"Chattel Métier; The Gathering (continued):
Fuwa leaned against the wall, watching a young couple walk further away from the crowd and into the back lane. Hands in his long trailing coat, he followed at a sedate pace. The couple continued on their stroll, the girls dark brown hair shining like molten chocolate in the fleeting sunlight. She had a laugh like bells.
When the boy pulled her against a building and started a tonguing session, Fuwa leaned against a wall, nearly hidden in the shadows, observing where his hands would go to make the woman jump, listening to how fast her short breaths were. The restrained need in the voice behind her moans. Her partner chuckled and slid a hand over her stomach and squeezed the back of her thigh.
Her hand came up to pull him back just a little, letting him see her flushed, verdant eyes.
He ducked around a corner.
“What is it, Koi?” a baritone voice murmured.
“I thought - I thought I saw someone watching us,” she whispered.
“Are you sure that’s not your paranoia about your fiancé?”
Fuwa smirked and reached into his pocket, pulling out a gold piece. His other hand went to another pocket, fingering the sharp point of something else.
“He won’t be my fiancé for long!” she snapped. “I told you I am talking to my father. Don’t you trust me?”
Fuwa glanced over his shoulder in time to watch the man lean over his woman again. “Of course I do. I didn’t mean it that way. You may be getting anxiety. There isn’t much time left.”
She smiled and set a hand over his as it tucked a lock behind her ear. “There’s still time. I asked him for a chance to discuss my future with him. He agreed.”
Fuwa let the coin fall and roll around the corner.
“I’m glad. That will really hel- HEY! GET BACK HERE, BRAT! Stay here, Koi.” Fuwa lowered his hands to his pockets and dropped a small packet on the crate beside him. The village urchin rushed by him, clutching the man’s purse, Koi’s partner panting out of breath behind him.
Fuwa slipped into the lane. The woman was wringing her hands and twirling her hair, wafting a faint scent of apple blossoms towards him. “I hope he isn’t too hard on the bo-” He let his sandal rock some pebbles and she looked up, eyes wide.
“I’m sorry, please excuse me.”
Too late.
Slamming a hand over her mouth, Fuwa pushed her against the wall. “Leaving right when the hunt was getting good, my flower? Now that would be unfortunate. We were just starting to get to know each other.” He paused, free hand sliding behind her and tugging on the bow of the obi. “Weren’t we… Koi?”
Her jewel-like eyes watered as she screamed into the hand. But the wicked light in his eyes didn’t waver. And she could hear the slide of silk as her belt slipped lower. Her eyes squeezed shut, leaking tears.
“Shhhhh…” he whispered by her ear.
He licked her pulse point, pressing his leg further up against her, her trembling making his turn-on hard. She whimpered, eyes blinking open, wide and pleading.
“Shhhhh…” His hand slipped inside her kimono, making her freeze then shudder as he caressed the silk over the last layer barring her from him. “If you scream-” A faint shuffling caused him to pause and his eye roved to the side.
Koi kicked out at his shin, and Fuwa stumbled, cursing. She darted to the side, gathering her kimono to her and ran the only way she could. Praying no doubt.
Fuwa laughed softly. “Dead end, my flower.” He stood up with a slight limp. “What are the orders?” he growled. “Don’t you know how difficult it is to hunt during the daytime?”
“My apologies, Master Fuwa. You are being summoned to Junrinan, and Mitsunari asks that you hurry. Two of your henchmen killed when they were relocated.”
Fuwa ran a hand through his hair. “Really now, can’t they keep that down for one week without me?” He sighed and pulled a syringe from his inner pocket.
“Alright, but we’re taking this one with us,” he murmured over his shoulder, tapping the plunger to check the contents. “I’’ve been watching her too long to let her fly away after I gave some of my stuff away to make sure the trap was perfect.” The ninja nodded.
Koi spun around in the shadows, heart hammering in her head, looking for a break in the walls. Finding a crate. She hitched her kimono up and climbed onto it. Grabbing a ledge, she pulled herself up, breathing a sigh of relief as someone on the other side lifted her up. "I told you we were just getting started." Koi opened her mouth to scream but found no voice.
Fuwa smiled as the needle slid into her wrist, draining the syringe of white liquid. "Don't worry. It will all become clear when you're awake again..."
