"A Visit to the Sixth":Kisuke walked into the room of the Sixth Division Captain adjusting his hat when he stopped to see the man pushing himself up to the edge of the bed, his feet almost ready to touch the floor. "I do hope it's the little boy's room I am catching you getting out of bed for? I would hate to have to call a certain Captain in here to put you back to bed." Kisuke grinned from under his hat at Byakuya as he looked up and across the room at him.

The captain’s eyes narrowed. “I have been in bed long enough. No doubt you and she will keep me from returning to my division, but if I am going to get my strength back, then I need to limit the bedrest.” His tone was blunt with a gruff bite.
He had wanted to find Saya without being caught. He remembered her turning to defend him and then them both falling. And even if Kotetsu had told him she was recovering, he wanted to see it with his own eyes.
Byakuya leaned against the headboard, waiting the shopkeeper’s response, to delay standing.

Kisuke shook his head and moved toward him, placing a hand to his shoulder he pressed downward. "Sit. I have news for you. Good news even, and if you're up to it when we are done speaking I will take you to see Saya."
Byakuya looked up at him with softer eyes. "Cross my heart." Kisuke told him as his index finger made an 'x' across his cheat over his heart. "We got a deal?"

Byakuya refrained from rolling his eyes at the use of that childish expression but nonetheless let Kisuke push him back down. Closing his eyes as a vague wave of pain and nausea surfaced, he settled down and waited for the weakness to pass. He then looked at the shopkeeper.
"What's happened?" he asked.

Kisuke stayed close to him when he watched Byakuya pale. Once his color returned, he moved quickly to grab a near by chair, sitting next to the bedside. He situated himself and removed his hat.
"First good news of the day. Kita has completed her mission. Aizen is dead and his ashes, along with the fragments of his zanpakuto are sealed and sitting in my office. Second part of my good news--"
"Kita? There was a mission for her? Explain. I don't remember a mission being set in place for the Vessel, and I don't believe my memory was affected by my injury," Byakuya inquired, his eyes narrowing again.
"Don't get your noble panties in a knot, Byakuya. This mission was set up between me and Kita only. When she and Ichimaru failed at the one they were on. I set another in motion."

Byakuya folded his arms and fell silent for a few moments. It was difficult to believe that their nemesis was dead — and that it had taken place without any assistance from his own person. That left him a question of honor to consider. Was his debt to his sister and the new debt to his family satisfied? He would consider it later — when he was left alone and able to meditate.
He decided to respond. “You arranged a plan between yourself and the Vessel, and it succeeded in ending Aizen. I suppose that means it is too late to say anything against it, even unnecessary. But it was dangerous. Unless you are saying that her strange behavior has all been a part of this plan of yours.” He paused. “What about Tervaden? Was he a part of this plan?”

Kisuke shook his head, "Tervaden had nothing to do with this mission, and her behavior was part of the mission. She had to make everyone believe she had chosen a new path. Her harboring the darkness in her soul and thinking like Aizen is what made this all the more believable for the ones involved. However, there were issues with the mission that worried me. Kita falling in love with Tervaden, her getting married to him and getting pregnant. Again."
Kisuke sighed as he looked down at his hat in his lap. "These were issues I did not think would take place, but she put herself in so deep... it was bound to happen. Now she is in mourning." He looked back up at Byakuya. "Tervaden was killed by the Ayakashi. Kita right now is in the underground housing in the First Division. She is recovering from Tervaden's death that was brought on by the Ayakashi." He shook his head.
"I won't say this in front of Kita, but in a way Tervaden's death was the whipcream on top of our cake. It brought on the death of Aizen, many Hollows, Espada, and Ayakashi. It also brought on the complete annihilation of Las Noches. Kita turned it to dust."

The noble was silent again for a longer period. This had begun as the soul reapers’ fight. But it had only been ended by the human vessel of a goddess. He had to wonder what that meant for the Gotei. Were they that weak? Or had Aizen — and possible Tervaden — reached a point in their thirst for power their death was no longer probable in their hands?
He looked Kisuke. Then again, Aizen's brother had engineered the plot.
Was that enough?
He closed his eyes. “So it is finally over…”
He opened his eyes again a moment later. “Is she stable in her grief?”

"As stable as anyone that is grieving. She still has not told their son Kadaj. Though I am not sure if he will understand at the age of three. I do know, if any remaining Hollow, Espada or Ayakashi show their faces she will destroy them on the spot. She feels no remorse for the Hollows. But she did admit to me last night when we talked. That even though she enjoyed destroying Aizen, and bringing his rein of terror to an end. She felt oddly sorry for the man and forgave him for his indiscretions against her and her loved ones over the last twenty some odd years."
Kisuke chuckled lightly as his head shook. "She is an odd child, that is for sure." He looked to Byakuya pointedly. "But she would never turn her back on her family or friends. That I know for fact. I guess we should all be thankful that she is on our side."

Byakuya nodded. “That is a true fact, considering her power and the results of her rage. I hope she is given the time to heal.” He paused. “It is both fortunate and unfortunate that she became entangled in this war — and that it took so much from her — but at least she as her children and her friends. Tsukiro has grown up into a fine captain. And Ryouma has finally begun to bloom. Perhaps friendships like theirs will give her the comfort she needs and deserves.”

Kisuke nodded slowly. "She has been through a lot. Not just on her behalf, but to help us out as well. And so many times I figured her to tell me to go to hell and do it myself." a smirk drew across his face.
"I would not have blamed her. I still blame myself for Aizen finding her. At time I think if I would have left her be he would have never figured out who or what she was. Sumi would have stayed hidden and she would be living a normal life like intended." He chuckled softly.
"Then I look back at the joys she has brought to not only my life, but others, and of course thanks to Aizen there have been some very bad times." His head shook. "Bad or good. I would not want to trade them for no amount of power or riches." His thoughts drifted to his son. "I love my kids. I just wish one of them understood that, and would finally come back home."

"Good thing we're in a hospital, hm." said Kenji, leaning in the doorway of the room. "I may very well cry myself to death. You're so sentimental now, Old Man." He stood tall as he watched his father rise to his feet quickly, knocking the chair over.
"Kenji?!"
"Who else would it be?" chuckled Kenji, stepping toward his father. They shared a loving embrace before his father plucked him in the forehead, knocking him to the floor. "Damn it, dad!"
"Where the hell have you been?! And, where the hell is the rest of your arm?!" shouted Kisuke.
"I lost it, okay?! Why is everyone so concerned about my arm?"
"Because, you had two the last time we saw you!"
"I still have two, you blind old bat! Well...One and a half."

Kisuke offered a hand to his son helping him up. "So. Where is it and why did you remove it?"
"Really, dad?! What the hell makes you think I would cut off my own arm?"
"Because you're my son. Now start talking." Kisuke told him as he sat him down in the chair he was occupying moments before.

"Really?" questioned Kenji. "That is what you want to talk about after all this time?" Kenji dusted himself off before giving a slight bow to the noble resting in bed. "Captain Kuchiki." He turned his attention back to his father.
"I would hate to cut this meeting short. But, you have a grandchild and daughter-in-law to meet, Old Man." Kenji gave a sheepish smile.
"A grandchild?! I've met all of Kita's kids. And, the boy died yesterday. She's run off and married a woman?!" Kisuke pulled his hat forward, shading his eyes.
Kenji grumbled as he scratched the back of his head. "Yeah. Mom told me about Vale. And, Kita told me about Kadaj. But, you might want to cut the antics long enough to meet Keiji? He looks just like you, unfortunately."

"Kadaj?" A confused look blanked his face. "What happen to Kadaj?"
"Well.." Kenji began. He looked to the Captain then back to his father. "Kita said Alister took Kadaj. I...I though you knew..." Kenji reached for his arm as he looked away from his father.
Kisuke's eyes narrowed as his head shook. "No, I did not know. It must have happened after I left." He growled. "We get rid of one asshole to have to deal with another. Does Kita know why he took him and where?"
"I...I don't think so. She just said that she can't get to him. And, that she's been trying to contact someone named Shinsato, to no avail. She did her usual amount of threatening their lives. But, that was it."
Kisuke's head shook again as he picked his hat up from the floor where it fell from his lap when he stood. "Shinsato is Vale and Satoshi's father. Alister's father as well."
