"Final Stroke of the Day":After suggesting that Sojiro return to his dorm to change into his best kimono for his meeting with the Masanobus, Kisuke and Kita, with little Kadaj screaming good luck, changed direction and went towards the First Division as Sojiro and Byakuya turned in the direction of the Academy. The walk was silent until they reached the dorms and Makino rushed out to greet them. In the end, she joined them, too. Sojiro and Makino walked behind him, hand in hand, as Makino shared a funny story about her days of training with her brothers. Sojiro offered some commentary, but Byakuya remained quiet. Only partially listening. Considering the circumstances before him. From what he knew of him, the noble had no doubt that Kin would demand that Sojiro and Makino cease all connection immediately for Aizen's threat. He would probably resume his argument against the Academy as well. On the other hand, Saya would most certainly side with her daughter, who had already declared that she wouldn't be separated from Sojiro. Shiro would probably side with his mother, and sister, valuing happiness. It would be an interesting night. He was grateful that the shopkeeper and the vessel had decided not to come. As they reached the gates of the Koriyama estate, Byakuya paused and looked to the young couple behind him. Makino halted in her story and raised her chin. She wasn't going to let go of her boyfriend. Byakuya continued onwards and turned right, the path towards the Masanobu manor.

Shirou strolled down the path to meet Byakuya Kuchiki, Sojiro Ichimaru and his beloved sister, wearing a violet and white kimono and hakama. "Good evening. Well, I'd say good night, but that would imply that we're going to bed," he smiled. He walked up to Makino and kissed her forehead. "And good evening, dear sister." He stood back up and gestured to the manor. "Everyone is waiting inside. And getting rather antsy, too. Shall we?"
He walked in front of them as they continued up the path to the front doors, opening them and holding them open for the three of them.

Makino still stepped forward Sojiro tugging her to a stop when he did not move and only looked on at the manor in front of him. She turned slightly and looked at him a soft giggle escaping her as he stood there frozen in the path. She stepped up to him and kissed his cheek as her hand gave his a gentle squeeze. She stayed close to him and whispered softly to him.
"It's alright. I will be at your side every step of the way." She moved closer and whispered in his ear. "Kin is the worst of the four. Be yourself and he will have no issues with you."

Sojiro brushed lint off of his dark blue kimono and adjusted the black sash. “I will be,” he replied, “but I do have to acknowledge the danger my father’s past actions could cause us. And I’ve already lost control a couple times today…” He ran a hand through his hair and smiled at her. “But you’re here. And Captain Kuchiki said I have a chance. I have to remember that.”
He looked up at the manor again. “I won't lose." He walked on, holding Makino's hand. Moved-- END --

"Seeking Another Voice":After leaving the Ozaki manor, Yumiko was reluctant to turn to home, but she needed to eat lunch, too. However, the discussion with the Ozaki head had left a bad taste in her mouth. She wanted to talk to someone. But the captains were dead. And Kisuke would be busy. Her friends at the Gotei and the Academy would be working. Yumiko sighed. She was making excuses because she hadn't asked yet. She was nervous. And worried. But she wanted to try something else. Shaking tears from her eyes, Yumiko took a breath and followed the prompting of her heart. She took the main road, turning away from the turn that would lead to her family house and heading towards the direction of the Koriyama estate. Finding herself at the door of Masanobu manor, she hesitated and then knocked. The worst that could happen would be another rejection, of a different kind. But maybe, something else would happen.

Kouen was out in the in the front of the manor when he heard the knock on the gate. He looked around not seeing the gate tender anywhere in sight. "Oh yeah," Kouen snapped his fingers. "He is at lunch." As he went to step forward toward the gate his stomach growled at him.
He stopped on his path to the gate, his hand going to his stomach. "Seems like I need to go to lunch as well." He chuckled lightly, his hand dropping to his side once more as he headed to the gate to greet their company.
When he opened the small door on the large wooden gate he was surprised to see Yumiko standing there. "Lady Ryouma, what a pleasant surprise. Come in please." As he offered his hand to her and she looked up at him he noticed a look of distress in her eyes and on her face. Once in the door and it closed securely behind her, Kouen turned placing himself in front of her. He took both her hands in his and looked into her eyes.
"What's wrong, Yumiko?" Releasing one of her hands, he brushed a few loose strand of hair from her face.

Yumiko sighed again and gave a small smile. “I apologize. I hope this isn’t a bad time.”
“Yumiko,” Kouen murmured, squeezing her hands, “you’re fine. Please tell me what’s wrong.”
She chuckled and closed her eyes for a moment, not wanting to cry yet again. “It’s difficult to explain, really,” she said. “I woke up today feeling lighter than I’ve felt in years and had a wonderful morning doing the gardening in my guardian’s estate. Nothing was bothering me, not even his death. And then, I accepted an invitation to another estate.” She looked away. “I though I said the right thing, but- but it’s left me feeling….”
She dropped his hands, not wanting to voice all the negativity and pain that had risen in her at the end of her discussion with Takuro Ozaki, trying to swallow it down. “I decided on impulse to come here. I know it’s sudden. But-” her voice broke, “I needed a kind voice."

Kouen smiled kindly at her taking her hand once more. "Come on, let's go inside and have lunch." He started to walk tugging lightly on her arm. "You're hungry right?"Just then Kouen's stomach growled again.
He chuckled as Yumiko looked his way with a shocked look. "What~ I'm hungry. It's lunch time."
She nodded slowly and started following him toward the house. "It's just us, everyone is out doing their own thing today. So we can talk without interruption."
He watched her as she nodded her head slowly, the sad look still on her face. "Aww, you're going to make me feel bad here. How can you still be sad when you're in the company of an awesome guy like me. Oh~" he leaned closer to her, "and good looking. We can't forget that part."

Yumiko couldn’t help but giggle and cover her lips with her sleeve as her mood lightened enough for a better smile to appear on her face. “You’re impossible, Kouen-san.” She dabbed at her eyes. “There’s no safe answer there for me without inflating your ego even more, and I’m not sure I can handle that.”
“What, my Lady Ryouma, you wound me.”
She giggled again, not replying. Her mood had improved, but she wasn’t sure where to begin. And she wasn’t sure if she should intrude of his lunch or be alone with another noble when her reputation was in such a precarious position.
However, she didn’t let go of his hand, either.

Kouen looked over at her as they walked toward the house. "You can tell me all about your day. Mine has been boring as hell. I don't have watch until tonight and I can't sleep. So I have been running around the manor trying to find things to do."
He stopped at the entry door and looked to Yumiko. "Mother will be shocked to see her nicely polished floors in the tea room. Its been awhile since it has been done." he took a step up as Yumiko followed, her hand still him his as they entered the house.Moved

Bleach Unrated: REBOOTEDCurrent Arc: RejectionEpisode 412 “Childhood Friends”: (continued) “Where do you two think you are going?” Kin questioned as he walked toward them.“Jiro-chan was headed home I thought I would walk with him,” Makino explained as her hand rested on the gate door.“The two of you are done training already?” Kin was doubtful.“Kin-sama, we’ve been in the dojo since after dinner. I am sure it’s well past nine.” Jiro stated, “You want us to work ourselves to death?”Kin chuckled his hand clasping to Jiro’s shoulder. “Well, the two of you were in there longer than I believed.” Kin looked to his baby sister a clear smile across his lips. “Alright, you two. Be careful out on the streets this late and Maki-chan don’t be out too late. Remember, Mother wants you and Kouen to help her to the park tomorrow morning.”

Makino nodded, “I remember. I am looking forward to it.” She turned to open the gate door. “I get to spend the day with Mother and Kouen at the park. It’s been a long time since that has happened.”
“Is Lady Saya going to be painting?” Jiro asked just as a knock echoed through the wooden door on the gate.
"Yes, Mother will be painting at the lake. You should come with us, Jiro-chan." Makino’s hand dropped from the latch on the door as she stepped back and her brother stepped forward with narrowed eyes.
“By the Gods. Who is calling this late in the evening?” Kin groaned as he reached for the door.
“Could it be a messenger?” Jiro mused looking pointedly at Makino.
Makino shook her head looking Jiro’s direction. “They don’t knock,” she spoke softly.

Kin stepped up to the door and reached out for the latch as the knock echoed through the door once more. As Kin opened the door he revealed their visitor standing on the other side, the head of the Koriyama Clan, Suigetsu Koriyama. Makino smiled brightly at their visitor as she stepped through the doorway and Kin closed the door behind her.
"What are you doing out at this time of the night and nonetheless dressed like that? Are you looking to be attacked?" Kin scolded Suigetsu.
Kin looked Suigetsu over from her to toe. She was wearing a navy blue, silk kimono with hand-painted pink lotus blossoms and green leaves along the back, chest and sleeves. Her hair was tied up in a blue hair cord and silver lotus hair pins with pink diamonds in the center where the filaments would be.
Makino furrowed her brows jerking her attention from Suigetsu to her brother then looked back at Suigetsu, "Don't listen to him. You look really pretty tonight, Suigetsu. What's the occasion?"
Suigetsu smirked and crossed her arms over her kimono sleeves instead of inside them. She gave a shake of her head. "You don't have to humor me, Maki-chan. I'm sure I look as out of place as a golden goose in a hen house." She blinked then pouted and furrowed her brow. "Or I guess in my case it would be a hen amongst a flock of golden geese." She chuckled and smiled at them again. "In any case, I was at some gala the nobles were holding. Formalities and all that nonsense. Stuffy as hell, but at least the food was incredible. I was in the area so I decided to stop by."
Kin noticed Suigetsu had crossed her arms over the sleeves of her kimono instead of tucking her arm inside the sleeves, and with the description of herself, he could not help but shake his head at the silly woman standing before him. "I was not disgracing you for your attire, Suigetsu. I am only trying to understand why you would be walking in a dangerous area without an escort. Your attire embodies your nobility."

Suigetsu huffed as Kin reached out and gently corrected her arms, guiding them into her sleeves. She did as he silently asked and tucked them in properly. "I'm perfectly capable of laying anyone who tries to attack me flat on their ass." She smirked and pulled her arms out to place her hands on her hips. "I dare someone to try me. They will be washed away down the gutter with the rain water quicker than you can say 'go fish.'"
Jiro chuckled, "that's our Suigetsu-sama."
Makino giggled nodding her head in agreement.
"That's not the point, Suigetsu." Kin scolded. He looked at his baby sister. "Your point is as moot as Maki-chan's about her attending the academy."
"Oh?" Suigetsu placed a finger to her bottom lip in thought as she tilted her head at the Masanobu siblings. "And what was her point, hmm? Maybe I need to hear this point too and offer a second opinion."

"You know the conversation involving the academy, Suigetsu." Kin's eyes narrowed. "I will not waver on my decision. Maki-chan will not enroll in the academy this year, not next year. Not any year. Her family heritage will see to that."
Makino growled hands clenched tightly at her sides, but before she could protest Jiro quickly slipped his hand over her mouth. "That seems a little harsh Kin-sama. Her enrollment as a Tori will help keep her family secret, well," Jiro paused, "a secret."
Suigetsu tilted her head at Kin curiously. "Do you really have so little faith in the academy? In the Gotei? I understand no institution is perfect. The nobles sure as hell aren't. But I think putting up such a proud face about Makino wanting to 'stoop so low as to join the academy' is probably, in reality, one part pride and one part fear. You also have to realize that the more you push, the more likely it will be that Makino goes off on her own and does things of her own will without anyone's blessing when she's an adult. Would you rather her do this with your blessing or without?" Suigetsu raised her hand when Kin took a breath. "Don't answer that. That was rhetorical. I know exactly what you're going to respond with. All I ask is that you put a little more faith in Makino if you won't put your faith in the organization that keeps us safe."
Kin sighed, "Suigetsu. It's not the idea of the Gotei not being worthy of a Masanobu. It is the possibility of that Masanobu being discovered as an assassin. If that happens that puts us in danger, and you know that."
