Makino stopped and turned back toward Ayako. “Oh you will still be helping. You and the girls you have on the Festival Committee,” Makino paused for a brief second and smiled at her. “But before any money is spent it will come through me, and there will be a written estimate you will have to have for me for what it is you are wanting to obtain. There will be no foolish spending and there will be no spending money for something that is not[/b] for the festival.” She heard Ayako growl deep in her chest as she glared at her. Makino only chuckled lightly.[/font]
“Fine…” Ayako grumbled.
“So where is the log book and paperwork for the Festival?” Makino asked her.
“It is with my things in Sakura’s dorm room.” Ayako told her.
Makino nodded and walked over to an empty bench. “Good, I will wait here and you run along to get it all. The sooner I can get to work on this the better.”
Ayako looked at her and blinked a few times, a look of ‘what nerve’ blanked her face. Her look then ripped from Makino to her friend Sakura. “Sakura! Come on! We need to go to your room! I have to get a few things for Princess here!”
Makino stood and appeared in Ayako’s face, her eyes wide and a smile across her face. “I don’t like being called that and I suggest if we are going to get along to the best of our abilities until this is done. You call me Makino, Tori or Maki. Anything else will get you hurt.” Ayako stepped back once as she looked at her. “And the same goes for Allura as well. You call us by our names.”

Ayako crossed her arms over her chest and smirked. “Or what? You will leave with mommy’s money?” She chuckled softly. “Once that money is given to the treasury you will never see it again.” Makino returned Ayako’s smirk and stepped toward her again, her hands on her hips. “That’s what you think. That money is not going to the treasury. Captain Kuchiki has control of it, and as far as taking the money and leaving the festival high and dry?” Makino stepped back slightly. “I would never make the other students suffer because of you or anyone on the committee. I will just get rid of the problem.” Makino looked pointedly at Ayako and grinned.Ayako huffed stomping her foot again as her hand went into fist at her side. “You can’t get rid of me! I am the Head Coordinator for all functions here at the academy!” Makino shook her head as she looked at her. “Well let’s hope it stays that way.” She smiled warmly with a tilt of her head. “Run along now and collect the log book and paperwork.” She walked over to the bench and sat back down.Ayako growled softly as she spun on her heel and stormed away with Sakura at her side. She grumbled under her breath disappearing into the girl’s dorm building. It was about twenty minutes later she returned with said items. She and Makino exchanged a few more words and Makino left for her dorm room to go through all the paperwork and log book. MovedMeanwhile: "The Formal Challenge": -- END --

"The Formal Challenge":
Ryusuke flipped through a book as he smiled, "A little time out of my lab is a good thing. Even considering I haven't been sleeping much," He gently spoke to himself as he took a breath in, smelling the flowers around him.
A few minutes later he shut the book and set it down, grinning at himself as he looked around the empty courtyard. He closed his eyes slowly, and before he knew it, he was asleep on the bench he was sitting.

Riku was focused. Focused on finding a particular irritating someone who owed him his dignity back. Ever since that sparring match, Riku had been training himself to be better, to better himself in areas he was lacking in. The areas that Ryusuke Tanahashi had exploited in order to defeat him that day.
Never again. He would never let that happen again. And he would prove it; not just to Ryusuke or to the entire school, but to himself as well. A rematch with his fellow Soul Reaper in training would be his test to prove that he had passed this milestone.
After about an hour of searching the dorms and everywhere else in the Academy, Riku ended up in the courtyard. And there he was. Fast asleep sitting on a bench, a book beside him. Riku slowly and silently walked up to Ryusuke's sleeping figure. Saying nothing, he stooped down and picked up the book next to him. Cracking it open, he discovered it was a book on advanced kido. Looking back up at Ryusuke, Riku snapped the book closed loudly. So loud, Ryusuke snorted and jolted forward out of his slumber.
Smirking, Riku tossed the book at him. "You're a difficult person to find, Tanahashi. That's an hour of my life I won't be getting back."

"A difficult person to find," He paused and rubbed his eyes after catching the book, "You were trying to find me, Riku? Why?" He then straightened his posture as he smiled at his pretty close enemy.
He gestured towards the bench, "Take a seat if you wish to talk."
Riku gave him a raised eyebrow of suspicion. However, he knew enough about Ryusuke by now--or lack there of--to know not to over think or over analyze his actions. Riku sat down on the opposite of the bench. "I came to deliver a message. Or rather a warning."
Ryusuke chuckled lightly at Riku's words, "A message sounds friendly, a warning? You don't seem to be the person to warn someone of something. But then again. The broken nose I received during that spar didn't seem to be you." He then looked towards Riku, with a surprisingly bright smile, "What do you want to warn me about?"

Riku smirked at the memory of the satisfying crunch Ryusuke's nose let out when he broke it that day. "I wanted to warn you that it might very well happen again... No. For sure it will happen again. Though maybe this time I'll take mercy on your face and break something else." When Ryusuke gave him a slightly confused look, Riku scoffed and shook his head. "I'm talking about a rematch, Tanahashi. Expect one to be coming to you soon. And this time I won't lose."

Ryusuke chuckled slightly at Riku, "I have no reason to take you seriously. While yes, you are a very talented fighter." He paused and then his tone hardened once more, "Riku. You are a talented fighter. You can beat me if you actually tried. But as for threatening. You are as threatening as a baby rabbit."
He stood and flipped through his book as he chuckled once more, "But if you want a rematch, then you're on. Expect no mercy, and expect no broken bones on my end." He bowed towards Riku before raising up and smiling brightly at him, "If you win. Then you'll earn my respect. If you lose, then nothing will change," he studied Riku's agitated face from his words, "And you'll just be an embarrassment to the school."
Ryusuke turned and looked over his shoulder as he stretched, "So do as you say and back up your words, Riku Asuhara."

Riku rolled his eyes at Ryusuke, standing up as well. "Baby rabbit, huh? I supposed that's an upgrade in terms of physicality compared to what I was called not too long ago." He headed for the opposite direction as Ryusuke. "Broken bones or not, I'm not doing this for your respect. That means nothing to me. I'm doing this for myself. And I will win. The look on your face as you lay in the dirt, defeated, will be much more satisfying since you don't believe a word I say. Your disbelief will only serve to further make my win a reality."
He walked off, not giving Ryusuke a second glance. Ryusuke Tanahashi's thoughts and opinions of him were irrelevant, and they would stay that way long after the rematch. He would prove the mad scientist wrong, and he would enjoy doing so with every fiber of his being. His business with the irritating pest was done for today. He delivered the challenge. That was all that needed to be done for now.

Ryusuke smiled as Riku walked away, "I'm looking forward to it." He began walking the other way, rubbing his eyes, "But I won't play fair."
A few moments went by as he walked to no where in particular, his eye caught Sojiro. A bright smile came across his face as he passed him. He knew his tricks wouldn't work again, and it'd be all the more fun for the both of them.

Sojiro turned as Tanahashi passed him with that cunning smile that seemed to say more than words would — but in a different way than that smile would do with his father. He stood there, contemplating the meaning of that detail, and then faced his best friend. Talking to Riku would be a good distraction.
Before he continued on to the next training session with Kisuke and his father.
And made a decision.
He waved to Riku as he came over to the bench. “Are you declaring war on someone or trying to open up peace talks?"

Riku smiled at his best friend and sat down next to him. "Neither," he grinned. "I was telling him that I plan on settling things with a rematch. This will be my test to prove that I've grown. I wont lose to him again. And I won't let his irritating mind games get under my skin anymore."
Sojiro chuckled. "As long as they don't get in as deep as they did, that means you've improved." He looked more closely at Riku, one of his friends that he hadn't been able to pay attention to since his family had taken charge of his training and taken it into overdrive. Just in case it was necessary sooner rather than later. "Are you sure you're ready? He really demolish you last time. And another mistake like that could put you back in the lower classes."
Riku nodded sternly. "There won't be anymore mistakes. He's not worth it. Anything that comes out of his mouth is irrelevant and won't serve him any purpose. Even if what he says makes me angry, I won't let that anger bleed into my abilities. I'll have time to be angry later. But during the fight, he won't get any such luxury from me anymore."

Sojiro smiled and clasped his shoulder before hugging him and patting him on the back. He pulled back a moment later and Riku’s frown of determination had morphed into his own cocky grin. “Just don’t expect him to use the same strikes this time. He might believe that he can defeat you, but I don’t believe he is fool enough to use the same kind of attack this time. When you do fight, he will come from a different angle.”

Riku laughed and nodded sternly, his grin slowly growing cockier. "Don't worry, Soji-kun. I've done my homework on him as well. Not to mention I learned something very helpful just a minute ago. I know he won't try mind games this time. He'll think that's what I'm expecting. But, of course, what he's not expecting is that I'm fully prepared to kick his ass physically. I may be short and skinny, but this flower or rabbit or whatever kind of plant or animal people want to compare me to is not helpless. If I was, I wouldn't have lasted a day as a master thief."
He stood up and spun around, then stood tall, crossing his arms over his chest. "It's like that story I read about from the human realm. The one about the young boy who defeated a giant with nothing but a slingshot and the giant's own sword. And then he became king. No one expect the underdog to defeat their greatest enemy. That's what everyone will see come the day of the rematch. Regardless of how it happens. It will happen."

“I don’t care whether you win or lose,” Sojiro stated, “and neither will Kato-Sensei. As long as you prove that you’ve grown past what tore you down so completely last time, the reflection of your skills will improve. That is what matters.”
Riku scratched his head, still grinning. “Maybe so, but I still want to nail him. And for more than one reason, and I am going to.”
Sojiro chuckled. “Just don’t make it all about revenge.”
Riku nodded. “I won’t.” He grinned and poked Sojiro. “What about you? You haven’t had a moment’s chance to tell me what your training is like. You get to our dorm and pass out. Or you fall asleep just after greeting Maki-chan. So are you getting any better? Are they going to give you a break?”
Sojiro chuckled again and leaned back against the bench. “They’re slowing the pace since classes are settling down from the event that involved me and I should probably be able to get into class without too much trouble. Also, the next step of the training is more or less something I have to learn on my own time, not with them.”
“Next step?” Riku asked, tilting his head.
“Yes, in addition to pushing my stamina and the level of pressure I can take from an opponent or opponents, they noticed something about my zanpakuto.” He pulled it out, laying it on his lap. “The reason I can’t work towards Bankai with them is because I have only partially awakened Miyoboshi’s Shikai form. And that’s most likely due to the fact that I have been using my Godly powers and zanjutsu skills first before even releasing her. I haven’t needed her whole power, so she hasn’t given me it."

Smiling, Riku nodded. "That makes sense. Zanpakuto seem to like to give us only what they think we can handle at any given time. And to use more of their power we have to prove to them we need it and we can handle it." He slid Kusemono out of his belt and laid him over his lap, smoothing a hand down its sheath. "Kusemono is the same. I'm sure there's plenty that he hasn't shown me yet."
After a minute of pondering his own zanpakuto, Riku blinked then looked up at Sojiro, smiling. "I have an idea. Maybe we can train together. Since both of our zanpakuto seem to not be telling us everything, we can work on it together. We can spar and do jinzen together, even if we can't directly help each other with our sword spirits."
