when Ryusuke turned and addressed her alone. "Here at the Academy. Mitsuo is not such a bad guy..." Makino continued as Ryusuke turned and faced her.
When Ryusuke's back was completely turned to Mitsuo, Mitsuo stepped forward with a growl and went to grab Ryusuke.
Makino's hands lifted quickly as she directed it toward Mitsuo. He was then shoved back from grabbing Ryusuke. Makino only grinned as she continued to talk to Ryusuke. "So how do you like the Academy so far, Ryusuke?" She gave a slight side glance to Mitsuo. "Other then the few butt-heads we have scattered throughout."

Ryusuke was grinning like a mad man, easily realizing what he had caused, "Oh I like it here, it is well organized, very nice people," he turned around and looked at Mitsuo, giving a certain "I won" look, "But apart from the assholes here, it is very appealing. Shin is nice, you seem to be very pleasant and lovely to be around. Mitsuo is a nice guy, seems we'll get along. But I think I'll attend to him real quick."
He quickly turned on his heels and walked over to Mitsuo, offering his hand to him, "But now that we have the frustration out of the way, Mr. Mitsuo. Let's start off on a better foot."

Mitsuo looked at him as Ryusuke hovered over him, grasping his forearm for leverage Mitsuo got to his feet. Once on his feet he dusted his backside and grinned at the man. "Hey, everyone needs a good induction. Seems my girl favors you. So I will let you pass."
He offered his hand as the two shook, he then stepped around him to Makino's side. "So what other classes you into beside the general crap we already have to take?" Mitsuo looked Makino's ways as he heard her mention Sojiro's name at a whisper then step away from his side he looked outward seeing Sojiro walking their way. "Hey you, you're looking better. Visit from your mom and little bro must have helped."
Mitsuo and Sojiro grasped hands with a firm shake and a shoulder bump. Mitsuo giving Sojiro a quick hug. "We are here for you dude. Remember that."
